  1. It wasnt handled the best by me yes, at the time however i was scrolling through logs and VV trying to find the original person spreading fuel around, i reasoned that since its not able to do damage then its IC appearance must be close to that of a lighter flame or some sparking, as such i felt he was just making some jokes about it. I do however agree it might not be the kind of conduct we expect of a CMO and i should have PMed them about it.
  2. at the time i was looking around for who actually threw around the welder fuel and was checking through some logs, i admit i was conflicted a bit but i figured IC since its not even enough to cause damage then the fire was incredibly small and only seemed dangerous because of the sprite, the emoting and being consumed seems like a bit much too me however but... i feel uncomfortable banning someone for this. I definitely should have spoken too them though.
  3. I can understand his point of view, it can be a grey area when we start to enforce server policy further and further from the server, in this case i think Byond PMs are a reasonable extension and i really don't think its unreasonable conduct yourself appropriately in them.
  4. Is it possible for IC behavior to go too far? I think it certainly is. Is this an example of it? We generally see people get a little too uppity with racial and or homophobic slurs sometimes. While a little is ok I have asked more than a few to tone it down a bit through a pm. I just can't see how this is merely IC conflict. As jackboot said this paper was being spanned in his office. I just feel like this is going too far.
  5. Considering mirk has been on thin ice for a while now I'm honestly bewildered to see this type of behavior, this is way beyond anything IC conflict could warrant. Was mirk an antag at least?
  6. Negative, long time players have no excuse to understand precisely the conduct we expect of players and as such cannot use any sort of excuse of being ignorant of rules/behavior expected. Im still curious why rusty is justifying his behavior with that post and blowing this off, it makes me wonder at his innoncence even without the logs.
  7. It was explicitly stated the problem was with your OOC behavior, not what you did during the round, I haven't seen the full logs yet but after the Pm's to mirk im curious why you think that's acceptable.
  8. being on different pages is not the same as having healthy disagreement. the vast majority of punishments we do or do not dish are in unanimous, we are not each going on separate crusades enforcing our own interpretation of the rules. I get what you're saying about it appearing as favoritism but quite frankly if i cared what people thought about decisions i make to moderate problematic behavior then i shouldn't be a moderator in the first place.
  9. Moderators are not a hivemind, some of us disagree on certain stances but at the time the decision to apply a warning, while initially mine was /unanimous/. Almost always however the judgement is left up to whoever calls dibs or investigates the issue. Whatever issue there may have been with ninjas yesterday im unaware of,i wasnt paying much attention to the game since i was playing another game and was relying on the ahelp noise to tab back in. I think its unfair to claim im showing favoritism and then point to an example where you see i may have not acted, we do not hand out bans like candy nor do we report to the general players on punishments we may or may not dish out. The behavior itself was actually wrong and anyone in the exact same situation would also have been warned. ( do not even try to take this as yinzr being in full security gear while stamos still being in only cargo tech attire) when i say exact same situation i mean exact same. The warning is staying as i frankly see no reason to change it.
  10. Stamos could have been the most grizzled and hardened head of security in the sector and i still would have applied this warning. he rushed someone after taking a laser shot to the chest without wearing any sort of armor and then after attempting to disarm them of it they were shot a second time. they THEN decided to take up the weapon and shoot the antag to crit. the culmination of all of this is why i have applied this warning and why i still stand by it. If it was yinzr, jackboot or any other player in this exact type of situation with the exact same type of playout i would have also applied a warning.
  11. I must have been a bit unclear, im not saying you had to literally "rest" and lie down but i am saying you should RPed some serious pain and NOT rushed.
  12. I applied a warning to your account as i found your level of RP to be far beyond anything reasonable a rational sane individual would do in your shoes. Let me be clear, it was the entirety of the situation with the officer and the detective that led me give a warning to your account. You claim we all know stamos and that he "doesnt take shit" especially from women. this is fine and would be reasonable if said women were merely giving you attitude or was perhaps a head of staff giving you orders. However she explicitly stated she would cut your hand off if you didnt give her your ID. regardless of whatever pride or contempt for women your character may have it is in no way reasonable to /disarm/ them of their weapon when you are threatened with bodily harm. Perhaps if she had tried to kill you. Second the gun was being aimed at you and he fired a shot, now you took this opportunity to rush them and in the struggle were fired at AGAIN. THEN you took the gun and fired at them in turn, you demonstrated a complete lack of fear RP, pain RP and being able to handle a laser rifle. This is completely unreasonable and unjustifiable in my eyes. given these facts i stand by my decision and im sorry if you feel others not following similar pain RP conduct but all i can say is ahelp it and we will deal with it, just because you dont see a player banned doesnt mean we arent doing something about it.
