VAO/ROCKY's custom borg sprites application
ajstorey456 replied to kyres1's topic in Completed Items
Kyres is a phenomenal roleplayer and these sprites look very nice. For the interaction they'd add with their unique robot personalities, I'd very much like to see these models ingame when VAO is hunting down evildoers in the name of justice. That and I've been looking at the same borg models since forever, some toss up wouldn't be awful. +1 and good luck. -
[Denied] Moderator Application - Ajstorey456

I've got no real defense for those, though at least six of those entries were when I was trying to learn how to play. For a lot of those, I was simply ignorant to what I was doing wrong, and I wasn't even aware that I had as many as nineteen. As far as I'm aware, I think some of them are repeats of themselves too. All I can say is that each and every one was a learning experience and I'm past it, mistakes that I won't make again and I don't believe I have made since I was made aware of them. Not including the time I was away, obviously, I think ever since my surge of notes that was me getting in trouble a lot slowed down/stopped because I got the hang of things. -

I am, I'm expecting to be on the server more starting when I'm making this response. Not nearly as much as I used to be however, I don't believe. I've been wrapped up in many other things. I'll still be able to stay for 1-2 rounds each night, and more on the weekends if that's alright for a moderator? -
+1, will steal as traitor someday also, of course the strings are replaced. if you own a guitar, you replace the strings every month or two, they get nasty pretty quick

If I saw this sooner, I would have commented sooner. CRASA is a more consistent character in the group of people I typically play rounds with, especially when I'm playing Quartz. CRASA is lovely to be around, roleplay with, and to have in medical in general. There's tons of robo-banter to be had, and none of it at all feels like stale, awkwardly forced RP. From a meta standpoint, they are a fucking good surgeon. In a round where a hundred things went wrong in an instant, they managed to stop four ruptured lungs back to back to back, then two more heavily injured patients from dying without breaking a sweat. I don't think out of the 20+ patients we had that hectic round, any of them died, and it was just me, CRASA, and paramedic Echo towards the end of the round. All in all 9.9/10 player and character, would save literally everyone with again.

It'd help to know who you play ;o

A trio of Medical Arses - Player(s) Report

I remember the last name Dettler, there were two of them, and Michels was spelled that way because I thought it was silly. I have an awful memory when it comes to these things. -
[2 dismissals; Bin 21.12.2017]Voice Chat based round
ajstorey456 replied to TheSmiley's topic in Archive
The issue that everyone's NOOO!ing about is that they like to play characters they could not possibly voice, for example, their blue haired waifu engineer can NOT sound like them, because theyre 32 years old and sing baritone. It also is incredibly uncomfortable to RP with voice, it would be hard to orchestrate, and overall, a poor experience. Might I suggest joining a D&D group if you love roleplaying and want to genuinely impersonate your character with a fully fledged voice and all? -

The CC announcement costs 12, actually. I know, or else I'd use it much more often. -
[Denied]Arkter's Head of Staff Application
ajstorey456 replied to Arkter's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I've played a few rounds with Gael and Jalos, and I think you could use some time to develop before you assume a head whitelist. I have nothing against you personally, it is just very clear that you do not have as much knowledge on the game and on roleplay in general as you should before making such a step. That being said, I like Gael, and I don't think it would be a bad idea if you were to revisit this later, after you have some more time under your belt to learn some more. A -1 from me, with hope that you reapply after you've put more time into the game. -
Reporting Personnel: Quartz Rank of Reporting Personnel: Medical Doctor Game ID: ID: bRU-aJKY Personnel Involved: (Name, Rank: Offender/Witness/Other (Ckey)) - Breanne Pearsall, Offender - Morrigan Jenkins, Witness - Quartz, Witness - Natascha Sukhoi, Witness - Perceval Stempkin, Witness Time of Incident: N/A Real time: 11:30 PM-1:00 AM, EST 12/13/2017 Location of Incident: Medical Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [x]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault [x]Misconduct []Other _____ Overview of the Incident: In this shift, I was working alongside Breanne Pearsall, a surgeon. There were several instances where we were required to clone patients unfortunately, and Pearsall, though a surgeon, decided it would be best to help. Despite her clear lack of understanding for the cloning process, she neglected her basic duties as a Doctor and would not inform the patient that they have been cloned, instead lying to them about the circumstances that lead up to their treatment. They did this with Mr Stempkin first, where I had informed them of the consequences if they would continue to do so. I had to personally inform Stempkin myself. They then, despite several warnings, lied to Mr. Sukhoi when he was cloned, and then lied to me about informing Sukhoi that he was cloned. After these events, we received two patients, one with internal bleeding and a broken bone followed by a patient with fluid in their lungs. Dr. Pearsall was working on the former when the latter had come in, and she instructed me to discharge the former. The former was Morrigan Jenkins, and as Pearsall had left her on the operating table, she was missing over 50% of her total blood and her arm was still fractured. It took me rigorous work in a field I was not familiar with to be able to save them from the brink of death. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: I was unable to at the time and decided it best for it to be dealt with at central. Actions taken: N/A

I also do not see an issue with old code. Aside, there ought to be slurring of some sort in speech. If you made the drunk speech a little less violently incoherent, I bet it'd work.

