Animals are amazing. And I love them. And I don't doubt that mice are, indeed, pretty clever. However, I still got to see a real mouse pointing at something. Befriending someone, being their pet, being trained to do tricks and all that stuff is completely fine and reasonable for a mouse and thus it is acceptable for "mouse RP". Now, mice are simply not able to point at stuff unless trained (I'm unaware of the training capabilities of a mice), because they simply don't understand pointing at something may indicate others any information. In fact, I really doubt they can even think a person can help them get the item, or anything. It's simply not realistic. PS: I feel a bit dumb about posting here about this, but, well.

[ACCEPTED] Juani2400's Moderator application
Juani2400 replied to Juani2400's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
The witness was a moderator who was watching the scene. By your attitude, you were clearly looking for someone to blame about me not taking any actions. You asked me if the moderator who saw the scene were certain persons who were online at that time, because you 'knew' they were biased against you, besides being blatantly rude to the reported player when you PM'd me. Your attitude was not right, and I acted lawfully at all times, being supported by the rest of Administrators and Moderators on at that time. So far, I have only treated with you once in my entire trial, and I do not think this situation gave you such a general perspective about me being 'biased', 'pressured by friendship', to know if I am or not a decent Trial Moderator or to even know if I have or not a desire 'to fit'. Thank you for the feedback. EDIT: I have the full list of administrators and moderators who gave their opinion on this when it happened. It will be disclosed upon contact, if needed. -
This should be reported in our Github, not here. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/issues Just open a new issue and supply all the information you have supplied here. Thanks.

Yes. The images here do not longer represent the current state of the map, nor it shows the entirety of the map! Considering this, could we get updated pictures? I'm also really interested on the progress of the infrastructure of the station (Pipes, wires and disposals). Could we get a progress update on that with examples? I'm not really allowed to show the map, as that's a task for the Lead Mapper. Piping and wiring has been done, and the map is now considered finished. We are just waiting for the developers to complete their part, which is not easy. The map project has been assigned a high priority in the dev. team and assigned developers are working actively on all the features that it needs in order to be fully finished (elevators, different events than the ones we currently have, asteroid stuff...).

Yes. Definitely a +1 from me. I've interacted a lot with Chapman and I've played with you several times. You'd make a great HoS. EDIT: I have been playing Captain and I have been giving Chapman interim lately, so he can train and I can get a better view on how he'd act as HoS. He has done great these 3 shifts he has been made interim. Great RP, as always, and good tactics and decisions. Again, +1. -

