What's daemite for? Apparitions? Visible ghosts? Placeholder for potential new mechanic of summoning strong half-coporeal spirits?

Good question, good suggestions. I made it when I was a bit bored. It can probably be used as a few things, and I hope it is. It's animated, too. Floats up and down and slithers its spine/tail.

I'd really like it if we we replaced ghosts that have been pulled into vision so everyone can see them with that spooky sprite instead of being able to see robot ghosts and other stupid nonsense.

Also those new robes are totally baller I love them.

I feel like the boots should be made to fit the color scheme of it more, with some more red on them. Maybe make the robes also go down to close to where the feet are? Is too much leg being shown for a cultist robe.

Looks interesting and very distinct, I'd hope by them being labeled as 'alt' it may imply we'd get a choice between going full-blood red and the current beige. As the blood red can look a little more aggressive, which isn't a good or bad thing. I wouldn't want to see visible ghosts being replaced by the daemite, as often seeing the brutally mauled ghost-corpse of a crewmate you saw alive just 20 minutes ago is far more impactful, but the daemite would make a lovely replacement for the shade sprite.

It's actually just called that because image.png.d69654ec09e1ce7ced76b2a0b4f4360f.png is the actual 'cult' robe. The dusty robes are already alt. In my opinion, there's not really room for cult to be visible in robes and not be aggressive. Typically you're wearing ritual dress for a reason, otherwise you'd be in your work clothes as to not give away the fact they're in a cult. If it was up to me, cult would consist of different 'classes' or tiers. And I have no issue with the apparitions still using the current dusty robes, in order to help differentiate the still living from the dead.

 

As for the daemite, I'm thinking it ought to just be a special event mob, or something that spawns near derelicts depending on the theme. It's creepy enough that I really want its arrival and use to cause fear.

Yeah, the boots actually go all the way up to the crotch. It's to stop any weird colour conflict between the uniform beneath and the overall aesthetic of the cult. Me or Ferner'll probably make it nicer, though. Lengthen the cloak, or change it up another way.

Ferner is reworking the sprite a bit, the robes side view and the hood IIRC. There's also another hood I found, though it's not the right colour yet.
