  1. 100% a good idea. I spend a lot of time dealing with SSD players, and I usually have to ahelp for instructions. But if this were added, I could skip the middle man and know how long they'd been sleeping for and cryo the accordingly.
  2. This is just beautiful and you took into consideration adding modified versions for the loadout and coding it all yourself. I really like Jenni and hope that she gets her outfits. Your work on the sprites is 10/10 too.
  3. I actually agree with you there. But, you fail to see that while those roles have mechanical purpose in game- the Security positions, atleast- the two roles I specified are entirely based in RP. They exist for RP and have no other point. If I IR'd every Chaplain who did nothing but walk around with a trophy rack and hood while making no attempt to RP and ahelp'd every single Shrink who sits in their Office quietly I'd probably break my keyboard. I've always been of the opinion that more is less. Cut the fat from the roles, let those who truly want to RP as those occupations take them up instead. But on the point of Security, yes- entirely I think we should have either OOC or IC barriers on Officers. They can make or break the round, really. And that's something that should be taken into account with them not requiring anything but a short timer on the role befor eit opens.
  4. I am of the opinion that we have a lot of shitty Shrinks and Chaplains. These roles are usually populated by LowRP players who make no effort to act out the role in any constructive manner to further RP. As such, I think a whitelist for both roles should be in order. While the draw back is that there would be less Shrinks and Chaplains, it would ensure that the ones we do receive are of a higher quality. You could even set up appointments with specific Psychologists with there being less chance of the role taken up by an SSD or incompetent. We may actually even get proper Chaplains and Spiritual counselors rather than tribalistic shaman and overzealous Irish "priests" who drink until they are infirm. I don't think it'd be much of a hassle, and there isn't much of a drawback aside from the previously mentioned dwindling of characters in the roles. But, like I said. Quality of quantity.
  5. Reporting Personnel: Daniel Carmichael Rank of Reporting Personnel: Security Officer Game ID: bRJ-dBUH Personnel Involved: - Drake Bond, Head of Security: Witness - Thomas Stamper, Security Officer: Offender - Camryn Hujsak, Warden: Witness Time of Incident: (If unable to provide, leave blank) Real time: 18:30EST 02/12/2017 Location of Incident: Security Wing, Equipment Room. Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [X]Neglect of Duty [X]Harassment []Assault [X]Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: During the beginning of the shift I had mentioned briefly to the other Officers how to label their lockers in the usual format (Example: J. Doe). Soon after, I was told by Thomas Stamper that I had left my locker unlocked- which is against proper procedures. I told him that I had locked it- which I did-, and he said that I had better check, because it was unlocked. When I did check, he had labeled my locker, 'Carmichael loves cock.' I brought this up to Head of Security Bond, who had him suspended, but the fact that he felt that he could do this in the first place calls into question his abilities as a Security Officer. If he so readily insults his co-workers to the point of defacing their lockers for fun then I worry about how he interacts with other employees. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Drake Bond, Head of Security. Actions taken: Suspension of offender.
  6. I like this, it's a good idea.
  7. Thanks for the feedback, I see where you're coming from here, the corporate uniform is pretty awful. I stopped using the corporate uniform after the President Dorn event, haven't worn it since. Now onto the less important thing, I can see your point about three months being too early, I personally believe I'd make a good HoS even this early, but that's why you're the one giving feedback! Yeah, you'r ea good Officer, so my only real concern is general experience.
  8. Seconded. People don't want to be forced into shit without RP. It's bad enough that most of the time they crystal you anyways so if you don't want to do Cult, you have to ahelp it.
  9. This is too early in my opinion. Three months isn't much. I've been here half a year and I still consider myself too early to apply for Head. While you may be a good Officer, you still wear the Corporate uniform and for that I've got to go neutral. But honestly- I think it's too early. You need more experience under your belt.
  10. >Perp leaves crime scene >Ask witness who it was >they can name him and tell me his occupation but they don't remember what color his hair was, what clothes he was wear, ect I think this would help a lot with both antags and Security fun. I hate how uninvolved some people are when providing witness reports. They rely entirely on the ID. This would force better descriptions.
  11. Crawling would be good. I agree with the non-movement holding items thing too.
  12. Give the traitor knowledge of the Heisters. Give the Heisters the name of the Traitor. No AOOC shit. Give the traitor a heister earpiece chip. All good. Set and done.
  13. The maglight deals as much damage as a harmbaton. I'm not saying Cadets should have them to beat everyone they see doing something wrong, but what if a Cadet is cornered by a Space Bear, or a spider, or a carp that got in the station somehow? And like I said earlier, a single guy with any form of gasmask or voidsuit, along with easily obtainable sunglasses, would basically make the cadet's tools of a flash and pepperspray useless. And while most of these situations could be solved with CQC skill, Cadets usually aren't experienced enough to outskill any of those things. Cadets are assigned to Officers for a reason. They aren't suppose to be thwacking people in the head; that's the job of Officers.
