I'm going to reiterate my points. 1. I know for a fact that Resi does not like me as a player, and does not like my characters. I feel as if Resi, ICly, has gone out of her way several times to actively hate on Harper as Fernando, on comms, to her face, and behind her back. See the discord logs above, and here, her original post before she edited it out. "Fernando likes your characters better than I like you as a player." This says leagues about how Resi feels about me. Fernando consistently goes out of his way to berate Willow. I remember one event round, I was called to robotics as a cargo technician. As soon as I get there, Fernando looks to Harper and asks her, "where's your mop?" He has also berated Willow numerous times based on rank and has implied that Willow is stupid or lacks intelligence. If Fernando likes my characters better than Resi likes me as a player, I think I can conclude that regardless of what Resi says, that she does, in fact, hate me. The fact that she decapitated me as a frequent CMO player, tells me something very important. I feel as if she had the intention to keep me out of the round, knowing that most people are not cloned. Yonni said themselves that I was the first person they had seen cloned in a month. I also feel as if I'm being treated as lesser because I am a "young" player. I am by no means young. I am 17. In a little more than half a year, I will be 18. I feel as if I'm being treated like a child, instead of an adult, as I should be. This isn't the first time she's said something like that to me, either. 2. I am not complaining about the gimmick involving murder. I am complaining about how Resi went about the gimmick, and how I feel almost certain that Resi went out of her way to kill me. Resi did not have to say that Oliver "accidentally" named Harper, even clearly knowing that Oliver called Harper over, but she did. Resi didn't have to teleport into surgery, pull me off the table mid-surgery, run around stabbing me in the head while I was under anesthesia until I was decapitated, but she did. She could have waited until I was out of surgery, but didn't. I would have been less mad if I had been objectively viewed as a threat, but Willow was a visitor, who was unarmed. 3. I think Resi has a misunderstanding of what Antagonists are supposed to do. Yes, they are supposed to provide conflict and they are supposed to antagonize, but they are also supposed to ensure that the round is fun, and ensure that the round is enjoyable for most. Even after being told by four different people that were directly involved and/or affected by the gimmick, that how she went about things was not enjoyable, and did not make their round fun in any way, she refuses to just acknowledge that what she did was wrong and apologize for it, and reassure us that it won't happen again.

I'll tell everyone what happened from my perspective. I join probably 20 minutes into the round, roam around after getting a toolbelt, enter the bar as Harper. There's a roboticist who Harper perceives as picking on Oliver Lloyd as not working when there was already another scientist working science. After probably about 10 minutes security arrives, and Oliver is on the other side of the bar. He starts calling for Harper's attention and she comes over to see the Ninja holding Oliver at gunpoint. Soon after the Ninja teleports away and we tell security. I return to the bar after everyone has left, and the Ninja approaches me, telling me their whole schtick. What was not made apparent was the Ninja needing three people to actually die, and that I couldn't name them. Saig shoots them with the shotgun and I take this chance to run and call for security. Apparently Oliver had named me "accidentally" which, frankly, to me, seems like an excuse to kill me. I run to robotics once I see them approaching me in the central ring, Nikit sees them, and hits the shutters. The antag teleports in and tells me to choose or die. I choose the antag and they shoot me in the chest with shrapnel. At this point the shutters are opened and I run out of robotics to prevent myself from being shot more. I see the Ninja give chase and go to move the opposite direction (to security), when security shows up. The antag either teleports or goes invisible. Thinking that I'm safe for now, I go in for surgery to fix my broken ribs and to get the shrapnel out of me. While I'm under anesthesia, they've literally just opened me up when the Ninja appears, pulls me off the table, and literally starts trying to decapitate me. They succeed, and fuck off. I'm sorry if I seem emotionally charged. I did ahelp this and Yonnimer responded, but I have no idea what the verdict was, and I ahelped for gank. But that's not my issue. My issue is how they went about this. Instead of playing by their own rules, they tell me that they're immune to their rules and they're allowed to cheat. This could have been avoided if the antag had literally decided to name someone. I had no fun whatsoever during the entire gimmick, and it made me almost sit out an entire round. What was the story? You're hunting people? What makes this gimmick fun? I also have a suspicion that you saw the chance to kill me and you took it because I know you don't like Harper. You've expressed this to me several times in DMs and in OOC. Your main character, Fernando, literally goes out of his way to berate Willow whenever he can. You even state in those DMs that you don't like interacting with Harper, which is fine, cool. I have a feedback thread you could post on. I'm not mad because I died, I'm mad because of how you handled the situation and how you refuse to accept my feedback because I'm "mad" about dying and I'm one of the people you targeted.

