  1. That sounds like a p. good way to fix this problem Arrow without making Nymphs die in 3 hits from nearly anything. This'd cause nymphs to come out dead if the Gestalt took a lot of damage, right? Edit: Re-read and now I see you said explicitly that's a bad way to manage it. SO health is split between each Nymph.
  2. As said in the PR, 25 is far too low because while those NPCs are easier to kill, yes, and sometimes have less health, they're not player controlled, and they are NOT expected to roleplay, and do not follow escalation rules and rules against self-antagging. They're NPCs, meant to p. much just be there and a threat and then to be fought and destroyed by the Crew. Nymphs are completely separate, the only thing linking them to those is that they're mechanically a simple mob, which really isn't a reason to make them die in 1-3 hits from most improvised weapons and 1 hit from any actual weapon. Your entire argument here relies on there being 3-6 of them but Nymphs are also grown and singular player mobs at times, they don't only exist in the multi-form from splitting as a Dionae Gestalt. Multiple other ideas (I loved the others THO!) were given and you've had substantial pushback only on lowering their HP to 25. 50 has been said as acceptable and so has other ways of making gestalt nymphs weaker, such as making Nymph health scale on biomass, and also by making a Dionae gestalts' nymphs have lesser starting health based on how much damage their gestalt had taken before they split. This change as you've done it will likely just make Nymphs get killed while they're trying to roleplay p. much instantly and without being able to run away, the problem with it is that it targets Nymphs universally without exception when it should be targetting specifically Gestalt splits.
  3. One of the biggest problems as I've already laid out but only afew people recognized and vocally acknowledged is that there is no scaling in Malf, so in many cases you're expecting a single Malf AI and 2 'borgs to engage 70+ Crew in roleplay and drive a narrative with them, that's not exactly easy and often times what seems like a stealth malf round is really just the AI and 'borgs struggling to do that. It really shouldn't be its own gamemode, fixing the APC explosions to be a lot weaker and more contained and making delta take more APCs, almost the whole Station, and also outright removing the baseline gamemode and only having it in combination modes would really Really fix a lot of these problems if not all of them, then an AI is driving the narrative with OTHER antagonists instead trying to drive the narrative with actually 1-3 other 'borgs and probably only being able to reasonably interact with afew Command members with the 'borgs interacting with whoever they run into. This is a massive hinderance to this mode actually being engaging, the AI has to be extremely loud to have any chance of driving tension in the round just on that.
  4. Type (e.g. Planet, Faction, System): System? I guess. Describe this proposal in a single sentence (12 word maximum): Adjust a lot of the stuff on the wiki mostly. How will this be reflected on-station?: It's mostly wiki changes. Does this faction/etc do anything not achieved by what already exists?: Yes, very much so. Why should this be given to lore developers rather than remain player created lore?: Because it really can't do what it's supposed to do if it does. Do you understand that if this is submitted, you are signing it away to the lore team, and that it's possible that it will change over time in ways that you may not forsee?: Yes absolutely. This is a continuation of the loved thread: See Here. This was called into question recently and I think it's important to revisit and clarify it. The old thread detailed the goal, bring life to Tau Ceti by establishing a Sister Station to the Aurora, the Upsilon. This did work to a medium extent, and the Upsilon is still liked by a lot of the playerbase as I understand, but the interstation relations still need clarification and expansion -- Namely, it seems people think the Aurora is still the top of the line, technologically edgy research station it used to be, when the thread intended directly to turn it into a more multi-purpose Service/Research Station that still did very important research but not to the same scale. (Which I was under the impression was accepted by the Loremaster at the time ?), this can be solved by making the edge the Aurora has on the Upsilon in research be recognized as different, I mean it's at the source of the Phoron, it has xenoarcheologists, xenobiologists, miners, all kinds