  1. I feel like everyone's given my two cents, to be honest. But, I want to point some things out that were missed. You are argumentative, and seem very unwilling to relent on any points. The 'G1/G2 banned from security' thread comes to mind. You play one, I'm fairly sure CL-04401 due to the app, which you've played them enjoyably from what I've observed from you. Ignoring the rudeness/mini-modding you went in a really STRANGE way to prove your point. You took an admin turret that normally is not in the standard cycle of gameplay to say 'Hey, look- not broken.' On top of that- you tested pulse lasers. Not the ACTUAL equipment/projectiles Security/Raiders/Mercs/Tators/Lings/Vamp's/Etc. Etc. Could actually have access too. It really felt like you just had to be right. It also comes off you have to have things a certain way. My 'But also this isn't a Military ship (As much as you have actively tried to make it one.)' comes from your attempts in the code channel and your active decisions on some items- like the scanner calling everything a 'Bogey': 'air force slang an unidentified or hostile aircraft.' It does this for planets, spacestations, etc. Which is odd and immersion breaking, since it is a civilian ship, most of the things we canonly encounter are non-hostile, and they're not all space craft. A good number are planets, stations, satellites, or even friendly craft like the Spark/Intrepid, and/or whatever faction ships have good relations w/ the SCC. I mentioned this to you and got a 'Pttf it's not changing' response. You didn't even take a second to consider that maybe there was something better that could be put in there. It's a bit nitpicky, but I don't think just rehashing everything the others said would be very helpful at all. -1 from me.
  2. These are how big our air pipes are, blue being vents, red being scrubbers... I can not see a universe where even the smallest, most underfed dreg is squeezing into these things. They're at best similarly sized to under sink PVC pipes. I refuse to listen to engineers talk about crawling through these horribly small piping. Where as a disposal pipe, something normal humans can fit in- is just slightly smaller than the tile. -1 More importantly, when it comes to getting around as an antag, you can get at toolbelt to deconstruct/hack doors, steal ID's, chemical warfare the walls, and the card that breaks doors on use. Depending on the type of antag, you also have other methods (vamp's shadow step- changeling's vents since they can change their shape, and tech*no*'s teleport)
  3. I'll start with this. There is no need for any rudeness at all. To even imply that I am not intelligent enough for the conversion in an attempt to dismiss me is honestly unacceptable in my opinion. No one has attacked you, least of all me. If this is how you act over conversation and discussion of a suggested thing? God forbid I EVER have to talk to you about anything. The following in that post implies the family/the company pays death insurance, which I am unsure they do. In anycase, the same applies through fear RP/Self-preservation. As for the whole 'we do robots because it's cheaper' sure, sure. In somecases, it can be. 100% But we're talking technology so advanced that it makes Drones and assembly lines look like rocks and sticks. They are self-thinking customizable, machines with thoughts and reason with postitronic brains that professional robotist today would struggle to understand. With a massive upcharge. But also this isn't a Military ship (As much as you have actively tried to make it one.) While the SCC is pretty well set in the science field, they are most likely not on the forefront. As the Skrell Federation is most likely our leading force, followed by the Vaurca with their disgusting brain bugs. I was talking about doors, but o k. Being slow is not a good balance for being extra tanky in a game like this. It works for LoL because there are items that are designed to fight the tanks (And still offer a benefit to fighting nontanks too- Normally up'ing attack and providing lethality or damage if they have more max health then you. etc. etc. etc.) It doesn't work here due to the game itself. I am sorry you made a G1 officer or whatever, I can still look and say it's over powered based on what it can accomplish on it's own. As for this. This USED to be the case. I had thought it was still the case, and for that I'll apologize in this correction. It use to be that Dionae were banned from security roles besides Warden due to the 'Funny Officer' of walking up to antags shooting them and cuffing them. Back in ye ole days, because they felt no pain, had massive health pools and were slow. Limits were put because of the power they held to dramatically change the round. At least from MY UNDERSTANDING and memory from like 2017/2018 when Neinbox was loredev, and they put their threads out to do such back then. As for finding it- It's hard when a single post takes up a whole page's worth on it's on due to lack of spoiling and massive paragraphs. In any case, don't feel the end to respond to me. I'm done with this now, I play SS13 and interact w/ people to have a good time. Not get called an idiot through a poorly veiled insult on a forum through the internet because I disagree.
