Looking at this as more of a 'Tajaran looking for a relationship partner' than 'Tajaran looking for sex' being the canonical thing here, I'm not too keen on the idea of it being a 'heat' since there's already negative stuff about Tajarans and how the species is all furry all the time in some peoples eyes. That said, Tajara do have a shorter lifespan, and a culture in their past that sounds like they have tight/close bonds with their mates/families. Those two things combined I can see being a contributing factor to Tajarans as a whole being more susceptible to loneliness, and going on that 'journey' or finding someone to be with (And as with humanss, there's different ways that different Tajara would go about that - Whether it be the flirt, the cassanova, the hard-to-get, etc).

The escort, in this case, was actively chatting, albeit in brief words, with Kaipov. The carbine was holstered and set to stun. No hostile or aggressive words or acts were performed up to the emote and clickspam of the gun. Sure, the escort was armed (Visibly, since the carbine was shoulder over the armor and not in the satchel), but she wasn't an immediate or direct threat to him at that point. That's like a nukeop immediately gunning down a security officer on sight just because he happens to have a taser in his belt. -

is absolutely ridiculous. I'm not even sure where people are getting the idea that wanting to discuss the quality of roleplay coming from a character is actually the result of an internalized persecution complex against a fandom, but you're missing the mark by far. And this is essentially devolving into "pulling a fictional, made-up and entirely nonexistent race card without any valid points". That might be where we fundamentally disagree. I don't think there's much room for people to act like stereotypical furries on a regular SS13 HRP server. There's furry servers, and furry roleplay communities, but outside of that "furry" behavior is generally widely ridiculed, and for a good reason. I don't care that he's a furry. I don't care if he wants to play a cat character because we already have cat characters. But I do care about him turning a non-furry game into a furry extravaganza. -

Rolling down jumpsuits as a female Tajara... Let's see Here's some more female Tajara that do this: Rasine Ha'kim Ziva Mo'Taki Jo'Zah Saani (She doesn't have an undershirt) Rai Amari (Iirc she doesn't have an undershirt either) And I'm sure there's more. No complaints about them. Running around glowing/genetically modified on a consistant basis? Name one regular geneticist who /isn't/ doing that after 45 minutes. You have problems with furries and characters being played by/as furries? I'm a furry. There's other furries on this server too, but I'm not going to name them because you'll probably start throwing complaints at them too. 'Overly sexualized' female character? Lesbay. Is there a reason you people are filing complaints specifically against The_Furry's characters, for things that are done/have been done by various other characters and players (Myself included) without a single complaint over the past almost year I've been here? -

Just real quick, I looked over the hiring requirements for the roles of Atmos Tech and Xenobiologist from the wiki. Atmospherics Technician requires a bachelor's degree OR 7 years of prior experience, and you must be at least 25 Xenobiology requires a PhD, and you must be at least 30 A PhD will take an average of 8 years to acquire, a bachelor's an average of 4 years if I recall correctly. -

