Reason for complaint: Being a captain with a loyalty implant, yet disregarding regulations and procedures. Also, instantly going for lethals to take me down when I posed no threat. Basically what had happened was, unknowingly I told the captain to "shut the fuck up" after he told me to respect the HoP, (I asked the HoP if he was lying to crew during an announcement, I guess that's disrespectful?) Anyway, we argued back and forth when the captain said this: obviously failing to understand Nanotrasen's regulations (keep in mind he is loyalty implanted). Also, I wonder how I was broken? Anyways, we argued back and forth over sec comms when, I find it odd how this is even true? I understand IPCs are discriminated against but even then, he's loyalty implanted and IPCs aren't void of being protected by regulations. His overall failure to understand what it means to be a captain and have to follow corporate regulations honestly proves he isn't ready to play this role and surprised me that he made it past applications. Let alone that, he found me in my office and requested that I handcuff myself. After asking him to sit down and talk, he said he was scared of me. Clearly asking him to simply sit and talk wasn't going to work (he asked for me to come to his office before to talk?) he took out his laser pistol (which has 2 functions, stun and lethal) and told me he has 2 valid reasons to open fire on me. I asked him one more time to just sit and talk it out and that's when he opened fire with the lethal function and hit me 1-2 times missing the rest. In return, I pulled out my shotgun and fired at him a good 4 times with 12 gauge. He was hit 2-3 times with the spread of pellets before other officers began firing with laser rifles. I was then arrested, which I understand, under mutiny, failure to follow superior orders, and resisting arrest. While I understand all these charges, I feel like Superiorform doesn't fully understand how head of staff should act and how someone with a loyalty implant has to follow corporate regulations and procedures. He's genuinely hostile and in my opinion not fit to have the whitelist.

Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Yes, I did. There was no action taken at the time so that's why I'm here filing a complaint.

It is 1:34 in the morning, and I am very tired, but I will try to write up a full response to this, including my own, far more grounded, accusations against Prospekt. For now, here are the entirety of the related logs, from my point of view. I find them rather telling, and I would urge anyone looking to weigh in on this topic to read them in full.

Before I write all that I was going to say in my complaint, I shall address all of the inaccuracies, half truths, and downright fabrications in yours. Let’s get right into it.

“Instantly going for lethals to take me down when I posed no threat.”

As we all know, IPCs do not feel pain. They cannot be flashed, tased, peppersprayed, or batonned. An IPC on the run, armed with, as I knew at the time, a revolver, is a dangerous thing indeed. Do note, that he was actually armed with a pump shotgun loaded with lethals, despite being a detective. You had refused to turn yourself in when I ordered you arrested, you had been extremely insulting, and downright refused my direct orders. You refused to lose your shotgun. Also, you are a mere IPC. You can be damaged, and repaired, and from mine and Leonce’s point of view, you were a very faulty, very rogue IPC. So yes. I had every reason to go straight to lethals.

You said a lot more than that, but that will be covered in my complaint against you, and can be viewed in the logs I posted earlier.

Yes, you are protected by regulations, but I need to take you down. And for reasons detailed earlier, lethals were my only option.

For reasons that I should have thought were obvious, I was not going to sit down for tea and biscuits with the heavily armed IPC that has been ignoring two heads of staff, and showing a complete lack of care for the consequences of his actions (employment termination.)

At the beginning of my post, I mentioned “downright fabrications.” This is one such example. Let us take a look at the logs.

If this is asking to sit and talk it out, then… I cannot even think of an adequate analogy. I shot you because of your refusal to lose the weapon, refusal to come to your senses, and refusal to stop insulting the captain in ever more creative ways.

As to the rest of your complaint, it plays down just how aggressive you were in a mightily convenient fashion. It is true that I shot you some more, and you shot me with your shotgun in the detectives office. I then ran to the bridge, where an officer and the HoP came to help me. Obviously, you chased me down to the bridge to try and kill me, before you were shot. You emoted surrendering. I will admit, I did not see this, and I would not have shot you if I had. My mistake. I, knowing you had a pistol, but not knowing you surrendered, shot at you. You shot at me with your pistol, before I ran away into medical to be treated.

