    Apology

My internet got shut off just this round and I have no way to pager anyone since BYOND isn't mobile. So uh, sorry for going SSD at a most inopportune time. EDIT: it might be back soon, at the very most 30 minutes.
  2. I just I'd let everyone, she doesn't work in sec anymore, it was like a two (IRL) day stint. Also on the diamond thief part, the player of Laurine Livingstone (Ove?) And I saw Phoebe pocket a diamond, and I reported it to Seon. Phoebe might have returned the diamonds, but the director didn't verify to me if she did, so I didn't believe her claim. Also, the fondling of the stripped captain was a bit much. I was the rev who wound up letting him go and it made me a bit uncomfortable.
  3. I like RPing with Seon-rin a lot, she adds tons of entertainment for me in the work place, but I think the mischievousness should dial back to Villia Moon levels to avoid getting fired. I'm OOCly a massive fan of the Essel-Illdenberg drama, sometimes I laugh so hard at their back and forth that it hurts, but I think the magnitude of it might be stressful to other players. I definitely think you should avoid physical fighting though, as much as possible, because it seems like the ice under Seon's job is wafer thin at the moment and I'd be sad if she was fired.

  5. Was this last night? Because I recall you being banned for self-antagonizing and stealing the bar shotgun. Upon being found out, you decided to force security into having to hunt you down on the science outpost. Which also led to an innocent person being arrested because of the fact you were hiding behind a fellow scientist's back, so it made it look like they were an accomplice. The same round in which, one vampire was doing their stuff and mindslaving folks. You know, the actual antagonist? Which wasn't you. My question is why the ban is labelled that you merely stole a waistcoat and not the full fucking list of charges that you/your character had accrued in a single round. To clarify on the science outpost escapade, I was a vampire and attempted to leverage relations I had with female members of the crew to get thralls. I knowingly harbored Seon as a fugitive so that I could take a hefty blood sample, and then feigned not hearing the calls for her arrest using the excuse that public comms were often devoid of meaningful information, acted very politely with the security officers to seem innocent, and then went on to get two thralls and kill a dude. I didn't get to enthrall her because of 1. The antag ban and 2. I hadn't had enough blood at the time. So I let her take the fall to security. I was also actively encouraging her to flee to the outpost so that I could accomplish these goals. EDIT: That said, I don't know what happened at the bar, and so I'm no authority on that portion of it.
  6. So, I both like and don't like this idea as a scientist. Pros: *Can recharge weapons instead of printing new ones *Facilitates weapons testing *Helps science antags who might be going the high-tech route Cons: *Lab assistants *Might encourage a resurgence of science militia *Could encourage chucklefuckery *Might make antagging in research too easy I think that if this was done, the weapon charger should probably be in the RD's office. All though it would be a pain without RD's on, and possibly a pain for the RD to have to recharge weapons for researchers, I think that it would provide some balance to these issues. It would force weapons testing to be somewhat supervised by an active head in order to get them recharged.
  7. MONGOLIA'S GOT TALENT EDITION Evidently they do...
  8. What? No pun? You could've thought of something! wat r u wering right now?? My MVD BDUs. You want in on this tactical espionage action bby?
  9. What? No pun? You could've thought of something!
  10. So I just want to say, Bling has been interim research director multiple times and has done a great job at it so far by keeping the whole department in check, while still being a good boss. He really should get this to just cut out the HoP part of it and let him be director.
  11. We all know you were watching "Top 3 Kissing Pranks 2015! Kissing Prank GONE SEXUAL! Best Kissing Prank June 2015"

  13. Good point. Too many GMs are light handed if you ask me.
  14. Down arrow key. You must become the mad scientist.
  15. Apparently I'm a jaded outcast. But I think the list really fails to account for tabletop games. Completely. Also, no Aurora 4x? Lame.
  16. Tell me about Fraser... why does he wear the mask?
  17. All right, I suppose I didn't know as much about antimatter. Yeah, I knew it would take an unfeasible amount of time, but with the marvels of the future, I didn't really know what technological capabilities everyone possessed. In light of all this, it makes a plenty of sense that it hasn't been done, and is rather unfeasible. Thanks everyone for the responses!
  18. All right, I just figured I'd ask. There's just a lot of flexibility with these types of things since you can know exactly how much energy would be in your explosion. It wouldn't necessarily have to be planet ending, as just half a kilogram of antimatter reacting with half a kilogram of its matter equivalent would be about 21 Megatons, which is less than half the yield of the Tsara Bomba. And such an explosion wouldn't leave behind all those pesky radioactive isotopes for long term damage like a nuclear bomb does. The penny pinching part makes the very most sense, but already there are thousands of particle accelerators in operation, with antimatter as a natural byproduct if they're in the business of particle colliding. What are the limits of the Luna Convention? Edit: 30,000 accelerator facilities in operation today, not including accelerators like, say, CRTs. Much like most E&M research is completed today, theoretically most research that could be gained by accelerating particles could be done in the future, making the maintenance and usage of particle accelerators largely pointless. But that's speculation.
  19. So, I was talking about physics with a lab assistant and we came around the subject of matter antimatter reactions. The assistant asked me if this has been done, and well, I didn't have an answer. I know that it takes an astonishingly long amount of time to create antimatter through particle colliders, but it stands to reckon that a large galactic force with technological sophistication like the sol alliance, or the skrell, could have theoretically gathered enough antimatter to actually make a matter-antimatter bomb. So, has it been done?
  20. I didn't see the duty officer at all on the station... is firing Syion literally the only reason he came onto the station?
  21. I didn't want to ask while the round was still going, but what happened?
  22. Geez, talk about a murderboner. Let's put on that bandoleer and head west to that tall structure, keeping with the theme of not trusting strangers and looting.
  23. Not a bad read for building an understanding of E&M, the examples could be better though, or at least show more work than they do.
  24. Off-topic will never be the same again. I'm kinda sad that I didn't get to know him better.
