[Denied] Eve's IPC Whitelist Application
Eve replied to Eve's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I decided to depend her almost entirely on Science, without the capabilities of fighting, medical or engineering. Her main focus will be RnD and Telescience, maybe Toxins or even try being an RD if I feel confident enough that she'd have an RP reason to over-arch. -
BYOND Key:AlFalah Character Names: Evangeline Du Dancion, E.V.E Species you are applying to play:Integrated Positronic Chasis What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: IPCs fit the futuristic theme of Aurora that I really enjoy, and their ability to rapidly learn, and their disability to fully understand human emotion and empathise make them a fun-to-play species in my opinion. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: As synthetics, they’re ruled by their pre-programmed utilion values, which is to mimic a non-synthetic’s sense of ethics and morality. As different numbers can be assigned to different utilion values, they have the ability to see the greater good, just like humans, lest they are programmed to. However, unlike non-synthetics, their utilion numbers cannot be changed due to occasion. Character Name: NT-R014198, Alice Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs In the year 2458, NanoTrasen experienced a noticeable decline in overall staff. Besides searching for additional employees, they also made the decision to emphasize the increased presence of synthetics in the workforce. However, not wanting to outsource more than they already do to Hephaestus who generally holds such a monopoly on the creation of synthetic frames, NanoTrasen began producing their own synthetics for use in the workplace. Thus started the development of an AI, in NanoTrasen’s relatively new Department of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence; since to them, an AI they’ve made would be much more efficient and trustworthy, as it’d be programmed with only NanoTrasen’s best interests held in mind. After the development had finished in the year of 2559, the department decided that it would be for the best that the personality was kept within a positronic brain, and was subjected to interaction with organics to best suit it for localized work. After a short amount of testing, intelligence NT-R014198 was confirmed to be fit for duty aboard NSS Aurora, bearing its own strengths and weaknesses. It could process and use data at a rapid pace, even by synthetic standards, allowing it to operate faster. The only flaw it had was its passive personality, where it’d usually prefer attending its own business, but it would accurately respond to verbal inputs, and answer them accordingly. Acquiring a Baseline frame from Hephaetus Industries for a moderate price, the positronic brain was placed inside, given the ‘nickname’ of Alice by the small team which developed it, for it to appear more approachable, and for ease of operations, to be shipped to NSS Aurora as a Scientist, mainly to attend RnD. What do you like about this character? Not completely understanding the concept of human emotion, it is rather entertaining to RP some level of miscommunication, as well as a synthetic’s struggles to scientifically learn the process of thought, to be able to understand them better. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7/10 Notes: I appreciate any and all feedback!

Considering the two having vastly different sizes, I doubt that this idea could be placed forth anyways.

[Accepted] Elliot's Head of Staff Application
Eve replied to Elliot's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I don't really remember interacting with Elliot in character, so do take my response with a slight pinch of salt. They were the first person who adopted me when I joined the CCIA, and were incredibly helpful and patient when they were dealing with someone who was stupid enough to be me. Extremely respectful, even more helpful, and overall a good person, if there are not any overwhelming impairs to their RP, I doubt they'd be unfit for a Head of Staff. -
[Accepted] Geeves' Unathi Whitelist Application
Eve replied to geeves's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I don’t know Unathi lore so I’m not really going to post anything about that, but Geeves’ ability to RP the whitelists he already has. I think I’ve only met his Diona, and I didn’t seem any problems regarding it. The language and phrases they used were fitting, their behaviour was no different from an experienced Diona player, etc. I feel like he’d tackle this just as well. +1 -
Trading Hub is even more tenuous than a Research Station. Why would a Trading Hub have Phoron Research, Xenobiology etc anyways? I think the solution to this “problem” of the lack of reseach players isn’t to change NT’s lore, but to guide more people to be accomodated into Research.

I like the idea, give it to ERT, and maybe to the RIGs in vault.

[2 dismissal] Remove Extended from Secret Rotation [Binned: 19/03/2018]
Eve replied to BurgerBB's topic in Rejected Policy
Ah yes, remove antags from extended so that people may start validing from round start. -
While we are getting 2 ERT on a good day, i don't think it's a good idea to whitelist them, really. Why not just loyalty implant them, and write a wiki guide?

Revert the Mapping Changes to Medical and the Brig
Eve replied to Bath Salts Addict's topic in Archive
Why is surgery facing the public hallway with windows and all? And why is Chemistry at the farthest corner? I really do not like this change. -
give us the ability to make elevator doors tbh

[Accepted]Resilynn's Skrell Application
Eve replied to Resilynn's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Resi is precious, we need more of Resi. I don't really know the lore behind Skrell, so I'd rather not comment on the part of their character, however- I adore the way Resi plays their characters. Their RP is amazing and they are pretty set about the abilities, strengths and weaknesses of their characters. It's always a pleasure to interact with their characters. Has my full support. +1 -
Xenobiology is extremely mundane. This could be a nice addition. And why do we stop there, and not take it a step further with carp, space-bats and whatnot?

