  1. For what it's worth this matches my own understanding of the skill system (meaningless as it is), amateur means you've been exposed to that sort of thing and you might have a vague idea of how something works or a clear idea of how a certain part of it works, while trained means that you have been trained in this subject so you know how it goes. Basically I think there's a pretty big-ass gap between the two instead of something like: Which isn't as much of a gap.
  2. Last I checked (fairly recently), it doesn't, actually. A ghost that's on the rune the summoner is standing on will get turned into a manifest, dead cultist or not. Might be a quirk about making ghosts visible making them eligible for being summoned but either way, still not a dead cultist.
  3. Beepsky also has awful pathfinding and needs to be moved by his human servants on occasion
  4. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/1635
  5. I support #1, being able to do surgery on a screaming patient with no medicine so long as they stay on the table is stupid. I don't really back #2 as I don't think it's something that needs to be completely removed.
  6. To be completely honest, Garbage's characters are completely boring and unmemorable to me, although they do not stand out to me for being bad, so, there is that, and I don't recall Garbage playing in-game in a bad way. Likewise, Tazuka seems rather boring, although the writing doesn't seem contradictory to lore or anything. TL;DR I don't see any reasons why Garbage shouldn't have the whitelist, a luke-warm +1.
  7. I do think people need to stop rupturing their lungs by having an empty O2 tank, that's just silly.
  8. BYOND Key:Fire and Glory Character name:Zhilin Vadim Item name:Siik'maas-Tau Ceti Basic dictionary Why is your character carrying said item to work? While Zhilin is not strictly illiterate when it comes to Tau-Ceti Basic's written form, his knowledge is riddled with holes to the point that except for things directly affiliated with his job as miner, such as shuttle consoles, crew manifests and his PDA functions in general, etc, he needs an aid, so he bought a book because he has no clue if he's introduced to anything new. Item function(s):It doesn't work as a traditional spaceman book, if you use it in your hand then to the user it displays the message "you start looking through the dictionary, it appears to be filled with translations of Tau-Ceti basic for Tajaran users, it does not seem particularly benevolent to humans who might want to use it to read Siik'maas." Anyone who can see the user gets a message saying "[user] starts flipping through the Siik'maas-Tau Ceti Basic dictionary." The book also needs to be of "normal" size, or merely too big to fit in the pocket. Item description:A hefty dictionary with a simple design on the cover, it seems to be for translations, there's a label on the back denoting that it belongs to a Zhilin Vadim. Item appearance:Something like this, if the sprite could be angled like the image except on its side, that'd be appreciated. How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? Zhilin generally can't wear his hardsuit and carry the book at the same time while he's out and about, so he'd be inclined to leave it lying around while mining, where others can potentially peruse it, while station-side he'll also be carrying it around and generally going through it if anyone attempts to give him a form, note, or just PDA's him, both of these serve to make his lack of competency around Tau-Ceti basic's written language evident to anyone who's in the vicinity at the time. Additional comments:I imagine literacy isn't a huge concern for miners if they can understand what's important.
  9. I don't really see why the HoP needs access to Security's channel, I agree with this.
  10. BYOND Key:Fire and Glory Character name:Guskov Andrei Item name:tajaran service uniform Why is your character carrying said item to work?Guskov was bestowed the uniform for his stretch of military service with the NKA, although he was not enthused about his participation in the war nor the idea of wearing the uniform itself, he was coerced into wearing it by his wife, who has a far higher opinion of his veteran-status then he does. Item function(s):It is a suit that goes on the uniform slot (like jumpsuits), nothing more, nothing less. Item description:This is obviously a military service uniform, there are signs that it is of Tajaran make, modified to be a bit less warm, although it doesn't look like any uniform used by the People's Republic of Adhomai. Item appearance: How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP?The effect would be more passive rather than prompting conversation, to other Tajara, it makes him more of a suspicious figure due to the fact that it is not a PRA uniform, for those who aren't invested in Tajaran affairs, it makes his military experience evident. Oh god military snowflake with a uniform, it's almost too much for me. Additional comments:I believe most outside of the NKA would not actually know what an NKA service uniform looks like, so this wouldn't be all that suicidal to wear, just tempting fate a bit. Alberyk gave me the sprites, although where they got the sprites, I dunno. Of course Alberyk already has the thing, but for the sake of completion, the sprites. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9dac38nzqva9gix/coat.dmi?dl=0 (I am not completely sure the link works.)
