] How long have you been playing on Aurora?: I'd say the past two months or so, maybe longer, maybe less, i have a horrible time with understanding time.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I wish to become a whitelist member to help drive the round, and provide a character that is enjoyable to speak to.

Why did you come to Aurora?: Mostly because it's not a ERP/Vore focused sever, mostly. i also didn't like the LRP severs like hippie.

Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes.

Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Yes, two perma-bans and i'm on my last strike. i really want to be able to prove myself to be worthy enough to continue to play on this sever, and get another chance on other severs. While this application may not be the best, i'm willing to improve and learn how to make it better, and show that i can in fact change as a person, and a member of the community. Hopefully this fact won't effect how people vote for this, but i do agree that it should be kept in mind. In the two or three months i've been back, i got a warning for spamming the restart button. Other than that i've been a good boy. (some bwoinks for being involved in shenanigans but i always came out clean, and not on the wrong end of the stick.)

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think role-play is, and should be about: I think role-play is about making a character that would believably and seamlessly blend into an environment, time zone, and events. We create a story kinda like our lifes, we go to work, there might be an accident, or a surprise inspection, we react accordingly and to the best of our ability based on our characters (or ourselfs) experiences and education, and a multitude of other factors.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: I think a head of staff is in charge of helping run how the round goes, on top of whatever antag there is. in fact a head of staff might effect the outcome of how the crew reacts to a threat, and this role is vital in my opinion. it can make or break a round, depending on how a head of staff responds to something. not to mention running their department effectively and keeping their workers in line.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: I think whitelist players are expected to hold a certain level of finesse over other characters,  they should guide the round, keep the crew-members in check, and respond to threats (or smaller things) within their department or the station. I also think they should set an example for what whitelist players should be like, and act like, both icly and oocly.

Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Sure! The terror attacks from the SLF has caused a bunch of chaos, reminding everybody that crime rings, terrorist organizations, and other such things do indeed exist, and even if you work for the arguably biggest company in the universe, you cannot always be safe. Keeping this in mind my main character (Dick Yung) wants to

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? I plan on playing as a chief engineer, with my Dick Yung character. However i might make a new character to play captain, or head of personal. however this would all depend on how well liked my other characters are, could happen, could not happen.

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: As i said above, dick young as a chief engineer. and i'm unsure if i'll make a new character to play captain/head of personal or not. It will depend on the day, and a bunch of other stuff that may seem silly.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: being honest i'd say a four, though i can do much better (and will do much better) when playing as a head of staff. I also want to note that some days i role-play differently, or with greater results than other days. it all just kinda depends. I'll do my best to only play a head of staff on one of those days, and hopefully just enjoy the sever like i've always done.

Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes i do.

Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes i have.

Extra notes: I also play as the AI or cyborg, LUCKY, every once in a while.

Hi there, I play a character named Approaching the Rain as an engineering apprentice whom has had the (dis)pleasure of working both alongside and after Dick Yung. Given that you declared a potential use of this character in the CE slot I have a few issues. The first is that I have not once seen you play a full round from beginning to end. Usually you dip out about 30 mins after setting up the engine if nothing is happening that effects engineering. This is not a something I feel heads of staff should do frequently and I currently don't have any reason to think you won't do it. The second is the shoddy work done by the character when I log in as my apprentice after Dick has entered cryo. Usually there are major issues with the engine setup that would drive most CEs insane, but that seems like more of an IC issue. Lastly, the last time I saw you I think you were on station as a Hephaestus contractor, which would automatically remove your CE eligibility.

Of these issues I feel the first is the most prominent issue that isn't easily hand-waived as it involves you as a player and not a specifically mentioned character. I'd like to see you play full rounds. Be there until round end, even when you're not doing anything. This is an RP server, you should be making reasons to stay.

All of this in mind, with the addition that you're only a few months bad from a second major disciplinary action, I don't feel that you're ready. I wish you luck and hope you can prove me wrong, but I'm going to have to say no.

Very critical review, and i genuinely appreciate it. I also agree with the fact that i don't stick around for a long time, and that's mostly due to personal issues, regarding depression and ADHD, while this isn't much of an excuse i wish to put it out there, for people to keep in mind.

icly dick young's contract was expiring soon (last time you saw him) and he now has employment through nano-trasen.

Seeing this review, i will do my best to stick it out through the entire round, and i understand that i have things to improve, both personally and icly. I'm willing to learn and improve, but this will take time seeing as i am currently a sophomore in high-school. I enjoy your character, and i look forward to working with them again.

