Personally, I think it'd be situational, depending on the context, what happened, if it's adversely affecting a player's round more than it should, etc. -

DISCLAIMER: I'm not an official spokes person for the DOs, or even a DO anymore; This is just my opinion and how I'd handle this if I was a DO taking such a complaint It'd have to be a balance between making sure the person filing the complaint isn't having their rounds turned to shit constantly by the racist person, while still upholding the IC lore/law/regulation/etc. I'd already been taking steps to curb the blatant, constant outburst of obviously trolling racism while 'ignoring' the more subtle things when it came to start-of-shift general announcements and such. There hasn't actually been any racism oriented reports that I've seen (And were actually handled) so I don't really have a basis to work off on this. The purpose of the DOs, though, is to handle consistant, constant IC issues from characters that aren't necessarily violating any OOC rules, but are still in constant violation of regulations/in character rules/laws/etc, or who's IC activities might be disrupting the round in a minor way, but not major enough for it to be ahelpable. -
IPC's, occupation qualifications, skills
SierraKomodo replied to Dreamix's topic in Answered Questions
I personally made up IC reasons for the restrictions on characters to match my IPC Katana. NanoTrasen only contracted her for security, atmospherics, and station bound AI work. Therefore, any knowledge she may have of other fields are blocked/non-existant while in the NT contracted IPC chassis (Whether it be through access to certain databanks being firewalled, certain systems being suppressed by the chassis, etc). It's a rather simple and probably vague explanation, but it works when someone asks for something Katana can't do in that role. -
Why? More interesting situations happen from people being taken alive than outright killed. Edit: I'm saying this, because we're currently living in a context where people who opt for non-lethal takedowns in a fight get actively punished when the other party goes for lethal. On a HRP server, it essentially tends to make nonlethals obsolete in nonlethal-vs-lethal situation, and punishes players for wanting to keep others alive, which is sorta counter-intuitive to what server staff have been trying to encourage. There's been a few situations where people have complained about how a taser is faster/more effective at bringing someone down than an SMG/Laser. Three taser rounds, which can be spammed quickly, = dropped. Three lasers or bullets = Hurt but still fighting.

I thought anyone attack anyone was treated as assault either way? Or are you referring to as a human punching X = minor assault, while a Taj/Unathi clawing(Punching) X = major assault? See, I'd be fine with what Ravens is suggesting here. I built my earlier Tajaran chracters backstories around racism like this, fully expecting to be treated in this manner. But no, instead it feels more like there's those who treat us like some higher being, those that don't give a damn, and those that feel more like trolls than characters when interacting with Tajaran. -

Lady_of_Ravens' IPC Application

I approve. I've been wondering when you'd put in an IPC application; Empress is one of my favorite AIs, and this backstory fits in with the current lore I think. I just have one thing. 'including a severely malfunctioning pleasure robot'. Please don't be into Tajarans. Oh god that'd get real awkward if my characters had a robot trying to get in their pants. XD -
LimoDish - Tajaran Application

I have, quite literally, never seen you before this post. Have you even logged onto the SS13 server and played any rounds? -
To be fair, like most other departments, if the departmental storage starts lacking supplies, that's what the cargo department is for.

I'm also going to mention here that I think you're trying to step beyond the role of an EMT/Paramedic. Your job should be to stabilize the wounded on-scene, by cleaning and securing burns/cuts/breaks, getting them on a stretcher or in a stasis bag if necessary, maybe giving small amounts of certain medicines to stabilize them (Dexalin if they have a popped lung for example, dylovene if there's a toxins issue), then bring them to medbay for the doctors/surgeons to properly fix them up. All of the tools you need for this can be taken from the medkits, the medplus dispenser, chemistry, or even ordered from cargo in a medical crate

End of shift competency report: General Station Rating: 3/10. TADAAAA!

That would be correct. I was the admin that dispatched the ERT after chatting with DOs, if I'm remembering this situation correctly. The message from the Aurora simply told us about a virus, we all agreed on sending medical ERT, and I ordered a DO to spawn in and brief the ERT on said medical emergency. As such, it's very difficult to expect them to come ready for combat. At best, they'll probably have self defense weapons and maybe a single combat dude because a medic needs to make sure he's alive above anyone else because otherwise there's no doctor. A quick note about that, and something I just realised. For the time I was ghosted and saw the DO (I've forgotten his name) briefing the ERT, I recall him specifically saying 'You dont need weapons, dont bring them' or something like that when one of the troopers (Whom I believe was the security escort) said he was going to grab one. As someone who up until recently was a DO, I'm fairly certain one of the rules was we could brief an ERT, but could not outright order them to do or not do anything. Not saying anyone needs to get in trouble here, but that one command worked against the ERT's favor when it came to the guy kidnapping the security trooper, and ERT might have been slightly better equipped to handle the actual situation if he'd been allowed to bring non medical gear.

Totally agree with MeowMoo , people dont care a shit about their horse face . It was much better before. Maybe not letting you speak is a bit too much... But what about if every 2 words you say you have to yell like a horse so its hard to understand you but possible. Hulk style, except instead of all caps roaring, it's NEIGH!
-
I fully agree with this. The ERT that was dispatched was a medical ERT - the troopers would have been medically trained, possibly with one security ERT to provide escort/protection of the medics. They were sent there to handle a medical issue and are trained for medical issues, not for security issues. It'd be like calling for a doctor, then expecting him to be a police officer, as Delta said.

EMT's spawn with an advanced first aid kit just like medical doctors do. In fact I think the EMT and MD loadouts are the same, except for the jumpsuit and jacket.

For everyone's reference, the ban set was on the RKS teamspeak server, as a permanent ban (Py said that the next issue on the server from Hunter should be a permanent ban). Teamspeak bans need to be appealed on the RKS Zone forums here, where the teamspeak's server staff can look at it: http://www.rkszone.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9 - From what I am aware of, this was your third strike on the server over the course of 2 days, after being previously temp banned for various reasons. So, on another note, Py has also informed me (And I've notified admins in turn) that the RKS Teamspeak server doesn't just ban your teamspeak UID from the server, but also completely blocks your IP address on the firewall, which syncs with the other firewalls owned by RKS, including the firewall for the SS13 server. They're currently working on unsynchronizing the firewalls (this wasn't supposed to happen, bit of a bug or oversight I think; Dont think anybody was ever banned from TS3 and not SS13 before).

There's a very specific reason for that, if I'm remembering how this was explained before. If the generators lined up, you'd end up with shields cutting right through the containment area, connecting all the generators that are lined up.

This will be in the pull request this saturday. When it get copied to the live server is up to the devs.

Got the sprite, working on removing the 'slip' feature (I'm using soap as a base so it can be used mechanically to actually clean something), and on how to change what can hold it.
