    Signatures

Ah, this means I can write my signatures in crayon.
  2. Well the backstory is the pAI was designed for 'weebs' so it'd have the personality traits of a Cartoon character within that genre. But that's merely the concept, so aside from it's speech habits it'd still be more than a one trick pony as I always aim to add several layers to my characters, characters who of which people seem to enjoy. In hindsight if I had worded it as 'cute humanoid robot form' opposed to something anime inspired, I feel it'd be going down differently. But the style Nursie proposed seems to be the way to go, seeing as for some reason a couple of people find something sexual or fetishist about this: Not sure why, I get a more mainstream commercial vibe from it.
  3. That's true, I managed to break out the other night by uplinking a tool box and hacking my way through the infirmary.
  4. PM me if you want to join, so I can keep tabs on who's joining with what character. A weather beaten behemoth loomed across the inky backdrop of space, silhouetted by the system's star that reigned of the sector. Small shuttles shot from the station, filled with grizzled workers hoping to make their fortunes upon the local asteroids, of which are now filled with man-made cavities. The structures large rings rotated independently of each other, generating the little gravity the station can provide for it's inhabitants. Within this worse for wear vessel was filled with life despite the less than desirable conditions. Vagrants littered the edges of the main halls, most of which spent their funds, equipment and tickets home on bad hands and unfortunate dice rolls. Some of the warehouses have been re-purposed, their large blast doors adorned with neon shaped in the form of women and the establishments name sake, while oil stained workers exchange their days wages for cheap alcohol and the working women that find themselves contracted to the establishments. Within the central column of the station, a large bazaar could be found where merchants sold various goods, weapons and displaced people, ranging from heavily chained up Unathi to humans that look worse for wear. The Sol Alliance's power reaches just short of this behemoth, that is stained with the greed of people and gripped by those who exploit this greed. A place for the free, if they played their cards right.
  5. This might work?

    A headwrap.

This would be a nice touch, we don't have enough decent looking headwear.
  7. Perma-briggers don't get cells, they kind of just sit in the one big room with little else to do. I've yet to see the big 'social interaction' with the communal brig seeing as at most, as it's been already said, you have maybe two prisoners who are awake. While most people don't care much to visit those who are in permabrig due to being occupied by their jobs and such. Sure, short term, the communal brig is passable but long term stays are somewhat boring for those who wish to remain in the game without going SSD. My first idea was to have a 'perma-lock' option for the cell timers, so we wouldn't need to shuffle the layout for the perma-wing bunks but this didn't make much sense, if you were to keep in mind that the cells might get taken up by perma's leaving short term briggers without a cell to be put in. Plus, they're not planning to give CSI their autopsy room back any time soon, so it's a wasted room with cobwebs and a machine frame so I'd rather it be used for something that might serve a purpose.
  8. 21 year old white British male named Jake. I like long walks through the woods and drinks by the river.
  9. So, experiencing the communal brig first hand, I've found a lot of setbacks with the design. The fact it lacks most of the facilities the old perma-brig had, makes it pretty boring for the player as they don't anything to do or interact with save for the donk pockets. So adding machines might be a nice addition to players who still wish to roleplay while in the brig. The second thing would be moving the infirmary to where the shell of CSI's coroner lab used to be. Utilizing the wasted space that currently serves as an 'I was here tag' for the late lab. That way, we can alter where the infirmary currently is into a room contain basic beds and toilets for permanent prisoners. It would be a nice addition to have opposed to sitting the big room for most of the round.