This is the feedback thread for Willow Harper. Something I was kind of scared off from doing because of how harshly she's memed in OOC. If you don't want to or can't post in this thread, I'm also reachable via Discord (Rosetango#9810) and through the Byond messenger. If you do post in this thread, thank you for taking the time out of your day to do this when you could be doing something else. If you don't, that's okay, I'm happy enough that you at least looked.

Character Complaint: Willow Harper
Rosetango replied to Neinbox's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Willow isn't a character who wants to be the center of attention, but I can see why she comes across that way. Either way, I think I know what I need to do and it would help if people actually gave me feedback and told me what was wrong. I swear, I'm really not that scary of a person in DMs, and it usually helps me if you contact me right after the incident. Either way, it seems that escalation is a major issue here which is something I can probably end without admin intervention. Then it would be handling the fear RP aspect, something I still don't quite have an understanding of, which I probably could discuss with admins once I think I have a good enough grip on escalation. The only thing I'm really upset about is the absolute lack of people even telling me what was wrong. I really do want to be a better roleplayer, and I will admit, yes, sometimes I have trouble taking criticism, but I'm only human, I'm not perfect and I'm improving every day. I hope that in the end, people will take this as an invitation to reach out to me and talk to me about what they think I could do better with Harper. After posting this, I'm going to go ahead and open a feedback thread. Thank you all for coming forward with these issues, and I can't make any promises, but I can say that I will try my best to improve Harper. -

Thank you, Zundy! I don't think it's really time to end Willow's whole arc yet, so I'll probably do a combination of what you offered, plus what Jackboot said. I'll probably make a feedback thread sooner or later like Doxx suggested, probably after this complaint is closed. The only problem is finding a consistent psychiatrist to treat her (who will actually understand what Harper needs and what I'm going for). -
Character Complaint: Willow Harper
Rosetango replied to Neinbox's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Alright! I'm going to take this basically person by person, considering how many people have replied to this situation, going in order from the first page to this one. They'll be under spoilers because I don't want this post to clog up the entire page. Neinbox: TBear: Resi: Brutishcrab: Butter: Jackboot: Doxx: Also, I agree with basically most if not all of what Bauser is saying. He's saying it better than I ever could. Beyond that, I see two major complaints: a lack of fear RP (which I need more clarification on?) and escalation. I can understand in some cases where escalation can be an issue. As I've tried to explain before, Willow is working hard on fixing herself. It's not going to be instant, but I think she has shown significant improvement compared to how she was towards the end of June. Sure, she slips up, but that's because Willow is far from perfect. She's literally designed to be neither definitively good or evil, she can be both. -

I just wanted to state that I've been reading all of these and I'll make an in-depth reply tomorrow. Thank you all for going through this, even those who didn't have to but did anyway. I would also like to remind EVERYONE that I have a discord (Rosetango#9810) and I should be message-able on the byond messenger. If you have any criticisms for Harper or issues, please please please tell me about it. I have Asperger's, so I often fail to understand or pick up social cues that others do. This entire thread is why I've begged repeatedly in OOC to talk to me about any issues regarding Harper. I know Harper's portrayal is flawed. But I can't fix it if I don't know what I'm doing wrong. -
+1. There is a way to not give EMTs cargo warehouse access, I think in fact that most heads besides the HOP don't have access to the warehouse but I could be wrong. Honestly as a janitor, if I'm not already preoccupied, I usually let medical into places. I feel like Security, Cargo, & Science (listed in terms of priority) should definitely be in the list of access added.

-1. Seeing as I've never (personally) seen a parapen be used in combat, I don't see why we need to nerf it? If you take away the parapen, you take away one of the stealthier forms of attacking people. Honestly, I actually like being parapenned as a victim. It surprises me, reminds me to stay on my toes, and I've never had a para-pen result in a gank. Parapens are probably one of my favorite stealth "weapons" to use, because I'm not that good at being "robust." If taken away, it would force me (and others) to play a more potentially combat-oriented style, which in a high/heavy roleplay server, is probably the last thing you want. Most of my gimmicks intend to spur more RP and involve more RP than combat, and if I can help it, I try not to kill people unless it serves a purpose.