  14. I think the original intent of the suggestion is lost now. At this point I am wanting to suggest more fluid administration of the uniform infraction policing by allowing Officers to apply the charge without the need of a superior's blessing. I don't see why this specific should be treated any differently than other minor infractions. It seems a bit odd that I would have to go through my superiors to handle my coworker's failure to adhear the regulations. But anyways. I retract this suggestion, concerning loadout restrictions or whatever unless there are objectors. But I stand by a rework of the current system in place foe handling uniform violations.
  15. The usual reply to that is, "Shut the fuck up. You're not the Commander." Followed by non-complaince with my Officer for the rest of the shift because they feel as though asking them that, challenges their manhood. I may then choose to inform the HoS, which I do regularily. This rarely works as they are busy- Not to mention there are HoS like Kaed who do not abide by it anyways and shrug it off. I just want more uniformity, and an easier way to police it. If it was a written IN-GAME that they can't wear whatever, and I wasn't required to ask the HoS and then the Captain to tell the offender to not offend it on penalty of neglect of duty, I wouldn't have made this suggestion. As it is, the current way it's set up relies on one or two individuals who may or may not be present and may give a conflicting order. I'm also just glad that this brought it all into the light again.
  16. Update to description texts. They should cover the brand and look.
  17. There was a round that took place a few days ago where they were Librarian. I assume they were bored as they chose to smash some medicalbots, then co-opt the Kitchen by jumping the counter and stealing a chef's uniform. This was handled ICly by the Dionae chef and Security, but I ahelp'd about the issue anyways and I believe Garn handle it. Concerning his incompetence he has previously as Chemist force fed me a vomit inducing pill while I was already light headed and starved from being drained by a Vamp. He had based the need to fed me the pill because I had vomited, by my own accord, due to the disorientation. He interpreted this as being either on drugs or poisoned even though he had not scanned me, and another doctor, with a scanner, was already assissting me. He also played a Faux-Imam who when I questioned about committing haram acts implied that he was a religious zealot covering this fact by being awful at his job. Mind you this is all as the same character. There is little thought put into the RP they do, and they jump from job to job- equally incompetent across the board.
  18. This removes that middle man for the most part. Hence, I made the suggestion. I'm well aware of my ability to cry to the HoS or Captain. This just works to remove that necessity. By this logic, banning anybody for breaking corporate law would be "Removing the middle man." Dealing with minor breaches like that are all the HoS and Captain have to do on extended rounds anyways. You choose to apply it broader than I have suggested it. This thread is concerned specifically with uniform violations, as you may have noticed by the title. As for these "minor breaches" being "all the HoS and Captain have to do on extended rounds" I cannot confirm nor deny this as I play neither. Maybe someone who mains Head could weigh in on that.
  19. You started with, "Eh. I don't really give a shit myself." So, no. I don't really think what you are saying matters. I much prefer the alternate suggestions from people with some interest in the topic.
  20. This is exactly what makes it an IC problem in my eyes. Couldn't have stated it better. And I do mean a severe IC problem. As in add it to CCIA Notices, IC problem, not just leave it as-is. Make it something actually tangibly punishable. But I think adding a restriction mechanic here is not the way to go. It's possible to wear whatever you like to work, and then change at the locker. That's perfectly viable. This works too.
  21. It's a professional corporate environement on an HRP server. It makes no sense to lop it on "deal with it ICly" when ICly you have no reason to come to work in a tactical turtleneck or suit and expect to be able to keep it when you have a specific uniform to wear- In this case we have three uniforms, two of which are widely used. Full Black and Standard.
  22. I can support that too.
  23. This removes that middle man for the most part. Hence, I made the suggestion. I'm well aware of my ability to cry to the HoS or Captain. This just works to remove that necessity.
  24. Due to what I consider a heinous infraction on the part of a number of Officers and Cadets- I'd like to see the Security role deny the player any loadout uniforms that aren't of the security variant. This would remove Tacticool Officers, and Suit Officers- both of which I view as lowering the image of Security being a straight laced professional corporate security team. Allowing Officers to dress as they please does two things. First it makes them harder for personnel to identify when things are going at a rapid pace, secondly it breaks the sense of unity that should exist within Security. It's a team, and it relies on that sense of teamwork and communication for things to go well. You may notice the most "Cowboy" or "Shit" Officers are the ones who break the standard uniform code. I'd really prefer we cut out the possibility of them thinking they can dress in a manner that sets them apart from everyone else and by extension ACT like they're apart from the rest of Security. Not sure how this would be accomplished but I assume similarly to how other roles prohibit the spawning of Security specific equipment while not in a Security role.
  25. Did this get implemented?
