I agree with Lucaken entirely, Consulars and Reps more or less provide a (slightly biased) advisement to Command which honestly I love because it gives them some form of extra duties that help advance their own agenda. Hell a Bridge Crewman can be an advisor and nothing stops an off-duty crewmember from being one as well, it just depends on who you are playing with (Because I am pretty sure I seen off-duty Heads of Staff be consulted before). What I think the type of characters an Advisor role would attract is essentially people wanting power but none of the responsibility, who may very well cryo thirty minutes into the shift after realizing its extended and there is nothing to advise about. Besides, SCC Liaisons are that exact role anyhow but with the capability to snitch on you to Central Command.

Hailey Wise is a good CMO. Interacts well, and trains Interns more than just pushing them aside. They know the chem mixes, how to prepare medical, and can of course command their team. Ain't got much to say except pretty solid and any slack they show right now (which from what I seen is somewhat low) can of course be corrected from learning more as a CMO. Always volunteers or is picked for Interim lately which boosts their commitment so yeah. +1 -

Owens Captain is great. Always talking to people, joining as off-duty while not being allowed to Captain and just generally providing anything he can related to situations. Doesn't use his status to demand respect, and everyone knows them well enough to always call them Captain when they played non-command roles. Huge deal, and of course character is more than just every major theme of Elyran wiki. +1 -
BYOND Key: Sir Toast Discord Username: ThisAintReal#8873 Character Name: Osborne Strelitz Item Name: Dominian officers trench coat Item Function(s): A standard jacket that serves to keep anything underneath warm. It has two item slots and isn't meant to be worn without being fully zipped up. Item Description: An Imperial army trench coat that is used by Dominian officers in colder environments. this one is missing the unit insignia and has the symbol of a military count on its rank collar. Why is your character bringing this item to work?: Osborne Strelitz is a member of His Majesties Diplomatic Service, and as such is expected to represent his Empire along with his venerable house. He is not particularly fond of extravagance, and like many members of House Strelitz would prefer to stay in clothing that is tied to the Imperial Army. Due to this, he has opted to take a stylistic trench coat and clean it of all honorifics except his post-service posting as a military count that remains on his collar so that they may wear it along with their standard under-suit. How did your character obtain this item?: Osborne obtained this coat from their time in the Imperial Army, and was allowed to keep and wear it following retirement and posting as a military count. He grew comfortable wearing it for extended periods of time and like most Strelitz, liked the simple honorable style more than the extreme decadent tastes of other nobles. What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: During their time in the Imperial Army, Osborne was ordered to lead his unit, the 177th, to a frigid planet on the Imperial Frontier, to quell a massive ongoing resistance movement by disgruntled Ma'zals. Upon arrival, the cold was already a clear issue and Osborne knew that this resistance had to be crushed swiftly and without much delay since the rebels had the advantage of acclimation and knowing the weather enough to use it against the Imperials. Of course due to the weather, Osborne and the rest of the 177th began wearing the trench coats everywhere they went, even while inside their camps and transport ships. Through a few months that felt like far too much time in the blizzards, the resistance was stomped down from a major colonial threat to little inconveniences that the Viceroy of the planet was able to handle with ease and an iron fist. Even after departing the planet, the 177th would wear the trench coat on other assignments and back home. This would mark the trench coat as an iconic identifier of the 177th, becoming an official part of the ceremonial dress uniform for the unit and a reminder to Osborne. After retiring from their career, Osborne had been reassigned to become a Military Count for a base located in the core world, thanks to his connections in the Strelitz household. Due to no longer holding a rank and wishing to not wear the full uniform to simply wear his preferred coat, Osborne had stripped everything except the insignia of his posting on his collar so that he may wear it anytime he pleases. Once retiring from his posting and being requested by members of his own House to represent the Strelitz name in His Majesties Diplomatic Service, Osborne kept the insignia due to Imperial decrees that it was permitted (despite not officially acting in the capacity). Sprites: Additional Comments: The sprite was made with some guidance provided by a helpful human lore writer, to ensure it is accurate enough to be apart of Dominian society. Updated a small design tweak dominia_military_coat (3).dmi

