  1. If you want your drill, and there is science, drill three blocks in a row, it takes longer to keep mining, and it more aesthetically pleasing than 1 by X holes. So, you'll take longer, might get more, so you can tell science, unsarcastically, when they ask for their materials, that mining with a pick is very slow, and they'd get their stuff faster if you have a drill.
  2. I have to agree with Nik, people are just ticked that nothings getting done, and nothings getting better. If DO's would do anything beside temporary demotions, no-contact orders, or completely arbitrary punishments, these threads might slow down, but I highly doubt they'll ever stop. But that depends on the DO's picking up the big boy pants, and well, they said publicly they didn't bother punishing Stamos for a long time because Mirk said he would just change the character's name and keep on playing as they pleased.
  3. Like I said, Im biased, I don't want nuke ops rounds to go. But, ideally, Id have it go one of two ways. Ops go in, take people hostage, maybe make a public execution or two, make things interesting. When sec fights back, free fire, kill whoever/whatever you need. Alternatively, peaceops, pose as something. I once had an idea and pitched it to OOC about pretending to be escaped slaves who stole their master's/captor's armour and weapons. Fake/Make an injury in your team, get some RP from service staff, medical, and command, and then once and if that dissolves, most people have actually had good, interactive RP.
  4. How isn't a problem with the gamemode? No one would be so win thirsty if the gamemode wasn't there, it would wouldn't be so fierce if Nuke ops weren't given lethal, automatic weapons, armoured hardsuits, and several atmos bombs rightt at the get go, and 40 telecrystals to spend at their leisure.
  5. And isn't that the problem with Nuke? No body cares about anything, and every just wants that juicy green text.
  6. Ive never been beaten by Nuke ops, the reason I don't like Nuke Ops is because the Ops are the ones going for the green text, not the crew. And the only reason Ops do this, is to get their green text.
  7. Several other people have talked about the other things ops can do, and their various cons. Personally, Id still like to see nuke axed, but thats just me.
  8. I asked a question, since when is asking a question demanding anything? *Edit* Oh, look, Cake asked a question while I was writing this. Jackboot, is he demanding that Nuke ops find a different way to deal with AI's?
  9. Im not demanding anything, where have I said that I demand the rules and nuke ops should change? Im saying its an unfun practice, and leads to nothing but an easy way to steam roll over the only force in the entire station that has a snow ball's chance in hell of even hindering you, let alone actually beat them back.
  10. How would the rest of your team had died? If the crew and AI's were actively out to kill you, the team has obviously already had some interaction with the crew. If you tried peaceops, then you already did your job, to a degree, because you at least tried, and that would mean to crew instigated, go nuts. If you were hostile in some other way beside this, then you earned the nails in the coffin. If you tried stealthops and then got caught, well, then you failed doubly so. So, can you answer my question? Beside making the rest of the crew scared and "creating an atmosphere of fear," what RP can be ganered, since all thats going to do is give security a reason to shoot you on sight with whatever weapons they have left?
  11. A difference doing what? Shooting at people? Being shot at because you blew half the station to kingdom come? How is this going to help you make any difference beside make the crew infinitely less difficult to kill?
  12. When was the last time you saw a Nuke Op RPing? Because Ive certainly never seen it happen, and it certainly didn't happen in the complaint I pulled Jackboot's message from. They did that just to cripple security so they could rampage.
  13. If thats the point you want to make, why don't Nuke Ops just bust the window into the captain office, steal the disk right away, and then win instantly? Like you said, they're operatives worth their salt, and the enjoyment of the crew and players are less important than tactics.
  14. Please note Im only posting this here because of the rule in complaints about "irrelevant information." So, if you're saying that, is it ok for ANY antag to get toxins bomb from science, and then bomb all of those locations with out having had any other antagonistic interaction with the station/crew? Im sure if a traitor or Vox did anything like this, they'd get complaints aplenty, and probably end up antag banned, so why are Nuke Ops any different at all? They're way more overpowered than other antags, if anything, shouldn't they be held to higher standards than what they are? Why is "bomb three places, kill, win" alright? Its not fun, and isn't it insanely metagamey to know instantly how, where and when to bomb these three precise location so you can have the best chances?

  16. In the past, Ive had some real good RP with people with Miracle slowly coming out and getting more comfortable with her new arm and stuff. It'd probably prove more useful in an RP sense than some of the other jackets that have been approved and implemented.
