As someone with a Diona Detective, the idea of giving them Plant Spray is horrifying and also amusing.

Yeah, what they said. People tend to forget about throwaway characters and events, mostly because we've enough throwaway characters and events that it'd be un-fun to try and remember them all. So just try and be memorable for something else. I mean, a great deal of the server population, myself included, has done some stuff we'd rather want people to forget, and have somehow managed to pull it off. Oh, and on character and stuffs. Try talking to people. Just make small talk. Really works. Just don't forget to do your job (If you're not an assistant.)

Clarification: You don't play to win. You play to make the game fun for everyone else. Don't be passive. Provide a fun experience for the rest of the players. That's what it means. Gank is not fun for other players. It lacks any elegance or intrigue, and takes someone else out of the game when you really didn't have to. Additionally: It's called Rp-Revolution because that's the big, general theme, not the specific thing thats going to happen. Nuke is still called Nuke, even though I've only ever seen one nuke team go for the nuke in 4 months. We have Objectionless Antags. As an Antag, you can Do Anything You Want, so long as it makes the round fun for everyone. (But ahelp before doing extreme stuff.) -

And here's the only part of the logs that are actually revelevent: Don't give the logs for an entire round as evidence when only half are important, at most. Edit: Read this : http://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Misconceptions There is a little part at the very end about Antag roles. It may explain why you diagree with Pump about this. That's all I'm going say. -
~@NewsWorthy~this is amazing. it's like i don't even need to actually leave home to report on news anymore.#Cool#Hashtags#NewAgeJournalism Sabrina Song

It would be nice if people talked to the people at counters more often. Especially if their job forced them to hang around a certain place all round.

Eh, these aren't necessarily canon-backed answers, but they're what I use, and my whitelist isn't gone yet, so: 1: So, an adult is a gestalt Diona, which means it's technically several of what might be recognized as individual diona. A nymph is theoretically just another one of the more basic forms of the diona, with all the other viney leafy stuffs to be other forms of nymph-level diona. Diona don't necessarily learn very fast, mostly because they're rather indepth thinkers. So, as a compenstation, they network into gestalts. So a Diona's age is a bit iffy. Either you could measure it as the total sum of the age of their parts (Which is huge), or as the eldest networked part (Which is probably the number on your records.) 2: Yeah, again, Diona can grasp knowledge fairly fast, but they're deep thinkers, and it takes them a great deal of time to internalize and network their knowledge. A human-sized Diona gestalt can be assumed to be about as skilled averagely as a human of the same age, but I'm just basing that on how the skill system works. Larger Diona gestalts can be assumed to have much greater pools of knowledge. 3: Adults are made of more basic forms of Diona. Nymphs are a more basic form of Diona. It can be assumed there are other more basic forms of Diona, since having the Diona are visibly more viney and leafy then the relatively compact Nymphs. But, these aren't back by any wiki-canon, so if the lore team reagrees, assume they're right and I'm wrong.