of varied personnel. As a field phoron research facility, it makes complete sense. And that goal would still enable it to be a multi-purpose facility that isn't JUST research so this idea that events and other stuff wouldn't be hosted on the Aurora because it's a research facility will finally be squashed as the original thread was meant to do. The dynamic between the Aurora, Upsilon, would be related to supply and location. There are other Stations too which could be explored, I'll put them in the dynamic too. The Aurora is at the source of the Phoron supply chain for NanoTrasen and Tau Ceti, which the Upsilon desperately needs to function, and ships it upwards to Upsilon on a shift-by-shift basis in a standard corporate transport chain. (This could be where the cargo ships filled with Phoron go. ?) The ERT has also been mostly removed from the Romanovich cloud and stationed in the vicinity of the Upsilon. (This is in a news article already as can be seen Here.) The Upsilon is more heavily equipped to do research in general, but lacks the field research capability that the Aurora has due to being on the other side of Tau Ceti, near the Odin, and not within the Romanovich cloud, and has near none of the civilian facilities the Aurora has. The discoveries and artifacts/anomalies the Aurora discovers are shipped towards the Upsilon for analysis, which puts pressure on the budding Scientist on the Aurora to be thorough in their analysis else their thunder be stolen by the Upsilon crew. The Exodus could be an auxiliary station of the Aurora and do research too, but be in general just a much lighter equipped station in comparison. Basically just a waypoint between Biesel and the Aurora. In Conclusion, just make the Aurora not just a mining/research station, it's also a service hub (FOR THE ROMANOVICH CLOUD SECTION OF TAU CETI) and extremely important as a PR Station since it's v. popular with Biesel citizenry/internationally, and that's p. much how it keeps an edge over the other stations and stays near the Upsilon in Station rankings even while it can't Really match them in research ability. The Upsilon remains in need of the Aurora too despite it eclipsing them in research ability since it desperately needs the Phoron the Aurora produces. Any discoveries the Aurora is expected to make are field research in nature (Hence the need of Xenobiologists, Xenobotanists, Xenoarcheologists/etc) which explains a whole lot in a grounded-Lore manner like it was always really meant to do.
  5. It would be okay in my opinion to remove the Malf AI gamemode and instead just have it appear in combination antag round types, like Uprising/etc where you have Rev + Malf IIRC? Malf as it is has a lot of issues driving a round by itself, it's just two robots and an AI trying to have the same round presence and impact of 5+ traitors/lings, a mob of brain controlled people and vampires, or an entire crew of revolutionaries/loyalists. But if you add more Antags to the mix, and take the pressure off of two or at max three borgs and the AI, that disappears completely. That's the main problem with the gamemode, it's completely unscaled towards the population, 100% unscaled. There is no scaling at all anywhere, it's the same regardless of if it's 20 people or 100. With lower populations Malf is better, since it's easier to involve more of the crew, but when you have two 'borgs and an AI trying to involve 80 people, yeah nope.
  6. I had a really really cool dream that I have to share with you all. It was in like. A million year old further earth that had been invaded by aliens and destroyed, there were just a bunch of deactivated Synthetics and afew buggy ones and afew that were still operating normally, near all life had been wiped out and the earth was p. much barren, in the dream I started out as a maintenance drone at a fabricator that broke down as soon as it fabricated me, then I continued on following a directive, and so the maint drone continued doing it's thing and progressively reactivating and re-powering tools until more synthetics were re-powered. It went from 1 maint drone (Me) to like 1 maint drone + an AI and some robots to like, at the end, dormant AI driven spaceships reactivating and firing on the still orbiting alien ships (Many of the AI ships being destroyed, but actually winning the battle in the end) and the AI's actually winning the war for humanity even after humanity had been wiped out. ?

wtf why can't I get sick as fuck dreams like this

I know, I'm just thinking to myself 'This would make a fantastic movie or book!!'
It's like an AI singularity but When you actually WANT one!

