  1. Hey, sorry for the delay. Been busy this weekend. I like the concept. However, I'd like to see how you incorporate the more Xetl-specific traits. What does Zak think of the Sensate? Has Zak interacted with humans before? How does it feel to leave Jargon space?
  2. Thanks for applying and sorry for the late reply. I'll make a few questions. 1. How does Teox feel about Zeng-Hu and their corporate values? 2. Was it too much of a shock to interact with species other than human and Skrell? 3. Does Teox have an opinion in the recent developments of the C'thur-Jargon relationships, as well as the slow recovery of its queen?
  3. Looks good overall, but I do have a few questions. 1. Could you explain rather what makes it unique to play as a Vaurca? Your reply was too long and quoted much of the wiki; while we expect you to read it, we would like to hear it with your own words. Just something simple, what do you think you'd find unique (not mechanically) when playing a Vaurca character. 2. The chaplain position is a weird one in a way because it's hard to see how it fits in-world —do they just get contracts or is it more or a one-time freelance position? Regardless of that, why did Dilia move to Phoenixport? Does it currently live there? 3. Just a heads up, I know the wiki refers to the Preimminence deity as God or Goddess, but it's probably better to say “Goddess” as basically every other Vaurca divinity is female. Quick Preimminence question, though: How does Dilia feel about the mixed opinion that's still had by some regarding the Preimminence?
  4. Thanks for applying. I understand your sentiment, it's sometimes a bit hard to come up with a full character concept when dealing with Vaurcae, especially since many of us like to play younger ones with little personal history. That being said, I really like your concept. 1. Will Xepp be a machinist/roboticist? Just to clarify. 2. What does Xepp think about the other two Hives? 3. Does it follow a religion? 4. The recent lore events have made the C'thur hive take somewhat of a fall in public image. As a result, it's become more evident they rely on Jargon more than ever before. How has all of this affected Xepp?
  5. Hey, thanks for applying. I like your enthusiasm and will ask a few questions just to expand on the character. 1. What job would Sotis take? 2. What does Sotis think about Skrell? How much did it interact with them before leaving the Federation? 3. Does Sotis follow a religion? 4. What are its thoughts on the other hives, especially after what happened with the whole Bulwark ordeal?
  6. I really dislike this. The game is already really dark. The changes made to the lighting like a year ago didn't take into consideration any rooms and we have added additional bulbs in hallways and rooms just to be able to tell what's going on. It might look good for a pic, but I don't think this would hold up as a gameplay mechanic.
  7. I admit I had a gamer moment a few months back when I first complained about some of the sprites, but having seen them in a few screenshots now my opinion of them has just been reinforced. They have been work in progress since at least September, and no feedback has been taken at all. Now, my suggestion is the same: revert them. You can't tell what's going on at the computer screens, the newscaster and other wall items are still butchered versions from the better ones Wezzy did time ago, and telecomms still look flat and with a totally out of place color palette. The former examples are direct downgrades and the latter are arguably “better”, though my same criticism stands as to why they a) look weird over all because of the poor machine design and b) don't fit at all because of the colors. If one person were to actually take the herculean task to resprite the whole server and make it unique they would at least require to be consistent within themselves, which these sprites aren't. Really, it's easier and more in line to just port tg telecomms sprites than to try make our own, there is no value in originality if it will simply not fit.
  8. We haven't interacted as much as I wish we would, but Vrow is a wonderful person and more than capable to run the medical department. +1
  9. Not only from a code perspective, but OOCly even if humans were changed, it just means the default changes. It ultimately means nothing to do these, unless there were more human subspecies added, which I don't think would be a good idea.
  10. Hi, sorry for the delay. I'm mainly interested in Yiltz opinions of Unathi, and, of course, Dionae.
  11. I think enthusiasm and will to learn the wiki code (which is a bit odd at first, and might seem counter intuitive, but when put together in different pages for an article it really shines) are the most important, especially with how out of date some sections of the wiki (not even counting the lore part of the wiki, that's a whole different beast imo) is what's needed the most in a person.
  12. I think you're fit, but I'm worried about your recent behavior (specifically, how you're bordering the line of hostility in Marlon's app), your past brawls and your dramatic posts on the forums (your “I'm leaving you, Aurora” forum post). I don't know much of the context for whatever issues you had with other members, admittedly, but it is a concern.