  4. I understand that some people have G1/G2 officers. These are some issues that NEED to be tackled (Some of which have been ignored for some reason or another). Not on Brain med system Lore does not match this role (as Officer and such) They do not fill the team based play (for antag or sec)/Dionae I'm not sure what else to cover, I think thats it. tl;dr Just as OP as Dionae, Dionae are job banned from Officer/Cadet/even Investigator (unsure), or Head of Security roles and can only Warden. So why would a race with similar properties, but even more OP not have these restrictions? How is this a nerf/unfair? And lastly how does giving them believable and interesting mechanics w/ organs/hard points make them any else 'special' or 'samey' by expanding their core features?
  5. @Gem Project completed and merged. Thank you
  6. It is not even that it is necessarily 'bad' players. But to trust people to ALWAYS to be honest and hold themselves back in any game with combat, no matter how nerdy or odd like SS13 is just not possible. It doesn't fit their lore, they're mechanically unfun to play against because they don't have any organs/weak points (That btw, an actual robot would have because pistons/hydraulics would be required for them to move. This is a non-negotiable reality. If IPC's get actual parts *that would add more gameplay to IPC's and machinist mind you* then they shouldn't get removed.) Till then, I don't see a good reason to keep them in sec as the immortal gimmick disabler, elite death squad alpha member.
  7. He should have been banned a long time ago. Eddy is a great RPer, and person OOCly. They aren't big on starting issues and often can be kind and fun to talk with. Watching his characters interact with the lore is interesting due to the depth and focus put in each one. I think they'd make a great staff member honestly, and their friendly nature + approachability is a nice bonus + inability to reply to the relay. Give 'em the shiny +1 Bwoink me, I dare you. meant to post before trial, but here we go
  8. BYOND key: LordPwner Discord name/id: Birdie#3347 Borg / AI names: Departmental Assistance Technology Associate (D.A.T.A.) I can't remember what the acronym stood for Have you read the Aurora wiki page about the AI?: Read through it a few times to try and get a good grasp on what is expected! Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Besides Uriel, synths were my first characters, Data DG D-291:M-A (No, I don't remember what ANY Of this stood for, but it was good times.) Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? 2 Major Warnings, Total of 9 since back from early 2016 Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Of course!
  9. I was gone for two years, and didn't get my WL stripped because the last thread was shot down (thankfully). And like any good WL holder, I played something safe, while looking into the community/catching myself up on lore and now I'm Commanding again. And starting all the probelms 😎 Like last time, stripping people of the whitelist they work for and continually earned by good play, just because they took a break for some time? It may not make people quit, but man it'll be annoying af. And honestly, if we do it with Command WL, whats to stop us w/ doing it for Species? or AI? Those didn't make sense, this doesn't make sense. If players are the problem, ahelp and punish them. Do not punish 'everyone' for some people's actions or for needing to focus on RL/whatever many reasons they aren't playing. We can not demand that people play, just provide a good place that they can enjoy.
  10. This explains honestly nothing to me lmfao, this is my first mapping and first time using github. Might as well have sent it in french. As for this.. Thanks, I appreciate it. I believe I did it correctly and reopened the PR. If it merge conflicts again, I may ask you to explain it more stupid people terms
  11. Map keeps breaking, getting merge conflicts. I can't fix it no matter what I do. I have no idea what the problem is, so I closed the PR. Thread needs to be moved to suggestion instead. It's 'mapped' but someone with a bigger brain will need to PR it.
  12. Made it more symmetrical. (Removed random intercomm off screen) There's now more chances for that. As for being told to "man the helm" a great Captain will tell you do it anyway, because you are the XO. The BC report to the XO. Whenever you're done moving 5-40minutes, you don't need to sit up there. That's what it means at all. It just means direct the BC get where you need to go and you're all good. I have never seen a Captain/XO yell at BC for getting off the bridge unless there was an active issue that required them, normally antag related. As for aesthetics, I enjoy it personally not being so symmetrical, and having more useful consoles that the BC, CE, Captain, and XO can play with. Or if all of Command hunkers down in the bridge, there is a console for every role (Minus OM no supply console r i p) Edit: finally change, done
  13. Per all feedback from Github and here, moved all consoles back. Added an actual engineer console and messaging console to the back left. See changelog on github for all changes. If there are any more tweaks or suggestions, just let me know.
