1. More events like this, please. They're really good, and bring the world outside the station to life. The way it was woven into the development of a separate investigation, and spread into the Relay, and NT-ISD discord was great. I was barely apart of it, but overall just an amazing idea for an event. 10/10 -IGN.
2. UnknownMurder Your orders were followed, in fact, but as I was leaving to patrol, the Wizard engaged me immediately. Read can confirm this, as I sent a screenshot of it, and the logs will back this up. "You shouldn't always be focused on killing antagonists as Security Officer, that is not the very basic foundation of a Security Officer. " This implies that's what I do, which it isn't. The wizard did something extremely out of place and un-natural, converting a crewmember into another human being. The crew member, the bartender, was moved to the brig on grounds that they were no longer crew, and had unknown properties that should be looked at by Research. The wizard was also going to be detained, but I was not able to handle them alone. Given Daniel's stance on DNA manipulation into a different being voiding your employment with NT, and creating an unknown, the Wizard used this to threaten him with the staff, something that neither you, nor kyres1's Officer heard apparently, even though it was said right in front of Processing One, where you all were. When you ordered me to leave, I did so, and, as I already said, they decided to engage me. The issue was cleared up by Read, and I decided to cryo as the ahelp allowed the Wizard to get the drop on me while I responded. Yeah, I bitched in LOOC after being dicked by the wizard while trying to answer an ahelp. They teleported to where I was and immediately used magic missle, just as they had at the Security lobby. Not the best move on my part, but I stopped after realizing that.
3. I rationalized what I did with facts from the round that came before me shooting anyone. If that's 'rambling' and 'vague' I don't know what you want.
4. There's forms that are signed to make carrying weapons legal on station. I'm fine with some people having pistols. SOME people. I can see allowing people with clean records to carry a pistol, say on Code Blue. And really, I just want a deterrence from Rev/Militias buying larger guns. Small concealable firearms are something you'd expect- not rifles and shotguns. And, I guess, as for buying it at work, since NT is against you bringing guns to work, they get to take back a bit of the pay they give you doing that. So you buy a cheap gun at work, for that shift, and then hand it over on the Odin, it re-enters the cargo system, someone else buys it. REALLY all guns are just being rented lmao.
5. Security was non-existant. It was a detective, a cadet, and an Officer. What they asked of the asssitant is irrelevent as we were in the process of leaving the station area. You cannot reason that you killing someone would stop a manhunt, as now there's a missing person at the same time as our very observable visit. You pushed us from being thieves who wounded a guy, to thieves who aducted/killed someone. You likely made it worse on the raider crew than anything else. He has viewed the interior of a very stock shuttle. This doesn't help the authorities at all in identifying the ship, as he barely knows what the exterior looks like anyways. You've got a really loose 'they can't identify us now'/'it put our lives in jeopardy' arguement going here, and I just took it apart. No, not the crew. OUR crew. The three of us. Instead you gloated in LOOC proud of your kill.
6. Kolthoff You've disregarded the rest of my argurment and fall back on pointing out one single word and it's exagerated importance. You don't know half of my characters, or what their thoughts are on authority, or orders, or utilitarian thinking, so at this point you're just grabbing at the air. Concerning orders, yeah, when given orders it's situational. When all the female crew are being stuck with service jobs, he's not going to enforce that. Had there not been extra units present during that merc round, Daniel would have just surrendered. Rosetango Your character sticks their nose into places they shouldn't be, your character actively gets in the way of both Medical and Security situations to 'help' and all it does is create issues. When you come inside Security to comfort someone who just shot Sean Ritcher five times in the chest, and is now dead, he'a not going to be cool with you doing that. He's going to want you out. And at large, you actively disobey requests and orders to remove yourself from Security and Medical. You seem to force your character into literally every single situation, and constantly fight over comms with people who slight you. Don't be surprised when he attempts to physically remove you for disobeying orders to remain away from the murderer. There's also a lot that Daniel has heard through other Security characters that has influenced what he thinks of her. I'm not going to spoil any of it, nor name any names, for the sake of RP and fairness. On another note, during yesterday's heist round, while an ahelp was made concerning who had shot first, and we all waited together- CommanderXor, SeniorScore, Kolthoff Willow Harper decided to pop up, and insert herself, disregarding that he situation was being handled OOCly with the ahelp, as I had told her in LOOC, and dragged Kolthoff's Detective away, I was given an opportunity to shoot them both, but decided to remain waiting for the ahelp response. All the while he was LOOCing about wanting to be killed because we didn't RP to his standard before shooting him. And with these new developments, I may make a complaint on that as well, and Rosetango. Phone responses are shit, so I might edit this into looking nicer. Probably not though.
