1. Did this one round with some science things, stood there and explained the various items to crew, ran it like a science fair to encourage people to join science. I would definitely support a Librarian revamp, 90% of books are trash.
2. Patient Network of Moren Godswood M.D.+ Board Certified Neurological Psychologist and General Physician +Who is Dr. Moren Godswood? +Appointment Scheduling +Services Overview +Mental/Physical Health Resources +Questions and Answers +Professional Affiliates
3. I'd love to play something too, Stellaris is one of the few games I can run rather well.
4. I don't think this should apply if it's a project. Otherwise when Sue suggested her forensics rehaul, she'd have to had made a new thread for every single machine!
5. GO HERE: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=8342 Requesting this suggestion be closed in favour of the linked one above.
6. This is a result of the 'Remove 2 Chef Slot' suggestion. FIRST Essentially, move the Chef slot down to one, create a 'Head Chef/Kitchen Manager' role, this allows one person to have creative direction over the kitchen, and keeps two roles in there without crowding the manifest, and gives someone authority so they can actually work in cohesion, as well, give this Head Chef authority over the bartender and gardeners so service can finally work in unison and run a bar/restaurant. This role would be equivalent to the QM, but for the kitchen areas, and would still be under the HoP. SECOND Waiter or Server as an alt-title for chef plz thanks.
7. I agree Arrow768 , I motion for this suggestion to formally become adding a 'Head Chef/Kitchen Manager' role to supervise the service (food/drink) staff!
8. At Walmart, I am required to ask anyone who is stocking shelves or in an employee area that doesn't have a nametag who they are, what they are doing and then to report to Customer Service to register as a visitor, or put their ID on if they're an employee. And Im just a stocking associate.
9. Nursie has never failed to bring a certain level of excellence to all of her characters and the role's they play, I definitely support this and think she will flesh the character out nicely once given the chance!
10. Its not just about ban evader, even WITH another competent chef it's like chewing glass. You bump into eachother, have different cooking and serving styles, etc. Like I said, I have a menu and make people order, if a chef that puts food up on the counter comes along and makes a bunch of great food and leaves it sitting out, my play is ruined because no one is going to order
11. Simple. Having two chefs is just conflict after conflict unless one agrees to be subservient, too often have I tried to run a decent establishment with a well-written and formatted menu, grown lots of ingredients myself and ordered things in, just to have a bald chef rush in and burn half of everything and put crappy food out on the counter. There is only room in the kitchen for one chef.
12. While I myself have had many issues with Adolph, I support Bathsalt and his ability to roleplay, and I trust that my IC grudges against his character are just that, IC issues between characters, not an inability to lead.
13. Please realize the character he is using there doesn't matter, he will still make Adolph a Head regardless of what character of he uses for his head application. I had 7 Head characters, none of which I used during my original application.
14. I'm not overly fond of Adolph, but I like him better than every other Warden because none of them do much of anything.. I think you're a competent player and I'd support this to see how you do in command. +1
15. I haven't really been uninvolved in roleplay, I've kept my skills and experience up by roleplaying on other servers, and the length of this break isn't unlike a break I had taken before, which I came back into head play immediately after. I have three years of experience playing as Heads of Staff on Aurora, and was only absent from January to now due to the ban, the ban which had nothing to do with my IC conduct, nor my Head of Staff play. But I can understand where you are coming from.