[Accepted] Eab549 Head of Staff Whitelist - Ayden Pennington
Eve replied to eab549's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
So here's my two cents: First of all, you should've made this app when you are known further by the community, as people's feedback will be severely limited at the moment. I feel like if you waited for a week or two more, and hit the one and a half months mark, you'd be receiving much more positive credit. Your knowledge of engineering is fair. I don't know how much you know about Atmospherics, but you know enough to teach me few things, which is impressive. You've handled situations with success before, and you've been promoted to Interim but- Even though being a CE is as much RP as it is jumping around with the CE RIG, fixing breaches and all. And I don't really think that you could comfortably carry your burden of the Command RP, and the responsibilities of other engineers. Communication is always essential when it comes to engineering, and as a rule of thumbs, you're expected to coordinate with your teammates as soon as the immediate danger passes. And again, I really wish you made this app in two weeks, I'd get to make sure that you're capable, and you'd give other people to get to know you better, and perhaps develop your character further. Until then, I'll stand neutral. -
While it would be nice to have more European hour coverage, you mentioned to me last night that you're studying in the states on EST, which is my timezone and that of several others. Which parts of the year will you have that European time zone availability? In around three months, I’ll be returning to my European tomezone. And through the summer I shouldn’t move much from GMT+2/GMT+3.

I do not want to sound defensive, but I do not think I agree with what you're saying. Yes, I do ping people and mess around with them, and I've stretched/broken the inappropriate picture rule twice, but the last thing I'd do is to actively seek for someone's discomfort, and the day you told me that you did not like the way I posted, I've never pinged you ever since. But it doesn't really change the fact that the servers that I 'make you dread seeing me online' are all non-professional chats. If you wish to see how I behave in a professional environment, feel free to check the staff Discord's wiki group. I do play around, but when it comes to work, I rarely even think about it. Apart from that IC is IC, and I'm not changing how my character behaves unless something was to happen RPly, but so far it hasn't. Either way, I am sorry if I made you uncomfortable, I'll pay more attention to how I speak around you.

CCIA Staff Application Basic Information Byond key: AlFalah Character names:Evangeline Du Couteu, E.V.E the Android Age: 19 Timezone: EST(currently), GMT+2 (changes pretty much once per three months) What times are you most available?: Usually before noon, after 7pm on weekdays, almost the entire day of Saturday. Experience How long have you played SS13?: Around two months now, maybe three. How long have you played on Aurora?: The same amount. How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you? I’m not extremely active on the forums, and have used it for apps 95% of the time. I’m almost always accessible via Discord, and am active in pretty much almost any Aurora-related chat I’m in. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Not really. Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: I’ve been an Application Moderator on another roleplaying server on another platform, which is not too relevant to actual moderating, but it involved a fair bit of forum work where we’d whitelist applicants to the server, after judging their character’s backstories, their knowledge of the lore, make sure they’ve solid strengths and weaknesses, et cetera. I believe this experience may give me an advantage in handling IRs, as I have learned how to properly organize information, review it, and provide feedback if required. Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: I’m a Wiki Developer on the server, which again, requires one to sort and review information. I’ve been an actor in few few events of the server, and played the role of an important character, and made sure everything went smooth without going out of character for convenience. I’ve also DM’d for few DnD campaigns, and am alright with playing a pawn of the overseeing organisation. Personality Why do you want to join the CCIA?: As I’ve heard, there’s been a lack of CCIAs, especially in my timezone back in Europe. As someone with prior experience in playing the right hand of the Big Brother, I’d be more than glad to help out by taking a part of the responsibility myself. I also like the idea of IRs, where it is unlike most other procedures I’ve seen, where IRs and whatnot would be handled OOCly. Instead, Aurora’s CCIA forms reports, collects evidence and interviews witnesses, victims and whatnot, and ICly takes actions, even though the consequences might be OOC. What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: CCIA Agents are needed to be biased, both IC and OOC, as well as extremely cautious as they’ve little to no room for error. They are required to be patient while dealing with players, and also mature when dealing with in-round problems. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: To act as Central Command, attendto faxes, and stay in contact with the IAA in round via faxes, respond to situation reports, call ERT and/or an emergency shuttle if prompted by them, etc. If required, they can also invite people involved in IRs for interviews about the event in ODIN. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: Essentially handling IRs on the forums, get in touch with the players of the people who were involved in IRs using either Discord or Byond messages and schedule IC interviews, regulate IC via Directives, and act as Central Command. How do you handle stress?: I’m easily stressed, but hardly panicked. I believe stress actually improves my concentration, even if it inhibits creativity and whatnot. I’ve rarely reached the point of stress where It’d prevent me from working efficiently, and even then, I just take a moment to breathe. How well do you work autonomously?: Rather well. I tend to plan far ahead, and go over one thing at a time. My only weakness in working alone is the learning procedure. I’d say I’m an average learner, and may require aid until I’m sure I’m doing everything perfectly. Additional Notes:
