  1. You win the prize for being Hispanic and being unable to speak your ethnic language. Welcome to the club. I literally only learned any inkling of speaking Spanish when I was in high school and a shriveled old white lady with terrible pronunciation taught it.
  2. It's n-not like I like you or a-anything, B-Baka!
  3. On the drive home from work today, I got real existential. This was after overhearing the conversation of two coworkers discussing the state of society and their uncertainties for the future. And so I started to think, and think, and think, and think, until I arrived at something resembling a conclusion. The universe is based on paradoxes. Everything one sees and hears and feels and touches and thinks is a paradox, in and of itself. The only certainties are the uncertainties. This is nothing new, and most likely has been said tens of thousands of times before, but the important thing to me was that the belief in the paradoxical nature of the universe is why I am always hopeful for the future. Because to me, a paradox represents possibility, and possibility means the potential for conscious choice, and choice is the reason for existence. I could go on and on for paragraphs regarding my inner monologue on the hour I spent in traffic on the way home, and the arguments I brought up and refuted, the points and counterpoints, the topics I strayed into from tangents, etc. Rather, I'm just going to leave it at my paradox/possibility thing and pose the question to you guys. I'd like to know your views on the nature of the world/humanity/nature/past/present/future/self, and how you apply these sorts of thoughts and musings to your everyday life, and maybe more. Because why not?
  4. Janet scored a 365, one snowflake for every day of the year. She got boosted by a 200-pointer, and with y'all knowing me, I think you can guess where it came from... hue... Also, there should be a field asking if your character developed any groundbreaking technologies *coughflashclonednukeopscough*
  5. Earth is actually the most densely populated planet in inhabited space. Around 20 billion people in total. About 50% of the population. Your colonies are going to need their populations to be a lot lower than that.
  6. Hitting water at terminal velocity is no different from hitting pavement. Benevolent Cucumberpatch would go splat. Also, from what I understand, this show operates on logic invented by idiots, based on what they believe geniuses to be like, instead of how geniuses actually think.
  7. Question from planet person here. What is the population that you want stuck into this system? Because Coruscant-levels of development would only really be seen in the inner systems, particularly Earth. And even then, Earth doesn't have Coruscant levels of development itself.
  8. Wow. Seven pages of people being depressed, being existential, and for lack of a better phrase, bitching and moaning. I think the issue is that people are considering the game to be the main thing everyone's here for. Maybe they are, but as for me, I spend much, much more time on the forums than I do in spess steshun. Because I come here for the community. Spess may be a core aspect of this community, but I'd like to think that it's more than that, and that even if everyone lost interest in playing 2D space mans, that the community of Aurora itself could still find life in another medium or game. I like talking to you people, seeing what you think about things, weighing in on issues brought up, etc etc. The game changes, the players change, but there's still a community here.
  9. This already exists in the lore though we haven't get gone through the process of adding it in its entirety to the wiki yet.
  10. It would be nice if the sec hud icons for security peeps got recolored. I'm finding it difficult to pick out the dull shades of blue from every other dull shade of blue now present in the department.
  11. Soy medio-Peruano, y hablo un poco de español, pero he olvidado la mayoría de ella. Carajo. Also it sucks when typing it because I have to google the letters with the accents just so I can copy paste individual one because I can't remember the goddamn hex codes for them.
  12. Rusty knows a wide variety of dialects that allows him to efficiently communicate with the many peoples of the world via the spoken word. English: oi, wut r u lookin at m8, ur a cheeky lil cunt ill give u that m8, ill hook ya in da gabba i swear on me mum Spanish: Chinga tu madre, puto malcreado! French: Omelette du fromage. Italian:
  13. I'm just going to build more giant penis monuments.
  14. I started watching Ghost in the Shell today. And suddenly I'm starting to feel really hype over the prospect of this being a thing.
  15. 0/10 soundcloud there but no fire mixtape in sight
  16. EVERYTHING HYPE IN THE WORLD IS HAPPENING ALL AT ONCE SHIT GOT FUNDED IN 40 MINUTES
  17. This isn't IRL, though. Gravitons and gravity generators means the ability to create artificial gravity without revolving sections.
  18. I work at a state college. I've never actually attended anything beyond high school, though.
  19. Oh. Because it'd be practically impossible to colonize Luna despite its proximity. Whatwith constant meteor bombardment, a complete and total lack of an atmosphere, soil that's basically ground up glass, and massive amounts of cosmic radiation. Honestly, it'd be more realistic to colonize a planet like Mars than Luna. And probably more useful in the long run, too.
  20. It is on the wiki already. http://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Earth#Luna
  21. Luna has the population of modern day UK. It's also a major transportation hub. It has underground cities. If more info is wanted, ask Jackboot. He did the stuff for it.
  22. I'd still be of the opinion that since Mars would be easier to colonize, it would come first. Venus would be colonized quite a bit later.
  23. It still might prove more trouble than it's worth, and much more expensive too. Besides, lower gravity allows for an easier time getting into orbit. 40% Earth gravity is actually a positive attribute towards Mars.
  24. Not being able to spend more than a few hours on the surface, let alone the months and years required to carry out a mining operation, serves as a good deterrent. All resources would have to be transported from off-world.
