Agreed, this seems to be a shitty way of dealing with the nuke knowledge issue, as for the trying to enforce the ruling on others, that seems to be an IC, CCIA issue, where a character can then be effectively dealt with and possibly perma-punished from the role as that character. I don't even have a head whitelist and even I think this policy is silly and unnecessary.

Put a hard limit on the number of combat cyborgs.
Snoopy11 replied to Ryan Falcorino's topic in Archive
The addition of sprinting has already heavily nerf'd combat borgs enough by taking away one of their crucial advantages, good speed- now they're a lot slower they can't escape shots as they could before. Atop this, they still suffer plenty of disadvantages, and are still rather simple to disable. The single-antag types, wiznerd and ninja can both easily blow up or subvert the borgs. Mercs and heisters get Ionrifles, Tators can get EMP weaponry- though Cborgs are less likely to be called in an autotator round. I don't believe a limit is necessary, as antags should be taking steps to prevent such threats to themselves. Mercs more often than not bomb the armory to stop weapons from being deployed, what's to stop them from grabbing the ionrifles in preparedness to stop a borg? -
For Tajara sprinting it either feels you lose a lot of stamina too quickly, or you don't increase in speed enough to make it worth it. I 'unno how it's been done, but I assume they're sprinters, rather than long distance runners. Meaning they should go a bunch quicker, for short periods, but I just don't feel it at the moment. I also maybe completely wrong.

It was Malfunction when this happened I believe, since I participated in the round as security.

Maybe I should just write up another PHP script to handle this stuff.. Should be relatively simple. Might be a cool idea. I've created a fresh sheet and pretty much copy-pasta'd stuff. But I uh, gotta find out how to get a function to auto-repeat on new rows. I hate spreadsheets.

I think it's time we have a re-do of the sheet. Create from afresh, maybe shunt the old onto a new page.

I was Azza Nazkiin this round, and I directly observed the events that took place and I can say what did take place was shitty roleplay. We found the wizard in the medical bay maintenance area, and I had been talking for them for some time, to get them to see reason, to come to the brig, to hand themselves over and stop what they were doing. The conversation was, although like going around like a broken record, taking place and slowly getting somewhere. Queue Jorven enters the maintenance area where we were located, dragging a pump. The wizard was standing in the way of the maint area. I believe I had told he and the detective to leave, and again, but the second time was cut short due to the lack of air being in the area. Now this is where I take issue, due to the wizard refusing to get out of the way, Jorven pulls out a welding tool, lights it, and runs at the wizard and attacks. While security was there, in plain sight, dealing with the situation of a volatile, clearly dangerous person who has caused more than a few explosions. I believe in my own opinion this constituted as shitty roleplay, and that realistically you wouldn't run up to attack someone while armed forces are there dealing with the situation.

[Accepted]Lohikar's Head of Staff Application

+1 Riley Finlay is a character who people know as competent, and not someone to stir the pot. Generally a very background type of person unless you work in engineering, and I like that about the character and Loh's ability to ArrPee them correctly. -
Are we talking about hud icons or the chasis we pick when picking a module?

[Denied] Eternias' Tajaran Whitelist Application
Snoopy11 replied to Eternias's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I had the delight of Theo pulling my slightly warm brain, from my going cold corpse during an antag round. He portrayed the not want to do it, the regret, and continued the RP though altered into later rounds which I thought was very neat and proved the ability to play someone with conflicting emotions. The backstory seems a little iffy with the survival thing, but we all make characters that can be a bit snowflakey, on an RP server. +1 -
[Inactive]Staff Complaint: CakeisOssim
Snoopy11 replied to Nanako's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Draining the AI of power isn't necessarily a strategy that would work on the station either, as the AI has it's own smes. It would involve either cutting a specific wire, or disabling the command smes completely. The benefit that Tcom provides, is it stops engineering from emitter drilling in from either side of the commandstation, which is very, very common. Tcom also has a many arrays of solars, that could be mapped to work for power, but I'm going to make an assumption and say a magical generator was put it to reduce the load of the solars having to track the sun position, get power, continuously calculate positions, etcetra. -

Telecoms is powered by a weird mechanic, however it can be disabled with EMPs as proven lastnight, and it can also be depowered remotely via an RCON console. -

