It is possible just to keep the 'Crew' Jobs open no matter the branch you choose.

You select a Branch in the Job Menu, and your character is sealed to those jobs within the branch. Branch Civ: Cargo Roles, 'Crew' Roles (Chef, Assistant, Bartender, etc.) (Head Included) Branch Sec: Sec Roles (Head Included) Branch Med: Med Roles (Head Included) Branch Engi: Engi Roles (Head Included) Branch Sci: Scientist Roles (Head Included) Branch Command (Unique): All Players with Whitelist + Required Branch (Captain/IAA Command Whitelist Restricted Only) This Means a Branch Civ Character that gets a Head Whitelist can go HoP, Captain, and IAA. A Character in the Med Branch with a Head Whitelist can go CMO, Captain, and IAA. 6 Day Cooldown before it goes into effect to find the Job that the character is best suited for. This also could be paired with the Eco Update.

Let's call this the 'Overcoat' slot, any item in the Overcoat slot is placed on top of the character's currently equipped gear, excluding EVA Gear, or sealed gear in general. (This could be done by having the EVA Suit's Icon appear twice, once in the exosuit slot and greyed out in the Overcoat slot) Any Item in the Overcoat slot has its armor or protection values Negated. So wearing your jacket in the overcoat slot without anything in your exosuit slot would be pretty worthless.

I've seen HoS allow no-warrant arrests just because the AI witnessed the crime, and when I called sec out on it, they said 'It's lawed and counts as an officer.'

Sorry xander when you originally came to me about this i reckoned it sounded like a suggestion. Exactly where this thread is put is not super important though as the message is still the same. I am most partial to this idea though. I think arrest warrants are pretty important and they have gotten a lot less cumbersome now that we have a holo warrant projector. I think security is a department that needs communication greater than any other department. Warrants force a little of that communication since even OOC i am interested in security being able to prove a thing happened. Warrants add another layer of protection against problematic security play and i think it will help enforce a more healthier way to play. Obviously nobody expects a warrant if you witness the crime. Another Question comes to mind, does the AI count as a Sec Officer if they witness a crime?

see thats the thing, the war HASNT Ended. Its currently a 3-way Civil War, that is still being fought. (Even if the control map makes little sense) But, yeah, that war is still being fought.

I've only interacted with Peter, and it was such a disgusting experience that I set a space bear on him. He ignored the Captain twice, and the detective which resorted to me getting involved, him getting mad, a space bear teleporting in, and me deciding to let it maul him to get him out of cargo. Peter is a jerk of a character, but that might be intended. Even so, refine it alittle.
