That's entirely fair. If I were to give him the promotion, I'd 100% retool him to keep the unlikeable aspect while not being as openly hostile. Wouldn't make sense for him to retain that piece if he was trying to keep his position.

But do we need to make smoking a whole roleplay thing? Like, does there have to be reasons why and when a character smokes? Like, I've already had smoking based RPs under the current system, so I'm sure we need this.

Last I remember, the Phoron shortage has caused the Sol Alliance to damn near collapse. The shortage has led the biggest corporations in human space (minus those bastards at Einstein Engines) to create a sort of zaibatsu to charter and supervise a research flight out across space in search of phoron and various other precious resources. Clearly, if the corporations are setting up a whole ass ship with (almost) permanent residents, that’s going to lead to new positions that need filling and more command to supervise their efforts. It also means them shifting to new corporations, and in the case of heads of staff, directly working as part of the zaibatsu instead of whichever company they were originally a contractor for. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Realistically, I’d like to get to the point where I could be in any position, but the more immediate choice would be to play Executive Officer since that job has always been something I’ve been interested in since the beginning, and my original main was service, after all. Considering that I spend a decent amount of rounds shirtless at first because I didn't realize that I forgot a shirt, I'd support this.

My thought process was since they're pretty thing-like, I'd imagine their anatomy could split out tendrils or something to cling to stuff above them.

Pretty basic thing, but I think it'd be a fun thing that would allow lings to escape from encounters in a different way, or perhaps set up ambushes from below. Further thought: Allow vaurca to do it too, as if they're skittering up the walls to get there.

You want your character to have a greying, dad like look, but can't find get gradients to work for you? Try the Sellout Hair and Dad Beard! Want to look like a Lieutenant double-yefreitor? Try the Mullet and Muttonstache, Trimmed (Shadow)! Wanna look like a trailer trash biker? Try the Mullet, Short Undercut and Animal Beard! Want a bit of a weird old man look? Try the Mullet, Balding, and Muttonstache, Trimmed! Maybe you want a more punk look? Try the Rat Tail, Thick and Desperado mustache! Is your character a little less lily-white? Try the Short Locs, or it's variant the Short Locs, Fade (Which pairs well with the Cambion Beard!) Want to look quintessentially communist or completely capitalist? Try the Comandante beard and Monopoly Mustache! Maybe facial tattoos are more your thing? Try the Tribal and Warrior face tattoos! The issue I have is that calling for a total removal instead of figuring out how to fix it isn't the way to go. If your concern is "Columbo is biting people randomly" or "Ian is ugly" then why is the first answer to delete it?

Absolutely not. People actually really like the pets, it doesn't matter if you think it doesn't add to the game. Like, I've never seen a round when the CE lets Ginny out where people aren't in love with having her around or wanting to take care of her. Regardless, to actually address your reasons: Columbo is genuinely broken Then fix him, or suggest for someone else to do it. Ginny is hostile wildlife This is a trope that is absurdly common in fiction where people keep otherwise hostile creatures as pets. She's a baby who's being cared for by humans. This is a thing that happens in actual life with otherwise hostile animals. Foxes are not pets They literally can be in the modern day, let alone in the future. Ian is ugly I say again, fix him or get someone else to do it. They are constantly killed by airlocks Then make the doors recognize simple mobs so it doesn't crush them if you have such an issue with it. or minor changes in the atmosphere So what? Animals usually aren't super receptive to the air getting sucked out of a location, even briefly. or being clicked with the wrong item. Brother, I've stabbed people on accident by clicking wrong. That's not an issue of pets, that's just a common issue. Is it really too immersion breaking to have them here? Are they really so commonly annoying that it ruins rounds? You don't have to like every feature, but to get rid of them entirely based entirely on your minority opinion would just suck.

I'm not sure about this. Someone who has the power to arrest people and is generally a figure of authority shouldn't be difficult to identify. Even with badges, it'd be a bit difficult to identify them. As far of the argument that it's unfair, that's being a security guard. We're an HRP server and we're supposed to be running with an air of realism, and if you worked as a police officer or security guard, you'd have to wear some sort of uniform. Construction workers, doctors, bartenders, etc. aren't as constricted, and that's reflected in current regs.

Theres no reason why while booking someone, I should know they're trying to escape. I'm in the other room, on a terminal. It kind of ruins any potential surprise escape and can turn a difficult to get through situation into an impossible one if the sec in question is anywhere on your screen. +1
