[Accepted] SeniorScore's Command Application
SeniorScore replied to SeniorScore's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Because there's been absolutely no staff input yet. -
[Accepted] SeniorScore's Command Application
SeniorScore replied to SeniorScore's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Past (What I hope other people would agree) competency is not the same as saying 'I was staff previously so I get what I want'. Nothing is stopping me from becoming active and reapplying later, and that's exactly what I'd do if this was declined. -

No, I think me being staff that previously worked on the lore shows I have some caring for the lore in some faucet, not that I deserve a whitelist for it, which I had thought I made clear. So I'll do it now, I don't rely on being previously staff to help. I rely on people previously knowing I'm competent at role playing and thinking I'd be fine at the job. Past proven, just not to you guys. I understand the hesitance given you've never seen me before, but that definitely goes both ways. -

As I've said, easiest thing to change really. -

I don't know what makes you feel high enough to have the power of dictating what I can and can't be at this time. As I said, yes I haven't been playing frequently, but again, easily changed. Rereading this yes I'm coming off as an ass, not sure why, will attempt to rectify anyway. And I said Tau Ceti's lore disengages me. And I don't play for the setting, the characters are more note worthy than the hellhole that is Tau, which seeing as the station, and any RP surrounding it isn't very hard to disassociate. I stopped playing because it was a pain to try to. -

Playtime recently has been subpar (read: mostly nonexistant), which is easy enough to change. The reason you've never really heard of those characters is mostly in part to: The Lii'dra Shitshow™ killed a lot of desire to play when it resulted in me more or less retiring Ryan, who was my main at the time, and Nelson is security and that should be self explanatory. So yes as a result I just pulled back from the server for awhile. Though to be entirely fair, I've got no clue who you fucks are either besides Matt so lmao. And it's not that I don't care for Aurora's lore, I'd like to think my work proves otherwise, I've always just had some kind of willed block to Tau Ceti's. It simply does not fucking interest me, even if we're there. Even when I worked as a human deputy, it just was not fucking interesting, nothing to draw me to improve it. It's nothing I wanted to work on, and when I did try and interact with it I end up just getting shafted so fuck it. As for it being haphazard and casual, I don't think I've been anything but in my entire existence here. Why lie for a fucking whitelist. -
BYOND key: SeniorScore Character names: Ryan McLean, Nelson Blessing
How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Almost two years Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Having a better hand in setting a tempo for a round. Why did you come to Aurora?: Honestly can't fucking remember. I think Paradise was too much of a bad meme at the time when I decided to try it. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Sure nuff Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Nothing serious that I can recall.
Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is to make a story. Sometimes the story requires conflict, sometimes it does not. In this server there's plenty of backgrounds for others to bounce things off for different results in roleplaying it's self. So the goal of roleplay should be a reason to make a round unique in someway, in order to have a story. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To organize players, either around random shit to do of interest, or to maintain order and a challenge against antags. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: I think the biggest responsibility is enabling RP instead of looking for ways to shut it down. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? No stranger to aliens from his times working out in the frontier when he wasn't operating in Sol Alliance space. The myriad of ways aliens are accommodated for might be a bit odd to his established world view of them. So Tau Ceti might seem to have it's priorities out of place to him but he can make due. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?
Head of Personnel Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.:
A previously unmade one, Castor Gaston, and Head of Personnel How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I give it a thinking emoji out of a nerfed zzzoda Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?
Yeah alright Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?
I am the wiki. Extra notes:

You did good Abo, real good. And I'm sure you'll continue to do so, even in a reduced role.

[Accepted] AndurilFlame's Human Lore Deputy App
SeniorScore replied to Pegasus's topic in Developer Applications Archives
As Coalf has said, he's extremely dedicated and consistent with his work he's put into Dominia (even the spritework, that's fucking neato), and has done a lot to make the faction seem more... presentable. -
I'd be down for paper planes fucking me over in sec instead of just getting meme'd the old way.

The idea and the voidsuit look good to me, really. And who doesn't want to rush the HoS' office to snatch that snazzy thing?

Ckey/BYOND Username:SeniorScore Position Being Applied For (coder, mapper, spriter):Human Lore Deputy Past Experiences/Knowledge:Worked in the position previously, and continue to work on lore elements outside of it. Examples of Past Work:Cultural and Political History of Luna(https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Luna) Lore for the Japan province of Earth(https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Earth_Provinces) TURBO QUOIT Preferred Mode of Communication (Skype, Steam, etc.):Discord(SeniorScore) Additional Comments: Humanity's vast emptiness beckons once more to me, and I want to stand forward and fill it. My hiatus from being able to have a more direct influence upon humanity's birth system and beyond has gone on long enough, I feel, and I'm eager to get back at it.

Aurora's Next Big Thing -- And Your Ideas For It
SeniorScore replied to Skull132's topic in General Announcements
Something along these lines, essentially, would have an easier time justifying interesting shit that could actually be related to lore occurring there. Just turn the construction level into a space mall, throw a bunch of docks on it, have MOTHER FUCKING CONTRACTORS man shops on the level. Or NT employees, but being contractors would I think drive an increase desire in seeing other corporations actually doing things if people suddenly have to care about them for their characters. -
I see no downsides
-
Yeah making it an ability sounds pretty good

Lit, thanks mofo,

[Resolved] Player Complaint - CommanderXor
SeniorScore replied to AmoryBlaine's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Security didn't exactly have a lot of options to press us, given their stolen armory *and* voidsuits, treating them as a threat when we weren't in the station is laughable, especially when they were trying to evac anyway. It's one thing to claim 'well I didn't think we should leave loose ends' except you have a consistent pattern of trying to seek out something to shoot. Unless it's ERT then you run off and blow yourself up -
I'm doing my part! Remember New Cairo!

I can't really think of any downsides. -
I personally felt it was fairly obvious what was being laid down involving the tainted areas (and departures not being safe, lmao), and that the pacing was fine, but I was fairly active being in engineering, between trying to seal breaches and breaking into things for security. Not exactly your fault. But I had a fairly good time pushing my luck against unholy whatever the fuck was chilling on the station as I was trying to make sure the station was still operational in some sense.
