My personal interpretation of 'serve your crew according to rank and role' says that if their rank/role would not allow them access, then I would be violating that law by opening the door for them, unless someone whose rank/role does have access says to do so.

It's an issue of accountability, so that a DO can't say person X said/did Y or person X can't say DO said/did Y; There's absolute proof in logs (The DO recorder saves a hard file to the server, that any DO can access read-only once the recorder is shut off in game). As for Reyjakai's issue, I feel like a good part of the 'People started complaining after I had actions against me' was because you took a 'Suspended from robotics and RD, and not allowed to use weapons' and turned it into 'They lobotimized me, now I can't talk or do anything because my combat module is actually a part of my brain and I'm gonna go to IAA for pity points and get them to start sending angry faxxes to the Duty Officers'. The original punishment had absolutely nothing to do with what you were saying was done to your character, to the best of my knowledge. (I wasn't involved in making the decision, as I was involved as the AI in that investigation). And finally, to everyone in general regarding transparency and nobody being informed, I've already poked Gollee about an issue that arose from that. This virus resulted in 8 or 9 people being dead, and out of the round, for a good hour, hour and a half (Some of them werent cloned and released until just before the shuttle was called). This virus resulted in an ERT being called, then eventually an emergency shuttle. After being arrested and while being questioned by security, he stated his intent was to infect and kill the non-human furries, and throughout his time in detainment, made comments like 'Im going to rape you' to female persons, 'Im going to murder your kids', and 'I hate furries like you', in character. I ahelped each of these issues, and barely got a response from staff (Just a k, thanks up until my last ahelp near round end, where Japak actually responded and said he'd handle it, although I see no evidence of anything actually having been done as the player wasn't banned, and he continued saying things even after that last ahelp response). Yes, the first incident was you ganking that miner on the asteroid. The second incident was about a week ago, after that, where you were a cultist in cargo. Head of personnel steps in, you wordlessly use the flash/stun talisman and start beating Azaela to death. No RP, no words, no build up. Plus, you were spending a good part of that round turning cargo into a fortress with barricades and stuff, again without any word, warning, or RP of any sort. EDIT: I actually think this might have been my head of security, Sarah Wolfe, not my HOP. Third incident? You're a vampire, Zaki is in the cargo lobby waiting for gloves. Suddenly he's hit by a syringe that I'm assuming had sleep toxin, dragged into the cargo warehouse and, wait for it.. Killed by you without any word, warning, or RP. And to top it off? His body was stuffed in a locker and thrown into space where nobody would ever find it. You see a pattern here?

This is the person who plays as Cash? If so, there's several incidents of powergaming/gank that has been ahelped by myself and others in the past about his character; It's gotten to where if I see him online in cargo, I will outright avoid the cargo department to avoid dealing with another round of being powerganked.

I vaguely recall a suggestion awhile back to call them 'Custodial Engineers', although that was a part of a suggestion to make janitors part of the engineering department

Just to clarify: Is this going to be using a custom sprite or just the sprite of a pink screwdriver with a custom name?

I'd personally suggest using a regular charger instead of a heavy duty charger. Why should mining get better chargers than engineering and security get?

Hm, while I know this would require additional coding, a possible longer- term idea could be to have persons with both whitelists able to trade their tradeband+1 other language for a race specific language. (I.e., instead of having Tradeband and being able to select Gutter or Sign, you can have Siik'maas)