  13. Just to clarify on the retcons, there will be articles that will be seldomly referenced and at odds with current lore. I think these, more than “technically being canon”, are in a limbo where the de-canonization process has to be done. There are a fair share of Vaurca articles that don't fit the current lore, I just haven't sat down to list my de-canonization request. But for example, there's an article in Sol News Network that says a man was actually a shell with the brain of a dog. This is completely at odds with synthetic lore and, frankly, too silly. I don't think any player would take that as a fact anymore, even if it's still technically public. As for past events being too wacky, it's bound to happen. Not only has the server changed, you both state that at its beginnings it was a novel project and with younger writers. There are some events like the Lii'dra invasion to Elyra, for example, that many players know about, but I'd say most new active players haven't read the articles, which have some events that are, again, at odds (and not only with our current vision, but even Bygone's Lii'dra, for example) or happening in a weird fashion. This has been internally discussed, but it's not really priority, as hiding many old articles, because again they are rarely read, if ever. As for Chada's points, I disagree with some of what you say, but that would deviate the discussion further.
  14. The concerns I voiced on your past app just grow with this one. i don't want to repeat myself, so I'll just talk about what's here. Your wishlist reads like that, a wishlist and not really a plan, especially without the knowledge of what goes behind the scenes. I can't blame you for that, because you're not part of the lore team currently to know about our direction, but it does feel you're ignoring at best, and outright antagoinizing at worst, what we've been doing for a while. Retcons can not always be done ICly, for example, but many happen like that. The problem I see with “oldlore”, mainly, is a bunch of topics that were never relevant or properly maintained when added to the wiki, but middle, ignored and forgotten because they never built up to much. Yes, there are foundational things that set the tone for today, as wacky as the details of such arcs can be. However, while you were lore master this was never promoted to be added to the wiki, and while you talk about old faces, truth is most players of today weren't here 8 years ago, writers included, and have no idea about these events because they were forgotten. The division does exist, even if it is mostly a buzzword, because there was no sense of continuity ever with that. I bring up the Biesel political parties again: they were irrelevant, they were given a brief mention on the wiki and at some point that got wiped, mostly due to irrelevancy and simplistic ideologies. Now we come up with new ones and when you ask about what happened to the old ones, it seems you try to corner us into “but that wasn't never properly retconned!”. Frankly, I had no idea they existed until I saw you mention them over different channels and the forums, and it wouldn't surprise me if other collaborators didn't know they existed either because how long ago it happened. I already spend too much of my time when writing lore hunting down oldlore that was never properly referenced. I've worked with scraps of incomplete Discord discussions, prototype documents and one-time comments on the forums burried long ago. Sometimes, these even become central to understanding why some wiki articles felt so incomplete or weird. I'm mentioning this because it's exhausting, and for a team like the human one, digging up all of that must be even worse. Frankly, if anything, I would like retcons to have less rules, at least when it comes to news articles. There are plenty that are outdated and we should do tabula rasa in many of them. I don't want to be cornered trying to fix lore that 1) was never mentioned elsewhere or 2) has a different tone that clashes with the current setting or direction. It has happened already. The lorewriter job shouldn't be fixing the problems of the past, but maintaining (i.e., tweaking, updating, etc) that lore and making additions with hope for the future. Frankly I don't believe this would be promoted with you as a deputy.
  15. Every single time you say you've changed, from your ban appeals to your mod app to today. Also, putting aside that Zavod and ZH are working together now (and have been for long to this point), booing, especially in a crowd of 40ish people, is an awful idea. I can't even fathom doing that irl.
  16. Ever since I joined, I see you come back, request a position (like mod twice) and then disappear again. All of this while you make it hard to roleplay with you, sometimes talking to Farson is really awkward as he acts really odd, which is not suited for the look and what I believe you try to make of him. I agree with the other concerns, and while yes HOP or Captain don't require too much mechanical knolwedge, you have in character fits that don't make much sense (there was a time you tried to suicide Farson with a cane, then yesterday you held up the line for a hat, booed your boss in a small audience and then messaged the very same person about a petty issue). Two months ago you ate k'ois and died, and complained about it in OOC as it happened— the list goes on (like one of your other characters selling drugs as a scientist). So -1, even if you're not applying for CMO, these would be issues in other positions.
  17. You just came back and from a ban, placed by LRP behavior no less. Stick around for longer and apply at a later date, it's too sudden to grant you this power, in my opinion.