  7. I did delete that one, yes. (The weirdly colored service one you showed an image of) It now exists as the recolored TC-Drone, so not really deleted so much as resprited/recolored. See here: https://imgur.com/tRgyzHL I was going to replace it, but people kept requesting I keep it, and so I recolored and reanimated it to the new style instead ? Everyone wins here. Though I plan to make additions to the sprite later on but I don't want to start refining it department by department further until they're in the game and I can make smaller PRs doing it piece by piece, It's a really REALLY big undertaking to have to change 6 versions of the same sprite + 3 frames just because you wanted to alter afew pixels and then have to wait for reviews that go out of date each time you do commit anything, so I'm just going to do it over time piece by piece by follow-up PR and get them all in decent shape for now (Like they are)
  8. I've changed the names some on request of Wezzy. One thing for consideration is we're considering changing the 'Toileto-Tron' to a different name since it's too on the nose. Any ideas? Preferably it still retains the spirit of the sprite name (Toiletbot) but without being too obvious? Here are the current sprite names.
  9. This would probably be p. easy to code and I could try. ?
  10. This is how the current sprite list looks for the rework.
  11. Oof Greenboi answered it first.
  12. We have a whitelist system in place for all non-human species alien species including the IPCs, this is mostly to ensure the people playing them know their lore and roleplay appropriately but like, also helps to prevent abuse of their features. So kinda sorta. You have to make an application for IPC, and when it's approved you automatically get access to them and all of their subspecies.
  13. https://i.imgur.com/tRgyzHL.gifv Here's the Tau Drone with overlay When I commit this, this'll be my last update to my PR outside of reviews -- But I'll still change things in follow up PRs, I just need this PR to stay static so it can be reviewed by developers.
  14. https://i.imgur.com/ePfwhEk.gifv This is what it looks like now.
  15. @Doc @geeves I plan to smooth out the colors across the different Repo-Icarus-Drone recolors and then I'm also going to get the old Drone (the one you two like) recolored and overlayed and properly setup, and then I'm going to commit them to my current PR as the ACTUAL last branded sprite (I think I want to name it 'Tau-Ceti-Drone' as a homage to that it's a Tau Drone.). I fully plan to add more to these sprites over time in a series of followup adjustment PRs, would that satisfy you both? I can't keep making changes to this massive PR willynilly, I need it to be reviewed, get approved, once it gets ingame I can selectively update and alter and improve sprite lines or entire departments' colorings over time (Which I'm best at) In the meantime this is what the Drone looks like and I plan to smooth it out like this across each department, the part at the top will be lit up in the overlay as well.
  16. The original sprite has been designed that way, the example I showed is it being hue shifted in exactly the same way except with half of it being turned black. As for the new Drone resembling the old Icarus Drone sprite, that's the point -- This rework is meant to tie all of the Synths together and make them feel like they're all related (In being Robots designed in similar circumstances) to each other, and share similar qualities and all of that. NT reusing Icarus Drone chassis' for Station-bound duty fulfills this especially since they have an entire ship full of Drones to pull from. It's a v. compelling Lore tidbit that's worth keeping I think. I'll try to improve the Icarus Drone sprite and get back to you tho.
  17. https://imgur.com/sKuXBBv <= This is what it looks like ingame, it looks a lot better than it does on a white white background. The Drone you're defending has been done the exact same way except with far less animation and light-work. Infact it's p. difficult to do anything neat with it because of how small it is, that's one thing the new Drone gives me the ability to do, I can add a lot of neat effects to it (Like I did) The idea of it being a great sprite with perfect colors/etc is likely more due to it being the status quo and everyone being used to it than anything to do with it actually being a great sprite with perfect colors.
  18. The old Drone is being replaced by the new one (The Repo-Icarus-Drone) but if people want it back enough I can put in the work to recolor and tool it to the new style too.
  19. Here's the full sprite list, top to bottom. There was one mistake in my last post tho, the Medical Android below the SD-MAD (Floating humanoid sprite) is below the toiletbot, not below the MADs. (Titled 'Hephaestus-Android')
  20. @Arrow768 Note all of these have an alternate overlay for help/harm (Help is green, blue is harm) and many of them have new animations too, so a plain sprite sheet doesn't do them a lot of justice, but here they are, alongside the frontal eye overlay to show how they would look when powered. This is also chronological order in the sprite selection list. The only one without anything new is the very bottom one, which is explained away ICly by being 'Unbranded'. The floating ones have a flame propelling them that I didn't have on hand, but they're animated too. In total there are 11 sprites, all with multi department counterparts, many animated and with swapping lights between intents. The only exception is the very last which is totally unchanged.