  17. This is something I just found myself wondering, what race is the most whitelisted? Barring people who left/got stripped/stopped playing that species, how many times has each species been whitelisted? Before, and if, anyone gives the real answer, I think it'd be fun to see what people think are whitlisted the most and least. Myself, I think Unathi is the most whitelisted, and Diona the least.
  18. I think Meow made a good point that some people have missed. Antags get coddled to the max here, so much so that the map is built to cater to them, and like Meow said, even security doing the logical thing and stopping them, no matter how they do it, will end up with complaints, whether its in LOOC, OOC, ahelp, the forums, and the security officer/s are almost always the bad guy. Security can't be good a lot of the time, because then people will dogpile them for ruining their antag round or something.
  19. I have to agree with Garn, Emily was very good being a Golem, and was very good with having someone RP the ignorance of the Golem's existence, which most people aren't fond of. So, double points for that.
  20. Alisa Keener is now rocking some sick tats. What are her tattoos? Well, why don't you find out?
  21. So, this rule is to rule is to stop peanut gallery-ing and people making posts of no relevance? Yes, I see.
  22. BYOND Key: Jboy2000000 Character Names: Number Eighty-Two, Poslan Kur'yer, Emily O'Harron, Ida Cox, Issek Boyd, Miracle Kifer, Jackson Sullivan, Alisa Keener, Faith Hawkins, Rozhad Alakiv, Candace Grey, Ser Knyght, Diler Zakon, and a few other characters that I haven't played since 2014. Species you are applying to play: Calamari Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Blue-Green Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: This is thanks to this, the "4-5" comes from the fact one of the characters I planned to make was a Skrell, this Skrell, to be exact. Since Boka reminded me that the app in the lore canon app thread was still a thing, I thought Id try to get that thing back up and running again. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The Skrell are anthropomorphic squid people with advanced technology, that say would say is akin to "Underwater Jewish Magic," if you understand the reference. Also known to be prideful of themselves, and their species, however being so in a much more calm, well-mannered way than humans and Unathi do. A large portion of their communication also comes from body language and tonal shift, however those are lost to others because they don't have squid heads, or something, the wiki wasn't very clear on that. They also apparently have some kind of emotional telepathy, but that was a code thing, and I haven't heard anything about that in a long time, so. Character Name: Cyffredinol Pqrts Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs A Weurusian Skrell, born in a small tribe in the swamps of Jargon. He grew and lived as many of his kind did, hard working, proud, and roughly. But, maybe TOO hard working, maybe TOO roughly, and definitely, too proud. Cyffredinol (who for simplicity's sake will hence forth be referred to as "Cyffi") was a miner for his smithy for his tribe. He worked underwater caved for any ore or gems he could find, and then shape them into art, jewelry, and very rarely, tools of war. He was just as proud as the rest of his people, and he would do anything to prove it. Thats what he thought he thought until he was actually asked to do it, though. Recently, the leader of Cyffi's tribe had tried to bare children with his wife. But it didn't go as planned. As much as they tried, she couldn't bare again. Their leader was understandably angry, not as his wife, but at the other half of Skrell. The ones who seemed to live in labs, and did this to his wife, and others, neutering their own people into near sterility. There was nothing he could do for that, but he could do something else. Show the people that Skrell aren't what they perceive them to be, the autonomous, smart alecs, and were praised for what they did. So, he wanted to show people what else Skrell can do, that Skrell could be laborers, strong, proud, and independent. So, to prove this point, they would need to branch from their swamp, touch the stars they thought they'd never see, so they could proof just that point. Cyffi was only one of a hand full to leave, and he was picked to go be a miner again, this time for a company called "Nanotrasen." What do you like about this character? I don't like to follow the norms and tropes that come with various species, thus why I made lizaRD and my preistly Unathi. This is something that I like about this guy. Its different from every single other Skrell who is the captain, or somewhere in science or medical. Plus, the name has origins that make me giggle my figgle. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 8-9/10 Notes:
  23. Only if you you examine, you can't tell by just looking at them as they run by if they have an ID or not, even mousing over them to see their name might not be of help because people on station have weird ass names too.
  24. I like and dislike this, I like it because I love the idea of giving me clothing options to wizards, but at the same time it would give them access to all kinds of uniforms to blend in at first glance, and that feels cheaty to me, for some reason.