16. BYOND key: XanderDox Character names: [PRIMARY AND ACTIVE] Emma Godswood Moren Godswood Klaus Eliade Jester Stamos Zion Thrusk Vivian Rival Katelynn Swarner How long have you been playing on Aurora?: A few years Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I love playing Head of Staff roles and the roleplay they provide, I've always had a passion for the management aspect of play (it's like Dwarf Fortress!) and I've been on the whitelist twice before and always have received great feedback on all of them. Why did you come to Aurora?: I came back because the roleplay environment here is amazing and comfortable compared to other 'HRP' servers on the hub. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes, multiple times. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is about separating yourself from the character you are playing, and acting as if you are X person in X setting, relevant to whatever game you are playing. In the case of Aurora, this is playing a believable employee aboard the NSS Exodus/Aurora, in a civilian research setting. You do this within the specific confines of the lore of the universe you're in, irregardless of whether or not something would be possible IRL. (Suspension of disbelief). Roleplay is about getting to be someone different, having fun, and disconnecting/escaping from 'you' for awhile. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Ingame, a Head of Staff is meant to be a figure of standard, a standard that others (new or unwhitelisted players) can look up to, ask questions of, and request training/guidance from. They are there to ensure the round is enjoyable for people within the in game regulations and server rules. They help ensure there is a certain standard of roleplay and mechanical play as well by ensuring players know how to work in their departments and serving as an example of a good roleplayer, and should be willing to report issues to staff promptly. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: They have a few responsibilities to other players in my mind, which are the following: Ensuring enjoyment of other players without it being at the complete expense of their own, providing a source of knowledge on the department in which they are the Head of Staff for any IC or OOC questions/training, serving as a knowledgeable person on server rules and corporate regulations/policy as well as a model roleplayer. In the past as Head, I have achieved these goals by constantly seeking out chances to include the crew in fun activities or challenge them, including creating physical therapy and dog-petting therapy rooms as the CMO, hosting 'science fairs' and 'Xenoarch Exhibitions' as the RD, setting station-wide goals and encouraging use of finances as Captain and HoP. As well, I've always kept the wiki open during play in the event that if I need to refer to it to help answer questions, I am able to do so promptly and provide linked references. As well, I frequently contacted server staff via ahelp if I thought someone could use some assistance that was outside of my scope, or if I was too busy to handle explaining how Aurora works. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Klaus Eliade Character age: 34 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Niklaus 'Klaus' Paul Eliade was born born on May 13th, 2425 to a middle-upper class family on Biesel. His parents both worked in mid-level management for the majority of his young life - his father at Hephaestus Industries, and his mother at Bishop Cybernetics - and as such Klaus was often left to his own devices, and frequently had new babysitters, leading to a very detached relationship between Klaus and his family, and little desire to spend more time than required staying in the family home. At 18 following his graduation from his high school, he enrolled in Laurentian Univeristy in an Honours Bachelor program, for a degree in Emergency and Security Management Studies with a focus on business application. After a mediocre first four years at Laurentian, Klaus left the university with his bachelors degree and transferred to the NanoTrasen-sponsored Garnell University to pursue a Masters is Risk Management. During his studies at Garnell, Klaus entered the working world of private security contracting, starting at NanoTrasen as a Security Cadet before moving up to the position of Internal Security Officer, NanoTrasen would also agree to host him for his required co-operative education hours required for his Masters. Following his attainment of his Masters in Risk Management, Klaus moved his focus to the sole goal of moving up the food chain at NanoTrasen, a company he had grown fond of working with over the last few years of his education and career. It's been 10 years since he graduated from Garnell, and he was worked with NanoTrasen as a Security Officer since, and has attained his Warden Qualifications - although it is a position he will only accept assignment too if nobody else is able to make the shift, as he waits not being able to respond to calls. Klaus has formally put in his request for promotion with the Central Command Internal Affairs Bureau at the NTCC Odin, and is patiently awaiting a response, and hopes that the potential salary increase will help him pay off the last of his student loans. What do you like about this character?: Klaus feels very natural to play, and he always try to be swift and efficient. He also has a very strong loyalty to NanoTrasen, which makes him very interesting in revolution rounds, as he generally won't join the loyalists or revolutionaries, as he has a strong idea of NanoTrasen which is entwined with his own identity, and being forced by a loyalist or revolutionary leader to do something may contradict the ideal path for NanoTrasen to take. In the past, this led to him being a neutral force, as well as being assassinated by the Captain. What do you dislike about this character?: He's sometimes rigid and un-moving due to his adherence to regulations and orders, and will not hesitate to take down even his closest friends if they threaten the company or break regulations. This can make it hard to maintain relationships, and as such he usually maintains purely professional relations with all fellow employees, it's kinda lonely. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: I think Klaus is fit to be a Head of Staff due to his (dependence-based) loyalty to NanoTrasen, as well as his extensive law enforcement and private security experience outside of the company. He has been a Sergeant in a police force which provided him the chance to lead a team of officers himself and supervise shifts. He is also overtly willing to help out other crew members when he's not carrying out orders or responding to calls. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: 7/10 It's not excellent, but I would say my ability to create believable characters and interact with others as said character is to the point that I can do so with confidence and not break immersion, my knowledge of the lore of the environment I'm in also helps with this as I can roleplay more deeply in terms of the universe itself, talking about recent politics, world events, the company, etc Extra notes: Klaus' biography talks about him being an HoS because he was my HoS character before my whitelist was revoked in coherence with a permanent ban. I've been a Head since I started playing Aurora, applying three months into my first year here, and removed myself willingly from the whitelist once before reapplying when I was ready. I am re-applying as a result of the aforementioned permanent ban, which has now been lifted.