The Next Big Thing - The Official Write-up Boogaloo
Rosetango replied to Skull132's topic in General Announcements
I'm on the fence about this. On one hand, I like the concept. On the other hand, given the large player base... I like the idea of a persistent map, but I don't think it would work in long term. How would rollbacks work? Would the server shut down until an admin can decide for it to be rolled back? Will we be able to beta test this on a public testing server, to give better feedback? Are antagonists persistent? I don't want to be too harsh but I do think this project should go back to the drawing board until the specifics are decided upon and/or have something concrete to present. -
+1. Why? I think that Flavius (though I prefer the name Lucius) would be an interesting addition to the regular command characters. I've roleplayed with Paradox, and I honestly cannot recall an experience that ended in overwhelming negativity. It has always been positive, whether it be fun, funny, or character building. It's always a delight to see his characters interacting with others. Obviously, Paradox is not perfect and we've had our own personal disagreements, but we have always resolved them in a way that not only furthered our understanding of each other, but improved us as roleplayers and people, however minor. Paradox is also very vocal in his opinions, but he's actually very approachable and kind, just a bit shy. I hope he gets a command white list because I think he has genuine potential.

And I explained both times, that Willow hates unclean surroundings and will take it upon herself to clean. The suspension itself is not related to whether or not Willow can clean, it's related to the fact Willow punched a captain in the face. To me, it seems like you're trying to tell me how to play my character and trying to justify it with something of an unequal proportion. And as I said, Willow literally watched the janitor of the time stand in a hallway full of dirt, and accept an invitation to go to the bar.
-
BYOND Key: Rosetango Staff BYOND Key: TBear13 Game ID: bVj-dsAn Reason for complaint: I disagree with my warning. It implies that I'm trying to get around the CCIAA suspension Harper has, which I am not. I'm playing Harper as a clean freak and germaphobe. She does not like dirty environments as I've explained here, and I'm playing Harper as she is meant to be played. I had been around since round start and did not start cleaning up until around 30 minutes before round end, after Harper literally observed the janitor stand in a bunch of dirt and not clean, and even went off to the bar to have a drink. Evidence/logs/etc: https://imgur.com/a/S9M4Z66 Additional remarks: None, right now.

[Resolved] Player Complaint - ArmoryBlaine
Rosetango replied to CommanderXor's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Hey, Rosetango here! I was present for both Merc/heist rounds and a vampire round that involved Sean Richter and Jasmine Bullard. For the first merc/heist round, I remember as Willow I walked up on Tin (yonnimer) and Voxxe(?). Tin was administering first aid to Voxxe after tinkering with a combat cyborg slightly. When I approached, neither of them were hostile to me at least openly, such as pulling a gun out and aiming at Willow. Willow, feeling sympathetic, stayed by and watched. All of a sudden, Daniel Carmichael walks up either from the lower side of the holodeck or from behind me (the mercs were by the display case in the library) and without saying literally anything he just opens fire on the mercs, killing both Tin and Voxxe right before Willow. He then went on to brag about it on comms, which I find that unless Daniel is psychopathic or something, he shouldn't find enjoyment in taking two lives even if it's to protect the crew. The ISD's whole thing is to de-escalate things without lethal force or force at all if possible which was definitely possible in this case. In the second heist round, the one from last night, I can't really say much. Power was out for a majority of the round and we were all using station bounced radios. I literally didn't even know we had intruders until about an hour in, when Observo, the RD at the time, actually told Willow. Judging from an outside standpoint on the whole killing a newbie thing, and although I know my opinion isn't required, I just wanted to say this. Sure, it may have been a poor decisions to kill the newbie assistant, but he had actual reasons to do so and was doing it in the interest of not only himself, but his team and gimmick. I can verify that Xor apologized in OOC about it directly to the new guy, who actually seemed okay about it and even made a jest saying that he had come back and the most SS13 thing happened: random violence on an assistant. The last one probably deserves a complaint on it's own, but I would like to say that I have experienced similar behaviors to what seems like metagrudging. Me and Amory recently had a little falling out, because I didn't like his behavior, which I considered powergamey and validhunters. Being tired of his generally negative behavior towards other players, I told him that I didn't want to talk to him any more and blocked him. After this, Daniel went from talking/waving to Harper in the halls and asking to see her after work, to suddenly and without reason hating Harper violently, no longer talking/waving to her, and even calling her nosy and annoying which he has never done before. He got physical and borderline violent with Harper when she admittedly trespassed, but she trespassed into the front desk area to comfort the detective who had several burns all over, was starving, and even broke down crying whilst cuffed. At first, I thought that Amory had just been having a rough round, so he vented a little on Harper, which would have been explainable /if/ Daniel had gone about it a different way instead of doing a complete 180. It didn't occur to me until after the round, when I was talking to the player of the detective (RTNP) that Amory might have been metagrudging me. Daniel also kept shoving Harper and telling her to look at a wall which I just found kind of...bizarre and unexplainable? Anyway, that's just my two cents on this whole situation. -
I think it looks pretty good, the only thing I really disagree with is the color scheme. I feel as if the "black" should be bluer like the original suit, and the green should be a deeper, less pastel color. Other than that, I would like to see these actually become the sprites in-game, +1