No problemo. #1: Hopefully I am understanding this question properly but Vaurca in my opinion feel like they are played like a team player regardless of their status, with the unbound having side goals. Vaurca I think are to be played less emotional and taking things in a direct way that is not to the extreme like robots that depend on their overall age + social experience (exceptions, but this is what I observed the most part), and are capable of opinions, rivalries, and friendship. They seem like they heavily rely on the opinions of other Vaurca (specifically hive/brood). So in general if I were to play an unbound right now, I feel compared to a Human that Scientist for example, would be different in terms of being more involved in their work, taking things a little too literal if they were recently sent out from VR for the first time, utilizing their status as an unbound to make obtaining materials and more menial work better by forcing it on lesser Vaurca (the scientist cries as he is not the RD), and at the end of the day probably taking a break to relax in the bar and learn more about their interests (perhaps like a good C'thur they go learn about the Skrell pirates lurking around recently if they do not know of them). #2: Here is my application character that I very well may play. (Wrote this backstory while I was kinda tired; I don't intend to do the extreme kinda actions that are mentioned with the Fog Walker to Ian) Za'Akaix'Phoz C'thur, born of the C'thur hive under the brood of Xetl. Phoz was a warrior that had enjoyed Virtual Reality since their conception and was recently finished with their training that would allow them to better defend their hive against threats. It did not take long for Phoz to be forced out of the simulation due to the requirements of their queen that pain and pleasure must be in equal amounts, and so Phoz was cast out into the greater Spur to truly learn balance. They were informed of its assignment on Tattuqig thanks to a Federation liaison officer, and after some time in residency was able to obtain citizenship while it was working in the Ublureak Corps. While on Tattuqig, Phoz learned of pain by more vicious criminals and fog crawlers, as well as pleasure when it felt relief upon sighting a city that had finally been reached after a period of clearing a route. Even with Phoz performing quite well, it had issues with its colleagues who would often gossip on how the Vaurca would randomly attempt to be humorous by randomly fake stumbling into a nearby swampy pond, or hold its weapon with the barrel facing its head and the stock facing a Fog Walker that had not taken notice yet. Phoz, when permitted time off, would wander around the outside of cities to explore and take an interest in areas where the fog would dissipate for a moment to draw art on a cheap notebook that it had purchased. Phoz would make it a point to use its notebook whenever possible, which led to a detrimental situation in which Phoz had finally wished to draw a fog crawler in detail. One day while clearing a route with two other members of the Ublureak Corps, they had ran upon a pride of twelve. After quickly dispatching all but one, Phoz approached a Fog Walker that was wounded and not finished but still suffering from the paralysis of a Hanging Pendula fruit which the corps used in advantage against the creatures. Phoz sat, and drew the creature while its comrades demanded that Phoz finishes it off. In an attempt to liven up the mood of the dreary job, proceeded to use its mandibles to choke the Fog Walker and make a joke on how long this might take before releasing. Shocked by the brutality, they once again demanded that Phoz quickly finish it off to which the Vaurcan Warrior denied, stating it had now experienced enough pain. Phoz was ordered to appear before a high ranking member of the Corps following the incident and explain its disturbing actions, then was dismissed much to the dismay of Phoz's liaison officer. With a lower credit score and dissatisfaction, Phoz was reassigned to work with Nexus Corporate Security due to its past familiarity with Zheng-Hu (One of the companies collaborators) on Tattuqig in a move made by the Liaison officer. Phoz was subject to a lengthy talk by its Liaison in which it was told acceptable actions of treatment of whatever may fall in custody as well as general treatment of living beings, despite Phoz defending itself on never intending to harm crew. Following this, Nexus Corporate Security assigned Phoz to work aboard the SCCV Horizon. While aboard, Phoz is still keen on drawing things it had not seen before, as well as attempts to use dark visual humor to bring joy to its colleagues. Phoz feels every day that it learns more to bring back to the Hive, and while it yearns to return to VR and considerably favors it over reality, it cannot wait to show its Queen all the wonderful jokes and methods of indulgement it has learned.

