UnknownMurder Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 I looked at Carver's Format... And others. Fuck it. I like Carver's Format & Aurora Records Format. I would like to suggest a Universal Record Format ICly while establishing an Official Record Format OOCly. I prefer to set an Universal (Official) Security, Medical, and Employment record format for ALL RECORDS similar to this. Well, actually ALMOST fits like this. Why? As I look between records, some are messed up or narrative story of how said character endured this and that and got his degree for his hard work without his parents.
Zundy Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 I agree with this. Either your records are spot on in regards to what's expected IC (we are a HRP server after all) or have none.
Carver Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Whilst it would be lovely to have everyone having pretty little records, there is a certain pleasure to be derived from seeing the ones detailing someone's fourty man murder spree on Luna and how they're under investigation for it whilst working for NanoTrasen.
Arrow768 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 If this is a thing that everyone wants it would not be too hard to port /r/records to the new webinterface (along with directly editing the chars on the server)
UnknownMurder Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 I wouldn't mind as long as everyone had the same records format.
Carver Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I wouldn't mind as long as everyone had the same records format. I'm going to get genuinely upset if my 5 hours spent on making formats has gone to waste, especially considering I made them out of a powerful dislike for the other format. Let there be different formats, people who don't write records now will not do so later.
Carver Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 If you must standardize, just allow for multiple formats via a drop-down or something for people who want different themes/levels of detail/etc.
UnknownMurder Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 If you must standardize, just allow for multiple formats via a drop-down or something for people who want different themes/levels of detail/etc. I'd be fine with us. Format is just basically, fill in the blanks. Not tell me a story in your records.
Arrow768 Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 This is now something that I am working on actively. What has been done already: View Records online Parsedown formating of records (But that will be removed, because we dont support parsedown ingame; and this breaks the style of a few records) To confirm the (initial) requirements: Ability to mark specific chars as public / private (Default private ?) Ability to share specific chars with selected people via a custom link ? (Yes/No) What data of a char should be shown ? (Name, Species, Gender, Age, Records; something else ?) Should the ckey of the owner be shown ? A template will not be enforced for the char records A option to load a template will be provided Please use this template below to answer the above questions: Default character visibility: [public/private] Sharing with custom link: [yes/no] Data that should be shown: [List of attributes] Show ckey: [yes/no] Any other comments, ....:
Skull132 Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Default character visibility: Private Sharing with custom link: No preference Data that should be shown: Records Flavourtext? Gender Age Species Name HIGH preference jobs (as occupation?) Show ckey: Yes
The Stryker Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Whilst it would be lovely to have everyone having pretty little records, there is a certain pleasure to be derived from seeing the ones detailing someone's fourty man murder spree on Luna and how they're under investigation for it whilst working for NanoTrasen. I think someone got arrested for this, actually.