Yes, I am to an IPC (Viatorem does not like sassy synthetics one bit) that has been insulting me, my heads of staff, and has a gun. Do note, I have been complimented on my "friendly", "laid back", captain style.

I believe I have thoroughly refuted all of your points, and pointed out convenient inaccuracies and mistakes. Expect a player complaint against yourself for terrible IPC play, validhunting, self-antagging, and hostile and insulting LOOC. If you would like to talk about poor whitelisted behaviour, your play during that round was a goldmine.

I will, of course, respond to any further points you make, though I believe I have said all that is needed to be said.

IPCs can be baton'd and flashed, I was not wearing sunglasses at all.

You could've called for backup from security if you felt I was that much a threat.

I asked you to sit down in a mere effort to avoid it turning into a gun fight, yet you refused and opened fire.

I don't see how you can file a complaint for something regarding the way my IPC character acts IC? More like an incident report.

Also, I don't see how I'm being a bad IPC? They're freeform to have any personality they choose, they're not bound by laws so how can an IPC be rogue? That right there proves you really don't have an understanding of IPC lore.

I don't see how this has anything to do with my IPC whitelist?

You didn't even answer to my screenshots showing you saying they can destroy me during my capture or saying that CC doesn't care about IPCs.

Also, I don't see how anything I said was half-fact at all, I stated exactly what happened plus screenshots.

I would like to note, IPCs are not affected by flash nor stunbatons, they do not take halloss damage (because they do not feel pain.)

With this being noted, most of the time, the least lethal means of dealing with an IPC is usually taking them down with lethals to the point where they can no longer fight, and having them repaired. the real line between this is when it is called for. If your character was being openly hostile or aggressive, then it is to be expected. Though from what I've read so-far, this seems more like an IC issue, excessive force and such.

Also, as another note, I don't believe they mean 'rogue' as in, defying laws, I believe they are just saying you are being aggressive, or attacking.

They do not, no. Under regulations the destruction of an IPC is sabotage and not murder. The reason being, they are NanoTrasen property but the company is much more hesitant to attach personhood to a machine, sentient or not. You may ask CakeIsOssim about this, who will likely say the same thing. Unlike humanoids, an IPC's repair is much less expensive than the processing of cloning and also due the presence of replaceable parts.

I would like to first point out that Robots have no feelings, no emotions; closest thing is emotion emulation, which they use to display their mood but I don't believe it effects their decision making process.

A robot would not act differently after stressful events like interrogating armblade lings due to being annoyed, which was an excuse used ICly to justify snapping so much at the HoP and Captain.

What others saw wasn't a robot breaking underpressure, but a robot that is rude and ignores orders, either it is fundamentally flawed and functions this badly all the time or it is broken, as was deduced by the HoP in the logs.

continuing, this broken robot who was refusing orders and was passive aggressive towards the captain was also armed, and made their stance that they were ready to shoot back, the robot that can not be stunned in anyway, i really don't understand why you brought up him using lethals instead of stun, stun beams do literally nothing to ipcs, nothing what so ever.

even with human crewmembers, while it is prefered to use less than lethal weapons, if they are refusing arrest and are armed with lethals, lethal weapons are allowed, being immune to less than lethals and being uncooperative is a highway to getting lethal weapons used on you.

I mean for example Incog's IPC has a personality, shit one if I might add and that seems to be fine? I don't think IPCs should act completely emotionless all the time, that just ruins the interest in even roleplaying as one. I feel that they can believe that they are who they act like and they can feel like they are alive in a sense. Even though, in reality they are not alive and are simply a positronic brain in a shell.

You can't go and say that they can't act under "stress" they can definitely simulate when they are angry, sad, happy, etc. It might not be REAL but they can definitely ACT like it. So many other IPC whitelist holders do so, I don't see why I can't? Also, I did believe that flashes and stunbatons could work, as they did when I used to play before the merge. I wasn't aware that they don't work now. But regardless, this complaint isn't entirely based off the fact that he didn't use stuns. It's how he acted and refused to follow regulations. I understand even myself obviously doesn't follow regulations, but someone with a loyalty implant is expected to, in fact that's why they have the implant.

