Are you planning on the hood being a part of this, out of curiousity? If so (Assuming this is approved), I'd probably try to code it to work similar to a hardsuit with a helmet attached (I.e., toggle helmet verb toggles the hood being on/off and takes up the helmet slot when on), and failing that, just make the hood a separate item (Explainable ICly as a velcro or zipper removable hood). Mentioning this since Dea included sprite work with a hood as well.

There was a singularity breach, emergency shuttle was called and the DO's stood next to their shuttle waiting to leave(where'd you take that they just arrived instantly?) Yes, I shot the trooper looking after the DO, but gave no time to react? I stood still waiting, as he then took out a carbine and started tasering, luckily I still shot him down, before the DO grabbed the gun as well and set it to lethals, making me kill him as well. Also, was able to check the notes, apparently you just placed it and no questions asked, or discussed even. what? As the person who was playing the ERT escort, I don't have logs of this, but I distinctly remember things going in this order Victor Kaipov emotes pulling out his revolver and opening fire Tpr Helosi, while her carbine is still strapped to her armor, takes 2 or 3 bullets in the time it takes me to realize I'm being shot and pullet out the carbine. Helosi gets one taser round off before her head gets blown off I'm not sure what happened from there, only that it ended with the DO's head also being blown off and Kaipov being completely unharmed aside from a taser round or two.

If this is implemented, can we include some sort of animated sprite on the door/locker being welded? It's definitely something you would notice IRL while walking past, and an animated sprite would make it obvious someone's welding it (Even if it's just a single spark pulsing on the door)

Regarding the malf round, I feel like there's some issue with how the DO who handled that fax responsed; I believe there was an unwritten/somewhat unclarified rule for DO's about not immediately shutting down an antag or something to that effect (It's something me and Scopes touched on many months ago); I think there should be a written guideline added to how DOs handle in-round faxxes that involve antags, when the response could either make or break said antag. I'll bring this up when Skull gets to the DOs on his to-do list.

To counter this, cult is a common roundtype from secret. Meow would have no way of knowing that it's a cult roundtype from that standpoint, and maybe they want to play as another antag type (Traitor, vampire, ling, etc) so they ready up at round start. They don't have cult ticked off, but I've been told by devs that the server will select people, even if they don't have cult ticked, if there weren't enough cultists at round start.

That's a correct assumption. If the event involves or was caused by an antag, DO's can't work on it. Also, I think people need to take a different approach to when they file an incident report - I think they're better suited for continual, repeat offenses of the same nature over the course of several rounds/shifts instead of for a single offense that could have been reported and handled during the round, or for more serious incidents such as this one if it hadn't involved an antag (Albeit the death might have thrown a wrench into things as well as deaths are usually non-canon) NOTE: This is spoken as a former DO. As far as I know, the rules haven't changed for them. But if they have and I'm not aware, I could be wrong here.

Right, so, I think we should take a different approach here at this point. It's clear that people have issues with specific types of Tajaran characters. This I think actually sums up the general opinion/stereotypes on the characters as seen by other players: But here's the thing - People that are playing characters that are feeding into this problem, at this point, probably just don't realize they're a part of the problem, otherwise this wouldn't still be an issue. I'm not going to tell you guys to start calling people out and turn this into a pointing fingers game, but one way or another the people who are playing these characters need to know that they're causing problems, and what they could do to tweak their characters to fix this without having to completely retcon them or just stop playing entirely. I have a couple ideas for how to handle this but I want to run them by the staff before I potentially open a huge can of worms or overload a staff member with a ton of PMs. So, in the meantime, I'm going to volunteer myself and my characters for people to bring up any issues they may have with them in line with this thread, and if anyone else wants to volunteer themselves, go for it. For reference, my Tajaran characters: Azaela Nejem Miraj Zi'Ad Katana Silvers (Not a Tajaran, but a Tajaran shell so I may as well mention her) Kylan Lo'Rah (Formerly Kylan Hadyara) Rasine Ha'kim Zakiya Ahmad Ziva Mo'Taki Now if you /do/ have a problem with any characters, don't just name them and say 'These need to be fixed'. Explain what the problem is, try and come up with a way it can be fixed. Why? Because alot of people here won't know how to fix their characters right off the bat or even what's wrong if they didn't know they were a part of the problem in the first place.

I haven't read the other replies so I don't know if this has already been brought up here (Although it has been brought up many times before). Communication with the playerbase. Now, I'm not asking for you guys to make all of your staff sections public viewable, show everyone full logs from *say/ahelp/etc, but just a simple 'Hello, I'm XYZ and I'm looking into blorkblork with ABC' on the forums, or a simple 'Hello, looking into this' (Although the current feature of the server telling you 'XYZ will be handling your ahelp.' is sufficient for this imo, as long as we /know/ someone's there and looking into it) in response to an ahelp followed by 'handled' when it's done, regardless of what the final decision was. If you want to tell us more than that, that's up to you; Just let us /know/ you're doing something. We currently have player complaint threads that are still open, and some are reaching 2 months since the last response. There's a staff complaint thread up that has a month since it's last response and doesn't look like it was resolved, or even looked at by an admin (None have replied). That's been my biggest (And I think only) issue with the current staff, and there's been alot of people saying the staff aren't doing anything because they haven't seen or heard anything.