  11. Fair enough.
  12. You can actually check access by putting the card in a guest ID terminal, but I dunno.
  13. Similar to Lohikar, I find your application is very, very lackluster. Fair enough, the application calls for some elaboration in the form of a paragraph, however. Please, elaborate on this as it is one of the most important questions of the application, compared to humans, how is Tajaran behavior and lore different? And how would this be shown in their interactions on the station? This is very underwhelming, very short, and I have some questions and thoughts that should be answered and incorporated into the backstory. 60-67 is an odd age to be working, even more so in human space, what occupation would Al-Din be in, working on Exodus? Humans and Nanotrasen should just be one point to center your backstory on along with several others, and definitely shouldn't be at the start of the story, Al-Din is orange, yes? This probably makes them a Njarir, and more importantly, such an age puts them firmly before the first revolution for their youth, just how was their life changed after the revolution? How did they survive, where did they end up, etc, I imagine things would be very unpleasant for such a Njarir. Does Al-Din bear grudge against the Hadii and the People's Republic of Adhomai for assisting with the downfall of the nobility? Are they rooting for another faction to win the current war? Summary of suggestions:Elaborate and clarify on Al-Din's past as a Njarir, clarify on just why he's working in human space at so old an age, put down his thoughts on Adhomai's current government and war. Please do. You may want to look at accepted Tajaran applications in the archives for some guidelines on what your backstory looks at, currently I cannot support this in the state it is in.
  14. So I've noticed that the CMO's office is at the far far back of Medical, I think it'd be better to move it closer to the middle of medical like Exodus does, or at least not literally at the furthest end, as it discourages CMO's from actually sitting in their office because they can't see anything happening in medical there. I think captain's should have a means of extracting Chauncey from his spot without getting a toolbox involved. Of course what I'm looking at isn't the finished product, but I don't think maintenance needs any skeletal remains in it.
  15. I've seen Sanu'dra come onboard the station as a visitor today, they're still around.
  16. When a bartender lets people liver damage themselves, they're vulnerable to being charged with neglect of duty, especially if he does it more then once, good bartenders will use their judgement about when and when not to give drinks. So...are you suggesting we make bartenders to charge for drinks? Turn it into a norm? You're not really offering much here, personally I think EFTPOS and money handling is a pain in the ass so I'd rather we don't force bartenders to charge without doing something with that. (Not to mention sometimes it feels like there's going to be a revolution round without the actual game-mode when I've charged for drinks in the past.) This has happened before, I wouldn't mind something making it a bit more official for security to work with, since technically right now there's nothing in regulations that actually says security can hold someone until not-drunk. You're not wholly clear, is it the drunk person being punished or the Head of Staff? Punishing the Head of Staff for it seems excessive, they can't control their employee's behavior, good Heads of Staff will enact punishments on the drunk themselves (neglect of duty being the key regulation here), as for bad ones, theoretically that's what IAA's are for. This is a community thing? Not necessarily something that changes with a suggestion, in the past if drunks are being an issue I see people report it anyways. Medical does give a shit, more or less, the problem is drunks aren't necessarily cooperative, I wouldn't mind if there was something official giving them power to restrict a drunk's movement.
  17. I do admit the backstory is lacking a certain something, mystery or not, but I guess it is alright and not necessarily lore breaking. Abosh is also competent in lore and roleplay from what I've seen, but I do not have much experience. I do have one or two questions though, for now, how old is Kark'zir?
  18. I do support this, if security feels like they need might need to flashbang and eliminate then they can get them from the armoury along with all the other stuff like riot armor.
  19. That is a quality snek lizard.
  20. This sounds like it's for locking trays that already have bodies in them, not locking empty trays; unless you mean putting bodies in already-occupied trays. That could be bypassed by allowing the trays to be emagged or hacked by an engie. Yes, regular tray's would still be accessible to investigators, roboticists, and the like, the key would only be for locking trays that has the body of one such individual with access. Unless the CMO took his key and locked all the empty trays, but that'd be silly.
  21. The picture you put in the OP doesn't seem to actually be displaying?
  22. Captain's and Heads of Personnel, whom are also inclined to take looks, both have access to Chief Medical Officer access through one way or another. The captain is your boss, if he wants to check he can check; as for the HoP, i rarely ever see them get extra access without a good reason, and even less snooping im the morgue. Captain's and Heads of Personnel can be cloned as well as anyone else, clones are not all that rational about things.
  23. >- You have to modify hardsuits and softsuits to wear them. It's voidsuits and softsuits mate. Cool tip for IPC's, while you do take damage in unpressurized areas, not having any pain and the fact that there's actually a good amount of delay before you start taking damage means you can walk across breaches naked with a crowbar so long as you know where you're going and what you're doing. For extra style and brownie points among them Unathi, keep in mind that not all letters need to be s's for there to be hissing, for example, the letter c can be pronouncssed with hissing sssincsse in some words it sounds similar to s.
