  1. I have Conservan affiliated with the party on his home planet of Mars, and find it much more agreeable after the edits so I once again am +1
  2. i just want to be able to punch someone with a ripley arm rather than just slide them out of the way. maybe do something like crossbow code, if you use ripley arm while hostile intent on someone directly against a wall and you are directly on the other side you slam them against the wall
  3. Slightly unrelated post.. would it be possible to create a macro for items that toss up flavor text? Like, for example, right clicking a zippo and [edit usetext] would be an option, allowing you to change what gets thrown up I haven't dove into byond code at all so I have no idea if this would be realistic or feasible
  4. [as vox] I want to make the station 'vox friendly' and redo atmos to be nitrogen pure so all the monkeys have to use internals and not vox.
  5. Cons would be lonely because I don't have any other character except for my devoted operative

    !!SCIENCE!!

i once saw a bluespace xenomorph running down the halls and didn't catch its name and called in a black thing grabbing an engineer from dorms and dragging it away. apparently it was an admin taking a ssd to cryo /me shrug
  7. I make a point to only make fun of players I have a repertoire with in OOC. But Engineering as a whole has seemed much more newbie friendly this past month so forward progress I'd say. I never play other departments so I can't really speak for how things are going there.
  8. number of items cleaned number of bloody footprints number of people slipped on wet floors (might encourage janitor grief on public workweek though)
  9. Conservan drinks alone in his apartment straight out from a bottle of whiskey. Maybe he'll go out and lose his paycheck in a game of dice or waste it on buying drinks for nurses at a bar. though he's stopped constantly drinking at work so there's SOME improvement.
  10. multitool is a sprite for sprite rip from deus ex
  11. apollo had the full 'end of shift report' right? where it tracked materials mined/ cargo orders/ science progress/ broken windows/ cleaned floors/ whatever else they thought of and applied a profit/loss algorithm to evaluate the station competency having that would be p. cool and would give a sense of actually doing something.
  12. from that angle, the first 30 minutes of nuke are literally extended. If those 30 minutes are a borefest, then all of extended is a borefest.
  13. oh that i named him before earth was brought back actually, should probably change it tbh. **edited his last name in post to not be the italian royal family
  14. this should really be for all station airlocks. The only reasonable airlocks are the solar access airlocks with 1 square to fill/ empty. I believe it has to do with the nature of the pump system being pressure controlled? As such, the pressure in the canister is so much higher than the pressure in the room causing the pump to fill slowly, especially if there are more than just one square to worry about. Adding more vents would help, but it doesn't address the core issue that is making airlocks cycle so slowly
  15. you have to figure no organization would completely fill its ranks with bloodthirsty individuals who want to kill and blow up everything for a credit (unless they have a strong philosophical motivation to support the cause), they're liable to turn on you if they're given a better offer. Syndicate organizations would probably like to have numerous roles filled, some people suited towards massive property damage, others suited towards quiet infiltration and precision target acquisition. Operative Salvador doesn't particularly mind if other operatives are killing security officers willy-nilly, but he prefers to not do it himself. Browsing the list it isn't even a unique position, though somewhat rarer. unless the Why was for his name, then it has to be 'its the first thing I thought of when I actually rolled op'
  16. on the old map i used to rely on camera blindspots to do antagging in primary corridors. Back when there was a normal wall on the access between teleporter and captains quarters, with the bathroom directly to the left there was a camera blindspot and unless someone was at the medical desk the only people who could catch me would be those wandering the hall (still very dangerous imo) but you could false wall there and wander away, then 15-20 minutes later slip in the wall and get into captains bathroom with an all access door into his quarters and nab the spare id. Of course, that was before bridge was fully encased in reinforced walls and made impossible to covertly break into
  17. Operative Name: Salvador Dali Real Name: Aurelius di Amalfi Status: Available for Hire Description: Skilled engineer and breaker, prefers silent infiltration to breaches and killing. Has a rep for being a pacifist, avoid contracting with trigger happy teams. **edited last name to not be the italian royal family

    "Wat" Mechanics

this, actually, is a recent change. the containment field used to ruin your day if you touched it, like instant paincrit and if you hit the asteroid you'd probably die before help actually found you due to huge burns. I also think it fried sythetic body parts? but yeah its so much safer now
  19. if new map is irrelevant then option 3 would be nice, looks like its winning the vote anyway
  20. i think stunbaton should change to first hit, 3 seconds till pain crit second hit down and automatically turn off when dropped (or thrown)
  21. I honestly think there should be less camera coverage in maint really, just in vital access areas
  22. I thought we were in the process of developing a totally unique land based map and, if so, why are we diverting development time to modifying the station map instead of the new one? Voted 1 anyway, for the least amount of development
  23. I feel like I want to go against camera in incinerator, its basically the only big room that antags have to work with without default camera coverage. However its always the first place checked by security which means it acts as little more than a diversionary area. 1) I agree with, escape should have full coverage 2) I agree with, though I think its a design consideration to give a way to break into morgue. There are, however, other entrances that dont have camera coverage 3) I agree with, I've had to direct an ai to go to the side room and it can be tough for them to find you when you aren't on cameras 4) I dont agree with, as stated above. As for accessing, however, idk if the camera in the maint hallway can see the door, but if not then it could probably be moved to at least let ai open it 5) I agree with 6) I agree with
  24. I will say this re: driver the syndicate shuttle is woefully easy to break into as the wires are identical to all other wires on station. It might be considered Rambo-y, but a single engineer can up and steal the shuttle out from under syndicate hands as the computers and doors inside the station aren't id locked. Having an armed driver on the shuttle keeps this from happening, and allows for the ship to move at a moments notice, like if an operative is in danger and managed to get outside far from where the shuttle is