[Accepted]Juani2400's Skrell Application!
Juani2400 replied to Juani2400's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Yes! What I meant is that they lived in the capital city of Aliose, as there are no listed cities for Aliose and could not find a name. I will expand on the application later! I didn't want to write a lot and basically trimmed a bit the story I had for him to a more reasonable size. I will, however, expand on this shortly. I'll modify that part of the application to fit better the description of the planet. However, it said in the lore that the Skrell tend terraform their planets in order to make them more habitable, so I just understood that Aliose was also, at least, slightly terraformed to adapt it to their nature. Thanks for the support to the both of you! I'll fix it soon! -
BYOND Key: Juani2400. Character Names: Azra Kouri (CMO, MD), Bassan Saqqaf (CE), Ibrahim Al-Enezi (Engine Tech.), Laetitia Romilly (Captain), Ra'd Sarraf (HoS, Sec. Officer), Amanda Maddox (HoS), C.B.N. (Cyborg). Species you are applying to play: Skrell. What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Light green. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I have been looking forward to play a new species for some time in order to look for new RP opportunities and, after reviewing the other races, I've found Skrell is one of the most appealing to me. The lore about the species is quite interesting and the fact that they are represented as very serious, calm, silent and intelligent people interests me and I think it could lead me into other types of roleplay than what I do with my current characters. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: First of all, one of the main differences it's their social behaviour with other species other than theirs, which tends to involve short, emotion-less statements, as they lack the ability to express those with ease speaking in Tau Ceti Common and are always looking for the best word efficiency. This, however, does not happen in their original language, Skrellian. Skrells are also the most advanced species in the known galaxy and the fact that they can live up to 450 years in most of the cases, makes the older individuals of this species to be extremely experienced and intelligent. Skrells are also largely asexual, usually not having desire to engage in romantic relationships. Mechanically, there's not a big difference between Humans and Skrell, other than the different ways of speaking and the diet, which is mainly based on vegetables. Skrells also cannot wear regular human helmets, and must use specially adapted ones. Character Name: Vera'Qaule Weqrr-Xeblakk (Male, 176 years old.) Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Vera'Qaule was born in Jargon V, planet also known as Aliose, specifically, at the capital city of said planet. Vera'Qaule had a pretty regular childhood; he spent most of the day out of his house playing with a few friends of his neighbourhood at a near artificial swamp. At that time, his marks at school weren't the best, and was often forbidden by his parents to go out and forced to study for the afternoon. Vera'Qaule didn't know what he wanted to study, and spent most of his teenage years not worrying about that. His parents, both scientists in one of the underground scientific bases of the planet, tried to convince Vera to follow the same path, but he didn't really enjoy Science. When he reached adulthood, he started working as a store clerk in a local shop. He worked in the shop for about six years, before eventually getting tired of it and thinking about getting a better job. Vera, however, was aware that he could not get a much better job without actually making the effort to, and that he would need to study. Vera's family, other than his parents, lived in the capital planet of Jargo IV, and it was pretty usual for him and his family to go to their city's space port to take a shuttle to Jargo IV in order to visit their relatives. On one of their trips, Vera, after passing through the customs, asked himself what would he need to do go to get a job as one of the officers. A few months later, Vera applied for a position as a customs officer, and successfully passed the recruitment process, and entered the formation stage. He spent two years at the academy, being trained on what would be his job just after the training. He worked as a customs officer for more than twenty years. Eventually, Vera'Qaule got tired of his job, as he didn't see himself working on the same place for the rest of this long life. At that time, Vera had developed a liking for everything related to Economics. For the first time, Vera had decided that he wanted to go to the university and study something related to Economics, and maybe get a work in the field. Vera'Qaule didn't leave his job as a customs officer while he was studying, as he needed the income, so he took longer than usual to get the bachelors degree in Economics and Business Administration. After eight years of studying and working at the same time, Vera finally finished his studies, and applied to several companies of the financial sector. He spent at least another thirty years of his life working in the economics field in minor executive roles, in the private sector. One day, Vera, while reading the newspaper, noticed that Nanotrasen was looking for qualified and experienced people to fulfil a Human Resources Director assistant position. Vera, who was a bit tired already of his job, decided to go ahead and give it a try. He got accepted. Vera got eventually promoted to a full Human Resources Director and got transferred from station to station and from ship to ship as he slowly climbed up the ranks. Through the years, Vera has managed his way to get to the higher positions of station/ship Command staff, occupying a Captain position in one of the most important Hospital Stations of Nanotrasen, the NSS Canes Venatici, and having worked in plenty of other stations and ships. Vera was recently assigned as one of the Captains of the NSS Exodus, and will get transferred pretty soon... What do you like about this character? Even though Vera'Qaule started humbly, he has worked his way up, which denotes the desire of this character to always excel in what he tries does. That is one of the keys of this character's personality. He's a perfectionist. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7 out of 10. Notes: N/A.

[Inactive] Player complaint - Printer16

I need to agree with Dreamix here. Triston would /not/ be qualified at all to perform all of those jobs, even if he was older. However, it is clear that there might be a a metragrudge issue here and that needs to be solved. Also, I would like to clear that I was not directly involved in the report, as I only have LobbiZ the Ckey of this person after they told me they wanted to report. -

Juani2400 replied to LobbyZ's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
You should probably create a character and write the biography about that character you are applying with, and not one that does not meet the requirements. Feel free to edit the post to do that. I rarely interact with you, so I can't really tell how bad or good of a RPer you are. In regards to the biography, I'd expand the character's background a bit more! These are all tips which I think could help your application, so feel free to do them if you wish. -
I can't see how placing barriers in the emergency closets will be helpful. If an area is depressurised because there's a breach, you shouldn't be going in, at all, except if equipped with EVA gear, in which case you can grab a box of inflatables either from the Engineering EVA storage or the EVA storage.

Before doing the remap, I asked some people around the Medbay that exact thing, if they wanted one or two ORs. The general opinion was to have two operating ones. Also, I, as a regular player of Medical, think that two theaters are needed, most of the time. LordFowl is the boss here, though.
-
Medbay has two working theaters now, yes. The pictures of the Medbay do not reassemble the reality anymore. It's been re-done completely.

Hello. The images of the Medbay are not up to date. The whole Medbay has been remapped, and it's completely different now. Current version of Chemistry:

Initially, the bar was just in that floor, occupying the place which is now the tool storage and the lounge. It was moved to the Main level to promote the RP in the whole civilian department, as the bar is now next to other less-popular facilities (Chapel, library). In any case, this suggestion should go here.