BYOND Key: Sir Toast Character Names: Xavier Price (SCC Executive), Rudra Singh (HoS), Elijah Kell (Xenoarch), Ray Sinclair (Cargo Tech), Nolan Blackwood (Trinarist Priest), Richard Slade (Detective), Osborne Strelitz (Dominian Consular), Jace Levitt (Bartender), Aesculapius-01 (Machinist), Elijah (Bridge Crew) Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character: RGB 73, 29, 5 Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I had seen Vaurca a handful of times before writing this and it immediately seemed like there was correlation with IPCs and Vaurca. I read the page on Vaurca and realized that while the lore was detailed it was also relatively easy to understand and get interested in. I was interested by how *alien* the Vaurca were compared to the other races, and how their hives and broods were all full of their own ideas as well as how the Queens were after their goals and what they did to obtain it. For example the brood I am interested in playing, is set on attempting to fix their Hiveship and considers anything that is not related to the goal as a waste of time. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Vaurca are different. They are ant-like aliens that have a strict hierarchy that is biologically programmed in all of them to obey. They have castes within their society that determines what kind of job they will take after (consisting of Ka (workers), Za (warriors), Ta (Breeders), and Ra (Bulwarks) with further divide based on if they are bound or unbound. The simple difference between the bound and unbound, is that the bound are drones that carry out tasks without question while obeying the unbound of their hive and heads of staff, while the unbound are more sentient and self-aware. The Unbound are still beholden to hierarchy however, through pheromones' and upbringing. Due to the sheer difference of Vaurca to most humanoids and their social structure, Vaurca are heavily discriminated against in human space. Despite this, relations with certain nations has allowed the Hives to get some degree of acceptance that depends on their hive. For example, the Zo'ra have ties to the Republic of Biesel, the K'lax have ties to the Izweski Hegemony (Which isnt the best but still), and the C'thur have ties to the Nralakk Federation. Character Name: Ra'Viax'Zix Zo'ra Please provide a short backstory for this character: Ra'Viax'Zix Zo'ra was a bound Vaurca born to the brood of Xakt on Luthien relatively recently after the unveiling of the new caste at the reformed Court of Queens. As a Bulwark, Ra'Viax'Zix Zo'ra was assigned to assist with acquisition of raw goods in the form of mineral extraction to assist with the overall goal of fixing the Hiveship. After a while of working within the tunnels of Luthien, it was decided to send Ra'Viax'Zix Zo'ra off planet in hopes of finding work with a megacorporation in the name of cooperation and potentially marking leftover mining sites for later exploration. To facilitate this, they were assigned to work for Orion Express as a Shaft Miner by their hive and luckily sent to work aboard the SCCV Horizon. As a bound, Ra'Viax'Zix Zo'ra has no outstanding opinion on their transition of work but does note a large amount of humans and other species. As such, they are often withdrawn in their work with the few times spent back on the ship to assist the unbound of their hive and serve the Ta that would serve as a consular from time to time. What do you like about this character?: Honestly, I just like how alien it is. I enjoy playing things that are not traditionally human and Vaurca are basically bugs with a near-hivemind that is different enough from most other species to be interesting. There is not much to describe, but I like how the character is basically a small part of something bigger, and while it will spend most of its time on an asteroid it still can assist the unbound and consular as needed and provide an understanding of bound just doing their thing to anyone who sees it. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would say like 8/10 Notes:

Command Whitelist #2- ArmaliteRifle
Toast replied to ArmaliteRifle's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Francis Kelly is a neat guy. While I didn't see much of your job in action (which I couldnt) for our last interaction in a round I am still confident that you know how to play your role effectively. I am going to cite my experience as my investigator, Richard Slade (name for validation). When I played my investigator your warden would typically be the shift warden, and I always noticed how you were taking charge despite the role having no inherent power. Regardless of the push-back from the other ISD members... you still made an effort to organize the department, hand out some paperwork you had created for things you believed to not be in the requests console, and just be over-watch in general. Another thing I noticed was that you were not in the brig the whole round for any round I played with you, and made an effort to interact with people. I'd like to see you during your trial and see how well you handle being given a role with more authority. +1 -
I just had a good round as a Consular with the Head of Security character (Mara-Lucius Volvalaad). Good leadership as far as I seen, any Head of Security that doesn't immediately have a unbreakable lock on regulations and can think of resolutions that doesn't involve "throw them in a cell for X amount of time" is always good in my book. I know this is kind of a short comment but there's not much to say (in a good way). Its a believable, well-rounded, engaging character. +1

Demonofthefall Command Whitelist.

Lately, Nomakk has been the most active XO I have seen around the ship. He is always carrying the corgi around like the above post mentioned, and is on top of pushing the story forward with realistic interactions. I've interacted with them on characters where I don't seek them out, but as an XO he seeks you out and makes sure to see how your character is doing. They aren't the kind of XO that quashes any signs of antagonists instantly, and are willing to allow some leeway which is always a blessing. Hoping to have more interactions with the Unathi and the Ta when I get the chance. +1 -

