  1. I like it, mostly for taking on/off items from back as stated.
  2. It may have come off incorrectly, but self preservation is intact until a supervisor orders something. With his model designed for subservience and loyalty, having an IPC consistently concerned with its own life wouldn't be suitable. Goel will be careful and not suicidal by any stretch but if HoS or Captain says 'Breach the room' or 'Defend me' then nothing but death will stop it from accomplishing the objective.

BYOND Key: Haveatya Character Names: Tyco Revre (Sec Officer and Paramedic), Galahad (Sec Robot), Seth Gramaton (Captain), Knight (AI), BEAST (Engineering Robot) Species you are applying to play: (Industrial) IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): - Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I prefer to play the synthetic races and have yet to expand to any other race besides human in any station. I want to expand my gaming repertoire and a new 'race' might be a good way to do that. I like the challenges and personality that comes with an utter lack of personality in robots that I play, but want to spread that playstyle into a race that functions as a normal crewmen. Industrial IPCs come with a unique set of advantages and disadvantages that would make the play experience different from a mechanics and RP perspective of a security robot, and the thought of spending hours relearning the intricacies of my character is great. Industrial IPCs are also something I don't see very often, so bringing more variety to the station is always fun! Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I currently play humans and robots exclusively, mixing and matching aspects of the cold omniscience and the need of crewmen and specific tools to accomplish jobs provides a unique experience. Having to recharge and use different equipment than normal brings up new challenges that reinvigorate the setting and interactions with other people. Being able to wade through a fire to rescue a crewmen is dramatic and is something that a human couldn't do but an robot could almost do too easily. That middle ground drama I am looking for is something I've missed from my years of play. Character Name: Ranger G-031 Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs The conflict between Biesel and Sol saw conflict in all facets. Skirmishes, political maneuvers, and economic diplomacy were ongoing. A military engineer turned entrepreneur saw an opportunity in all of these fronts. Using positronic brains in heavy duty chassis, dependable soldiers, guards, police, or any sort of armed personnel could be replaced cheaply with no loss in capability. Multiple levels of positronic brains were inserted in heavier IPC chassis to provide different capabilities and specialties. Ranger G-031 was part of the Gamma series of 'Ranger' specification IPCs. Originally planned to serve in combat roles they were designed with minimal positronic space for emotions but suitable combat and field medicine skills to aid their human operators. With Rangers being planned to deploy with humans, they are extremely subservient. Designated overseers receive unparalleled obedience. Rangers will sacrifice themselves without thought and actively defend their operator's until their 'death'. G-031 was given to NT as a sample model NT was not overly impressed at the start. Depending on the record of G-031 or the other 11 Rangers, NT may eventually pursue their purchase. G-031 is not a special example or high performing, but has been active for only a few months, Ranger 'Goel' is adjusting to a new environment and accepting new responsibilities that his base personality and chassis wasn't built to accommodate for. What do you like about this character? 'Goel' is almost too easily manipulated by his superiors and could be a tool in the hands of antags or a devastating agent to be used against them as an IPC with no regard for itself (if ordered directly into conflict) will be a pain to eliminate in a fight. I will likely RP exaggerated responses to crimes and jokes but refuse to use it as a reason to valid an antag. RP is RP whether it is with a the baldy botanist that is making drugs or the veteran merc that is causing havoc on station and if I have to die because it better fits the story then I am more than happy to, it is likely in character. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 8, my characters I currently have a well developed and maintaining character is pretty easy and common. That said, I will be the first to admit I can get frustrated with things and start to just do things myself when I am frustrated with how things are going. Notes: Some of this is copied from a previous application, but my understanding of IPCs is greatly improved and I believe this is a better application.
  4. With ZAS being ZAS, and cyborgs being unable to carry GPS or use them, having a GPS tool basic to all models would be very useful for finding lost crew, getting rescued for falling, etc. There isn't really much to say about it, I agree.
  5. I don't think it needs to be changed. You wouldn't design a station with inefficient atmospherics. The people that design these stations are veterans of NT and have done everything any atmos tech has done and more. Leave it great because it would be made great.

  7. I agree because it is cool, playing CE a lot when I get a pAI it amusing for both parties to use the RIGs. However, I was under the impression only a normal AI could move the suit but a pAI could deploy the suit, activate modules, etc. It would be cool to stick a pAI in a RIG and it could operate it without a person, like a skeletal suit of armor almost.....
  8. Awesome! Galahad will not longer be stopped by a powered down airlock.
  9. I would like to redact my application.
  10. I think if you played then you can vote. If half the station dies in a plasma firestorm but mining is enjoying their RP on the asteroid, they could just keep playing. If you are just observing then you shouldn't vote, I agree with that.

