1. You can’t do this. You can’t give someone +1 becUse “We need more IAAs”. IAA is the easiest role to play, and shouldn’t even be involed in a Command whitelist. I honestly feel like people are applying for IAA now, to have their Command whitelist accepted, so that they can play CMO/HoS, whatever. I’m not commenting on the app itself, but please, please direct your feedback towards the applicant applying for a Command role, and not specifically IAA.
2. Spanishman has earned the Interim rank in terms of both CMOs and RDs, and I only had pleasure working alongside them in medical and engineering. They know enough about Research to not have any trouble with supplying their workers with assistance, and teaching them if something was to occur. I strongly disagree with Butterrobber’s comment about being “snowflakey”. I believe that between snowflakey and unique is a thin line, and I fully believe that Spanishman’s characters are on the unique side. The characters have some uncommon, defining qualities, but they are not being shoved in anyone’s face by the player, neither are they extremely blatant, much like Lilly, who struggles to understand human emotion as an IPC, and will sometimes misunderstand sarcasm and the likes. Has my full support. +1
3. Quick disclaimer: I don't hate you or anything, I personally think you're pretty chill at times. For the sake of getting my point through as there are already a lot of points made, I'm going to avoid sugarcoating things, I apologize in advance if it sounds rude at times, as it's not my intention to discourage you from applying or anything. With that out of the way, let's get to my points: I know that mentioning the latest Lillium report will immediately evoke sour faces, but it was more than enough to prove how personal you can take things. This is exxxxxtremely destructive to CCIA work, as you are expected to be pretty much an unperson. What I mean by this is that you cannot have your personality to affect your decisions on IRs or in events that you'd come across en station. You are allowed to have an opinion, you just are prohibited from reflecting it to your work, which is pretty fair. For the sake of reference and transparency, I'll link the report you've personally made below: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=10807 After re-reading your posts on the report, I'm even less confident in believing that you'd be able to come to any objective conclusions, especially to situations revolving around your friends, or perhaps around people that you dislike. I'd like you to reflect on one question regarding this. Imagine that the person you dislike the most has submitted an IR on your closest Aurora friend. Would you be able to respond objectively, even if it meant that your friend was clearly in the wrong? My second point, it's nigh obvious that you've trouble accepting your fault. We're all people, we make mistakes. Maybe out of sheer anger, maybe just by overlooking something. What's important is that you own up to them, and have the ability to say that 'I was wrong.'. It's difficult to do, really, as it is pretty destructive to one's pride, but it's a must if you're going to be a member of staff, where even a small, disguised error can cause the machine of CCIA to start clanking. Hell, I've been banned from the Discord server myself for pinging a particular admin over and over again, but I accepted my mistake, apologized to them, and I'm now avoiding pinging anyone, for I realized that I was overlooking how annoying it must feel to be expecting anything important when you're pinged as a member of the higher-up staff. Would you be able to do the same? And again, since I'm not really going to involve any personal experiences, the proof to that claim can be found right here: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=10397#p92878 For the sake of getting my point across, I'm going to summarize the dialogue that made me believe that HunterRS is not the most capable when it comes to receiving a negative response to their actions, and admitting their when what they believe to be true is proven wrong. HunterRS: Abo denied my Command app because I applied as Edgar, this is wrong and I'd like to be considered akin to a new player, I improved my whitelist app and I believe I should be accepted but Abo blacklisted me Abo: I didn't blacklist you, staff just want to see a new character backstory to see that you're able to present what you've learnt from your past apps in a form different than Edgar so apply as someone else HunterRS: abo