7. I apologize to a majority of the characters I kill OOCly after the round ends. Because even when it's justified it's still taking a player out of the round for an hour to two hours. It isn't some admission of guilt thing, I do it both to antags I kill and people I kill as antag. If I kill you I'm likely going to apologize if you RPed with me rather then wordlessly shooting. The other day I apologized to a detective for murdering him with high explosive in the middle of a manhunt after an hour of RP. I lasered a traitor to death? I apologize. It's not an admission of guilt, it's me trying to be a decent person. You can people I interact with a lot and they'll often say I apologized for killing them or harming them. You answered a portion of what I said, not all of it. What did killing him offer the round? How did you deciding to kill them then and there have any infulence on Roleplay or story development? You killed them, came back on the shuttle then LOOC'd your deed. You did not even tell the rest of the crew you had done this. To you this player, and their character, were entirely expendable for the sake of your want to kill someone that round, something you were deprived off when Dante, the Detective we engaged, was not killed but detained and given back.
8. A lot of what you being up has no basis in fact, and is just your opinion on what I've done with my own character in antag situations of dire stress and rapid action. The most you can lay at me is that I'm heated and sometimes baton stuff too fast- not applying to any situation involving you. I know I'm in the right for almost everything I do ICly because almost everything I do ICly is directed by Command, or questioned by ahelps which are then settled. If I was in the wrong with either as much as you claim, I would not still be playing here. Most every situation I'm in that is ahelped, is entirely legitimate and approved. You can say you don't like it when I prod you for Vamp-Stunning me, or that you don't like it when I shoot your Merc after they are very vocal about their intentions, but that does not change the fact that I am allowed to act as I do, by testimate of the ahelps leveled against me and my reasoning for my actions.
9. You apologized for what reason if it was not in poor taste for you to have killed them? These actions drove nothing to further the round. You murdered that character because you didn't get to shoot much else that round. I am entirely willing to stand by what I said against you, as you have not at all understood how disgusting it is for you to have taken advantage of a player, let alone new, who had already been dicked with once for the last 20 to 30 minutes and dicked them again.
10. Kiahkaaatiyaaaa. If they're the one that screams so loud it is suppose to cause harm to people's eardrums, then it's a -1. If it's anyone of the other merchants, it's a +1. Vox merchants are pretty much the only way people get to learn about them other than reading the wiki, o it breaths character into the species. And I can't think of any particularly bad Vox merchants.
11. Kolthoff "And the "situation" amounted to the AI (the player of which I am uncertain) informing us the "intruders" were by the library. Coming from two different directions Carmichael (accompanied by two combat borgs) and I surrounded them, at which point, without word, he opened fire." A keen observer would have heard the first responder, the other stationbound yell on comms something close to, "UNIT IS IN PROGRESS OF BEING COMPROMISED." and their hatch being opened. A keen observer would have also seen the multiple empty casings of 10mm ammunition around the Central halls. I opened fire and it was entirely justified, given these facts, and the fact the CMO had given me express authority to carry out lethal force against the self-admitted thieves with intent to kill, and nuke the station given we didn't pile into their shuttle. "Later found by an EMT, my character was revived, at which point I discovered Carmichael was bragging about massacring the merc team over common comms. An action which I would think borders on OOC in IC, but nonetheless, would be unfitting of a Security Officer. When my character prompted him to cease this conversation, Carmichael ignored the advice and continued his bragging." - It's almost as if he, the Director of Research and yourself just thwarted a Code Red, pending full blown Code Delta, disaster with zero casualties on the station side, and a quick clean-up. As an addition, see my point about him snapping. "All that, I suppose, is to say that I agree that there seems to be a constant issue of "play-to-win" with this player." I'd have to disagree there, as it was only with the express orders given by Command that allowed the killing of the mercs to take place. Before that point, I was almost entirely for just surrendering as I was pretty sure any resistance would have been swiftly put down, but thanks to the Station bounds, we stood a chance.