Character Complaint: Willow Harper
Rosetango replied to BurgerBB's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Sorry, I forgot to address this in my last post. This was the first shift ever that I had ordered a medkit (a white, basic medkit, not a red one). This has not been a repeated behavior. I also refer to my last post about the deterrent: Willow always wears a purple lab coat, a fully covering suit, black gloves and a sterile mask. I honestly didn't think this would be a problem, considering that it hadn't been one before, and an admin had given me the go-ahead before. -
Character Complaint: Willow Harper
Rosetango replied to BurgerBB's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I think there's been a misconception. Willow does not fear blood, she has germaphobia. Hence why she's covered almost head to toe in protective gear. Willow does not work as an EMT or paramedic because she believes that she could not handle it if someone died in her arms, however, she is not one to just let people die because it's "not her job". As far as I know, never once have I been told that what I'm doing is powergaming, even when another member of staff (I can't remember who) had checked my character out when I was AHelped for scanning someone. -
Character Complaint: Willow Harper
Rosetango replied to BurgerBB's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Ah, apologies then. Willow did have an intent to turn the weapons in and did so at the end of the round before heading to departures. As far as I'm aware, Burger was observing. If he's here, ParadoxSpace should weigh in on this. I think he was playing the cargo technician at the time. (Edit: 9:19 AM CST) I just wanted to clarify that it was never my intent to fight the antags myself, and that it was my intention to turn the items in as soon as possible. I wasn't able to until the raiders decided it was time to leave (when Willow's conversation with the raider ended) and that the crew transfer was called. She turned them directly in, to the warden. -
Character Complaint: Willow Harper
Rosetango replied to BurgerBB's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Hi, Willow Harper's player here. First off, I'd like to apologize in advance for any incoherencies or inconsistencies. My memory is far from the best and I'm not going to claim I remember everything I do. I'm also on mobile at the time that I've begun writing this, about twenty minutes before 10 AM. I'm going to start off by saying that every round I've played Harper in, she is far from the center of attention. She's vocal, yes, but not the center of attention. There has been one round (yesterday or Sunday) where the raiders were hurting one of her best friends, Zion Carr, and this is how she processed the situation. She believed that Security wasn't going to be able to act fast enough, so she exchanged her life for his forcing her way into mining, because she believes that her life, when compared to thriving ones like Zion's, are worth less. Did she want to throw away her life? No. But you also don't know Willow's backstory, as far as I'm aware, and I hope you understand that I don't want to reveal to the entire community her backstory when it's so much more fun to find out ICly. Outside of that, Harper has never, ever offered her life in exchange for someone else, unless you're talking about the ninja, in which Willow sacrificed herself for the crew's safety, rather than one person. Willow is not exactly the most mentally well of people, but she's stable enough to work. Willow also does not believe Command are Nazis or whatever. Willow is vocal, yes, but she's also naive, and curious. Willow likes to learn and make choices for herself. If she has issues with what a head of staff is doing, she will question it, and