  13. Maybe we shouldnt insult people with passive aggression >.>. They feel strong enough about the principle of the issue to post it in a public forum, any of us have that right.
  14. Maybe its that they feel that type of "chucklefucking" isnt something someone like you should be doing in the first place, maybe its less a case of them not communicating with you and more of a case of them feeling you should know where the line is in the first place. Especially since you have been in this position and can relate to how frustrating dealing with some of them can be ( not that ive witnessed very much of your play so i cant really say ). Like i said though, im only speculating and i dont have the right to preach to anyone here. not that i want too anyway. The issue of reprimands that you feel being doled out unnecesarily is a tricky topic. Ive only been on staff for a little while (im still in trial) but when i handle an ahelp i was actually surprised how much the higher ranked people leave the decision and handling of it entirely up to me, or the person handling it. Within reason they offer advice of course but the final judgement is almost always up to whoever answers the ahelp or initiates contact, An important point i want to stress though is that among my fellow moderators and the admins (tish included) they almost always ask the opinion or discuss the judgement in msay. I think in this instance tish was right to speak with you but the way they spoke to you is not the way i would have, essentially what i want to get across is we arent a hivemind i dont think and some of us would handle a situation a little differently.
  15. alright, i really feel like i gotta say something here.... First off i just dont really feel right in how tish handled it, i mean i would have spoken too you as well probably but i would have probably said something like "hey man just be more explicit in case new players are actually watchin" which is a valid concern i think since we have had a lot of new players recently. Frances i admit, i dont really know who you are but i understand you were once a headmin of this server and from your posts here i really think your presence here does more good than harm. I just recently joined as a moderator but ill be frank, ive been around the block in situations like this and i get the feeling there is a tension revolving around you and certain staff members. now i dont have the right to preach to you nor am i gonna try to lecture anyone on how to handle things. I think we are all just very passionate individuals, in this case it happens to be about space station thirteen. Sometimes that passion can do some pretty amazing things but it can also drive us to go a little over the edge sometimes. My advice is we /all/ take a step back here and re-evaluatewhat we are here for and why we came here in the first place.
  16. Actually id argue blind enforcement is what actually sets a bad precedent.
  17. I think everyone understands your explanation we just disagree with it.
  18. Tell our security players that.....:-[
  19. Couldn't you just PDA them or walk right over since the areas are within a few feet of each other?
  20. Why? What's wrong with it now? I feel those all those departments are too unique to be in the same department.
  21. We need this, like alto. Too many times the loyalty implant currently inhibits actual role-play. I also think we should keep in the part about the captain or even majority command vote to provide leniency or even pardon minor crimes as well as security being unable to arrest heads for misconduct without command approval.
  22. 99% of the time you're correct, but the extent frances went to minimize it, going to a secluded tunnel, attempting admin help, and only attempting to create a situation with a bit of RP (like setting up a play). Complete and one hundred percent zealotry in the rules is never a good idea.
  23. Ill admit I haven't been on much this past week because of moving to a new house, but I have noticed it being commented on in may you guys are friends and what not. However i dont really see much of an issue..
  24. I am so confused I don't really know what to say..... But ill try anyway. I honestly think just breaking the foot yourself shouldn't have been an issue since table literally tried to admin it. Then this charge of metacommunication? .....seriously? Are people not allowed to play with friends over voice unless they type every little thing to each other? This punishment is beyond absurd im sorry. I mean if im missing something here that's fine but seems kind of excessive to me.
  25. Well it looks to me he might have though you were being 100% satirical and not just with the name. The problem I see here is you're gonna color your actions really badly if you pick a name with such strong implications like that, regardless of your actual intent. That said i only have one part of the story at this point.
