[Denied]A'lyx Lemire Tajran Application
AmoryBlaine replied to tudeslildude's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I really hope you didn't pay for that OC in hopes of playing here with this character. That'd be extremely unfortunate. -
Re-add radio muffling when someone is either weakened or handcuffed.
AmoryBlaine replied to Scheveningen's topic in Archive
I can see the application if you're handcuffed, but I don't like the idea of you being fucked if you're simply downed. There's a difference between wielding and being able to use an item in hand while weakened, and just pressing a small button on the side of your earpiece. -
I like Richards, I know that she moves a lot. I can see her keeping this on her person at all times, and it'd be a nice starter for conversations. +1
-
I don't see the issue with the piece itself, but I'd prefer it not be worn during work hours. I'm not a fan of it not being her's either. It feels disrespectful to be wearing it while not having served in the position herself. But that's just me. +1 as long as it's not worn while working.
-
I'm not going to attempt to further argue against this. I stand by it being both foolish and nonsensical to have a character wear the armband of a long defunct resistance group to work. All other armbands worn are those of active organizations. This is, as I continue to point out, as bizarre as an American abroad wearing Colonial era headwear in order to spur on conversations about the War of Independence. -1
-
It's not a Provincial armband. It's the Polish Home Army armband. If it was simply just a something Polish I'd be aboard, but it's the fact that he wants to use the Polish Home Army armband and is very staunchly himself a Polish nationalist that makes me question adding it. Like I continue to point out, it's exactly the same as an American wearing a tricorne to his place of work in Hong Kong so he can talk about the War of Independance. No one wears historicial regalia around on the daily in order to show their support of X. Edit: >It seems like it serves its purpose wonderfully since you're already debating about whether the character should even FEEL pride in his nation's history or particular movements. He isn't talking about the character. He is speaking about himself. But either way he isn't debating it, nor is that the point. The point is to bring Polish nationalism into 2459. It has nothing to do with an inner struggle with the character's relationship with his province and people versus the big picture of Sol. He just wants to tell of the heroism of Polish resistance members in the Second World War. Why would someone from Poland living and employed in Tau Ceti in 2549 wear the armband of the Home Army and praise them? Because he, the player, does. He made that clear in his last post. It's solely about his, the player's, own patriotism.
-
>and Polish resistance was fighting over Nazi's( if you dont know.. theird reich was not part of Poland, that was another country) What argument are you trying to make? >Labeling one resistance as terrorist when even Irelands dudes says they are terrorist... *The "IRA" is a "Terrorist" group because they did not win. In the same way, the Polish Home Army is a "Resistance" group because they won. You do not understand how things work, you've put too much of your own blind patriotism into this and it isn't reflecting very well on you in my opinion. It still stands that no one will be wearing the armband of a long defunct partisan group from an Earth nation in Tau Ceti at work to tell tales of the heroism of their ancestors.
-
This is becoming foolish. You don't see the hypocrisy of labeling one resistance group as "Terrorists" while praising another? I think you've invested too much of your own nationalistic pride into this.
-
The IRA is a lot of things to a lot of different people. Both the Polish resistance and the Irish Republican Army have used violence and sabotage in order to try and remove the foreign powers within their territory. Either way, both would be about 400-500 years prior to the [Current Year] and so- again- I bring up the example of the American with the tricorne speaking of the revolution in the workplace- while in a foreign country.
-
That isn't the point. The point is it makes no sense for the average person to wear historical regalia in order to tell their co-workers* about their nationalistic pride. In the past there was a request for an IRA tricolour beret. This is in the same spirit of that application. The beret was denied. The example of an American wearing a tricorne and using it to spur on talks of independence and liberty while in Hong Kong still stands to show the oddness of the idea.
-
It's out of place. Would compare it to an American office worker wearing a tricorne in Hong Kong so he can bring up the War of Independence with his coworkers.
-
This is not the issue. The issue is they did not understand that you, a Unathi, differed from a human. They were confused by this and did not treat you based on this ignorance. I don't take any of your offenses thus far as intentional, but you must learn. A lot. We all started at some point and you're still in that starting phase. -1 until the player has been on the server active for more than four months.

The Wiki's Contraband is poor in describing what is contraband when it comes to clothing. It jokes about ugly ties then says you shouldn't have a holster- but at the same time anyone can order a holster from cargo, and there are no restrictions on armor at all. I think more clear restrictions on Hardsuits, Armor and Department specific items should be added.

[Accepted] Tomiix's Department Head Application
AmoryBlaine replied to Tomiix's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Really great player, enjoyable interactions. I think they can handle the responsibilities of being a Head in a gameplay sense and an RP sense. +1 -
Very nice idea. I like it.

[Accepted] DriverMonkey's IPC Application
AmoryBlaine replied to DriverMonkey's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Very much so have enjoyed my interactions with Proxima, but few interactions with Athena. This backstory however is very nice and I hope a work around is made. Really hope to see her as a Synthetic. +1 -
This player is undeserving of a whitelist for now. They're incompetent, lack any level of discipline when interacting with Security and Command. Until some major improvement is made I don't think you should even be considered for the whitelist. The Industrial Frame IPC plus your current attitude would be a large source of ahelps, I believe. -1

Is Keegan Judge the one who wears the purple suitjacket and is usually out of uniform?
-
With the addition of rarely ordered Firearms for Security, I can't see the harm in also adding more utility equipment, specifically; Flares, Balaclavas and TacticalHUDs. Flares play a big role in operating in the dark during power outages and maintenance Sweeps. Balaclavas are nice for flattening your hair from sticking through your helmet like a dumbass. TacticalHUDs are also pretty nice for looks. I just think it'd be nice for these options to be available in the Security cargo menu.

A trio of Medical Arses - Player(s) Report
AmoryBlaine replied to ajstorey456's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I have interacted with the Michels individual the most of the three and I believe he was already banned. The others are still very poor and were fighting each other as Cadets both of whom I locked in Solitary because of how big an issue it was. I believe they were banned as well. -

[Accepted]Worthy's Tajara Application
AmoryBlaine replied to Worthy's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
One of my favourite players and RP'ers. I'd love to see what they can do with a Tajara. You have my support. -
I like Sukhoi, and they're a solid RnD character. I think adding this would be good for them.

Overview of the Incident: For a number of shifts, Amos Miller has acted in a manner considered by the regulations to be hooliganism. Each time I have approached him, he has without fail turned to run and forced me to pursue him through out the Station. In this instance, of many, he was wearing his uniform rolled down to his hips and ran when I told him to change it to proper uniform. This attitude is common with him and he is quite vulgar towards me for no real reason. I'd like this addressed as it is becoming an on-going issue. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Alexander Viatorem, Captain Actions taken: N/A