12. - Do you have proof of me spending my rounds waiting for Antagonists to pop up? Most rounds, I patrol around, or try to find someone to RP with. If that does work, and I'm feeling lethargic, I'll sit in a chair for a few minutes and go for a physical walk or watch a video on youtube. - Valid-hunting I have a record of getting kills, and being good at combat. Just because you, an active antag player, meet the business-end of my baton/shotgun/carbine/rifle often, does not mean it is valid-hunting. Most rounds I meet you, it's with express orders to engage you, or after you've made threats against my life, or the integrity of the station. - Meta-grudging What meta-grudging? Even with how heated I get, I never act on how I actually feel, and it's something I'm really glad I can control, because I admit, I have issues with anger, and being extremely emotional- as is known, and was a factor in my Head of Staff whitelist removal and going back on my Mod applications. - Toxic behavior in OOC I was taken aback by your actions, as was I of the other Raider's. Both of you abused the fact that there was a freshspawn, who was easy to catch, and force your will upon them. His was stuffing them in a cell, your's was shooting them with your shotgun. [see my complaint: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=11487 ] If you can't take a few harsh words, that were stopped when the Staff member requested them to, then I suggest you get some thicker skin. - Toxic behavior on Discord Seeing as this was between you and I in private messages, I'd consider that to be private as in separate from the server, as they do not oversee it. What is said there can surely be used against someone, but what you have shown is me being heated towards you concerning your actions as a player. If it bothers you to recieve DMs from me, in any nature, block me. - Character Behavior I can't think of much to add here, so I'll wait for responses.
13. You handled Rookie, who was TheBimmer. I have no issue with how you handled him, as I have no details of it.
14. BYOND Key: AmoryBlaine Game ID: bVh-aL5G Player Byond Key: CommanderXor Staff involved: N/A Reason for complaint: Number of infractions; Don't be a Dick, Only resort to killing if it makes sense or drives the story, No ganking. So, we're raiders. We come aboard and do our business. One of our team runs off and kidnaps someone, Riley Sorna, played by Ajulex. They're new, and raider 'Rookie' takes them to our shuttle and stuffs them in the brig, and leaves them. So for a good while this poor fucker is stuck in there with nothing going on, and he sticks it out. We finally get back, and find this. ICly and OOCly it sickens me and the other human raider present and we let him go, under the watch of CommanderXor's Vaurca, The Scurge. RATHER than do as instructed he took him outside and shot him. He comes back and gloats about it in LOOC. This is at the end of the round, with a few minutes left as the shuttle had landed. And rather than let this new guy go, to make up for the waste of 20-30 of their minutes by the other Raider, he decides to kill them after 'RPing'. I find this incredibly despicable because it shows so little care for them, and served zero point in driving the round, nor did it make any sense as we were leaving. His defense, when I brought this shit to him in discord was that since his character was a Lii'dra, and that they knew what our ship looked like, thus it's okay. How you can rationalize killing someone so pointlessly simply because you are 'Bad guy' is beyond me, especially considering how often he is Antag. I told him off a bunch, yeah. Frankly, I get a little heated when I hear someone gloat about how they dicked over another player, after knowing that that player was already dicked over by someone else. Below are the screenshots relevant. This is the 'RP' this guy was given. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? No, it was at the very end of the round. Approximate Date/Time: 10/07/2018: 02:15(?)AM
15. Couldn't something be done so that ONLY lings don't slip on gibs? It is annoying when you're trying to build atmosphere and fucking fall, get beaten to shit then arrested.
16. .45 rubber is sufficient and each officer gets a solid 14 shots. That's a lot of wiggle room for antags on Green, and when there's no Warden, HoS or AI around- while not exactly so little that Officers are screwed. Trust me, it's like 4 hits and most enemies, save the Hardsuited and non-humanoid, will go down easily. Giving officers the option to lethal is also bad for training them. You give them the option to lethal and they'll expect it, always. It's good to beat into our, the officers', little brains that the lethals are locked off for a reason- and to teach them to be resourceful.