in some cases (such as when Blackscale shot at Willow in the library) she will disobey orders because she thinks it might get her killed. And when she's wrong, she acknowledges it. (Maybe to an extreme extent of blaming herself, but that's her character. She did apologize to Shen that round, and even blamed herself for why Erin and Jake got shot and openly wished that she was the one who got shot with the ballistic weapons instead. I can't think of any other time Willow immediately arrived on the scene of antag action or something besides maybe when Medical was running low and she explicitly asked Fernando over comms if she could transport wounded to the lobby, but that's only one time I can remotely think of that she could have been trying to "involve herself". If there are more examples that you can explicitly recall, please please please tell me and I'll gladly inform you of what I remember happening. I'm not sure if you did this intentionally or not, but I would like to note that at the very start of the round, I think there was a chemist and a virologist. Literally the only staff in medical. At the beginning of the shift, before I knew that it was raiders, Willow ordered (and paid for with her own funds) a first aid kit, so that she could assist medical. When it was announced there were armed intruders outside mining, I think I'd just got back from crashing and I was told to come into Cargo by the CT, who Willow had never met prior to this round. In a roundabout way, Willow ends up being given a weapon. Willow admittedly didn't openly object to being given any weaponry or defense items, but Willow honestly didn't think she would need them. The cargo shuttle had arrived, so we head to the surface to get the first aid kit. As we were heading back down, Nemo (ForgottenTraveller) was on the construction level, and stopped the lift. At this point, my game is lagging for reasons unknown to me, maybe just bad internet. He pointed a gun at us but because I was lagging I clicked (or moved, I don't recall clearly but I firmly believe I clicked.) This made him fire at me. At this point, the CT pulls out his gun and aims it at Nemo, followed by all hell breaking loose. We escape to main level with no issue. At no point in this encounter did Willow pull out a gun. Willow, although she had a tactical mask, was not wearing one at the time and was actually wearing a cyborg mask. Willow was upset (thinking Nemo was still alive at the time, unsure of his injuries) because she thought that Vira was actively ignoring her. Willow, thinking Nemo was still alive, just wanted Vira to be aware of what happened and if they came on board, that he should be charged accordingly. As soon as she found out he died, she actually apologized to the raiders, and literally said that she "hoped you aren't mad at her." The reason why Willow was so relaxed around the raiders is because they were disarmed, not actively being hostile towards her, etc. In fact, once she knew that the raiders weren't there for her in particular, and that Nemo was acting alone, Willow relaxed completely and began interacting with Jack Corteau, mainly on the basis of curiosity which led to her discussing her backstory, and how she relates to Jack's backstory. I reiterate, Willow began to "chat up" the raiders because she had been convinced that they weren't capable of harming her, weren't there for her, and she related to Jack. Keep in mind, as clever as Willow is, she's also naive, and this naivety can lead to stupidity. I hope this explains her actions suitably to you. Please, if you (or anyone else) has issues with how I play Harper, I'd like them to come forward and state a specific example and what they think I could have done better. I know I'm not perfect, and Harper sure as hell isn't. -

