Character names: Shane Halevy, Jasmijn Koning, Curel Wald.

How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Since 2015, became more active during the final months up untill now

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I've noticed one of my characters had to do alot of supervision due to absence of a Heads of Staff, which surprisingly had gone well. Somebody once told me I should have gone for the Head role myself, which basically gave me the confidence to work on the Head app.

Why did you come to Aurora?: I come from a Medium-Heavy RP server known as Unbound Travels (Which according to some is notorious for somer reasons.) up untill it died. I was looking for a different community to fit in and somebody recommended Aurora.

Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: I've done so yes. I've did some reading on both Heads of Staff, IAA as well as CMO. RD may have also come up to my mind as I've done some reading.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.


Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is about immersing yourself into another reality, where you assume the role of another person with their own identity and background. Something like escapism but less extensive. However, roleplay is something that other people should enjoy as well other than you. Which means your task is to make it enjoyable to you and others.


What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To supervise their assigned department so that their productivity is assured.


What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: White-listed players are recognized for being generally accepted Good Roleplayers. People look up to them and are usually inspired by them to ever find a position as whitelisted players as well. I do hope my character will certainly help out some new players as well as other potentional whitelisters.

Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions.


Character name: Curel Wald

Character age: 32

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Once upon a time, there was a happy farmer couple in the agriculture side of Olympia who were interested in having children. Sadly, the wife was unable to produce a child. The parents decided to have a child cloned from a Clone donor. As a result, the Wald family were gifted with their child, naming the young girl Curel. Curel spend most of her time on an all-female school R&D Medical school "Lilith's Guide" where was assigned at the age of 12. As a child, she once spent some time of Hide and seek in the slums of Olympia with some friends where she would find one of the poor and distraught locals. The local approached Curel and attempted to restrain her untill a Security drone identified the crime and arrested the local on sight looking upon the machinery inspired her to become a roboticist herself and hopefully innovate current robotics to something greater.


It was however around the age of 15 when her pespective on life, her morals and beliefs changed when she was told of her artificial origins. She'd presume to course of Psychology in hopes of understanding the mind of other living beings so that she can judge upon them for their mental capabilities rather than ther genes or looks. After succesfully graduating from Lilith's Guide, Curel would proceed to the Socrates Medical and R&D University where she graduated with high scores in Psychology,Robotics and Development and Surgery. Curel would spend some time in her old High School where she worked as the School Psychologist for two years. After that, she transfered over to the Biesel prison where she engaged with many dangerous sociopaths as well as low-crime criminals in psychiatric evaluations. Tired of her work as psychologist and longing once more into working on machines, Curel transefered to the NSS Ara where she helped in constructing robots and cyborgs as well as conducting research on innovative weaponry.


What do you like about this character?: She can be quite open and honest about herself, but she's also cruel and deceiving when it benefits herself. She prefers that people look up to her as a professional.


What do you dislike about this character?: Her cruel honesty is what will likely deter some people from her, which could make her amount of friends on the station quite small.


What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: It's her honesty and her likeness to regulations that would make her suitable for supervisor work.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I'd give myself an eight of out ten.

Curel Wald is the only Psychiatrist in Medical Staff I have seen you play occasionally, but you try to play as a Doctor.

Besides, the first paragraph of biography is one of those clichés, I've seen on the media. Adopted Child whom is actually intelligent.

Would make a sufficient Chief Medical Officer, if Curel Wald had engaged in Doctor/Nurse, but I have no problem with Curel Wald's current occupation.

Overall, a good roleplayer and can form a patient and doctor bond.

I don't think this answer addresses the question properly. Consider how a Head of Staff can influence others.

Apologies for the delay, RP as well as IRL circumstances delayed any chances of me responding. Anyway, here it is.

Haha, thanks alot. I do agree with the whole cliché. But hey, every character has a little bit of cliché nowaday even though we don't want to admit it.

 

Cruel Wald is really the only Psychiatrist that will do her job. Being funny and maybe a sociopath?


I would love to see her as CMO. (That Marc Price ERP.)

Sociopath huh? Most likely during Antag rounds. (That stuff with Marc is kept at appropriate level, we're not intending to go further violating actions. Besides, I'm not a fan of ERP due to personal experience. ;P)

You're a good psychiatrist , and have even been promoted as acting head of staff , so that's a thing

 

Yeah, the whole thing caught me by surprise as well. Too bad it was cut short due to a Cultist invasion and my inevitable death by a juggernaut. But hey, it was nice getting on the Head position once more.

I don't think this answer addresses the question properly. Consider how a Head of Staff can influence others.

 

I suppose they influence people due to the fact they have a high-ranking position, which gives them overall more authority. They are also represent their department as a whole. After all, who do we ask first regarding security issues? The HoS. Who do we expect to provide further details during a viral outbreak? The CMO, etc.

My opinions on Dr Wald are kind of neutral. We're in the same department, cordial and profesisonal to each other, but not really friendly i guess, but then again she doesn't hate me either, i think. We get along fine, which i guess is more than i could say for many people, though i kind of wish i knew her better.

My opinions on Dr Wald are kind of neutral. We're in the same department, cordial and profesisonal to each other, but not really friendly i guess, but then again she doesn't hate me either, i think. We get along fine, which i guess is more than i could say for many people, though i kind of wish i knew her better.

 

Curel was promoted to interim CMO that round. The IAA required a certified psychologist as CMO to conduct psychiatric evaluations on all Heads of Staff. Sadly, I was unable to do much because of the surprise riot.


And regarding the relationship, I'd probably assume it's Neutral too. Curel does respect Nanako for the work she has done and that's basically where it stops. Perhaps in the future they will be able to share a one-on-one conversation? ;)

IAA [Arthur Pilate] was me, I did require a certified pyschologist as CMO due to Central Command Orders.

The other day I was the victim of Curel as she ERP'd with me (she got me when she was a Ling :P). I was impressed with their RP skills there. Many Antags just kill and say nothing. But it takes a good RP'r to actually take the time to make a death enjoyable. They made it fun for both of us, and thus this earned them a +1 from me.