So, the other day, Rusty brought up in the team speak that it's way hard to remember all the characters and who plays them. So here, have a thread, all about listing characters and who plays them. Just post a list of your characters, and I'll edit it to the OP, with maybe like, a sentence description. Or not. I dunno. Just do it. 1138/Boss/Delta/Thirty-Eight/Cuddles (OneOneThreeEight) Vira De Santos: Unconventional, sassy Hispanic captain. Hardin Stryker: Cheery, middle-aged, and overly friendly Chief Engineer. Bertor: IPC with assassin-droid remnant programming. Often falls prey to Syndicate unit reacquisition. General disdain for living organics, excluding Dionaea. Rebecca De Santos: Younger sister of Vira. A bit less confident in herself. Has skills as Federal Navy Police, regulating crime within her regiment in the Eridani Federal Navy, lends her skills to NT as a Warden or an Officer from time to time. Donovan Mitchell: Former uni professor in the EE system. Functions as a positive-thinking psychologist or a EMT. Old, wisened, and generally a pleasant person to be around. Dima Ruslanovich: Was previously part of a survivalistic humanitarian socialist party before the Sol Alliance swooped down and revived the Earth. The faction is now either dormant or completely dissolved./Was a Riot Control Officer for the Alliance for a few years after Nova Terra was reborn./Has two children, Artem and Anya, and a wife he loves very much, Dala./Has a particular affinity for fine wine, rather than vodka./Is actually extremely friendly. When drunk, he's a mix between a happy/very analytical drunk. Like, he'll ask really stupid, but somewhat meaningful, questions. Talia Varick: Was nominated twice for awards regarding advances in Bluespace Theories. She didn't win either of them, obviously. /Originates from the Epsilon Eridani Ursae system, like many aspiring researchers./ Recently, if you call a year or two recent, came out of an abusive relationship. She currently is challenging custody for her three children. Alicia Jewel Maria Pendergraft: Shy, timid lab assistant who's rarely seen without Rose Miller. Julia Davis: Plucky shaft miner with a robotic right arm. Patricia Stoddard: Perfectionist xenoarchaeologist with a superiority complex. Lucy Johnson: A xenobiologist who likes the slimes just a little too much. Isabella Broomhall: Overly-polite EMT who cares more about the patients than the rules. Luta Yut: Super-serious skrell xenobiologist. Tends to be an isolationist due to her job. Robert Hoffman: A surgeon who takes his job very seriously while still managing to have good bedside manner. Doesn't like it when trained professionals screw up. Baka (Bakagaijin) Samantha Mason- A doctor of internal medication, Samantha is best known for being neurotic, having a speech impediment, and has a penchant for mice. Maxwell Mason- A roughneck cargo worker, Maxwell has a very short-fuse and yells in gutter about everyone, but deep down he wants to earn his day in the sun. Gregory Mason- A retired senior Chief Medical Officer and Head of Personnel, Gregory is a cold, no-nonsense, flat man. Random Tajarans Random Dionea Bokaza Tony Adams - First character I invested in, currenty off station after being diagnosed as a psychopath, schizophrenic and bipolar at the same time. A medical wander. Possibly gonna void him on reason of being too snowflaky. Elena Raschnikova - Captain with slavic roots, agressive diplomat, will use threats and force to get what she wants. My favorite char. Davis Wintzel - A bald and bearded scientist/xenoarchaeologist. Only thing he loves more than his job is arguing with crew he finds are his intellectual peers. Canon35 Imraj Brar-ERT Trooper, Security Officer, Emergency Physician, Station's resident Grump. Chaznoodles Kyr Sunder: A rather devout Chaplain with a perchance for fanaticism. Has a habit of burning vampires accidentally. Fell Lansden: A fitness coach-turned chef, enjoys making nutritional shakes out of blended meat and milk. Lyric Oneal: A mute all-purpose woman. Chainsmoker and borderline alcoholic Conspire2Ignite Kay Lee - That Engineer. You know, the one with the ellipses and a love of chocolate and a questionable gender. Scarlet Kent - That Psychologist. You know, the one that asks the weird questions and hates her job and has a twin. RONI - That Robot. You know, the one that is seen and heard and forgotten. Crescentise Main: Luna Fountain - Dainty, cadaverous and mentally-ill human on the cusp of adulthood. Having arrived on the station by questionable means, with no formal higher education, she appears to be doomed to a 'career' of multi-departmental apprenticeships. Shy and nervous around most, especially authority figures, but turns affectionate and mischievous when around her partner Roy Wyatt comfortable. Vitaly Zheleznikov - Competent and affectedly friendly human surgeon whose principal interests include autopsies, manipulation, and candlelit dinners. Is a psychiatric black hole; while most attempts at understanding his true nature have been ineffectual, the few that have struck close have resulted in ruin. Will readily fuck anyone regardless of age, gender, or race. The Others: Dea Tacita Atalanta Cascadia - Adventurous, Space-loving Chief Engineer. Extremely loyal to her staff, but follows N.T. regulations strictly as she fears losing her job. Zelda Hyvarinen - Extremely scarred Bartender who's rather upbeat and optimistic despite her appearance. Voen Cath - A Skrellian security officer of rather few words. Aeden Nehling - An asshole scientist, who prefers to work alone, and is addicted to coffee. Garry Milders - A fabulous doctor Erik Tiber Lockie Green - Neurotic, overly-friendly half-Turkish doctor. She's affectionate, socially inept, and very naive, especially for a 34 year old. She's very submissive to the point of dysfunction, unless she believes one of her patients to be in danger. She's prone to panic in extreme situations, and can be very loud when she does. Zheng Lu - Shithead 29 year old cargo tech/quartermaster, speaks in unintelligible Singlish. Curses constantly and calls everyone a chee bye. A braggart who projects a 'tough guy' persona, despite being a coward who's never done anything more serious than petty theft. He'd be willing to give up anything to save his own ass. He's previously worked as a chef at a restaurant and as a maintenance/cargo tech aboard a freighter. His synthetic eyes glow different colors depending on his mood, and his arms are top of the line. He has a strong hatred for almost all Unathi. Lawful Evil. Peter Thrushwood: an ex-privateer turned security officer, due to the NT Privateer Amnesty Initiative. One-eyed, vaguely Scottish, and not the sharpest tool in the shed, Peter is something of a source of comic relief. Is not above taking bribes, but is still an obedient security officer. Chaotic neutral. Sarge: a military grade IPC, part of the Sol Alliance Cybernetic Brigade. He served as a soldier for the first 20 years of his "life", before damaged sustained in combat caused an irreversible glitch in his personality parameters, whereupon he was sold to NT for security service. Sarge now walks, talks, and acts like your stereotypical 1970s-80s American GI, complete with a graphic of a cigar-chewing soldier's face on his screen. Shows contempt for his "inferior" organic crew mates, often referring to them as: meatbags, bloodsacks, gutbuckets, pinkos, gooks, Commies and Japs. The problem is that worms can be faster than humans, allowing them to quickly close the gap between them and shove the mook right into their mouth. Space Worms can be killed easy if you power game their weaknesses. That said, without abusing game mechanics for the win, they're rather strong in direct combat. Probably your best shot is calling science and asking for AEGs, since their downsides are almost entirely counteracted by the fact spaceworms like to get all close and personal with you, and eat you alive. Or take drugs from the chemist to go faster. Meh. In retrospect, both of those are already pretty gamey.

