Jamini
Many thanks to the two medical borgs, K-120 and Chirurg, for helping with it, and Tainavaa for fixing my irradiated ass up twice. Edited May 9, 2015 by Guest Quote Link to comment

Conservatron
i do notice a horrifying lack of safety protocols though. you'd need someone to manually throw it outside. Quote Link to comment

Conservatron
thats the 'engine room' where the singularity generator would be. He tore it up, refitted the whole thing to be supermatter containment and basically built an engine from scratch to power the station. Quote Link to comment
Conservatron
only improvement I can think of is walling in and pressurizing the collectors so you don't have to go eva and get rad exposure to change the tanks Quote Link to comment
SgtSammac
I still demand that we get a realistic gas turbine. <_< >_> (With all the extra machinery for extracting thermal energy from the exhaust and scrubbing the exhaust to recycle it into fresh intake air. Quote Link to comment
Jamini
Well considering we can't construct mass drivers. That's sadly a necessity. I suppose next time I'll include a disposal inlet to vent it out. But eh... I had fun. The core does have an emergency vent for the outlet line though. thats the 'engine room' where the singularity generator would be. He tore it up, refitted the whole thing to be supermatter containment and basically built an engine from scratch to power the station. Yup! It was powering the station too! Had a steady 990kw going out. 100kw required for the coolers, giving us 890kw or so for power. Plus solars were up and upgraded. only improvement I can think of is walling in and pressurizing the collectors so you don't have to go eva and get rad exposure to change the tanks I uh, realized the folly of not walling those in when I went outside to check the wires under the tanks. Took 90 rads and had to get cryo from Tina. Quote Link to comment

Conservatron
please no i hate the gas turbines also disposal bin with a chute for disposal is a great idea Quote Link to comment
Tainavaa
No, thank YOU. Edited May 9, 2015 by Guest Quote Link to comment
Jamini
please no i hate the gas turbines also disposal bin with a chute for disposal is a great idea Getting the SM into the chute would be tricky though. The only way I can think to pull it off is to throw Conservan into it to nudge it in! Quote Link to comment
ZipZero
If that room were breached, would the supermatter be sucked out? If so, that could be a way of getting rid of it in an emergency. Quote Link to comment

Jamini
B-but, Conservan is much, much more weighty and guaranteed to work! (Anything thrown into it would nudge it, then evaporate. Technically. Though we'd risk a heat spike) Quote Link to comment
Conservatron
alternative way-more work intensive solution is to retrofit another part of the station with a conveyor belt... like putting the supermatter in the middle of cargo Quote Link to comment
Carver
(Anything thrown into it would nudge it, then evaporate. Technically. Though we'd risk a heat spike) Try shooting smoke grenades at it via a grenade launcher. Great way to get a tan! Quote Link to comment
Conservatron
i want to see what happens when you shoot a supermatter into a singularity Quote Link to comment

Conservatron
side question do singularities still cancel out? can you still kill one with an adequately sized bomb? Quote Link to comment
Skull132
They cancel out with an explosion, last time I checked. I do not know about bombing them, though. A part of me wants to try it once as RD. Quote Link to comment
Carver
I do not know about bombing them, though. A part of me wants to try it once as RD. Bomb needs to explode and hit the centre before the singularity deletes it. Easier w/o bombcap but still easily doable on smaller singularities. Quote Link to comment

canon35
On some codebases, the SM combined with the singularity creates a rainbow 9x9 singularity that can move faster and cannot die. Quote Link to comment
