  1. Hello. First of all, this is an amazing app. I really love how in-depth you've gone and you seem to have a very solid understanding of Vaurca lore. However, you seem to have a (minor) misunderstanding of how resleeving works. It's basically a personal decision; each Vaurca decides whether or not they want to return to the corporeal world. The only exception are the Warriors that Queen Tupii basically forced to resleeve them. Because your character is young, it might be a better idea to focus on the more traumatic aspects of the resleeving. Anyways, this app is acepted.
  2. Congratulations, and welcome to the lore team as a Vaurca deputy.
  3. This was a very hard decision, but unfortunately, I decided to move forward with another candidate. I hope you're still willing to continue contributing to Vaurca lore through PRs and lore applications.
  4. This was a really close call, but unfortunately, I decided to move forward with another candidate. Don't feel discouraged, though. I believe you're a great asset to have in lore and I'll support you were you to apply for any future lore positions.
  5. At the moment, I've decided to deny the application. You seem to still be missing the essence of how Vaurcae work. However, I believe you have potential. You can reapply in three days. In the meantime, you can message me or my deputies about any questions you have, approach players in game and learn about Vaurca characters ICly, or simply ask your questions at the lore Discord. And, if you wish to reapply, you can message me as soon as possible so I don't leave you hanging again. I'm really sorry about that.
  6. Hi. First of all, sorry for the delay—didn't notice this was a Vaurca app until I saw the flair. As LaVilla said, this application is (originally) too short. However, I've made you wait long enough to ask you to rewrite it fully. You can expand it on here. I think your answers to LaVilla's questions are an improvement, but there are some issues I'm still noticing. Mainly, you seem to be still confused a bit with how much autonomy a Vaurca has. Also, while I like your K'lax answer, it's just a summary of the wiki pages. We don't really want that! What we're really looking for is that, in your words, you seem to grasp the concepts of a specific species. So, let's try again. Here are some questions that I want you to answer in your own words. 1. How do you picture a day in the life of a Vaurca? What do you think they do for fun, or when they get back home? How do you think they talk with their Ta or with their peers? 2. How do you think a Vaurca Worker would react to the following scenario: Two people in their Operations get into a beef, leading to physical punches. One of them accidentally trips and drops a box full of miscellaneous stuff, and glass breaks. 3. How do you think the hiring process of a Vaurca works? Again, in your own words. This is stuff that's not explicit on the wiki, but that you can answer properly if you have a good grasp on Vaurca lore.
  7. Hello. Sorry for the delay. I've noticed you've kept updating your application, and I think it's fairly good. However, I'm still concerned about how you keep spelling "Vacura." This is a fairly common mistake, but please remember the species is named Vaurca. That is very important if you want to play the species. However, I know that denying this app for only that mistake would be very petty. This application is accepted.
  8. This application is denied. Please read the updated Vaurca lore. You may reapply in a week.
  9. Sorry for the delay, but Wigglesworth sent me his answers as he currently can't log in to the forums:
  10. Thank you for applying for Vaurca lore deputy. I'm still making my choice and, in order to be more informed about each candidate, I have some questions to ask you: 1. Do you have any big proposals for lore? What would you like to change or steer in a different direction? Anything works. 2. You've talked about Eldritch horror on this app, and while body horror is something we like in the team, we still try to keep it balanced. You mention the trophallaxis and that's an aspect that I included because it helps balance the Vaurcae between this super-advanced society while also disgusting and "primitive" in some intimate aspects. What do you think of this balance? Would you do things differently yourself? 3. If you could write a complete wiki article yourself on Vaurca lore, what would it be about?
  11. Thank you for applying for Vaurca lore deputy. I'm still making my choice and, in order to be more informed about each candidate, I have some questions to ask you: 1. Beyond the Lii'dra, what would you like to rework or retcon in Vaurca lore? You're probably the applicant with more years on the server, and I'm sure you've seen Vaurca lore change a lot in the past few years. Are there any other areas you think can still be improved? Any plotholes you've considered? 2. You've talked about religion. That's always been somewhat tricky to me because it vastly differs between broods and even hive-cells. Do you like the idea of how Vaurca religion works right now? Or do you find it troublesome that a species so controlling and organized is pretty laissez faire when it comes to faith? 3. If you could write a complete wiki article yourself on Vaurca lore, what would it be about?
  12. Thank you for applying for Vaurca lore deputy. I'm still making my choice and, in order to be more informed about each candidate, I have some questions to ask you: 1. What are your ideas for Zo'ra? Specifically, taking into consideration that the phoron scarcity causes new dynamics between Biesel and the Hive. 2. A big problem with Vaurca tech is that, if we were to implement them as they're in lore (or where), then the species would become too OP. I've been trying to have the Vaurcae be more well-rounded and balanced, but do you have any ideas on how to avoid over-the-top tech or work with some wackier aspects of Vaurca tech? 3. If you could write a complete wiki article yourself on Vaurca lore, what would it be about?
  13. This suggestion is accepted with some modifications. We will continue to discuss in DMs how to implement the new sprites and how to expand the wiki lore.
  14. I've taken this suggestion for the new Vaurca biology page I'm making. However, we're not retiring the term "Breeder." The caste is still Breeder, it's just that the female Breeders (the ones seen on station) are known as Gynes. This will all be better explained soon in wiki updates. No PRs to change the name are required at the moment.
  15. Hi. This is a great application; we're all in for expanding this faction. I've actually had a lot of trouble thinking of ways to make it work better and I think you've nailed it. This application is accepted. However, there are some things we'd like to change. Mainly, we believe the isolation aspect of the original Lost of the Traverse is important—it creates a dynamic unseen with other Vaurca factions and it also has a very interested Lord of the Flies kind of setting, which is also unique in a species so interconnected. @Connorjg1 will message you about other details we may want to change or fluff; you're free to add more input while we move this to the wiki.
  16. We have one spot available in the Vaurca team. Alongside the standard developer application, please include your current perspective on Vaurca lore and a plan to expand on it.
  17. I don't want to reject this application again, as I believe you have put in much effort and learned more about the species since your past attempts. However, besides the Hive's name being Zo'ra (lowercase R) and not Zo'Ra, I need you to understand something first. Vaurcae have a purpose, and a Warrior or Worker, especially Unbound, is not made just cause. This means that, if a younger Vaurca, none of the broods would've just made more Warriors simply to idle in Flagsdale, a slum meant to contain mainly unemployed or disgraced Vaurcae. This leads to two possibilities. Tek was created after arriving in Biesel: a Warrior of Zoleth, to end up in Mendell like that would've likely been made to patrol the district, especially since it has been a gang hotspot and police can't really enter because it's highly dangerous. An idea is to make your character part of some sort of proto-Phalanx vigilante group led by Zoleth. While these groups do not exist in lore per se, she has taken action to supervise the area and the Vaurca lore team would have no problems with this background. Tek was created before arriving in Biesel: in this case, your character would've suffered the fate of many stranded in Flagsdale--jobless and not finding a way to fit in the human economy. This is also possible and likely that its Breeder would've found Tek a job by now to be productive. Please take any of these two examples, or maybe come up with another equally plausible option as well, and incorporate them into your character's backstory.
  18. Sorry for the delay. I wanted to discuss it with my team first. I think you have a good grasp of Vaurca lore, much better than your previous application, but some things still remain odd. For example, when I asked your character's age and purpose, it was exactly because Vaurcae are designed after a purpose. Overall, I think you've done much better, but I still think you would benefit from reading more and asking some questions. Don't be afraid to reach out to my team on discord or visit the Vaurca channels at the lorecord. That said, I'm denying this application for now. You can reapply in three days.
