I'm also not sure what you mean by bloat being irrelevant. Then again, I'm not sure if Snoopy means item bloat, or screen bloat.

Welding goggles ICly are heavy duty goggles meant to stop your eyes from being severely damaged while welding. They are the 'ghetto' flash protectors. Security SECHUDsunglasses are built with the specific purpose of giving Officers access to HUDs and protection from their flashes, or other flashes. Why would you drop security to the same level as someone seeking out welding goggles as flash protection when the whole point of SECHUDsunglasses is so you're a step above them?

In what way does forcing Officers to choose between Flash protection and their HUD better gameplay? In what scenario am I going to need one, and not the other? If it's Green and nothing is going on, why do I need to wear either at all? If I'm checking someone's records, it's because I'm suspicious of them. If I'm flash protected, I want to make sure those around me are not individuals I want arrested, or are already set to arrest. This opens gaps and will have me needing to avert my eyes from what is going on, to flip the toggle modes, by clicking a button. This slows shit down, as we see from most people who have no idea as to how to macro, when they use shotguns, or rifles. This is needless, and this is not what I want, personally, but I am sure the majority of Security players will agree that it's better as is. Mind you, I like the sprites a bit. Although, the colours come off as weak and watery. They fail to match the rest of the Security wear.

Fine as is. Needs no real changes.

[Retracted] Lilah's Fun Moderator Application!!
AmoryBlaine replied to lilahnovi's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
Lilah's good people. I trust them to make the correct decisions when it comes to enforcing the rules, and to keep a level head. Although, it has been some time since last staffing a server. I'd like to see her Trial at the very least. -
With Flashes now being obsolete as an effective stun, pepperspray is back. But it isn't visible when [EDIT:] held*. So, someone needs to make a small red sprite for it in each hand so that people can see I am about to spray them, thus, giving a fair chance to them.

More important, it should slash apart a straightjacket, creating rags.

Add a warning and a delay to the ninjas self destruct
AmoryBlaine replied to Spider's topic in Archive
Add it. Honestly, you can run, but your ass is still grass. But better grass than ash, in my opinion. -
I really hated the Kell thing, and I still cringe whenever I think about it. I do, however, think they've changed a lot since last I'd seen them. If he wants to bring a new Head of Security to the table, it is wholy needed. But, I would prefer to not watch another Officer character go up the ranks so quickly. The more times I see this, the more obvious it is to me that Security is actually just about 15 active players with about 15 randoms thrown in on top. We need new names, we need more diversity in the characters that make up Security because character diversity gives us all a look a how different individuals react. But yeah, +1 as long as you make a new character for the role.

[Dismissed] Antag whitelist for special antags
AmoryBlaine replied to BurgerBB's topic in Rejected Policy
I'm for it, but this shouldn't be based on whoever is simply the most mechanically robust. THE MOST important factor of ANY antag, is that they RP and provide for the round as a whole. -
Looks cool. Diversity in Ninjas is good. More colors, better.
-
Needs more neon Red. Not a fan of the Green.

This is just the most awful suggestion I've heard in awhile. Why would anyone want this? Why would you actively make an already pretty futile attempt and saving someone even worse?
-
Yeah, their Cyborg swears a lot, they don't seem to really be a station bound. EDIT: Maybe there's a misunderstanding as to what a stationbound is- concerning personality. I don't know. But I really think they could rework the character.
-
Actually, combat with this wouldn't be so hard. We already have vision direction locks with alt+arrow key. It's the same as maintenance combat. Lock your vision in the direction of your opponent. As long as while you can run, you can blindfire behind you by clicking the 'dead' vision area, I'm fine with this.

[ACCEPTED] Complete Garbage's Diona/e/a Application
AmoryBlaine replied to a topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I am a fan of Garbage's characters. They're good, he's good. -
>get out of cryogenics aboard the USS Sulaco. >See some dress shoes >pick them up >smash myself in the chest a few times before finally figuring out how to wear items >stumble around until I end up in maintenance tunnel across from Cargo >hear explosion >start vomiting >start halucinating >die screaming for help in tunnel It was a good day to die.

[Accepted]Chen's Tajaran Whitelist Application
AmoryBlaine replied to Chen Yakumo's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Seen some of their characters around. They're good at RP. Can't comment on Taj stuff, though. But I think they can handle it. -
Player is exceptional at RP from what I've seen. Can't comment on their Unathi lore knowledge or anything related to Unathi, but I really think they ought to know their stuff, seeing as they do such a swell job in their other characters at portraying fleshed out beings rather than 2D cardboard cut-outs.

That is a bad idea. Jobs having a unique set of clothes is not a detriment. It is the uniform of the detective. We have an endless number of other suits you can wear already. They have badges, they have their specialized vests, they even have their guns. Why can't the rest of us have access to an array of professional work attire? Detectives are not required to wear the clothing given to them. Their only requirement is being dressed professionally- which can be done with most of the load-out suits.

I was thinking that, rather than on-station NT accounts being an actual representation of your overall account, they were more like an immediate "I need money for lunch or unforeseen events.". So your actual account just moves a small chunk of money into your on-station account. this way when occupational Visitor Cap Tain arrives after his shift as Captain, he isn't really that poor. At least not 'ICly'. His account will be shit, but this is jus ta write off to explain why it's like that for everyone. Each account value is linked to how much money you can bring aboard the station, rather than your actual earnings. I dunno, spitballing here.

No, you aren't suppose to wear formal wear, you're suppose to dress professionally, as you are a professional. Trench coats aren't formal anyways. I'm in favour for moving the style of the trench coats out of being locked to Detective purely to allow everyone to be able to choose them in the loadout. Remove the armor stats, make them all-use. This way you have all four coats usable rather than just two for Non-Detectives. Same with their suits, actually. It's crazy to me that specific suits are locked behind specific roles. Like I can't come to work in grey slacks and a white shirt because the Detective does as well, or I can't wear black slacks, a black belt and a white shirt because the IAA does. Everyone should be able to wear these combos because they're all just professional work attire and our setting is professional corporate research facility.
