/!\ READ - STATE OF TAJARAN /!\
SierraKomodo replied to Susan's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I thought anyone attack anyone was treated as assault either way? Or are you referring to as a human punching X = minor assault, while a Taj/Unathi clawing(Punching) X = major assault? See, I'd be fine with what Ravens is suggesting here. I built my earlier Tajaran chracters backstories around racism like this, fully expecting to be treated in this manner. But no, instead it feels more like there's those who treat us like some higher being, those that don't give a damn, and those that feel more like trolls than characters when interacting with Tajaran. -

Lady_of_Ravens' IPC Application
SierraKomodo replied to Lady_of_Ravens's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I approve. I've been wondering when you'd put in an IPC application; Empress is one of my favorite AIs, and this backstory fits in with the current lore I think. I just have one thing. 'including a severely malfunctioning pleasure robot'. Please don't be into Tajarans. Oh god that'd get real awkward if my characters had a robot trying to get in their pants. XD -
LimoDish - Tajaran Application
SierraKomodo replied to .:LimoDish:.'s topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I have, quite literally, never seen you before this post. Have you even logged onto the SS13 server and played any rounds? -
To be fair, like most other departments, if the departmental storage starts lacking supplies, that's what the cargo department is for.

I'm also going to mention here that I think you're trying to step beyond the role of an EMT/Paramedic. Your job should be to stabilize the wounded on-scene, by cleaning and securing burns/cuts/breaks, getting them on a stretcher or in a stasis bag if necessary, maybe giving small amounts of certain medicines to stabilize them (Dexalin if they have a popped lung for example, dylovene if there's a toxins issue), then bring them to medbay for the doctors/surgeons to properly fix them up. All of the tools you need for this can be taken from the medkits, the medplus dispenser, chemistry, or even ordered from cargo in a medical crate

End of shift competency report: General Station Rating: 3/10. TADAAAA!

That would be correct. I was the admin that dispatched the ERT after chatting with DOs, if I'm remembering this situation correctly. The message from the Aurora simply told us about a virus, we all agreed on sending medical ERT, and I ordered a DO to spawn in and brief the ERT on said medical emergency. As such, it's very difficult to expect them to come ready for combat. At best, they'll probably have self defense weapons and maybe a single combat dude because a medic needs to make sure he's alive above anyone else because otherwise there's no doctor. A quick note about that, and something I just realised. For the time I was ghosted and saw the DO (I've forgotten his name) briefing the ERT, I recall him specifically saying 'You dont need weapons, dont bring them' or something like that when one of the troopers (Whom I believe was the security escort) said he was going to grab one. As someone who up until recently was a DO, I'm fairly certain one of the rules was we could brief an ERT, but could not outright order them to do or not do anything. Not saying anyone needs to get in trouble here, but that one command worked against the ERT's favor when it came to the guy kidnapping the security trooper, and ERT might have been slightly better equipped to handle the actual situation if he'd been allowed to bring non medical gear.

Totally agree with MeowMoo , people dont care a shit about their horse face . It was much better before. Maybe not letting you speak is a bit too much... But what about if every 2 words you say you have to yell like a horse so its hard to understand you but possible. Hulk style, except instead of all caps roaring, it's NEIGH!
-
I fully agree with this. The ERT that was dispatched was a medical ERT - the troopers would have been medically trained, possibly with one security ERT to provide escort/protection of the medics. They were sent there to handle a medical issue and are trained for medical issues, not for security issues. It'd be like calling for a doctor, then expecting him to be a police officer, as Delta said.

EMT's spawn with an advanced first aid kit just like medical doctors do. In fact I think the EMT and MD loadouts are the same, except for the jumpsuit and jacket.

Azaela and her two siblings Dahlia and Eremerus were named after flowers.

OOC: Feel free to post your own character obituaries, whether they're for characters on the Aurora, friends/family of characters, or someone not related to the station at all.

For everyone's reference, the ban set was on the RKS teamspeak server, as a permanent ban (Py said that the next issue on the server from Hunter should be a permanent ban). Teamspeak bans need to be appealed on the RKS Zone forums here, where the teamspeak's server staff can look at it: http://www.rkszone.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9 - From what I am aware of, this was your third strike on the server over the course of 2 days, after being previously temp banned for various reasons. So, on another note, Py has also informed me (And I've notified admins in turn) that the RKS Teamspeak server doesn't just ban your teamspeak UID from the server, but also completely blocks your IP address on the firewall, which syncs with the other firewalls owned by RKS, including the firewall for the SS13 server. They're currently working on unsynchronizing the firewalls (this wasn't supposed to happen, bit of a bug or oversight I think; Dont think anybody was ever banned from TS3 and not SS13 before).