I was in this round, didnt see much about this besides watching Booker get dragged into the brig.

As a HoS/Sec Semi-Main, lethals or an ion gun blast is the safest way to disable an IPC - when you choose to play an IPC, which has numerous benefits including combat ones, you accept that crew have the right to terminate you with the force required to stop a threat. The same applies for dionae.

You know, you wave that 'Superiorform' isn't following regulations a lot, even though from the looks of it, from the very beginning you've already broken multiple regulations. You do realise there's a regulation specifically regarding not following a Head of Staffs orders, right? When you refused to settle down and meet with the CAPTAIN in his Office on request, you had already broken a regulation worth 5 minutes in the brig (i111). When you refused what he said to do the second time, you had broken a regulation worth 15 minutes in the brig plus possible demotion (Repeat i111). When you refused to give up the shotgun, you violated another i111, which resulted in the Captain firing on you. You may have even been guilty of a i211 from what i'm reading, which is Sedition, the lesser form of Mutiny. Or, by causing the only reasonable alternative to fire on you, you could've been guilty of the worst form of Disobedience, Failure to Execute an Order with Serious Consequences, (i201) which is very similar to i111 except you can be demoted on the first offense.

If this is an 'IC issue', it's a very strange one, because if this was Canon and IR'd I imagine you'd have been fired on the spot, and it's Antag related, so it can't be IR'd.

The Captain has a Loyalty Implant, it means they do what is in the interests of NanoTrasen, let me ask you... how was allowing an IPC (Or Human for comparison) to run around the Station with a Shotgun, a Revolver, all the while they're openly breaking regulations, disobeying Staff, and being seditious, in the benefit of NanoTrasen at all? The Captain doesn't *Have* to follow regulations in abnormal circumstances, that isn't what their LI does, they just can't willfully break them for no reason like the HoP/Other heads can. You gave them plenty of reason to 'Break regulations', and yet they didn't, you did.

So you know, if what you did was done by a Human it wouldn't be acceptable, not as a non-Antag (Without buildup, but it had some in this case). It would've lead to the same place, you being arrested however you could be. And IPCs aren't just dumped on the Station, not in the vitriolic state yours seems to be in, just saying. They are screened, no pun intended, but since yours seems to have been 'Stressed' out, that accounts for it. Still doesn't put the Captain who was reacting to your IPC at fault. Cake would have to say if how your IPC is acting is reasonable or not, I won't.

Anyway, that's all. You have a weird idea of how Loyalty Implants work.

If i can get this in before you withdraw it, I was the HoP Leonce, and I'm gonna give some context as to what happened exactly.

Alright, so as I said before, I was the HoP Francois Leonce this round. I'm gonna start at the beginning:

We had just destroyed a rampant AI, dealt with horrible monsters, traitors, breakins to the bridge and attempts on our lives, and things were FINALLY beginning to calm down. The captain goes to a command console (one that I was logged in) and makes an announcement somewhat covering up/sugarcoating the things that had happened, which pop up under my name.

Before I could even read the announcement, Detective Booker immediately jumps into sec comms and says (these are as i remember them, not the exact wordings).

 

Booker: "HoP are you lying to the crew?"

Leonce: "Well, I wasn't the one who made the ann-

Viatorem: "Don't disrespect the HoP booker"

Booker: "Shut the fuck up viatorem"

 

The captain then ordered Booker to his office, most likely for a stern talking to, and booker denied, breaking another regulation. A warrant was then set on booker, who then refused to turn himself in, sparking a manhunt and breaking another reg.

What happened afterwards I did not witness, except for a slight amount of the firefight between booker and the security force.

Overall, i think booker's conduct as an IPC was extremely subpar. He was completely unaware of what could take down an IPC first of all, which seems to be why he made this report. Second of all, he acted extremely unbelievable and irrational for a FUNCTIONING, non-antag IPC. In fact, I was sure he had been subverted by the AI or something.

Why in the hell would NT purchase/hire an IPC that insults the captain, not once, but multiple times, constantly degrades heads by calling them "retarded" and "biggest idiots he's ever seen", breaks multiple regulations, and acts insufferable? That just seems like a bad purchase to me.
