  1. Reporting Personnel: Tina Kaekel Rank of Reporting Personnel: Medical Doctor at time of incident Personnel Involved: Terrence Frank, IAA; Tina Kaekel, MD; Katelynn McMullen, Scientist; Hasna Rishat, Scientist; Lachina Green, MD Time of Incident: (If unable to provide, leave blank) Location of Incident: Internal Affairs Office Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [X]Neglect of Duty [X]Harassment []Assault [X]Misconduct []Other, (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: Early in the shift I needed my prescription filled so I got permission from the only head of staff available; a chief engineer. The artificial intelligence, Chii, let me into chemistry with his approval and I fulfilled the portion of my prescription I had the knowledge to fulfill. I sought Katelynn McMullen's assistance to fulfill the other part, and produce Hyronalin for Lachina Green that she requested over the medical channel in lieu of a functional chemist. Hasna Rishat observed Katelynn and I, and took note. Terrence Frank later confronted me demanding an interview regarding it, accusing me of distributing controlled substances. He claimed that Hasna Rishat informed him of the concern of distributing controlled substances and wanted to view my personal messages on my PDA instead of getting the logs from the messaging server. Regardless I allowed it and he read through them. I told him not to message anyone, just read. I later found out that Terrence Frank was using my PDA to message Katelynn McMullen pretending to be me. He also claimed that the PDA needed to be kept for evidence, even after being told there were logs he could gather from the messaging server. He openly accused me of attempting to distribute controlled substances in front of Karenza Rivettes and Valery Compton. After being instructed that unless I was being detained for questioning, then I would need to be released or moved to interrogation, Terrence Frank finally released me from his office and when I asked for my PDA back, he threw it at me and hit me in the chest despite me being an arm's length away. Katelynn McMullen later cleared the investigation herself but Terrence Frank but he insisted I pay a fine to him for not having a Chemical Requisition Form completed and filed. He also demanded a fine be paid from Katelynn McMullen as well. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: Karenza Rivettes, Head of Personnel Additional notes: Also made snide remarks afterward about "sneaking off to dark corners with one of my many girlfriends" after being cleared of the investigation, in front of Lachina Green and Szilvia Kalashnikova.
  2. Seems there was a good reason for the demotion. A lot of people seem to think that insubordination and general unprofessionalism can't get you demoted, suspended, or fired. I've gotten quite a bit of flak for it as a head of personnel or chief medical officer but I assure you if you show no intent to improve it is a solid grounds for the aforementioned punishments.
  3. Not to the binary channel, Sue. I wonder why everyone keeps including the binary channel in their point when explicitly stated otherwise.
  4. There is no camera in the IAA office. I definitely agree though, there needs to be a camera so we can see that corner.
  5. I agree that we shouldn't punish everyone because we have a few shitlers. So I think we should do as I always do as Anna. Street fucking justice.
  6. I'm going to back up Jackboot here, and partially back up Crescentice but instead of Skrell we need to focus on the singular most important species in this game. IPC's. They STILL can't speak binary, and coolant doesn't do a thing for them. On an equally serious note, Unathi are kind of OP but I'm not too concerned with balance to be honest. Maybe axe the stun resistance, but I think Unathi should keep their other abilities. And Tajara, I think, should have a faster climb rate. That'd be pretty cool.
  7. Dresses or skirts that extend to the ankles or lower? We have so few and they're so inaccessible. It's terrible.