Hmm, are some of these at least going to be accessable via the telepad? Becauase telesci could always use more places to loot. Preferably places with more backstory to them, than Syndies blew up our station.
-
Security started spinning. Ours was the drill that would pierce the heavens. Skull showed up. It was very amusing.
-
So, we ever going to do this?

Bald Polish, for balds. Balds have a chance to spawn with Bald Polish. So they can polish their balds. BSTs get them too. To polish other's balds. Even the cats.

So, I'm going to do a silly thing and peanut gallery a bit simply because a whole lot of what you've said is wrong. -End-round grief is punishable by an automatic 3-day ban. The moment the shuttle docks with the station, all conflict is expected to end in and around the shuttle boarding area. (Escape and adjacent corridor). Ahelp it first. That's just about being polite. Two hours is the required time before you can call a vote. The game is not over just because the Antag has been captured. Don't be hostile to staff or others in OOC. Again. -End-round grief is punishable by an automatic 3-day ban. The moment the shuttle docks with the station, all conflict is expected to end in and around the shuttle boarding area. (Escape and adjacent corridor). Admins do not need to warn you. It is your own fault if you didn't take the time to read the rules. Muting the entire OOC is a good way to shut up any other talk about you and your behavior. I know I would be bitching in OOC about the guy who was bitching in OOC and was muted, probably going at least 5 minutes before realizing the irony. Then I would talk in OOC about the irony. Plus, what did you do to get OOC muted by Scopes? Scopes is a pretty reasonable person. Suiciding - Typically suicide is not allowed, and normally it's bad RP and against the rules. If you have to go SSD, just go SSD. - If you are thinking about suiciding, it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED you ahelp to get approval first. - Allowing someone to kill your character (or vice-versa) does not make it ok. In other words: consent of the SSD being killed does not make it ok; the SSD and their killer will be punished for it. Seriously, you lucked out that Tish gave you a one day ban.

As fun as that sounds, misused defibrillators are basically stun batons that have a chance to kill last I checked, could be very dangerous. The smart Defibs, that check for a heart beat first.
-
" My hands are equiped with defibrillators. Clear." That needs to happen.
-
Dwarf Fortress is like a giant unicycle powered by an unstable nuclear reactor, roaring uncontrollably at Mach V. Once you get back on the bike, you have a significant motivation to crash it.
-
Camera that works as a flash. Either as a normal flash, with same number of uses, or a 3x3 stun effect that can be only used once.

In regards to #5. If peoples are doing that, then that RD is very stupid for two points. Firstly, it's a security threat, because firing weapons in testing conditions and firing in actual combat is very different, and Scientists should not be expected to have actual combat training, so they're more then likely to kill people then save people. Second point, RD doesn't need weapons. Research has a lockdown button, that blastshields every possible entrance to the department. Second point is, a good RD doesn't need weapons. A stack of 50 metal, that's all you need. Nuke Ops won't stand a chance.

You forgot the step involving using virology to actually create SpessAIDs, the part involving getting banned for being a self antaging punk. Also, the part involving everyone in the TS dying of laughter.
-
I'm up for this as well. 4016 just released always, so that's certainly an option.

That's like calling a Golem, a Golem, instead of like, a Metamorphic Bluespace Entity. It's boring, and not very creative. There are plenty of other good words to choose from. Plus, the word Cult is very offensive, implying mindless devotion.