  18. Sorry, I bribed Schwann to write yet more Dominia lore instead of Elyra.
  19. They are attachments, but you can wear them in the jacket slot too.
  20. Hello, sorry for the delay. I like the concept of a Mi'kuetz that cares for its Ta, it is something I imagined when expanding on Queenless but that isn't that explored as of yet. However, could you please expand on the how it's different to role-play as a Vaurca question? As for the backstory itself, I feel that leaving Moghes from the Wasteland is always a question that's hard to answer, though we've allowed Mi'kuetz to take the route you propose, more or less. I do have some questions regarding Louz. What is Louz's relationship with the Clan, and what does your character think of the Clan as a whole, personally? On that same line, how does it feel about Unathi? You mention something at the end about the loathe of Aut'akh, is this Louz's position too? The job itself, and dealing with humans or other xenos, would be something very different for Louz to deal with. Queenless don't get quality VR training, so just getting back and learning virtually about alcohol (and not butanol drinks), as well as different cocktails that are not those drank traditionally by Vaurcae (you say so yourself toothpaste is a commodity that is not only recent, but probably even more scarce in that region of Moghes) would be a great change for a Worker. How is Louz holding up with this? Lastly, does Louz have a faith? Please don't take the fourth question wrong, I don't ask it as a means to discourage you, because I actually like this character idea. It's just something you would have to keep in consideration. Thanks for applying.
  21. I agree with Alberyk in that someone readily-available as deputy would be more beneficial. Maybe I'm used to how Cael will always try to quickly answer, but I would rather see someone quicker to respond in the position.
  22. I've been thinking a while about the Dionae experimentation, and both the Vaurca and Diona teams have come to the conclusion that this would've probably happened only with individual nymphs, not a Gestalt. We have neglected the pests of the Titan Prime a bit, and it's partly my fault because I completely forgot to add it on my history rewrite, but they were not really seen as people for long, or probably even sentient. I'm still thinking how it could've happened when it comes to not just whacking them as pests, but everything else reads fine on the app.
  23. Social Assistance for C'thur Improved Translated to Tau Ceti Basic Earlier today, the Office for C’thur Development and Integration announced the assignment of five hundred Caretakers, which will supervise multiple hive-cells of the C’thur Hive and ensure their welfare in Federation territory. This historical decision is an important advancement for the Vaurca in the Nralakk Federation, and part of the ten-year plan for C’thur, known as Qerr’C’thur, enacted in 2460. In their Viv-ID account, the Office said: The Vaurca Queens have favored this advancement, and it was revealed to be a discussion point when Grand Councilor Jrugl Weashbi made a visit to Diulszi a month ago.
  24. They Were Once Great Warriors, Now They’re Back at it Once More You are born, you grow up, maybe have children, and then die. That is how the circle of life usually happens for a human. If you’re lucky enough, maybe you’ll reach that 150 year mark. Otherwise, give it more or less a century and you’re good to go. While religions have existed with us for long, the truth is that science still remains uncertain as to whether what occurs after our death. Cloning, as it stands, feels like a far-fetched dream. Vaurcae have managed to find a way around this. If you’re still unaware of what a neural socket is, think of it as a second brain that develops while you’re living your life. Among the many functionalities of this little quintessential augment, there’s the ability to make a ‘copy’ (or some may even say, transfer) of a Vaurca’s consciousness, so that once they die they will be able to permanently reside in their Afterlife. Understanding Vaurca Virtual Reality can be a doozy, so here’s our Essential Guide Behind Vaurca VR if you need to catch up. One of the most amazing parts of this is that some Vaurcae may opt to live again by taking a new body. In short, think as if your consciousness was transferred to a blank-state human. It’s basically the same principle, with millennia of experience by the Vaurca people. As cool as it sounds, though, many Vaurcae opt not to do it. After all, spending your eternity in Paradise is more appealing to most of us. However, Queen Tupii has set her mind on changing this. A month after Tupii’s coronation, she has had to face a hard question: how can she rebuild her long-forgotten brood? Her solution was to rebuild the Warrior lines of the Hive. Preparation for new, golden standard Warriors, however, may take a year, or even multiple years. So she came up with something else: what if those Warriors of old were to make a comeback? It’s certainly unique, and the first time in the history of the available Hives that this happens. Many of those Great Hive War veterans’ consciousness are speculated to be lost after a tragic accident that occurred back in Sedantis, but those few remaining have been willing to cooperate with the new Queen’s goal. In the words of Za’Akaix’Mylvock K’lax, one of these souls preparing for their ‘resleeving’: “It is a pleasure to, despite the time that has passed since our deaths, to be of use for the Hive again.” What do you think? Next time you see a Tupii Warrior, think if they’re actually back after a really long hiatus!
  25. This seems doable. I might give it a try later.