    Skrell

I want to oppose this idea, and bring up the controversy that arose when suggesting allowing IPC's to speak binary. Not even to have them have access to the binary channel, just to speak it in general.
  9. Okay maybe gimmicks would be interesting. Something simple - planted, even - on the station and just let the crew go nuts with it. I can definitely see that working out. No admin control or intervention (unless rule-breaking). My experience however, has mostly been with admin-controlled events and it's just not fun for me. I did enjoy the quota gimmick for a bit, it definitely gave us something to do while at least making us feel like it had some meaning in lore.
  10. I lol'd. That was a great post. The meta-friending and the sort is something that also really pisses me off. The Essel cult is a big part of that problem. People just don't want to hurt her for some reason. I'm going to back Inverted here and say that it isn't Phoebe as a character or Nursie as a player. They are completely fine and I have literally zero issues OOC with the character and the player. Who I DO have a problem with, are those security officers that dragged nigh-innocent people into my brig as a Warden for insulting an officer but Phoebe's over there making death threats and no matter how hard I fight to arrest her, I'm met equally with "It's just how she is" and literally nothing being done about it. Who I DO have a problem with, are the people that made Phoebe Essel acting captain because of that ion law. If it were anyone else, would it have been okay with the crew? No. Absolutely fucking not, unless it was someone just as popular or renowned and that turns into the same example except with X, Y, Z where the variable is a renowned veteran player/character. Who I DO have a problem with are the people that fought to overturn a Duty Officer's decision to disallow her from medical duty because "lel its phoebe its how she is." It's ridiculous, and it renders my immersions: broke. The other things are good points as well, I guess, or something. I don't fear player complaints because I'll be ready to defend myself should one ever come up to me. If I get a bwoink, it doesn't matter how well prepared I am to defend myself. I know it's going to be "I don't care. It doesn't matter. Stop or ban." Secret + Extended is probably the most variety we can get, because you can't force creativity on the players. Events, to be good, require a lot of planning and a good balance between admin control and allowing players to control the situation. If there's too little control, things go very awry, very fast and it just ends up being stupid. If there's too much control, the story is railroaded and boring. It doesn't matter what you do or did, the conclusion is going to be the same or similar to the original idea rather than letting it go its own course. I don't like it, because it's usually too much control.
  11. To be honest, I think the extended weight change in Secret is fine enough. Extended's been more prevalent but we've also been getting a lot of antag rounds. Not necessarily GOOD antag rounds (read as: vampire, changeling) but we've been getting them and have also been getting a fair share of extended. Skull's right as well. The server NEEDS antags. During an extended round, medical and security have NOTHING to do. I've historically been primarily a medical player, and the lack of things to do was astounding. So we sat in the medbay lobby chatting and gossipping, waiting for someone to die. Which I'll admit, I did enjoy because I knew everyone just saw whisperwhispergigglewhisper-lookatthatpersonandgiggle-whisperwhisper and it made people curious and suspicious. However it gets old when done way too much. I'm very glad antag rounds are much more prevalent however I also missed extended being so prevalent because it was just antag after antag. I think it's stabilizing more with the weight shift in Secret though. It's a better balance in my opinion. Also you can balance regulation and freedom in creativity. For a long time I felt I couldn't fucking do anything without getting in trouble with the administration because of the - admittedly blown way out of proportion - hardsuit issue. It felt like they were just trying to control everything and it just wasn't fun. I didn't do anything I wanted to on any of my characters because I thought, "I'm gonna get a bwoink for this." and it's made me want to stop playing, and I did end up playing a LOT less. Because honestly, it's such a small thing. If they're going to get on my ass about that, what's to stop them from getting on my ass about anything else they just don't particularly enjoy? But they've allowed it and since that I've felt a lot more comfortable just doing whatever I feel my character would do without any undue consequence. I DON'T FEAR THE BWOINK ANYMORE. I'M FREE. tl;dr I think the admins are working to allow people more freedom without consequence without letting it go overboard.
  12. I actually ahelped about this indirectly. And to be honest, I thought it was very ridiculous that a personal healer and an engineer would decide to scout out the ship. Let alone break into it and steal everything. I'm pretty certain they were legitimate peace ops but they just couldn't be assed to move all the weapons grade gear off the ship just in case someone suddenly decides they want to out these people as bad guys.
  13. I joined an extended round as Warden earlier today. Since it was nearing prime time, I was fully expecting chucklefucks, griefers, and little shits galore. Instead, throughout the whole round, literally no prisoners came into the brig. I had NOBODY to deal with. It was an entire round of chair RP. Thankfully I had someone to RP with. If I didn't, it would have been a pretty bad round. I want to emphasize the lack of prisoners in my brig that round. Literally one person came in, and that was for questioning. And he was SSD so he sat in the holding cell the entire time.
  14. I don't have a syndicate cover agent character. Either way. This is something that requires heavy moderation to even allow. But I'm doing it anyway.
  15. That's because it is unfair to everyone. I can only hope another admin will take over. Especially since Skull asked a question and Plahunter has not responded. I'm leaning more and more towards wanting this ban reapplied.
  16. That's how I play one of my characters. They're a hired gun who has worked for the syndicate before. They don't do shit to help the syndicate however, unless antag or there is some really good reason for it. Even on nuke rounds, they actively works against the nukes knowing they're syndicate operatives. Every time. Edit: I think it's also worth mentioning that no metagaming is involved as any sort of hinting at knowing their equipment, their motives, etc. could possibly out them as a collaborator or other criminal. So it's best to keep quiet and pretend they know less than what they actually do, so long as it secures their survival and freedom. Also I'm really dumb.
  17. Glad to have finally made my own mark on this server.
  18. In SmileyDemon's defense, is it even possible for a cyborg to file an incident report?
  19. See you 'round, Jake. May you RIP in pastromi.

Oh, you were actually serious about this. I agree because etc. etc.
  21. Wow, so my post about it was the last one, and it was never looked at again.
  22. I said often times.
  23. At the very least I'm in full support of cloning being removed entirely. I also like Erik's idea, but death has virtually no impact and even if cloning is available it's extremely difficult to care that someone died because they can just be potentially brought back at a later time. Frances has a point about people dying constantly as well. I have not died for a bullshit reason in a long time. In fact I so very rarely die at all. If you're dying a lot, then I foresee one of a few reasons why. 1) What Frances said. What you're doing isn't very fitting for heavy roleplay. 2) You're bad at living. Get your life together. Literally. That is to say that you don't take proper safety precautions and the like. 3) You were griefed. Often times, I see admins rejuvenate players when this happens. 4) There was a good reason for it. Man up. Deal with it. Move on.