[Declined] The Green Gamer's IPC app.

You should really fix the application. Regarding the format, It's all in bold, plus way too many grammar mistakes. Also, the backstory seems really short to me. -1 from me, for now. Once you fix it, I'll see about giving it a +1. -

I really like the backstory of this character. I haven't played with Jessica too much, except occasional encounters with AMBER, but I have nothing negative to say, as she seemed to RP just fine. +1 from me. -
Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: Juani2400 Character Name(s): Azra Kouri (Chief Medical Doctor - Main). Ibrahim Al-Enezi (Engine Technician - Main). Laetitia Romilly (Captain - Semi-Main). Alexander Harris (Security Officer - Alt). Lea Fontaine (Station Engineer - Alt) AI Name(s): C.B.N. Preferred means of contact: Forum PM, Discord, Skype. Age: Nineteen (19). Timezone: GMT +1 (British Summer Time) When are you on Aurora?: I'm normally on during peak times at the afternoon/evening, starting my play at around 19:00 until -normally- 02:30. I also play sometimes at around 14:00. Experience How long have you played SS13?: I started playing SS13 four years ago, with around a year and half of break. How long have you played on Aurora: While I don't remember the date I joined Aurora, I would say I have been playing for around six months, in total. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: Due to the time I have been playing SS13, always on the Baystation build, I master a good percentage of the game's mechanics, except those that belong to the Science department, as it's something I never play as. However, due to my break, I've had to adapt to the new developments that have occurred and there may be some things I still don't know. I still learn a few things from time to time. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: My experience in the moderating wold is not too big. I used to be a part of the administration team (Basic Administrator) of a Spanish-speaking SS13 server a long time ago. I also co-own a public-open apartments server that opens during general vacation periods in which I hold the position of Head Administrator and take care of all the administration-related issues. I also have experience in other projects and games, where I have had high management positions. I do not hold any positions at the moment. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I have never been banned on Aurora or in any other SS13's server. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I play SS13 because it's a game that can give you a lot of variety among different rounds. I also love the fact that it has so many mechanics in it. It's entertaining, fun, and it takes a lot of time to get tired of it, as new things are always happening and new mechanics are being coded in. It's a game that's alive, even though it's quite old. Why do you play on Aurora?: I have been playing Space Station 13 for, at least, four years now, with maybe a one-year break in between. When I started playing, I didn't really enjoy SS13 that much, not because of the mechanics -which I loved and still do-, but because of the craziness of the servers. It was a few months later that I found a Heavy RP server and started playing on it, and kept playing it for quite a long time. Then I took my break, and when I came back, that server had disappeared. It was then that I started my search for a good server that would satisfy my HRP needs. It was then that I found Aurora, and started playing frequently here. What do moderators do?: Moderators are tasked with assisting the server's population and administration. Moderators resolve questions of players about mechanics, watch over people's roleplay, ensuring it's of enough quality. They also assist the administrators in any way possible and reporting any rules breakage or non-RP actions. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: It would honestly mean a lot. I tried applying for moderator in the server I used to play, and my application was accepted but I had to wait until there were openings. I stopped playing SS13, for a break due to IRL matters, and it never happened. I would love to be a moderator of a decent-sized server like this, as I love resolving questions and issues. Why do you want to be a moderator?: As I mentioned, I really enjoy answering questions and solving issues, and always had. My objective would be to become an administrator of the server, one day, but I'm of the firm belief that everyone needs to go through a gradual increase of responsibility, and that's why I'm applying for moderator. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: The main quality that made me apply into the moderation team is that I know how my personality is and how useful it could be when moderating. I'm a very calm person, very rational and fair, as I like hearing both sides of the story and don't act without having investigated the issue at depth and know what really happened. If I can't find anything or the proof isn't enough, I just apply the presumption of innocence with a verbal warning to all the people involved. However, I also tend to be a slow person, as I take my time to think what I'm going to write or do, and that's probably one of my biggest cons I'm aware of. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: As I mentioned, I qualify myself as a very calm person and I don't get easily stressed or angry. I'm very used to dealing with angry people and I think diplomacy is the key to success there. Anything Else You Want to Add: I'm aware that I'm not very known among the people here, but that's mainly because I normally stay away from OOC or posting in the forums. Even though I don't post anything, I'm always checking and reading the forums and I'm aware of most of the issues that people bring up.