There's a very specific reason for that, if I'm remembering how this was explained before. If the generators lined up, you'd end up with shields cutting right through the containment area, connecting all the generators that are lined up.

This will be in the pull request this saturday. When it get copied to the live server is up to the devs.

Got the sprite, working on removing the 'slip' feature (I'm using soap as a base so it can be used mechanically to actually clean something), and on how to change what can hold it.

My personal interpretation of 'serve your crew according to rank and role' says that if their rank/role would not allow them access, then I would be violating that law by opening the door for them, unless someone whose rank/role does have access says to do so.
-
It's an issue of accountability, so that a DO can't say person X said/did Y or person X can't say DO said/did Y; There's absolute proof in logs (The DO recorder saves a hard file to the server, that any DO can access read-only once the recorder is shut off in game). As for Reyjakai's issue, I feel like a good part of the 'People started complaining after I had actions against me' was because you took a 'Suspended from robotics and RD, and not allowed to use weapons' and turned it into 'They lobotimized me, now I can't talk or do anything because my combat module is actually a part of my brain and I'm gonna go to IAA for pity points and get them to start sending angry faxxes to the Duty Officers'. The original punishment had absolutely nothing to do with what you were saying was done to your character, to the best of my knowledge. (I wasn't involved in making the decision, as I was involved as the AI in that investigation). And finally, to everyone in general regarding transparency and nobody being informed, I've already poked Gollee about an issue that arose from that. Assuming everyone cooperates, I'll be keeping a thread up to date with current injunctions/suspensions/other actions in the heads of staff forum: http://aurorastation.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=2934 DISCLAIMER: I am still not a duty officer, nor am I a contact to get through to a duty officer. I'm just trying to help resolve some of these issues. P.S.: I think we need some kind of list of who is a Duty Officer, for the purpose of players knowing who to contact/bug (And so people don't keep coming to me).

Player Complaint - MoralsManners/Nikolas Kepplinger

Scopes just informed me this actually was handled by moderators, and actions were taken, so this isn't relevant; It can be archived. -
BYOND Key: SierraKomodo Player Byond Key: MoralsManners, as Nikolas Kepplinger, Virologist Staff involved: Japak Reason for complaint: First off, he released a virus (Not sure which one exactly) that infected nearly the entire crew as far as I'm aware, on an extended round. This virus resulted in 8 or 9 people being dead, and out of the round, for a good hour, hour and a half (Some of them werent cloned and released until just before the shuttle was called). This virus resulted in an ERT being called, then eventually an emergency shuttle. After being arrested and while being questioned by security, he stated his intent was to infect and kill the non-human furries, and throughout his time in detainment, made comments like 'Im going to rape you' to female persons, 'Im going to murder your kids', and 'I hate furries like you', in character. I ahelped each of these issues, and barely got a response from staff (Just a k, thanks up until my last ahelp near round end, where Japak actually responded and said he'd handle it, although I see no evidence of anything actually having been done as the player wasn't banned, and he continued saying things even after that last ahelp response). Approximate Date/Time: October 18, approximately 5:20 to 7:20 pacific standard time

Player Complaint - Madpredar3
SierraKomodo replied to ForgottenTraveller's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Yes, the first incident was you ganking that miner on the asteroid. The second incident was about a week ago, after that, where you were a cultist in cargo. Head of personnel steps in, you wordlessly use the flash/stun talisman and start beating Azaela to death. No RP, no words, no build up. Plus, you were spending a good part of that round turning cargo into a fortress with barricades and stuff, again without any word, warning, or RP of any sort. EDIT: I actually think this might have been my head of security, Sarah Wolfe, not my HOP. Third incident? You're a vampire, Zaki is in the cargo lobby waiting for gloves. Suddenly he's hit by a syringe that I'm assuming had sleep toxin, dragged into the cargo warehouse and, wait for it.. Killed by you without any word, warning, or RP. And to top it off? His body was stuffed in a locker and thrown into space where nobody would ever find it. You see a pattern here? -

This is the person who plays as Cash? If so, there's several incidents of powergaming/gank that has been ahelped by myself and others in the past about his character; It's gotten to where if I see him online in cargo, I will outright avoid the cargo department to avoid dealing with another round of being powerganked. -
I vaguely recall a suggestion awhile back to call them 'Custodial Engineers', although that was a part of a suggestion to make janitors part of the engineering department