  10. That would be an idea. If all pAI's had a small humanoid form aswell the animal ones they already have
  11. Admittedly the character is a parody of the medium but despite it being a parody I assure you it's not a two dimensional joke. Though I would take your critique, the fact you've not engaged the character and are making assumptions based upon the lightheartedness I so mistakenly decided to inject into the application, I wouldn't say they were nothing more than you disliking the very notion based on what little you know. Perhaps I should be penalized for creating a pAI that was made to have a personality that is apparently offensive. But I do not see how me having a custom form for a pAI would cause any hindrance, harm or derailment to your roleplay outside the fact you dislike the concept. To me having a custom chassis for my pAI is no different to the custom cyborg skins other people have been requesting and no more hindering than a custom terminator damage overlay that other's have. Now I'm probably mistaken, but isn't the idea of requesting a custom item because you want it the whole point of the custom items thread? The thread wasn't made for items that are a necessity to the community, which is what the suggestions board is for, but for that of adding a little extra to one's character. Now if you could give me reasons as to why having a custom pAI chassis would cause issues to your beloved roleplay or a critique outside 'I don't like.' Or perhaps asking informed questions opposed to assumptions of who I am or what the character represents.
  12. Outer Colony Slave Culture There have been disturbing rumors of people traffickers forming a lucrative market in the cluster of colonies just out of reach from the powers of the Sol Government. There have been reports of people going missing and ships not returning from this region of space. Despite these raising concerns the newly elected Government has failed to make a comment on the situation at this time, but with President Chater's stance on Interstellar relations, most have faith that the disturbing turn of events will soon be rectified by the Sol Alliance.
  13. But a robotic anime girl...? Must as well bring the pony chassis from yog. Personally, I don't think servicing people's fetishes or whatever is something we should do. You may make your usual assumptions. It's mainly a pAI that acts as a 'best friend' for it's owner. That would be perfect actually.
  14. I've been given some minor praise for my pAI Edit: It's not about necessity of the community, it's about the applicants request to give their character a little more... spice to their appearance. I don't see this as anything different to the RedAI and custom borg skins.
  15. The only feasible option I would see personally, is that if you had the ability to lock them at each point opposed to having the continually moving throughout the loop. With them locked to one of the entry points, it should be easy enough to call them, not sure if it's easy coding wise though.
  16. BYOND Key:Jakers457 Character name:Hipatchi Item name:A custom model for her (she's a pAI) Why is your character carrying said item to work? For ultimate social stimulation! Item function(s):It's basically what her form is when she's folded out from card form. Item description:It wouldn't really have a description, seeing as how pAI forms aren't presented with that option. Item appearance:I'd like for her to be a tiny animu character, as animu as humanly possible for highest social stimulation. Additional comments: I don't really have a sprite for it, but if someone is willing to make a tiny robotic animu girl so the Senpai's will have atleast one best friend, it'd be much appreciated.
  17. The outrage is Tumblr level.
  18. Or in otherwords, get salty with my fellow Aurorans on the forums.
  19. I thought meowy's expertise was dying? I'd say get a base concept that'd you like to explore. Be it a down to earth botanist or perhaps an extravagant HoP. But that's just the seed to grow from.
  20. The School of Jaker's way of Antaging. Fuckery class for short. So this is more of a way to how I personally play my antagonists, some advice from me to anyone who wishes such information. I'll be covering things as the days go by, I kind of.. wing it when it comes to these things. Hostages Might be throwing you in the deep end on your first day kiddo, but the weak die quick in the life of espionage and homicide. So a lot of the time, I've noticed a fair few people who are... not really that great at taking hostages or know when to take hostages, which is fair enough because keeping those awful crew members alive is a challenge in of itself. So let's cover some basics when it comes to hostages, I'll briefly cover when you should take hostages. Prime location Chauncey! This is a big issue when it comes to hostage situations, a lot of the locations people go for are awful and with that in mind, you're kind of asking to get swat-crashed by the fuzz. So I cannot stress you enough, if you are to take a hostage then move them to an easily dependable position with a potential escape route. So this excludes open areas like the bar and easily cornered places like the kitchen, seeing as one has little in the way of cover while the other has little in the ways of getting away. Personally I'd recommend taking the hostage off station because that is where you're going to have the most control over the hostage. You cut their escape routes and you remove the advantage Security has with their synthetic assets and cameras. The most ideal place to hold hostage negotiations is aboard