I also understand how my recent ban lift may bother people (i do see their point of view, and i agree to a point). However as i stated in the original post, i'm trying to improve both as a player, a person, and a community member, and this will all take alot of work. I know people are skeptical, especially staff members who have had to deal with my past shenanigans, and those who were involved (or suffered the consequences of my actions). I understand that i'm currently the boy who cried wolf, saying i wouldn't get another ban, and i understand it will take time to fix my reputation.

I'm gonna go super analytical and up front about this.

You've been permabanned twice now and have only recently come back. I am skeptical of thinking you are ready for something like Command given how easily they can not only fuck over antags, but also fuck over people's rounds in general, even on Extended. I'll default to giving the benefit of the doubt since people try to improve. I hearing from multiple people in a Mercenary round that you played a, now deleted, character called Trey Lacon who was a janitor that ran up the heavily armed mercs and sucker punched them while yelling "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" like some maniac. I didn't witness this nor could I find the logs as a ghost so I can't say much other than noting this.

I'm going to say two or three hypotheticals that might be a thing you experience ICly if these antag rounds happen if you  get a trial. I'm asking these because sometimes situations like these happen and some whitelistees seem to forget how much of a presence they have.

First: A cyborg states law 0 on Engineering, Common, or infront of you. What would you do, as a CE or Command in general?

Second: A malf AI is threatening to delam the SM if you break any more of its cams. You could prevent this by just smashing all the cams around the engine so it can't remotely access it, but you also don't know where any of its borgs are

I thought Douglas Day was greytide, given how much he screamed one round about chemistry being on fire, when it was a vaurca in there, and later did other LRP nonsense in the same round. Not a great start.

Dick Yung seems to know very little about speaking with his team, and frankly I've seen you display a serious lack of keeping up on communications. It's quite frustrating.

I really don't feel you're ready for a command whitelist. You need to spend some time working on your RP and playing well-rounded characters, as well as keeping up on communication. Honestly, I feel like you're not even too comfortable fitting in with a HRP environment from what I've seen. I'd like to see you work on your core play, especially coming off a recent unban, before even thinking about going up to command.

Thanks for the reply! as i stated before, i understand how people might be hesitant to give me any role of importance due to my history on the sever. Also about the hypothetical question you gave me, if a cyborg stated a law zero, or any other law it should not have, i would report it to the post relevant personal (Research director/Robotics)

Hypothetical two: I would most likely comply with the AI, or if it decides to continue to esculate, i would, if at all possible remove the AI's ability to interact with stuff, for example building a wall in front of its camera, so it cannot see anything. instead of breaking the cameras. i would also notify somebody else about the AI, a security officer or another head of staff.

Ah yes, the main reason i removed him. However he wasn't meant to be that way.

Unfortunately I'm also going to give a -1

Especially with the perma bans being things you have had (Although not because of them) I would personally like to see you around more on the station and you know, making a few characters who might try and get to know the crew (or perhaps the right people) so they have an IC reason as to why nanotrasen would even promote them to head of staff.

Fair enough, but unfortunately I saw Dick Yung around last night and he, again, seemed pretty greytidey. Yelling about beepsky eating him, carrying around a fuel tank you bought like it's a pet, etc. Overall really not seeing great RP from you, though some moments were pretty okay. I'd like to see you try your hand at being a less jokey character so we can see you're able to adhere to our rather lax HRP standards.

A -1 from me for now, but I hope the feedback encourages you to improve rather than discourages you from trying.

Beeksky was legitimately attempting to do something to dick yung, also i wasn't treating the welder tank as a pet, i was treating it as property, for i stated icly i wanted to bring it home for house repairs and home improvement. i also bought said fuel tank.

I feel like someone with two permabans shouldn't be thinking about a command whitelist application for a MAJORLY significant of time. You literally had that perma lifted not even a month ago.

We haven't had time to see if you've changed, at all.

As someone who HAS interacted with your engineer, you... really need to get a better grasp on the mechanics as a whole before you apply for Command.

-1 until a few months have passed. I like Yung, I do, but I want to see what you've got now that you're back.

Hey. I play Urinal Evans. I'm going to have to also give you the -1  I listen to all channels when I captain and besides Young asking Evans what are the requirements of a CE on NT stations, I haven't seen any of your communication skills.  You don't seem to talk with your team members and on the rounds where you have cryo'd engineering does complain about your work. So yeah, Sorry Moon

I have to concur with the -1s given aswell.
It a recent Malf round you went out of your way to start cutting AI control wires when the Ai did (in my opinion) not escalate sufficiently as they didnt use their control to impact the crew in any way (from what I saw)

Right, so i can see the results here pretty clearly. People want to see that i'm capable of sticking around for awhile (more than a month) before applying for a command position, people also want to see if i'm capable of a higher level of role-play, than I've been showing. I'd like to thank everybody for their responses, and i already have a new character out in the (world) station.