I was not aided by several other crew men in defending myself, they were trying to get me away from you. I was alone when you began pulling me, I backed up, said don't touch me, and then pulled out the claymore which I bought very early on into the shift. I have several questions for you, based on that round: 1. How does killing Leah make the round more interesting, especially when there are 15~ minutes left in the round? 2. Where was the escalation? What IC motivation did you have for killing Leah? Was she a threat to you? 3. Where was the roleplay? Stopping a fight by teleporting me and telling me "let's go" isn't really roleplay. I wouldn't be so upset about the death had there been more interaction. I just think that the way my death occurred didn't really make the round more interesting or fun for any of the people involved. And I understand to gank is to kill without roleplay or escalation--of which I felt there was none of both because Leah had not acted out hostile-ly towards borgs until you started pulling her, and roleplay implies a decent amount of interaction--talking, emoting, etc. -

Hey. Rose, the victim & one who ahelped, here on mobile! Sorry if this is formatted poorly or if there are any typos. Taken directly from a rant on discord: "Literally only "interaction" I had with them was them flashing & teleporting Leah when she went at the engineer who stole the claymore she bought, after she pulled it out when he punched her in the jaw first. We (CE had noticed) knew it was malf but we were all preoccupied. Leah finally gets her sword back and goes to head to medbay because she's a stubborn bitch and is bleeding out now from a fight with said engineer. She sees holocarp outside of the holodeck next to medbay which equals wrong for her. Since CT was called she called the northern lift. Research borg comes over, says "lets go" and starts pulling her in the direction of the holocarp. Leah pulls back, says don't touch me, and pulls out her claymore. (Context: Leah has no idea how to use a claymore. She only knows how to use knives. At this point she's going into shock and has no idea what's going on.) He flashes her and starts pulling her into the empty elevator shaft, at which point Leah thinks, "oh shit, it's trying to kill me." Some other crew show up, yackety sax happens, she's stuck in robotics with nothing but her toolbelt. Leah tries to break out, so he comes over to saw her leg off (and succeeds) but Leah starts beating the borg with a wrench while the others try to save her. He flashes Leah and literally starts pulling her all over the place deeper into science, making her wounds worse. She passes out towards the sci lift after calling out for the CE, and later dies to her injuries. The ganker in question literally admitted in OOC that he only wanted an elevator kill. -
Feedback: Khaled Al-Bastaki (RIP Raymond Hawkins)
Rosetango replied to Faris's topic in Character and Concept Feedback
I can't provide any feedback for Khaled, haven't really seen them. As for Raymond, I think he's a pretty good character. I haven't had a chance to interact a whole lot with him much, but judging by the manifest, what little interaction I've had, and some of his records, I think he's got a solid foundation as a character. Seems pretty believable, which honestly, I consider one of the most important aspects in an HRP server. Not to say that you can't have a nontraditional character--for example, Preston Prestoff, or Paul Bird. It just needs to be done well. Hoping to see more interaction between him and my characters. -
SINS OF THE FATHER Synopsis: After a fight on the N.S.S. Aurora between Levi Siskin and Tim Woolery unearths years of domestic abuse, Martian-Sol authorities were contacted on the behalf of the Siskin sisters. Following the successful conclusion of the trial and the rightful conviction of Levi, Leah obtains his house. With the house, however, she inherits a plethora of sins that she had never known about. As these sins come to the surface and his buried past is revealed to her, it comes to light that a debt is owed. Like a new moon in a starless night, a new chapter of her life is about to begin. Leah can survive through hidden wit and keen senses, but will the fractured psyche barely kept together by her make it through? PART I - Take Me Home, Country Roads The electricity in the air could be felt by everyone in the courtroom, as the judge spoke to the jury. Leah didn’t seem to hear anything--not until her sister tapped her. Leah wore a formal yellow dress while Mae wore a green one. Mae leaned in and whispered, “Leah, the Jury’s about to read their judgment on Levi.” She leaned back and squeezed Leah’s hand in anticipation. Leah picked at her nails, shaking somewhat, her heartbeat in her ears, cold sweat beading… “We, the jury of the Twenty-First Elysium Martian court, find the defendant, Levi Siskin…” There was an unintended dramatic pause before the jury foreman continued. “Guilty of two felony domestic violence charges.” Mae let out a soft wail and embraced Leah. Levi scoffed and looked away, gritting his teeth and pulling back his lips as if to snarl like a wild hound. “He is sentenced to a year in jail…” The world faded out for Leah, her vision blurring with the tears from years of pain. ~~~ It felt strange, as she left the courtroom guided by the gentle hands of her sister. Being surrounded by family, blood and not, and friends left her feeling safe. Yet, there was another creeping sensation of unreality. The chatter of her loved ones grew into a deep, humming static as warm arms guided her to the courthouse lobby. The