  1. I know this is geared 100% towards antagonists but it has a very good reason now bear with me. The number 1 complaint I see concerning sec and antags is the rambo hero style attacks where they don't care for the well being of hostages or themselves. Adding in a dead mans switch would require an assessment of the scenario and a measured response. so as to properly engage and not cause large damage in the process. How it would work - while in hand the person right clicks to arm (and disarm) and while armed it must be in hand at all times. If dropped/ thrown/ otherwise removed from a person's possession it will start a 5 second countdown in which someone has to pick it up before the 'explode' command is sent to the bomb(s) its attached to. additionally, it would have a manual trigger activated by clicking the switch while its in the active hand drawbacks 1- rambo sec will still not care about the bomb and will go for green text and cause a lot of station damage in the process, which is a totally IC matter and would probably cause the officer to lose their job for total disregard of the lives of the crew and the integrity of the station they are tasked to protect 2- more complicated than current bomb triggers and would likely result in accidental detonations as people get used to it as for appearance, the only real major part i've thought of is having the sprite have a light that changes color based on armed/ inactive. Red would be armed and Green disarmed (idk if these colors are bad for colorblind players though)
  2. i only get upset when i die in one of two scenarios 1) I am killed with no rp AND stuffed away so nobody can ever hope to retrieve my body, happened 2x i think 2) I am killed because sec is stupid and does things that actively put me in harms way. Otherwise its whatever. I am intentionally novice in robustness on Xullie, put him in a fist fight and he'll hold his own but gun in his hand? He's have like a safety lesson and maybe a couple hours of practice but will probably shoot wide especially at a distance. Maybe it comes from being a long term 'antagonist' player on my old NWN server but I don't have to win to have fun

  4. as an engineer I resolve the problem and fix it and carry on with my shift. Takes about 30 seconds if they cause a breach. I've had a time where I stopped grief and ahelped it and i was admin-floor'd for 5 minutes while they investigated and if I just did everything on my own it'd have been solved and security would have arrested the guy and we'd have moved on.

  6. i rarely, if ever, report grief because reporting griefers used to automatically lock out any *fun* that could have been had with them.

  8. honestly i do think pulling in 'protocol droid' stuff would be a very good middle of the road step. Allow them to understand languages but communicate only in ceti-basic and tradeband

  12. question why would the creators of IPCs program them with a language nobody else could understand? why do they NEED a unique language?

  14. i feel like Psi-ops are best kept as a special event kind of thing with admin oversight so they can actually replicate abilities not doable via mechanics

  16. welcome! first just a few notes, our lore is very much homebrew, so please browse our wiki and see what is different. Additionally, we use Baystation as our codebase, not TG. While there are many similarities in terms of processes and mechanics, they are very different animals and you should be prepared for that. Aside from this, if you have any questions ask! If I'm in engineering (usually Conservan Xullie) I'm always willing to take new engineers under my wing and teach them all sorts of useful (and somewhat antaggy) things about the profession look forward to see you in game

  18. While Dunmer are obviously the best, the fact is that Also, so does the empire. Everyone knows that Talos was a true Nord and forged the empire through fire and blood and brought the imperials to heel before making them the backbone of the world

  20. Conservan Xullie - engineering obviously Building is Welding Support Engineer Prosthetic Arm Cigar Chomper
  21. too many tropes no 'engineering tropes' list too much work to do Cons
  22. or we trust players to be adults
  23. im gonna be honest pretty sure I act more antaggy on extended than I ever do on secret, even if i'm an antag
  24. im upset that xullie's pose got reduced to 'lying on his tools' it was more intricate than that, he was 'flexing' his robotic right arm while smoking with his foot on top of his welding kit with the tools at his feet as a background mad sexy calendar worthy picture
  25. secret is for antags extended go home