  12. While some people argue that cyborgs are too strong, I believe they could use some quality of life adjustments. A cyborg can be easily defeated and normally cause no problem anyways. Definite +1
  13. Only pretty IPC heads, shame. But I actually like it to be honest. A nice layer of complexity to station 'politics'.
  14. it is at the moment, I'm arguing to make it standard equipment. I, personally would rather see the standard cyborg be removed and have all of its gear made standard for all cyborgs.
  15. Right now most cyborgs come without a crowbar to get around the station. This seems like an oversight from an in game and meta perspective. A security cyborg shouldn't be stuck in a room by a door without power and the people that design these cyborgs wouldn't leave it under equipped and helpless in a very easily foreseeable situation. I would recommend all cyborgs get a crowbar just like all cyborgs get a flash.
  16. I think medical needs more sinks in general as Nursie said, so +1.
  17. The problem of a number of these suggestions require an officer to give up slots for tactical equipment just to function in a station where half the time you need a light. A majority of officers wear their armor around but not a helmet, giving them a toggle-able light there allows them to still carry their flash & handcuffs in their pockets and a taser or rifle on the armor. Just trying to optimize their loadout and give them some functionality. Engineering hard hats come with lights already don't they? So that type of coding is already in the game and shouldn't be difficult to transfer open but I don't know how hard it would be to add to the sprite.
  18. In place of an energy rifle or laser rifle sure, but I feel like giving a future security force something contemporary security forces has shouldn't be difficult to rationalize.
  19. I'm sure being able to mount a security maglite to a helmet with a screwdriver could be easily coded and would be a reasonable idea. The armor appears to be a kevlar style vest, not suitable for a built in light. The helmet would be good though. The problem is that there are very few security lights at the moment so it may be better to build it in like the rig suit helmets.
  20. I enjoy his characters and he is a fine person in OOC. That is coming from someone who has had multiple disagreements with him in and out of game. Despite this I respect him as a player and individual. +1 from me, I think he'd make a great Head.
  21. I support this idea. I like it.
  22. I think that security would provide more light producing equipment for a system with infamously dim lighting. I think it would be a realistic and good idea to put a built in light on the security helmet, though the security armor would produce a similar effect. With maintenance being so dark, I believe it would be practical to have a helmet light, or at least the capability to place a light on it.
  23. I disarmed your welding tool and threw it, then told you to leave because you shouldn't be involved in this as an engineer. It is the LOOC and OOC aggression i received from you is not conducive to a healthy roleplay environment. Your belief you were warranted in doing what you were doing because your characters are friends despite multiple statures against what you did and then getting offended and speaking against it in OOC displays a poor understanding of the IC and OOC rules that you should have as a head of staff.
  24. Nothing is going to get heated, unless either of you decide to unnecessarily escalate this. Yes, I believe your OOC actions were inappropriate during and following an IC incident. While others have done this before to me and others, your role as Chief Engineer (or any head of staff) means you should be held completely accountable for your actions and viewed with full scrutiny. Your role is important and to break SOP and then get mad OOC about it when someone else comes by and follows SOP (to your displeasure) leaves me fully dissatisfied with your capabilities. I will stress again, had none of the OOC stuff taken place. Your actions IC were legitimate and understandable and despite my frustrations, I wouldn't be here right now replying to a formal complaint against you.
  25. As I have pointed it out multiple times, I didn't want to go in. I took your position and was standing there when I was pushed in by the security borg. How am I supposed to know the situation when I am told to take position at the front after receiving a briefing over radio? When police officers pull up to a scene and see someone standing there with a knife threatening to set off a bomb, why would they think "Oh I bet they got it! They are trained and equipped for this." I was doing my job and you got upset you couldn't play hero and took it OOC. I was told to stand there and keep people away. You are a person and were there, irrelevant of the fact that you were not at all being subtle or calming and were being aggressive. It seems that Hunter is defending Aquila's actions, which again, is not the point of this. Aquila is doing what she thinks is right, I show up, see a dangerous situation, and dealt with it directly in the way Tyco should. I had no information. This all happened IC and should have stayed IC; but didn't. That is the problem. Nandabun took her feelings to OOC about IC in an appropriate manner. Your only problems, it would seem, are that I made you (A CE) leave the location where a terrorist bomber was held up in a room, threw your welder you were waving around near a bomb, and "rushed the guy with a bomb". Yet two of those were appropriate roleplay for my role and one was something I didn't choose to do, hence me surviving that blast by being outside the room at the time of the explosion because I was already leaving after being pushed in three tiles by a security borg that wanted to rush Edgar. I didn't even have a single weapon drawn at the time. This won't resolve anything because you are refusing to see my points and acknowledge my statements and instead just choose to repeat your statements and beliefs about irrelevant topics to this post. In turn I do the same hoping you will acknowledge them.
