KingOfThePing Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 (edited) Okay, hear me out: There are 100% a million better ways to make it look good and/or better and all that, this is very basic. But, a sauna is great, it was fun as heck. And before you ask, MY workplace has a sauna, too. It's not impossible. It would be great. I summon thee, Ferner. Please, make it happen. We used the thermostate and space heaters to heat the air to like, 50 degrees or something, it didnt go higher because of the vent, I think, I don't know. Edited December 22, 2019 by KingOfThePing
Lualyrr Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 We have a weight lifting room, we have a pool with a little café/diner .. Why not have a Sauna? It'd make sense to further lift employee morale. I support this. The RP in there was super wholesome and comfortable and I can imagine that it will be very well perceived. +1!
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Give it a rock that acts as a table for unathi to bask on and make it brightly lit. I hope we're able to play responsibly and not make it excessively homoerotic or heteroerotic.
N8-Toe Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 eh, I think a sauna fits more as an in round construction project than something that makes sense to be there.
Lolziam Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 I liked it. Though something, something should be done about the doors. It was pretty funny though to see each other shout at whoever left the door open.
GreenBoi Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 I don't really think we need a sauna- doesn't accomplish anything, and it fits more as an in-round construction project, like N8 said.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Why do we need to have an hours time delay before enjoying the sauna. You already have a construction level.
Doxxmedearly Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Because the amount of projects that can be done are already limited in scope until we get further construction updates. Allowing engineers to create a custom sauna is an excellent project and something we should encourage, instead of sitting around in a lobby. It's fun BECAUSE it gets built for the round. And if you're enjoy it even after an hours time delay, you can always vote to continue the round. I agree with keeping it as a construction project.

Agreed with the above two. I would potentially understand a pre-built sauna if we worked at the Odin, but an excessive amount of recreational activities available from a baseline will eventually make the station feel more like a resort than a research and mining station. It's a cool idea for an engineer to build in his free time but I wouldn't like to see it become a standardized thing.
Bear Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 (edited) Okay but Tajara want an Ice room. That being said. This is neat. I like it. +1 Edited December 24, 2019 by Bear
KingOfThePing Posted December 27, 2019 Author Posted December 27, 2019 We did it again. Got the seal of approval from Skull (but were called pussies because the sauna was only like 60 degrees). Still fun.
WickedCybs Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 A pic from that. Very attainable, though this was a pretty long extended round. Getting material can take a bit sometimes, then you have the construction itself and station events that conspire to keep engineers away. I wouldn't mind a pre-constructed one on the Aurora to circumvent chance, though I suppose to some that's part of the charm.
Lolziam Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 The one above was achieved in 2 hours, given we had to deal with carps, health hazards (forgetting to set up internals and instantly talking liver and lung damage), Cargo's greedy manners and overall trying to setup a good layout since we're bad interiour designers. Anyway, we had a backroom (The southern airlock) that contained all the materials we used, boxes, stored construction zone lamps and items, as well as a heater unit that was pumping heated gas into the sauna. We were also using two A/C heaters but maybe if this could get preconstructed by someone, more heaters could be added.