I was the borg Legatus. I was ordered to move the AI, I wasn't really told where other than Tsat. The AI did not order me to place him between walls, to take the time consuming process of taking down a reinforced wall and getting them all cozy inside, I did this as an interpretation of the order to move them to safe a place. The way we executed the move was not through a wall, but instead just luck, distraction and lots of pulling. The AI pulled fire alarms and locked doors, before I pulled it from the core, dragged it through the HALLWAYS and into the teleporter room whereupon I pushed the AI's core through. If the crew couldn't find the AI, if we hadn't been so obviously found, the real way of finding the AI would have been to capture the person, myself, who hid them and make them tell you. This can be done through removing the positronic brain from the chasis, or unlinking and resetting me- this has been done before with other Malfs and I was even involved in one of them where we had the brain of the borg tell us where the AI was hidden. Ultimately an EMP really messed up the AI, and my own fortifications of the Tsat site also gave away our location pretty easily, not to mention the glaringly obvious spot of wall that was darker and made out of a different material than the rest. -
Give security basic department access to science, medical, etc
Snoopy11 replied to Filthyfrankster's topic in Archive
I support the idea, on the basis that it becomes code specific. Code green, sure, you still need help getting in but it stops unwarranted stuff from happening too. Code blue should allow for basic access to departments, as stated above. Now I don't wanna say full access for red, but if it is red, then you're probably assisting the station in some way anyway so the basic access should probably do. -
I believe some police/forces us some kind of binder that goes around the torso, so they strap and restrain the arm against themselves for something like that. So basically, make zipties able to do so?

Well fuck, that's news to me. This suggestion seems moot then.

[INACTIVE]Complaint on Nia Synder (Abendorth)
Snoopy11 replied to sonicgotnuked's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I played Legatus this round, I brought the Ninja in peacefully, and even accidentally let the ninja escape after being baton'd down while apparently typing. I wasn't fan of what happened, myself. But I will post to back up a couple of members of sec that round. When the detainment happened with Nia, Legatus, Lukas Chapman, a Unathi officer, and the HoS were meeting in the briefing room to discuss how we can detain them, get the suit off of them, while doing so with reasonable escalation of force. However they were brought into security just as we agreed to an action plan. We were ordered to take the ninja to robotics, to have the suit removed. This is where the, quote unquote, accidental releasing happened. This is where the escalation went to lethal, as they went to the HoP's office and had slit the HoP's throat. Though later, we offered the Ninja many times and gave them many opportunities to submit to security, as they had been wounded. We got no reply, as such they were assumed critically wounded or refusing. The AI reported they had gone through the teleporter. I, and Nuk3 the other borg, met up there to go through, where upon I told the crewmen to not go through as it may go to space. I go in, cue Nuke appearing, then another officer, before a fourth. Nia Syder, and Ashley Dawnguard- there was a little OOC pause here, while the ninja got to grips with the hand tele. They ran, using the hand-tele, which went to the bridge. People shot, and stunned the ninja down. Deadman's switch, the bridge goes up in flames. This was my side of things, I felt there was reasonable escalation from my side, the HoS', and the Captain's. I don't believe all of security was the issue here, but a select few- admittedly this report is about a singular person, but I felt I should add myside of things for anyone who needs the short-story. -
Currently when disabled through any means, other than of course, temporary stuns like flashing or a small EMP that doesn't drain it's battery completely, borgs are left in a state where they cannot see, hear, or listen to anything that's going on- this makes sense from the perspective of their body, but OOCly it's a tad bit shit to get stuck in that position where you really can't see anything; which leaves us with the decision, should we ghost to actually see something, or further wait the time for someone to maybe rescue us. I've been caught in situations where the messaging server is down, and the current ongoings haven't resolved for thirty minutes or more. This leaves you in the position, do you ghost to watch the round, whereupon you can no longer contribute if your body is inevitably moved or repaired, as you can no longer repair it. This is my suggestion, the idea I had in mind would be the same mechanics or similar mechanics as the AI has when it begins losing power. After a certain amount of time, the brain will go into a low-power state also, ghosting the player, but keeping it assigned as their corpse. The brain or circuit board will require some kind of power, possibly sticking them into a recharger, or even the AI restorer? Maybe a shitty idea, but one I felt might be needed?

Old tasers were kinda shit, the meta was, hit once with a taser, then laser them to death. It's cheap, and was shit. -1

I'd like to see the ability to blow up borgs from laptops gone, that's... kind of awful. That's a good buff, there- maybe add an ability to remove/de-activate the destruction mechanisms in borgs, or something.

1+ to bringing Bay's wizwoz stuff to us. We're using the old Wizwoz stuff, created by TG originally yonks ago. Not really made for Arrrpeee.

The idea of Beepsky chasing me through doors is terrifying and hilarious. And it should probably be do-able. +1 -
I think Roderick as a person is okay, but the character Helper is a nightmare. Sometimes funny, sometimes, but the majority of the time they are a complete pain in the ass; needs to be rethought or scrapped. One funny moment I can say, is when it changed it's voice into windchimes, legitimately funny, proceeding when the robot got an anti-tank rifle and broke themselves out of communal as an antag. The character has potential to be good, someone to remember. But Roderick has over-saturated Helper's use and it has become a pain to deal with, OOCly and ICly.

[DENIED]Sec-ban appeal. Roderick Grey.
Snoopy11 replied to Roderick Grey's topic in Unban Requests Archive
I've had a few interactions with Roderick's characters as someone who has played as security a member of security, and another character who used to get arrested a tad much on the regular. My two cents is that Roderick has improved, a lot, I'd say. However if the general consensus is that his sec play is bad, then why not a cadet-unbanning instead and leaving the other slots restricted; it's a very restricted role in terms of access and what you do/should do.