  21. This project is now moving to the review stage, but there's probably a fair bit I need to change still which will be uncovered soon.
  22. The ultimate goal is to make playing a 'borg more atmospheric, and also make 'borgs feel more robotic to the Crew, and I think these changes really help to bring that idea to life and I say that as a 'borg player. This also hikes the general sprite quality for all of our 'borg sprite lines to custom 'borg level, by making them all have alt-department variants so you can play a single 'borg appearance in every department with that departments colors, and creates a norm of highly animated 'borgs. Any ideas on how to further do this is appreciated
  23. This is a thread to discuss: This PR. The objectives are: ✔️ Remove all of the old legacy Humanoid sprites as available sprite options. ✔️ Re-sprite and replace the old legacy humanoid sprites with HD-MAD, with a version available for Syndicate too. (New humanoid sprite line, courtesy of Quill#1995 on Discord.) https://i.imgur.com/55LYZEp.png <= See here for a picture of the HD-MAD sprite line. ✔️ Entirely removed Spiderborgs from the available sprite options and replaced them with the 'Unbranded Android' (The exoskeleton with a visible posibrain and a v. intricate electricity animation) ✔️ Created eye overlays for all of my old treadmate/landmate sprite recolors and streamlined their sprite names to be consistent among every variant including the legacy ones. ✔️ Created a new Treadhead sprite and eye overlays and recolor it for every department. You can see an example of one here: There are variants for every department and this is the medical one, showcasing the coil and screen losing power. https://i.imgur.com/KC4wiJe.gifv <= See here. ✔️ Create new toiletbot sprites and eye overlays recolor them for every department. They'll be known as 'Toileto-Tron's https://i.imgur.com/MMJGuFX.gifv <= See here for an example of one. ✔️ Implemented a new 'borg eye overlay system that allows locking them to intent, help or harm. I've decided to go with green for help and blue for harm, and I'm in the process of migrating all of my old sprites over, but they're p. much done already. I migrated all of our custom 'borgs to this system (Using two help overlays) so they shouldn't experience any difference at all in how the intent functions, it's the same for them. ✔️ Created the new SD-MAD hoverbot series. They're be like HD-MAD but with lighter equipment and they're lifted by propulsion, so they float ALA the current Drones, they have no legs. https://i.imgur.com/SRaqRse.gifv <= See here for an example of one, we have one for every department. ✔️ Created the new off-brand MAD hoverbot series. See above. These will have no equipment and be p. much just an endo-skeleton on the hoverbase. https://i.imgur.com/uPzZphl.gifv <= See here, this is the sprite, but the animation in that gif is wonky, I've fixed that. ✔️ Removed the 'Heavy' sprite series, it's redundant and has no neat features at all, I doubt it'll be missed, I'm sorry if it is. ✔️ Addition of the new Repurposed Icarus Drone sprite series, it's part of the overall goal of trying to interconnect the Synths together, This replaces the current Drone 'borg sprite and it looks v. nice I think. https://i.imgur.com/sKuXBBv.gifv <= See here for the Engineering version, but it has variants for every department. ✔️ Recolored the Medical 'Droid sprite for every department, overlay it, and call it 'Hephaestus Android', as the final branded 'borg sprite we'll have (unless people add more) https://i.imgur.com/hCkoQMs.gifv <= See here for examples, it's available in every department. ✔️Addition of the old style floating Drone sprite (Now titled 'Tau-Ceti-Drone'), can be seen here. https://i.imgur.com/tRgyzHL.gifv <= Examples of all of this in action here: https://i.imgur.com/bXoutev.gifv https://i.imgur.com/MMJGuFX.gifv https://imgur.com/KC4wiJe https://i.imgur.com/55LYZEp.png
  24. Mofo has been removed from the status updates. Do not forget what I have done for you @BoryaTheSlayer

  25. If I were going to do that I'd just fully revert the PR that removed AI PM for disabled 'borgs (ON the talking part)