17. Senpai Jackboot If I quote you there's too much bloat. I do not come here for combat first, but this does not mean I do not view this change as entirely pointless. You do not even need to play Officer to know that. All it does is make me have to actively swap between the modes, something I don't want to care about because they're already together and fine as is. There's nothing added to this but a cheap 'nerf'. You are suppose to be resourceful. So you have to get your hands dirty. Oh well. Security is suppose to be a one up from you. You bag an Officer and you're pretty much set. So I don't see why you need more of a chance. Stab the fucker in the eyes, use soap, or sleepy pen. Drug him. This is a game about creativity and you're cutting down strategy to "Do I want to read records or be protected from a flash." Like I keep saying, it's a pain in the ass.
18. So because the ninja has acess to three extremely useful visor settings to one at a time, I should be limited to my HUD or flash defender one at a time too? You fail to mention the ninja's issue is easily circumvented by TCing a HEATgoggle or finding Mesons. That's two of three now activated. Two of three role important visor modes. You don't even need NVGs because if you have hest and mesons you see most everything in maintenace. The tunnels are lines that are easily followable with zero desbris. By comparison, in utility, the HUD and flash are pointless, and I am now of the entire opinion that the glasses should be removed entirely. Why the hell not. Flashes are obsolete against most humanoid enemies, and pepperspray is back in and HUD records are also available in my PDA. You as antag don't have access to tools? What is the tool storage room? What is your TCdevice? What is maintenace? What is beepsky? What is any job with access to any number of locations? Use what you have, a lot of shit, to your advantage. The average Sec Officer isn't James Bond- especially now that he can't flash stun you. And no, again, that is not strategy. It's a pain in my ass. They should go on when needed and be done with, not piddled around with. I don't come here for the gripping combat, and especially not so I can pause before interacting with people to decide how to use my glasses. Senpai Jackboot
19. I agree that's a bit much. It should do greater damage to legs though. For busting them. Don't fuck with Command, yo.
20. This is balance? Removing the slight edge Security has with flashes is balance? Mind you, Security is free to kill for most every antag. So how exactly does putting them on par with anyone with access to sunglasses help with that balance? Another question is why can't HUDSunglasses or HUDAviators project the HUD and divert flashes at the same time? Given that the holographic HUD is within a layer of cirucuitry in the lense, as is the flash protector, what is stopping them from working at the same time? And, no. It's not tactical, nor has it to do anything with 'strategy'. It's about 'nerfing' Security having a slight edge over perps. There is no tactics in me having to shut off the HUD because I might have to flash someone, nor is it stragetic. It's just a pain in the ass.
21. But why is this good? Why is the Security team suppose to be 'on par' with everyone else when it comes to flashes?
22. "We'll add a verb." I don't want a verb. I want to be able to put on my glasses and be done. I don't want to fiddle around with the inane question of, "Well, do I need HUD or flash?", I want to get to doing other stuff, like interacting with suspects. If I'm going into situations with the thought of, "Well, I should probably leave my flash on." that tells the suspect I'm likely going to kick his shit in, and he'll be able to tell by looking at my glasses. Leave your toggles out, let me focus on RPing and either wearing, or not wearing my glasses. Not swapping toggle modes.
23. >Yes. However, it is a nerf that will require you as a Security player to actually think before you do How exactly does this make Security players think more than they already do? Welding goggles have a 'nerf' because they're not suppose to be used to fight flashes, but to weld. If you're seeking out anti-flash why would you look for a pair of goggles over sunglasses anyways? I don't understand why you think this is something we need changed.
24. What does Beepsky have to do with it? The beepsky unit only checks record if activated, which is only ever done by your's truly, and even then, I usually turn him off anyways, and stick him in Security.
25. Welding protection is not the same as flash protection, because you aren't expected to be wearing goggles or a mask the whole shift, as is usually enforced by HoS concerning glasses. I for one do not even wear the glasses as is unless responding to a call, or on Code Blue alert and higher. When I get flashed, it's never when I am expecting to get flashed. Flashes are a up-close and personal thing. No one is going to be "HELLO, HERE TO FLASH YOU." about flashing you. If they're obvious about making shit go down, they're going to bring a lot more to the table than an flash.
