I know this isn’t a huge issue but adding the shuttle here leaves no room for visiting shuttles to land, right? All visiting ships would be connecting at the 3rd deck docking arms? Not a huge issue I suppose but there’s no piping up to the 3rd deck arms for refueling or anything like that, not that all shuttles are standardized for those ports anyway. I suppose if you really wanted to use the hangar you could move a ship out. Honestly with the Leviathan gone and that wide open room in maint near research on deck 2 it would be neat to have a dedicated research dock which would prevent potentially dangerous anomalies from entering the public hangar areas at all. Not saying that what you’ve got here is lacking in anyway, just spitballing.

+1 Acetrea is always a delight to interact with and this endorsement is definitely not being made under duress.

BYOND Key: Evandorf Discord Username: Evandorf Character Name: Suvek Tokash Item Name: Consular Mantle Item Function(s): Clothing w/ pockets Item Description: A long, ornate, and somewhat extravagant cloak-like mantle. Fashioned with Hegemony colors, it serves as a symbol of the wearer's station and allegiance. Scenes of Unathi history and legend etched into the golden crest surmount the trailing, blood-red fabric. Why is your character bringing this item to work?: This item goes hand-in-hand with a career change from Head of Security to Consular. Not only does it serve as a badge of office but it also helps highlight the shift in priorities. Tokash is not ostentatious by nature, but a representative of the Hegemony must impress upon those he meets both the high rank of his station and the wealth and power of the civilization he represents. How did your character obtain this item?: Tokash belongs to a wealthy merchant clan from Skalamar. Though he has no real love for business, his family has decided that he also needs to represent his clan as well as the Hegemon. The mantle was a gift from his brother; a way for his family to ensure he is keeping up proper appearances and to showcase their own wealth and power within the Hegemony. What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: Since the Mudki arc, Tokash has taken a leave of absence and has continued working on Moghes to aid restoration efforts. His years spent away from home have given him an appreciation for the benefits other races can provide. He is of a similar mind with the Hegemon that unathi need to build diplomatic ties with others like the skrell in order to have the best chance to restore the planet. He also believes working as consular aboard the conglomerate's flagship will offer plenty of opportunities to make connections and find support for the Hegemony and Moghes' restoration. The mantle will be a physical representation of his position. For a traditionally minded unathi, a drastic shift in career can uproot your sense of self more than it might for others. Tokash has been entrenched in the Warrior mindset for a long time, though he has been softening over the years. In a society where your outward projection of self is sometimes taken as literal truth, items like clothing can help ground your identity. The fact that it was a gift from his family and the importance of the work he'll be doing will also make him feel obligated to wear it. Sprites: tokash_mantle.dmi Additional Comments: Part of this application is also in regards to a custom item I have; a shark wall trophy. I feel like it's frowned upon for someone to have too many personal items. At least that was the situation back when I requested my original two. Since the shark trophy was made there have been changes to the space carp/sharks and they look much less like their earthly cousins. I don't know if there is a limit on the number of personal items you can have but if necessary I'd want to replace the tophy with this mantle going forward.

[DENIED] GregorySmash - AI application attempt 2
Evandorf replied to Gregory's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Hey, thanks for applying. Unfortunately, we'll have to deny the application for the time being due to a lack of activity on the server since your previous application and there hasn't been sufficient opportunity to see that the concerns raised were addressed. If you have any questions, please feel free to DM me here or reach out on discord. -

Which Simple Mobs Should Have Their Smart Targeting Disabled?
Evandorf replied to WickedCybs's topic in Suggestions & Ideas
It should be based on gameplay considerations, IMO. Tanky mobs should dodge less and easy to kill mobs should dodge more. You don’t want to trivialize the more fragile hostile mobs and you don’t want to make the stronger ones OP. -
Misc Policy; Headmin/Dev Elections, Complaints, etc.
Evandorf replied to dessysalta's topic in Policy Suggestions
My two cents are that truthful communication is good for any relationship, including that between the community and the staff. Can we have more transparency and can understanding of staff procedure be improved? Sure, but if you have concerns or don’t understand how the process works you also need to ask and let us know where the breakdown is happening. That being said, dissatisfaction with a staff decision doesn’t necessarily mean a mistake was made on the staff member’s part and, contrary to popular opinion, all staff complaints are given due scrutiny. In the interest of being completely candid, I think you’re still coming from a very emotional place regarding your past complaints and while I see you and think your feelings are valid, sweeping changes like what you suggest should be unbiased. -

Normal anomalies are technically typed as machinery and their effects come from machinery code so unfortunately in order to make the statuette into the same would effectively require remaking it from the ground up. I went back and looked at it again and it seems like it might all be self-contained in artifact_unknown.dm. So maybe not as much work. I think it would be worth it but it’s also the reason I made an alternative way of handling it first.