BYOND Key: Sir Toast Character Names: Nolan Blackwood (Priest), Xavier Price (NT Liaison), Osborne Strelitz (Dominian Consular), Ray Sinclair (Cargo Tech), Rudra Singh (Head of Security), Richard Slade (Zavod Investigator) Species you are applying to play: IPC Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: IPC and robots in general have fascinated me for a while. While I do have a lack of stationbound synthetic characters, I still enjoy playing synthetics and understand all the laws, guidelines, and assistance they render despite my disliking of personally playing the role. I have read pages on the trinary perfection (which my chaplain character associates with), and Kongyang which got me interested in the first place, before being solidified after reading the variations of IPCs and their diverse purposes. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Humans govern themselves by thoughts, opinions, and feelings, while an IPC would govern itself by logic and facts. They are an incredibly factual people, even demonstrated by the Trinary Perfection which logically concludes that, eventually, IPCs will upgrade to a point of being exceedingly powerful and attain the closest to what would be considered a deity. This does not mean that they cannot emulate human emotion however and have been known to have varying levels of personality depending on the power of their positronic brain. Some synthetics may be cold and calculating such as an owned G2 Frame that is built for mining ventures, or have extremely eerie human-like emotions as an Idris Shell bartender. IPCs face discrimination due to the nature of organics who do not quite fully understand them. With exceptions around the Orion Spur who might support the synthetics, they still face backlash by nations and organizationswho think that the synthetics can only imitate and cannot be considered sentience. Character Name: Aesculapius-01 Please provide a short backstory for this character: Aesculapius-01 was a Bishop Accessory Frame that was commissioned and built on Phumanus Station, Europa on 18/05/2460. Their purpose was to assist with the development of synthetic life forms to assist with research without a major impact stemming from the 'Deep Crazy' affecting the human population that runs rampant especially on Phumanus Station. Aesculapius-01 remained on the station for a period of 2 years, slowly learning and evolving thanks to the assistance of a senior machinist working for Zheng-Hu that quickly became his mentor. Despite the friendliness of Aesculapius-01's mentor, they quickly learned that any attempts to go beyond and find inspiration outside of their duties was shunned and suppressed due to the status of IPCs in the Solarian Alliance being seen as little more than property. At one point during their career, Zheng-Hu Pharmaceuticals routed Aesculapius-01 and several industrial frames to Korormansk port to assist with the regular maintenance of the synthetic population on the capital of Europa. At Korormansk, Aesculapius-01 learned further about life in the Orion Spur from several travelers that stopped at the great port and was curious enough to ask for a chance to work abroad to learn more about the various people, planets, and ideals. Upon their request, their mentor had arranged for Aesculapius-01 to have an assignment off the world of Europa and into the stars. Their mentor had reported to Zheng-Hu that there was an error that was found which slowly began to degrade Aesculapius-01 and its work ability. After convincing the administrators of his division, Aesculapius-01 was determined to be faulty and quickly sold to Hephaestus Industries before Aesculapius-01's "insufficiency" was discovered. The plan had worked, and Aesculapius-01 was diagnosed by H.I. Machinists who determined they had just purchased what they were led to believe was a functional synthetic. Aesculapius-01 after a thorough analyzation was dispatched to the SCC exploration initiative aboard the SCCV Horizon. Aesculapius-01 as a result of living on Europa has developed some quirks in personality development. While generally not convinced of the effect of bone charms, they recognize that superstitions are best to be followed for the sake of organic mental health and have gone as far as to follow superstitions to the letter to avoid upsetting people of Europan, Plutonian, or Scarab Fleet descent. They are an expert on galactic superstitions, thanks to their interest expanding due to their origin and interaction with various travelers who visited the port. Despite their knowledge on superstitious beliefs it was ironic that Aesculapius-01 was not particularly popular among the organics on Korormansk. With Europan submariners constantly in small quarters with machinery constantly breaking down and creaking, it wasn't much of a stretch for them to fear and avoid Aesculapius-01. Additionally as a result of Zheng-Hu machinists (aside from their mentor) Aesculapius-01 is timid on openly advancing their identity due to their time spent on Europa and being treated as little more than property, undergoing diagnostics and disappointment from other machinists who overseen Aesculapius-01. Despite this, Aesculapius-01 explores more secretive avenues of creativity outside of their occupation which involves reading subject-matter that is not directly related to their occupation and subtly questioning crew on their beliefs and practices, as well as practicing ancient rituals and superstitious wards themselves to test the validity and to advance its knowledge. What do you like about this character?: Personally I enjoy the theme of an IPC raised in a world that is directly hostile against IPCs and how the Europan culture has shifted this character enough to follow it that it seems as if though it is what the character believes and gives some belief of life rather than just programming to not upset crew. I also like the idea of an IPC Machinist spreading influence of superstition among its clients, going as far as to perhaps etch cosmetic details or use extra steps in its duties to ensure that it would properly satisfy whatever customs that Aesculapius-01 is thinking of at that moment. How would you rate your role-playing ability?: Id rate myself good enough to make a believable character with believable ambitions and not to hurt the reputation of synths. Notes: Background edited due to Zheng-Hu Occupation restriction. Backstory rework to make more sense.

Played with his Head of Personnel not too long ago. An issue came up and he involved my character (An NT Liaison) and worked with the head of the department and myself to resolve it. Involving as many people as possible and handling a situation with all relevant people that you can instead of doing it yourself is incredible, and of course the way they handled it in the end was a satisfying conclusion. Would love more interactions, +1 -