static grew louder and louder, almost into a dull deafening roar. Leah couldn’t think, couldn’t form the words that wouldn’t come to mind, reality was slipping away from her fingertips as all her senses were dulling--- “Lee?” A familiar, masculine voice pierced the shroud. It reminded her that she was there, really there... That she was safe, she was here. Safe in the company of family, safe in the company of friends and away from the man-- “Lee, snap outta it.” Alex Craven was there, snapping his fingers to get her attention. He was semi-formally dressed for the trial. As Leah’s gaze focused and turned to him, he smiled and leaned back, his hands slipping into his pockets. Though, his smile turned into a slight frown as his brows furrowed. Leah returned the smile after a small pause, casting her gaze over those who had come out to support her. There, in a small pocket, were the Woolery’s. The gigantic bear-dad Tim. The athletic psyche Alistair, and the chubby journalist Elise, all chattering amongst themselves. Tim noticed Leah’s sweeping gaze and smiled--she nodded in return. Then there was the small group of “Golden Boys”. It consisted of the golden unathi Uwasv Sidanelv and frontiers-born human Francis Martonis. Then there was her quartermaster friend Yuri Daruski making small talk with a very observant but calm Kalren Halstere. He was clad in his Martian uniform and leaning on his cane for support. Finally, there was her sister, Mae Siskin with her freckled face, standing at a solid 5’9”. She was shaking hands with Angel Schrader, greeting him for the first time as she dabs away tears from her eyes. Leah couldn’t help but feel warm--and happy. She directed her attention back to a concerned Alex, sounding a little frantic. For the sake of ease and her friends, she spoke Tau Ceti Basic. “Ah, s-sorry, Alex. Was th-there s-something you wanted?” She smiled, albeit a little sheepish. She rubbed her arm, noting it was bare. She wasn’t a fan of dresses, but it was her sister’s advice. “No no, not at all Lee. Just making sure you were alright.” He noted her nervous tic, something he was used to seeing now. “Hey, uh, Lee,” he stumbled at first, “listen--you did fantastically. He’s gone now, gone for good. He can’t hurt you anymore, yeah? You’ve got your friends here around you who all have your back. I told you, you were strong enough to make it through, and you did, didn’t you?” He grinned at her, reaching over to pat her head, before resting it on her shoulder. There was a silence between the duo, nothing but the gentle whirring of his Hephaestus prosthetic. Then, a warm, liquid sensation began to well up in her eyes, tears. She pulled Alex into for a hug to hide the tears into his jacket. As she breathed in, her chest rose and as she exhaled, she shuddered. She didn’t want to get his clothes wet...but at least tears didn’t stain. Alex, in an awkward fashion, embraced her and rubbed her back. Breathing in, Leah calmed herself and broke away from the hug, wiping her eyes. “Uhm...th-thanks, Alex. I’ll be okay, for th-the uh, most part I th-think...just a...just a little emotional th-there. Th-thanks for s-supporting me, I uh...didn’t think these many people would care about me.” She spoke, scratching the back of her head before adjusting the sleeves of her dress. “It’s no big deal, Lee. You’re a friend, one I care deeply for.” Alex smiled and Leah nodded, letting him return to chat with his friends while she began to approach Yuri. Halstere had left Yuri on his lonesome to greet and familiarize himself with Mae Siskin. “Hey, Yuri.” A nervous smile from Leah. “Howdy, Leah.” A smile from Yuri, followed by him putting his hands in his bomber jacket pockets, observing Leah’s tense and anxious demeanor. “So...uh, ‘bout that verdict, eh? Holdin’ up alright, aye?” “...For th-the most part, I th-think I’m okay. My f--” She stopped, pausing before she continued. “Levi got what was coming to him. He can’t hurt us, me and Mae are s-safe.” She frowned at first, but it transformed into a smile that showed her inner spitfire nature, although still hidden by her timid nature. Yuri, though surprised by this display, was ultimately comforted. He offered her a confident smile, nodding as he shifted side to side. “Good to hear, Leah. We’re here if ye need to talk to someone, aye?” Leah smiled again. “Thanks for th-the offer, I’ll keep it in mind.” Turning to the group, she had a few more chats with the others. After a little while, she beamed as she got everybody’s attention. “Hello, everybody! I’m uh, going out for lunch and I would like it if you all could come, maybe?” She rubbed an arm. “If you can’t pay, I can help.” As she left the courthouse with her friends and family, she looked upon their beloved faces. A fuzzy sensation tickled her heart and she couldn’t help but smile, because for once in her life, she felt genuinely loved. Lunch had never tasted sweeter. (DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD.)

I would just like to say thank you to the people who have replied thus far. I'm sure some people who I've talked to on discord have deeper insight into Leah as I often "soundboard" (throw ideas at other ppl until they stick) with other people familiar with Leah, but you are still allowed to comment here if you're one of those people. I would also like to say thank you to Haveatya, you have no idea how much it means to me that you say those things. I try to make sure that everything that my character does has a reason, and I want to ensure that if I'm interacting with any antags that they also get the best RP possible. So thank you, over all.