that was the past, therefore it's invalid Synth: you can play Edgar as RD after you get accepted, we just wanna see that you can write a head of staff app with what you've learned, instead of the Edgar app which is patched like 10 times to fit feedback HunterRS: i'm going to rewrite my lore for Edgar, i'm just scared that the char i'll apply as will be denied because they're not well-known Abo: then play another char, get known by people HunterRS: i'm already known by people, thanks abo(obvious sarcasm here) And it goes on, and then at the end, you post the following, with the exact same words: HunterRS: Delete this post please. I knew this wasn't going to go anywhere. I just wanted to see what the hell would happen. But as usual what I predicted was correct. You guys all look towards the past as usual and then when Abo told you that reports can't be deleted you've said: HunterRS: Then Archive it, I don't care. I knew this wasn't going to go anywhere. Yeah, this doesn't give me too much confidence in your ability in concluding arguments, neither does it make me believe you're effective in communication, which believes me to my third point: You've a lot to improve on in terms of communication. CCIA has no room for coy, no room for sarcasm, and no room for hate. I had to conduct at least four interviews with people that I'm not a fond of, and I completed them objectively. I didn't try to expose them during the interview, I didn't press them, I didn't use information that I gathered OOCly when I was deciding on their punishment, I didn't try to disprove what they've said, I just listened to their part of the story like everyone else, then I decided on actions that'd be applied to them like I would with anyone else. I seriously ponder if you could do the same. In conclusion, I am less than pleased to object to you joining CCIA. You've a lot to improve, but again, so do I. CCIA is not looking for the perfect people who've no emotions and who handle everything 100% seriously, we are just looking for people who can communicate clearly, and have the skills of differentiating IC from OOC, accepting their errors and leaving their bias out of the door. But again, maybe I'm wrong about you, at least that's what I hope. We will say what the senate will say. Good luck.
4. Give the Commander a way to see what the traitors see in the form of a neural uplink or something and you've me sold.

Brain Slugs

I'm honestly strongly against this idea, at least the way you've fleshed it out. And here is pretty much why: This is a great way for someone to immediately go to medical and have the borer removed via surgery, if that's a thing, that is. Yeah, because everyone likes antagonists that force you to self-RP. In a roundtype which the antagonist can't kill anyone (and probably shouldn't because they're inside the crewmember), sure do you depend a lot on the use of ghosts, eh? An antag which can ventcrawl, hide and insta-stun sounds more overpowered than half of the Xenos in CM, really. Hell, I have a tough time killing mice myself, because they can just evade you with ventcrawling and hiding, but there is a serious reason why no other antags have the mice abilities. Passing out randomly during extended and randomly getting alerts that I'm choking/hungry/burning is pretty much the opposite of fun for me, I don't know about you, though. Call me stupid, but I really can't correlate 'RP' with the explanation that follows. RP doesn't mean not murderboning, even though murderboning is pretty detrimental to RP itself. You've no way of host-borer interaction apart from the borer making them feel hungry/making them feel like they're choking/whatever, and a 'think' button that forces the player to have a one-sided RP with the the parasite. That's not how the brain works. Bad idea. Even the most stealthy antags have a point where they are announced, or they are acknowledged to become a threat to the crew . Take ninja, for example. They're the tools to cause crew interaction and accomplish their objectives at the same time, or maybe malf AI, who has to start off as stealthy but has a moment where it goes 'haha it was me all along harhar nuke'. All in all, there is a reason why borers are not a gamemode in pretty much almost all servers, and are used for events alone. The concept of Plague.inc-ish taking over people and being ling 2.0 is niche, but the mechanics they have, and the mechanics that you've suggested make it impossible to be reliable in both highpop and lowpop as antagonists that may be remotely close to desirable.
6. First of all: ...heh. Jokes aside, I see that you've nailed a handful of rule-of-thumbs in your application, and I am impressed. CCIA indeed are not the fun police, to interfere with rounds and go as far as taking control, neither are they moderators to handle OOC. We are to act on what we receive ICly, even though OOC does sometimes affect our decisions. This is seen especially when ERT is requested via fax 30 minutes into the round and similar situations. And here comes my personal opinion, feel free to take it with a pinch of salt or two. I've personally been their pocket CCIA in many rounds, essentially lingering in the round, responding to their faxes, and I must say that their faxes are pretty rational and in place, kudos for that. I've honestly heard/seen nothing negative to say about you that is significant enough to affect your application, which is impressive. Rarely if not ever have I seen you in public channels, and your application has not received any feedback from any non-CCIA yet by the looks of it. What I'd suggest is to make more of a public appearance, even though you reeeeaaally don't have to, it does certainly help, be it IC or OOC channels, it provides you with being more memorable and as someone that people can approach for their CCIA-related questions and whatnot. Now, I've not talked to you OOCly that much spare looc in-game, but from what I've heard you do strike some people to be rather serious, which is perfectly fine, but I hope that you take into account the following suggestion: One thing that I've seen about CCIA myself is that interviews and having an IR on yourself can be quite stressful for many, and sometimes it is better than not to be somewhat friendly to the person you're speaking to. OOCly, of course. I've a tendency to throw in some intentional mechanical mistakes while I'm bringing an interviewee to the Aurora conference room or to ODIN in the form of, i don't know, forgetting to buckle up and ree'ing in looc, and et cetera, I've seen it ease the nervousness of the interviewee a bit, at least OOCly, to prevent them from locking up and giving short answers in fear of saying something that the mighty big brother would dislike. Thaaaaaaaaat's pretty much it from me. After looking into how you work as a Captain, and how you generally act, I've decided to give you a strong +1, and I do hope to see you in the team, and perhaps it'll be me who takes you as my young-un to show you how the machine of fax-bureaucracy works, though not likely because I'm fairly new. Praise Syn.
7. makes sense, if you put some empty cartridges in the room that'd be amazing
8. why chem dispenser and chemmaster, though
9. This is going to sound biased but I must add: Amory is probably one of the nicest people that I've met on Aurora. Even when they were extremely displeased, they were always calm and helpful, I can confirm that they are the least likely to lash out on people. With that out of the way, I'll sport a more objective stance in the following part. Having been played CM for a while now, I can testify that it is no small feat. I'm unaware of the success of their moderation, but even getting accepted into that position requires serious communication and problem-solving skills. I'd like to draw attention to this being a huge plus. Secondly, they well-respect the rules, and I've never seen them get in trouble for anything, really. Feel free to correct me in this part, for I'm relatively new to the server. They have presented the fact that they understand what it means to become a moderator, and I'm for certain that their motives are actually helping the community out, and not gaining a niche little button under the 'Admin' tab which allows them to check the round's antagonists. I actually can't find anything negative to say about them, so they've my full support. +1
10. I was present in the voice channel as this all happened, and I'd like to return the topic to the particular event that occurred in the voice channel. I remember being in the voice channel, and just messing around. without any issues, before Lillium joined in, after leaving for a bit, and proceeded to speak as if they were drunk. I do not want to exactly repeat what they've said, but they were just slurring their words and it was, i beg your pardon, extremely annoying. At that point, Hunter and Soviet started telling them to actually go to sleep, which they refused, and kept speaking in the same tone. I do not remember whether this was before or after this particular event, but I was speaking about snowflake characters. And while I was counting the stuff that snowflakes have and do (which was not pointed towards Lillium in any shape or form), stuff like having a single mechanical limb, having a dark past with at least one family member dead, Soviet simply said "Oh and a father who got bombed because they're anti-NT, ahahah.". After that, Lillium left the voice channel, and started typing about how they hate Soviet, and how they are tired and have insomnia. Personally, I see little to no problem with this, apart from what they did after being warned. What Soviet did was somewhat mockery, but again, he only really mentioned how Lillium's father did some edgy-stuff, I don't know the details. And I honestly don't think reading someone's records with a condescending voice as you've said, is a punishable offense. I am not defending SovietCyanide here, I'm merely stating my opinion solely on what happened in the voice-chat yesterday, as your report is based solely on that. Which brings me to my next point, one I'd like to address to LiliumArgentium . This is, at least, the second report that's created in your name now, due to someone 'mocking your character'. And based on your ckey being your character's full name, and you being so sensitive about them makes it clear to say that you are attached to your character. Which is totally fine, mind you, if not unhealthy. But this, in no way, shape or form grants you the right to form OOC complaints when your character is mocked either ICly, or OOCly. Now, I do not know the entire backstory of them, but the 'unique' name, you making a merc contract that turned the round entirely into family drama around the Argentiniums, having a father that did some edgy stuff and then disappeared, having a single robotic limb, having "natural coloured" white hair, even though your character is far from an albino, and constantly speaking in radio with tildes, saying things like "Baby Wyaat" and similar behaviour is almost always granted to get people to joke about your character for being 'snowflakey'. It is fine to have unique properties, it is what makes a character interesting an in-depth. But exhausting a character with uniqueness, and then presenting this uniqueness openly to everyone is extremely unhealthy. You practically cannot do that and expect people to not speak about it, even though they do not have the right to. Hell, I'm willing to bet every character who's existed for more than a month has some unique features, like my clinically hypersexual Chief Engineer, Flamingo's PTSD-burdened CE, the Gay-Space-Dr.House with tremors Fernando Gonzales, Faysal-Al-Shawanni who has Sleep Terrors, Kardura Ma who has an extreme case of ADD, Lily Kadel who has a long, stressful past of growing up in a scavenging space-ship who has two mechanical legs, and et cetera. But none of those people shove their characters' traits in the faces of others. I highly suggest that you review how you present your character to the others, and maybe review the character themselves if you feel like giving them a rework. I am not saying that receiving negative feedback from people in less-than-constructive forms is your fault, but if you get offended when someone reads your character's backstory, maybe it has to do something on your part as well.
11. Aren't they holograms?
12. I've been talking with pikl on Discord for about two months now, and for the sake of not being biased, I'm not going to mention anything regarding their personality, or any behavior they've shown on any medium except the station. First off, I do not know what to feel when I'm faced with a long-gone player returning and immediately applying for a higher position. I do not know how you were before you've left, but seeing that you were a moderator and a member of the CCIA, unless I'm wrong, shows promise. But even then, you've said yourself how you've forgotten most things, and I did witness that when I was playing a Chief Engineer, and you an Engineer. You were not bad, but you've lacked the practicality, and sometimes with even the most basic things. Where I'm connecting this is, I would rather have you wait at least a few more weeks and accommodate yourself into the hang of things, and I am yet to trust your capabilities as a member of Command. However, your strongest skill, by far, is communication. You are amazing at co-operation, and most likely better than I am, at this point. During the few rounds we were together, I could fully trust understand you with what you were doing, and so could everyone else. But it all boils down to the part where I'm conflicted about, IAA shouldn't need a whitelist application, because the job by its entirety is unnecessary and its one and only rule is to not be a fun police, while also not being disrespecting to NT and its interests. Would I trust you with IAA, with your existing wonderful communication skills? Absolutely. Would I trust you with any other Command role? Not yet. If only IAA apps were separate from Command whitelist apps would you get my unfaltering support, but sadly, as they are together, I'll have to have a neutral stance. I also urge you to stick to IAA for a while, if you do get your whitelist accepted, and try to (re-)master other Command roles before playing them.
13. Quick Disclaimer, I'm not involved in the report in any way, but I'd like to state something shortly as a member of the CCIA team. I'd appreciate it if my post isn't deleted, I've asked Alb before posting this. Incident Reports do not warrant punishments. They are to be considered much like modern day trials, where information is gathered, both sides are heard, and a verdict is made depending on the situation. Incident Reports are not punishment, and are merely like player reports which are resolved in IC, canon events. A Head of Staff threatening to file an IR on a worker is perfectly acceptable, and wearing a nurse's dress while they've told someone not to, is a valid reason for an IR. If you believe that a Head of Staff is abusing their powers, and that their decisions are irrational, you may ahelp it, or file an IR yourself on them.
