Scheveningen
This is an obnoxious feature that does not add interesting depth to a zero-interaction ghost role with a 5 minute respawn timer that permits you to cause an amount of grief in the manner of throwing contents of boxes all over and destroying the container itself. NoahKirchner
I think a straight removal is the wrong way to approach this. Maybe have them only be able to eat through boxes that contain food, so that they can still be pests, or have chewing through boxes not destroy the box but still spill the contents? Link to comment
Guest Marlon Phoenix
Chewing a box should allow the mice to interact with the interior of the box, while adding a description to the box about having a hole chewed into it. This will let mice eat food out of boxes, not do anything to non-food items, and not have the contents spewed all over the place. Link to comment

ben10083
Either way, I just had a round where a mouse destroyed EVERY (except lockbox) box in armory, leading to a station-wide determined pest extermination that even IA Agents got involved. There needs to be a fix. Link to comment
Guest Menown
Here are the issues with mice: 1) Meta of traps (which are gay, Menown's Law). Mouse players will meta traps, requiring you to get REALLY creative with placing them. I tend to do pretty well, but when mouse players spawn multiple times within thirty minutes and I'm getting yelled at because they're avoiding the traps, fuck me I'm cryoing because fuck that. 2) Respawn! In tune with the last one, you only need to wait five minutes to respawn as a mouse. If a nefarious son of a biscuit wants to, they can keep doing this until they get bored of it. 3) Ability to hide under things and eat boxes. You can hit hide and go under racks, tables, ect, and continue to tear open boxes and eat food, this is a mechanic abuse in my opinion because you'd need to be actually tearing or eating, visually. TL:DR - Nanako sucks, fix the mice or something. EDIT: The last four numbers of this post is 1138. I love you, Delta. Link to comment
ForgottenTraveller
Jackboot's Idea is bloody good. Otherwise an idea is making the cardboard a little toxic/builds up in their gut. So if they are eating more than one box in a short amount of time. They flat up die. To at least de-incentivise the mass box munch. Also. Hide traps under tables when? Link to comment
Promanguy1223
So uh. I wanted to apologize for chewing every box in the armory. It was hilarious. Yet also wrong at the same time. I only mess with the chef now. Link to comment

But yeah avoid doing that, it is more annoying than anything. Do not dread on your actions too much however, I will give the incident around a week at most then everyone will forget it. Skull132
Could also make it so that if there's a trap in a box, and a mouse chews it, there's a very high chance of said trap assploding and killing the mice. Link to comment
DronzTheWolf
Also. Hide traps under tables when? You already can, put the trap on a table and right click it. Link to comment
LanceLynxx
keep things as they are, just increase the respawn timer to balance it. I think it creates interesting happenings, but the respawn is too short and allows griff, whereas a long timer rewards the crew when they capture the rodent Link to comment

The entire pull of mice is that they have a short respawn timer and you can just scurry around observing. Treating them like they are more valuable and require a long respawn timer to make up for them being a minor antagonist that the crew should be rewarded for killing is not the right mindset. I also don't see a reason why they should be able to affect the round in some tangible way, by destroying objects (boxes). I think even when they eat food it doesn't really deplete the food, you just emote nibbling on it. Link to comment