But what if the cap/hop is bad mans? Leave it for antaggery

[Resolved] DasFox revhead complaint
ajstorey456 replied to sdtwbaj's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
As a traitor this round, I was able to see AOOC, and the announcement did come out of nowhere. Everyone seemed to want a round that was more than "fuck xenos, lol" and were collaborating to coin up a fancy new gimmick, when the announcement came seemingly out of nowhere, ordering the termination of all non humans. It wasnt really fair to anyone else and it turned the round into something that wasn't really fun for everyone. -
Does this mean zombifying laser guns, like putting an AEG recharger on a laser cannon, or does this mean printing AEG body, lens, focusing crystal and slapping it all together like a neat little puzzle?

As a medical player, this is something that would be nice to have. Giving someone ipecac and standing near them with space cleaner is annoying.

BYOND Key: ajstorey456 Game ID: bRQ-aWGG Player Byond Key: Uknown, IC names are Trevor Dettler, Jordan Dettler, and Brian Michels Staff involved: TheDocOct Reason for complaint: The three characters, Trevor Dettler, Jordan Dettler, and Brian Michels were all medical staff during this shift. It was a round of Heist, where I was playing Cherish, and we had made allies with the Vox of the group while the other members did other crazy shit, like rob the entire vault successfully almost without us noticing. The Vox ended up in the medical lobby, as one of it's favorite friends was Echo, paramedic, who had duties in medical and needed to stay where they could. The three doctors mentioned were bumbling about, pressing buttons they didn't know the function of and such, being probably new. T Dettler I believe was bald, Michels was toothpaste-cyan afro'd, and I don't recall exactly what J Dettler looked like. They all had the characteristics of noobies or greytide, though. It was harmless at first, until one of them began to hug everyone. The Vox did not like being touched, and so asked him, do not touch me. The guy then hugged him again, and the Vox asked to press charges for battery. Chief Halstere said Go for it, and they were fined 75 credits for battery. I think it was at this point that the three doctors decided they did not like the me, the Vox, or anyone associated with the Vox. They ICly began to insult the Vox, causing needless issues and provoking it greatly. This was pretty good IC tension, even if the esteemed doctors were acting massively unprofessional, calling the Vox disgustingly obese and this and that and blah blah. The other medical crew, Echo and Will Green, sided with the Vox, because they liked the Vox. The rest of the round, these doctors caused problems ICly, though nonviolently. They continued to harass, and harass, and harass, even up to the very end. I believe at one point, the Dettlers were arrested for god knows what. I don't have all the details and misdoings of the trio, unfortunately, and would hope that the players effected by it would comment their experiences with them on this round. The one, Trevor Dettler, is fresh off of a ban as of less than 5 hours ago as I'm typing this. While the majority of this can be chalked as IC issue with behavior, I personally think that it's clear that these people weren't on the station to have fun and interact in a positive manner, rather cause issues however they could, and they did. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Yes, but I did it at the end of the round where it couldn't be helped at that point. Approximate Date/Time: 2-5AM EST, 12/9/17

Walking down halls spamclicking is super metagamey anyhow, isn't it? And I thought hidden walls were pressure sealed, every time I'm on a merc team that's our method of entering, two hidden walls.

Is there no room just to have a "leave blank for default" for everyone who does want to keep the old castings? This doesn't have to be mandatory, does it?

+1 I've had nothing but good experiences with McKinney. They're very nice OOCly and I believe they are a valuable member of the community. Their characters are also a pleasure to see and interact with, being some of the only characters I know that actually go out of their way to interact. McKinney would make a fine head whitelister, and having them represent a basis of roleplay wouldn't be so bad at all.

I forget who it was, but I ahelped when a team of 4 engineers weren't setting up the engine and I was told it was a purely IC issue. (later they ended up getting the engine done, but that's besides the point) And Zundy, I don't typically have the opportunity. When I see these issues, I'm busy with my own work as either a MD or a sec officer, and don't have the time to complain to the captain or s/t. I do believe I have PDA'd the Captain a few times about someone not doing shit before though, and it usually gets nowhere.
-
Yes, that. Many minor things are being said in suggestion that I thought were givens.

Neglect of Duty is an IC issue, but the player, having no reason to make his character neglect his very important duties, is an ooc issue. It's also an OOC issue in that it's not believable that they would be employed on a very important station with a very important job if they are unlikely to perform their duties. IA can fix this, but it shouldn't be a problem that is to be had at all. I do think it should be an OOC issue, where someone may receive warnings for not doing their job in a limited/important job slot.