14. Let’s not remove the AI indeed. And whitelisting AI will just restrict the rarely played role even more.
15. Hi, the worst CE main here. I highly recommend starting off as an engineering apprentice, so that you can learn the basics before you play a drone. After you’ve the basics set, like building windows, lighs, reinforced windows etc, try playing a drone. The current wikis do help, and I’ll admit I keep the construction guide open for reference as I play, even now. We’ve an engineering Discord, for people who wish to learn about engineering, feel free to PM me on Discord, Eve#1315, for an invite. And don’t be afraid to make mistakes, as they’ll be your greatest tutor on the way.
16. A 3 second timer to retract-enable suit parts sounds like it’d balance it, but I don’t really see a problem with people wearing RIGs all day in their retracted state. I mean, it sounds reasonable for an engineer to keep their RIG on their back and have it activate then they need it to, since they need to respond to emergencies fast.
17. I know I'm also in the engineering clique, but I'll offer you my point of view, as unbiased as I can be. The problem I see with newer CEs, (even though I'm one of them, so who am I to speak?) is that they usually end up as solo-super-engineers. This is kind of why engineering has become the clique it is now, really. I understand that engineering is an impulsive job, and can sometimes force people to Low-RP, since it is moderately difficult to fix and RP at the same time, I've also had trouble keeping up with engineering comms while I was fighting a blob. However , a proper Chief Engineer should fulfill this requirement to a sufficient degree. Command is in its name, people are expected to communicate well. You aren't supposed to be a super-engineer in a RIG with an RCD, you're supposed to be a leader. In your instance, I'm not claiming that you've been ignoring RP and the importance of communication, but I have observed so, a few times. This is why I was rather neutral with eab's Command Whitelist, and why I'm going to be neutral with yours. But if you do prove that you can be more of a leader, (or maybe a boss, depends on the character), than a super-engineer who jumps around with leg-actuators, fixing everything themselves and being completely silent on engineering comms, I'll fully support your app.
18. The Phoron setup isn't too advanced, really. And the current engine is beyond terrible with a full Nitrogen build, to the point where it starts to melt after five emitter shots. I thus, found Phoron setups to not be upgrades, but actually essential, really.
19. Most of you would know that the go-to engine setup of engineers is 1 canister of Phoron in the Warm (cyan coloured) loop, and 2 canisters in the Cool (green coloured) loop. This isn't the only setup, really, but most, if not all, setups contain at least two cannisters of Phoron. In the current situation, we've four cannisters of Nitrogen in the far corner of the engine room, located here: These canisters are rarely, if not never, used. And when someone does use them, they use one or two canisters, at most. And currently, to do the most common setup, engineers need to go all the way into Atmospherics, hack through two doors, and then pull two canisters of Phoron in their storage all the way to the engine. The remaining required canister is located in hard storage, which is much easier to access. So, my suggestion is to change the four canisters to be something either like this: -or something like this: Now keep in mind that rarely do we get Atmospheric Technicians in engineering. And it's even rarer that they'd know what they help the engine out, instead of trying to fill distro with Phoron. With this, I think people who are newer to engineering will not have the burden of dragging two canisters all the way to the engine room after hacking through two doors, and the existing engineers will find their jobs easier at the start of rounds, and will be able to set the shields earlier on.
20. Maybe they can do it only when they're next to walls? But yeah, good idea.
21. Telescience is too rarely to be used to call it OP, and the people who do it, including myself, don't have perfectly accurate calculators. With the decimals, and maybe some random chance, i'm unsure, you tend to miss your target anyways, so it's rarely used as 'fancy taxi'.
22. Who cares, at this point? Android-to-IPC can provide RP and backstory for a characcter, and be somewhat entertaining, and I remember seeing pAI to IPC also being handled somewhat well. Most Cyborgs who say that they 'are transformed' into IPCs don't make a huge deal out of it anyways.