17. Thank you so much!
18. I shall very excitedly and eagerly await your decision.
19. The reason that I feel that I should be un-banned is not one that necessarily equate to me believing or insisting I /deserve/ to be unbanned, which is why this has taken me awhile to mull over. This reason is, that I am incredibly dedicated and passionate about Aurora, it's community and it's place within SS13 'culture' . While my behaviour hadn't been excellent in the year or so leading up to my ban (as the notes I requested show), I do think that it's nearly undeniable that I am incredibly dedicated to this server and community, and that I have to the best of my ability, tried to engage and expand opportunities for involvement for others ICly and OOcly throughout my play. I had also tried to get involved in both the Lore Team and CCIA to attempt to contribute on a staff level, both teams I resigned from, not feeling that I was contributing to the extent standard I hoped to, mostly due to personal disagreements with other team members. While on lore, I made a redevelopment of IPC lore (which was eventually dropped for Jackfractal's version), and on CCIA, I made a newsletter for players to read to get some more IC meta going, although this has fallen out of use by the current CCIA crew. In my role as Heads, I had consistently tried to engage ICly by giving departments tasks, encouraging use of station financial accounts, and being active even during dead hours. One of my favourite versions of this was the FAP or 'Facility Action Plan' , which was an outline of goals for departments to attempt to complete before the end of the shift, and the joke that 'Central Command loves a good FAP' . I don't necessarily consider this as 'deserving' an unban, as I don't think any volunteer contribution to the server should be made with the expectation of getting something in return, but I do think it outlines the love and care I have for this place and the people that are in it.
20. Been super busy! Life update: Just found a place to live when I move out for my first year of Uni, yay! To respond to your request Garn, I have tried a few times to make a response that properly and expansively answered your question, and I've failed with each one. It's too hard to explain such a thing too you, especially when it'll be directly compared to my terrible prior behaviour. So I'm sorry that I can't explain why you should accept my appeal, but given the chance - I would love to show you why I should remain unbanned if unbanned. Tldr; It'd be much easier to partake as a player for a bit to show you what's changed about me than to try and arbitrarily lay it out here. If this isn't really something you like, I can try to get everything into words.
21. I think it'd actually be great to have my notes leading up to my final two bans posted here so we can what I was being watched for and such. So far I think both of you have made excellent points for and against accepting my appeal here, I don't intend to address every individual point of Delta's because a lot of it boils down to me being a shitty person all around - something I will confess too. Over the last six months, a lot has changed. I got out of one relationship and into another, I've lost friends to car accidents and suicide, been accepted to university for Social Work, got way more drunk than I should have and worked a full shift the next glorious morning. It's been half a year since I last played, I'm not asking for you to forget that I was a terrible asshole to a lot of folks, but you also need to remember that for a long time people weren't nice to me either. I was followed to other servers I tried to make a new home on, only to be attacked and called cancerous and so many other things. There was a time in which there was a group of 15+ players in a skype ground specifically talking shit about me and discussing how they were egging me on in OOC just to get a reaction hoping I would be punished, because they knew I was short-fused. I knew a lot of people harbored very ill-will against me, and a lot of the people I got on with really well (Covert, Nightmare, etc) have moved on from the server, and so quickly there were only negative things being shared about me without any positive voices, it got very overwhelming to deal with and I repeatedly failed to see the Administration try and stop this meta-bullying, and I'm not even blaming the admins for that, they had a lot going on around some of that time with the Cassie bullshit and constant staff reshuffling and resignations and such and that's just how the cards got dealt. But I don't care about that anymore. When I first came here, in my third or so month of play, Skull had called me an idiot in OOC and dragged me through the mud, making me feel like the biggest loser on the server. Then we talked on the forums via PMs about me and my whitelist. What Skull told me in that conversation is part of my reason for this appeal. Way back when, Skull told me that I should take a break from playing Heads of Staff, sit back in a lower role and gain some perspective, understand what it means to be lesser, so you can become greater. This is essentially the same situation, I've taken the step back (albeit, by the force of a ban), I've brooded for six months, and I've looked at everything I did, and I've tried to reconnect with a few Auroran's outside of SS13. I think I am ready to return to Aurora as a rule-abiding, grateful player, and that's the perspective I currently am maintaining.