  14. I took some of these to heart, and removed some of the tables, and moved the shedder to try and make the space more appealing. When it comes to the separation of the consoles- sometimes players just find it easier to do it themselves. Instead of going 'Hey can you do X' more so when it's right beside them. My time playing BC and XO, I've observed this more often than not one person just doing it while another BC is standing on the bridge. Because it is in fact easier. It is to push for you to RP more. If you're alone, yes you'll have to move between stations, if you like having the sensor numbers to change while flying (for burst mainly though honestly since adding the printout, less burst have been needed). Though as the human model, it'll take you 8 seconds to trip there and back (if you set your walk speed to 2tile/sec which is 80% speed) if you start from the chair, up and around to the closet chair at the thruster/sensor console. Depending on speed/engineer, you'll be moving into the next grid in 200-120-50ish seconds Ofc. approx. As for knowing if something is wrong with the thrusters, you only need the thrust console to tell what the issue is. If power is disabled/turned off you know because Acceleration will drop to 0 and the buttons will grey out It's a supply console 💀 Which isn't a jap at you, just I don't know what's it for when it comes to the bridge lol
  15. Heya everyone! I'm looking for some feedback on this re-small remapping I did. I submitted this PR looking to not really fix any major issues, but to add a bit more flavor. 1.) Spreading out BC seating to make it harder to solo fly. Often BC's with multiple people (2-3) will find themselves piloting and working sensors leaving not much for other BC to do. This will help push for a greater division of labor. 2.) A more appropriate seating layout for our current set up of 'operations' (not the department) BC --> XO --> Captain | While still giving Captains their place of honor and another extra meat shield to survive 406 shells 3.) Adding more table space for putting down objects and organizing/fluff. And increasing communication abilities through the use of intercoms at each workstation minus XO's and Captains' 4.) Putting more 'logistical' sense to the bridge proper as weapons are in another universe compared to the helm being in the far back corner. It just allows for a better use of time running between work stations if solo bridging or needing to work differing task. 5.) Remove some of the awkwardness of having the random plastic chairs by the helm door and give more of an office style feel in the back near the Captain's office. 5.) Any feedback or thoughts is greatly appreciated!
  16. From a lore standpoint the XO is the manager of payroll, accounts, the bridge, access management, paperwork nerd, and head of Service. Taking operations out from under them and making the OM was a good change, it narrowed their field from all above + cargo/mining operations (Ye Ole Aurora). But honestly, having Service under the XO is starting to make less and less sense. 9/10 times the XO is on the bridge, talking with other ships, coordinating away missions, getting heads of staff to check their departments for volunteers or doing it themselves. Operating as a de-facto (Or promoting a) Warden/HoS during lower pops or just lacking command staff. Changing access, being assigned random task by the Captain. Manning weapon systems, piloting, working with bridge crew during these events. Yeah, we should just make them the OSM, and allow the XO as the right hand of the Captain. If players start overstepping too much, just hit 'em with the bwionk. If it becomes too big of an issue can always move the XO back to the same level.
  17. I'd just say let them do borging and be done with it. They can repair mech limbs and IPC's just fine and if the changes to IPC's are made, giving them organs to try and balance their combat tanking power, there will be much more to do/repair
  18. It could be looked at to give them things like a pump in place for a heart, air filter in place of lungs. Would make fighting them much more manageable if they also suffered from shutdowns or dropping if these parts were too broken. When playing Merc/Raider, I often find a G2 to be a walking fortress, 100% ignoring any damage I can throw at it, and breaking my leg/arm/chest in two-three swift punches or just standing point blank shooting me till I drop from paint. @Fluffy as for the bridge thing you tried bringing up. I respect the amount of effort put into it, but it is way too long and seems to be theory, not practice. More often then not, even with great positioning, the G2/G1 looks me in the eye as it marches into six guns, getting fully lit up by tons of people and turns a corner before blowing me away. Like the cop bots from Chappie. Only dying to the extreme. Also when it comes to ion/emp nades you need to consider how much gear they can actually carry. a 'weapon's specialist' taking two rifles, nades, cuffs and a pistol. With flash bangs, and the like doesn't have space. A dedicated medic, they barely have space for their gun. The Engineer likewise has tools, metal, glass and generally has one long gun. And whoever is in charge, depending on gimmick is underarmed by design or is carrying your support equipment/objectives and has one gun. Taking the ion (which unless I am misremembering can not be slung over your armor) is more often then not just a waste of your equipment. It depowers the IPC, thats it from my understanding. So they just grab them and run them to a charger, which are readily aval all over the ship. Give 'em like 1 min and they're back in the fight. (I know this is generally true from the time Jill got antag ganked in xenobio by a emp nade, was put in charger and it was like nothing had happened.) If we can not get them limbs/organs that make them at least easier to go down, they should be barred from sec. They don't fit the playstyle of being teambased/nor lore wise were made for it. Worst of all, they're just generally unfun to play against and make it more likely that your gimmick will just get rolled, and the only logic being 'I have to surrender, there is no way to fight out of this'.