your shuttle, if you are fortunate to have one. By remaining mobile aboard your shuttle, your enemies have no control over the situation and they have but two options at that point, let the hostage die or give into your demands. The appropriate time Though location is a good thing to keep in mind, it's worth to keep in mind that hostage taking is a dead man's tactic. The only reason you've taken a hostage is either because A) You've been cornered and have ran out of options or B) You're being chased and are outgunned. So really, if taking hostages is all you got planned... then well I'm afraid your career as an edgy antag is on thin ice. Hostages should ideally be taken if they witness you committing a crime or being somewhere you shouldn't be. You may keep them alive and stash them somewhere so you can carry on with what you were doing. Though it may take awhile for them to be found, allowing you to finish your job and get out of the room, there is always the potential that they will spill the beans on your antics. So it is advised to not leave any loose ends if you want a clean get away, now this might some cruel and barbaric but a dead man tells no tales, so in this line of work a dead man is your best friend. Mobility! If you want to hang onto the whining liability, then you want to keep moving. You don't want Security getting into position to take you out and safely retrieve the hostage, as I said before, holding up is a dead man's game so don't do it. If Security is on your ass, keep the hostage restrained and pull him so he can't break free, also remember to keep the hostage between you and the bullets, that way it's Security killing the hostages and trust me, that will play to your favor. Training your trusty hostages Now it isn't a secret that those hostages aren't very obedient. Those ungrateful curs will basically throw your kindness back in your face after you decided to keep them alive. But don't you worry, with the right discipline, those hostages will behave themselves I assure you. Like any unruly animal, you must establish who is boss or pack leader. The best way I have found is breaking the hostages limb if they speak out of turn or try to act like a big man, this usually shuts them up if they're smart. In the case of having multiple hostages, you may allow them to watch you punish the problem child to set a mood. It's even known that killing one of the hostages in the most painful fashion will work wonders in establishing who the 'alpha' is. Once you have set the hierarchy, you want to get onto conditioning the hostages. This can be done by giving the behaved ones treats or medical treatment. Showing them that if they cooperate, it will work to their favor and they won't end up like Reggy McEdgy who's face is all over the floor. But it is good to note that you shouldn't allow them to get too comfortable with you, Stockholm syndrome is handy but you want to remain a threat to their lives so they don't attempt to screw you over. So you've trained those Hostages into being obedient little martyrs, excellent. With this you may hand them the radio time to time, so that they may plead for their lives and offer your terms of their release. But don't forget that you must always punish them if they even get an inch out of line.
  21. I personally don't think roleplay quality matters on monologues or any Hollywood elements. If an antag wants to take hostages? Then they better have an actual plan on utilizing the hostage opposed to standing out in the open so everyone can hear the villainous monologue. To me, a believable antag is better than a melodrama villain. I want to believe the antag actually intends to fulfill their goals or to actually survive no matter what. I find it very lackluster when someone wants to have some time in the spotlight and expected to be allowed to their time to shine despite how awful their plan was. I don't really mind too much if Security gets the better hand because to me the thrill and excitement is when nothing is guaranteed, especially people hearing you out after you shanked a man in the face. You get shot up by the Operatives because you got too ballsy? Suck it up, you made a shitty call. You got flashbanged because you decided to make your stand in the hallway with no cover? Suck it up, you had a lapse of commonsense. But that's my stance on it.
  22. Kidnapping at Women's Shelter Last night an incident occurred at a Women's Shelter near John Avenue. It has been reported several women from the shelter were taken at gunpoint while severely wounding several of the staff members during the raid. It is currently unknown as to why these women were kidnapped but this has caused concerns for rising gang activity taking control of the outer parts of the city. The Mendell Police Department have insisted on reporting any suspicious individuals that may be loitering near public services or homes immediately and for citizens to avoid walking to their destinations during the later hours of the day.
  23. This will get me a lot of flak saying this. But I do feel a lot of people expect Security to well... die to put it bluntly, even if they don't actually admit it. I mean ICly, an Officer wouldn't take a chance with a dangerous culprit and would use the appropriate force to ensure their own safety while subduing the suspect, to me it makes sense for an Officer to actually take his own mortality into account.... but apparently that's shitty roleplay. To say the least, combat and all it's accessories are a delicate practice for this community.
  24. Well I have a 'couple' piece if you're interested in a challenge