22. BYOND Key: XanderDoxen Total Ban Length: Permanent (IP+ComputerID) Banning staff member's Key: Garnascus Reason of Ban: Repetitively toxic behaviour and disrespect despite warnings and deals made with the Administration (Paraphrased from memory as BYOND has a bug that doesn't show ban/denied access reasons) Reason for Appeal: It's been quite a few months since I was re-permabanned, after failing to maintain my side of a deal with Garnascus and by bannning admin, Serveris. The deal was that I would not speak out against or at the administration team, and most importantly not insult them. Due to personal conflicts with some of the administrators, I found it personally difficult to uphold this as I thought I was being treated unfairly over all by a few of them, and so I lashed out at one, resulting the insta-ban clause of my deal with the admins. I do regret the insults I have put against present and former staff members here, although I do stand by the fact that there were some who were treating me incredibly unfairly, there were proper channels to address these issues and I chose to take none of them, a decision I have grown to regret immensely. I spent the last three years of high school (Grade 9, 10 and 11) playing Aurorastation, and unfortunately I have not been able to play for my fourth, and most turbulent year (or most of it) . In the past three months alone, I've gone through many events that I would usually turn to Aurorastation to cope with, and I've realized how much I miss the interactions I had with not only this community's characters, but those within the community itself. I understand that near the end of my play here, I poisoned a lot of those relationships I had forged over the years, and I'm not asking any of those people to forgive me. What I am asking for, is the ability to show my value as a player who has a strong dedication and love for this community (I've been checking the forums as a guest regularly for the last while, and begging Garn for the ability to appeal my ban for a bit too) . In the time away from Aurora, I've played on various other stations that are RP focused (Baystation, Polaris, etc..) but none of them have such a connected and roleplay-oriented community, the kind of environment I seek in long-term play. I miss all of you very much and want to play with you guys again, if you unban me, I will not seek out any involvement in IC-meta activities, events, staff teams or other areas in which I acted or behaved poorly. I just want to be able to play with you guys again Thank you for taking the time for reading this, please leave your input for the admins, because I do not want to come back to Aurora if my presence is going to disturb a significant portion of the community, I understand a lot of them were happy I was banned and if that portion remains active I do not wish to detract from their play experience at all. (exhibit A: http://puu.sh/w4MuE/59bbd01384.jpg ) Special thanks you to Garnascus for unbanning my forum account so I could post this appeal, especially after how I treated him and the language I used when speaking to him. ( )
23. hello, this office was built as an example of what an Office could look like if the suggestion is received well??? And I did not say he was overly supportive, my only mention of FT was this: "Okay so I pitched this idea to ForgottenTraveller and he wanted me to put it here to see what you all thought." And you can see me saying this was an example of what an office could look like (as the suggestion discusses formatting, and I was not going to suggest something without a possible product of the suggestion's inception) here: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=7709#p74513 Once again, the 'Administration' is more of an 'Adminifailure' that cannot simply message someone and ask them a question, and makes constant assumptions which completely end in them making an idiot of themselves. Congratulations on once again proving yourself inept, you're really taking to your BYOND name, Aimless.
24. Hello. Requesting this be closed, I have nothing further to address here and no one else is saying anything.