One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Diona is next in the list of species that currently interest me, and have a lore/history to them that actually inspires a character for me to play. In particular, it's the peaceful nature of the species in general combined with what I feel is a very curious attitude towards unknown species and areas. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Diona are a more curious race, that spend most of their time learning new things and growing their 'collective'. They tend to emulate the traits of whatever species they 'grew up' with or have had extensive contact with. They also speak and move slowly, and tend to 'think' slower than other species due to the collective nature of their 'minds' (They're actually a collection of individual organisms that act and move as a unit as they come to decisions together). Naturally, as this diona is going to be a surgeon, this means any surgeries they perform are going to take longer to complete than if a human were to perform them. Character Name: Flowing Rivers of Blood in a Field of Battle Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Flowing Rivers of Blood in a Field of Battle started as a single Diona Nymph, without a true name, that was grown aboard a NanoTrasen medical research vessel in Tau Ceti - Canis Minor. Much of this nymph's time was spent wandering this station, observing medical practices, sometimes being a nuisance, but mostly out of the way. It had learned quick that there were rules about sanitary environments and not interrupting procedures. During the several years it spent on Canis Minor, other nymphs had been grown occasionally, and they had started to grow a small collective, observing and learning from each medical procedure that occured in their presence. Because of the way the collective of several nymphs tended to move about the station, they had earned the nickname 'Flowing River' from some of the residency staff. A few more years down the line, the collective had gathered enough nymphs to take on a humanoid form - Albeit one that was only about 4 feet tall. It was at this point that NanoTrasen decided that the Canis Minor's resident 'pet' was proving to be more of a distraction and hindrance than anything else, and they were ordered to depart the station on one of the transfer shuttles. The next several years, Flowing Rivers spent wandering Biesel, roaming from city to town to city. For a time, they wandered around Little Adhomai, finding the area curious with the high number of Tajaran in comparison to other places on the planet - It was in Little Adhomai that Flowing Rivers found their name and purpose. A fight had broken out between two different gangs, one that involved gunfire and knives, and resulted in several Tajaran being left for dead in an alleyway while the others had fled. The diona, having observed many surgeries and medical procedures, decided to try and help one of the dying Tajaran. They found a knife in the trash bin, searched for the bullet holes, and started trying to cut the bullets out. Unfortunately, the Tajaran was dead before they managed to remove the last bullet. The police arrived on scene shortly after and arrested the diona. After testimony and an autopsy showing the victim had died from a bullet puncturing his heart, they were later found to be innocent of murder and manslaughter, and released. One of the officer's casually remarked that the diona should learn proper surgery before trying to perform it in the future - Flowing Rivers took this suggestion literally, and decided their purpose would be to learn, and practice surgery. They attended a medical academy, acquiring a doctorate in medical surgery, and shortly after found themselves being recruited by NanoTrasen. Their first deployment was aboard the NSS Canis Minor, due to the collective's familiarity with the station and some of the longer term crewmembers. They worked there for four years, before being slated for transfer to the NSS Aurora during an annual review of employee assignments. What do you like about this character? They're a peaceful character, one that wouldn't have a concept of 'good people' versus 'bad people' and will try to heal anyone, regardless of who they are or what they've done. Flowing Rivers has taken the hyppocritical oath, and follows it almost religiously, the collective being of a general consensus that humans value one's word above many other things - Meaning if they say they're going to do something, it's expected they will do it. I'm aiming to play this character as a very curious person, that will spend time trying to learn about the crew when not handling medical emergencies. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7.5/10. That's a combat drone getting overly excited for Senpai out of a thermo nuclear detonation. Or something like that. Dea, I swear. You're my guardian angel. Every time. And it can be either, I don't really mind. It'd be nice if the default was the hood down, and not on the head. Alright, we'll see what the folks in charge of these applications say first. If approved I'll do some digging/experimenting and see if I can make that idea work.

Are you planning on the hood being a part of this, out of curiousity? If so (Assuming this is approved), I'd probably try to code it to work similar to a hardsuit with a helmet attached (I.e., toggle helmet verb toggles the hood being on/off and takes up the helmet slot when on), and failing that, just make the hood a separate item (Explainable ICly as a velcro or zipper removable hood). Mentioning this since Dea included sprite work with a hood as well.

There was a singularity breach, emergency shuttle was called and the DO's stood next to their shuttle waiting to leave(where'd you take that they just arrived instantly?) Yes, I shot the trooper looking after the DO, but gave no time to react? I stood still waiting, as he then took out a carbine and started tasering, luckily I still shot him down, before the DO grabbed the gun as well and set it to lethals, making me kill him as well. Also, was able to check the notes, apparently you just placed it and no questions asked, or discussed even. what? As the person who was playing the ERT escort, I don't have logs of this, but I distinctly remember things going in this order Victor Kaipov emotes pulling out his revolver and opening fire Tpr Helosi, while her carbine is still strapped to her armor, takes 2 or 3 bullets in the time it takes me to realize I'm being shot and pullet out the carbine. Helosi gets one taser round off before her head gets blown off I'm not sure what happened from there, only that it ended with the DO's head also being blown off and Kaipov being completely unharmed aside from a taser round or two. -

If this is implemented, can we include some sort of animated sprite on the door/locker being welded? It's definitely something you would notice IRL while walking past, and an animated sprite would make it obvious someone's welding it (Even if it's just a single spark pulsing on the door)