  19. Reporting Personnel: Marcus Zhao Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Executive Officer Game ID: Event of 3/12/2023 Personnel Involved: Fuma Ilica, Security Officer, Offender Suvek Tokash, Head of Security, Witness Tsisana Caladius, Research Director, Witness Jeriko, Operations Manager, Witness Secondary Witnesses: Artemis Grey, Captain, Witness Time of Incident: Unknown Real Time: 11:00AM PST Location of Incident: Tomb found due to map. Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [X] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [X] - Misconduct [X] - Other: Keeping items of xenoarchological importance to themselves and discussing selling them. Overview of the Incident: Upon Entering the tomb, causing the Geist in the process, we discovered the burial room. The first time Officer Ilica does is to pick up silver vases and other objects of worship and stuff them into their bag. I told them off on the spot, because I did not see the Commander in the room with us. He dropped these items, not for any care of my authority or realization of his wrong doing, but to replace it with gold and gems found in piles around the tomb. I once again repeat my request to stop looting, that we are here for the history, and the artifacts that will... make this trip worth it. He ignores this. The Telecomms log will show I asked the Commander to order his officer to stop, which he finally did quit. Then Tokash rounded the corner and he refilled his pockets and kept exploring the tomb. As we were preparing to move back to the shuttle- he began to loudly boast about how much the gems would go for if he sold them to Tajarans in the area. My friends, my co-workers, our crew gave their lives by volunteering, and now he is affecting the potential findings by trying to pawn them off to the highest bidder.. Submitted Evidence: Telecomm logs Would you like to be personally interviewed?: [X] - Yes [ ] - No Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: The Head of Security, it was handled while they were watching. Actions taken: No Official Actions were taken as we were underground with a Geist and there were much bigger issues Additional Notes: I'd like to be interviewed incase I have horribly misunderstood the events that transpired. As far as my knowledge and my own testimony is aware. These events and claims made above are truthful and accurate.
  20. +1 I have played with all these characters, Zane with Delara in medical- Zane and Nakai Pool Party Edition ;-; and have loved every one of them. I'm now I get to noble it up with Tsisana. They so far have been very enjoyable to play with pre and post trial.
  21. tl;dr -1 doesn't really fix the 'issue' presented. More in-depth messy writing below you have been warned.
  22. Been getting a feel for Marcus over this like month and a half and was just curious if people were enjoying them or any tips/advice/whatever on them. Appreciate it! ❤️
  23. Eh- I am not sure there's an actually good reason for this. They're Command Support because while they directly listen to X.O's and Captains- they serve all of Command. The Consular/Liaison also have just extra access than your general civilian due to the nature of their job and their need/access to Command (Consulars for relations and Liaisons for employment contracts, reviews, etc. etc.) And it'd be very odd to put them into the 'Command' category due to their lack of authority, and it also seems really odd to put people who have some authority on away missions (ignoring Ops and Science because of their duties)/Employees/and their citizenery into basic civilian box. They don't fit in either imo Now if all your wanting is to remove the category but all mechanics stay the same- I guess? But it fits better with the fact there are seven member companies, so seven 'departments' along with the Bridge/CIC being their department
  24. It's probably going to be accepted anyway, but lavillastrangiato peanut is a great RPer, with differing characters that are interesting and fun to interact with. As an XO they've done nothing but impress imo and have suffered under my poor BC play 😜 I think they'd be a great addition to Command
  25. Snowy is a pretty good RP'er from what I gather as an outside force. Don't really get to department with them often. Their answers seem more well thought out then mine were, I say they should have a shot +1 Only if they kill their IRU chracter thou, death to Idris ❤️
