  1. You see, Arrow, I actually stated that later in the thread. What I'm trying to do is establish that regular potted plants are not going away.
  2. for A Needlessly Large PR https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/5882 Hi, Hollywood's ParadoxSpace here. I recently made a big-ass PR. This big-ass PR has a lot of things in it, and I'm not sure which one Arrow was asking me to make a feedback thread about, and he actually has a gun to my head right now, so I'll list them all here. First things first, holographic plants. Cyberplants are an Eris port. The actual plant can be changed by clicking on it (I tried my best to resprite all the vanilla potted plants.) These DO NOT FULLY REPLACE THE REGULAR POTTED PLANTS. LIVING PLANTS WILL STILL EXIST. Cyberplants are their own, separate item than potted plants. The color of the plant can also be changed by walking over it, however, this will dim the plant gradually, so you will need to click it again to maintain full brightness. I have placed a few in choice locations across the station (to give off a more cyberpunk vibe, and to emphasize some areas that potted plants would not survive in, such as the dangers of engineering, and the unlivable hellscape staffed by the demons known as scientists.) I have also ported nanacode to make potted plants randomly spawn as cyberplants. This is a 20% chance. Again, living potted plants will still exist. They're pretty rare. Eventually, I can make them buildable, but this would be out of scope on an already M A S S I V E PR. Tune in next week. I have also added more potted plants in general to departments entirely free of greenery. Science still gets none. Next, I have fixed the barsign. It is no longer visible from the backroom. You must go infront of it to change it. If you're opposed to this, I don't know what to tell you. In the place of the arcade machines, I have placed two cyberplants. cyberpunk 2460 Next, I have made plants layer over mobs. I don't really have a screencap for it, just imagine your character hiding behind a potted plant. Really picture yourself among the fronds. Lastly, I have generally increased the overall moisture level of the station. Two more water coolers have been added to the map. One in the medical lobby, One in Security. A soda dispenser has also been added to Cargo, along with drinking glasses. A secret beer keg has been added to Engineering. A keg of Xuizi juice, for Unathi drinking, has been added to the bar. I guess the filing cabinet in robotics was moved. Had to make room for a plant. That about covers it. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
  3. Because it needs to be compulsory in order to collect data on how it would actually go.
  4. How about a better one, that filters gasses or has armor or something?
  5. No, I don't mean ultimate authority, just authority within their department.
  6. Because if the department officer is being a dick or going somewhere I don't want him to be, I want the authority to tell him to not do that.
  7. If they're not exclusively under the command of the head of staff, I'd atleast like them to be mostly under the command of the head of staff, or it'd be really weird.
  8. It's not about if they like it or not. It's about 'it's a new change and people don't like changing how they normally operate.' I'd rather they see how they like it or not while actually doing it.
  9. That's not really the point of the suggestion. If it were optional, it would never be done. Edit: Also, this isn't a suggestion to gimp Security. Just to emphasize the Secure part, and make security play a little less orkoid.
  10. Implants are cool, but humans should not be able to understand more than like 10% of Skrellian. Plus, as we've seen with Siik'tau, it would make Skrell players extremely uncomfortable.
  11. wow for once something i can't code myself Essentially, instead of Security just being a formless mob not beheld to defending any departments, Sec would be assigned to a department. What does this mean? For the uninitiated, essentially, each department (Engineering, Medical, Science, Supply) would have a little Security office. Contains every console they need, a recharger, a locker, yadda. In character setup, there would be a 'Department Preference for Sec' button that would mark down what department you'd prefer to be in, and if no one else has selected that, you will get it. Your Officer will spawn with either a department armband, or maybe some kind of department-flavored helmet/vest. They will spawn with a headset with both channels, and will be at the direct command of whoever's in charge of your department at the moment. But why? All too often, Security never pays attention to other departments during Code Red. We are often forced to seek other avenues of defense, such as ordering guns, making pikes, creating gallons of acid, what have you. This change would be meant to pretty much force Security to actually, well, secure us.
  12. What do I mean by this? Add " The primary goal of antagonists is to DRIVE A STORY AND TO GENERATE INTERACTION." to the standards Security/Command is held to. Far too often, neither camp is very interested in driving the plot of the round, but ending it. I believe it's only fair that the burden of an enjoyable round is shouldered by all three parties.
  13. What country you from? People fight off and even kill burglars in Burgerland all the time. Even I'll be damned if I'm just gonna wait for the police if I have superior armaments.
  14. I agree with Alberyk. It's okay for xenos to have a weakness.
  15. can we remove the NT branding from them, then.
  16. As long as we maintain that the chef does not hop over the counter and chase the antag down five hallways, sounds good to me.
  17. bump. also op updated to remove extra pixels.
  18. This is a copypaste of your last application. Not to mention these are lazy answers.
  19. Exactly what unique features were "removed" previously? This 'yet another' doesn't sound right.
  20. Being that Skrell can vocalize in pitches humans cannot hear (the !s and *s in skrellian) there is no reason they should not be able to vocalize mandarin.
  21. Sol Common is not even a unique species language. It's a unique regional language. Not a lot of characters even take it.
  22. Title. In reference to https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/5787 Thread creation authorized by VTCobaltblood. Personally, I am in support, though apparently this needs a thread.

  25. As someone who was brained and gibbed by the hostile detective, I'll keep it short. I was in the construction level with other cats when Snowball (was that their name? some fuckin' msai.) came up and gave us free money. I was skeptical as to why until she delivered us 50 solid gold ingots. I was more receptive, the final choice of mine to go with the mercs was largely because one of us, played by @DronzTheWolf, had joined them and told us 'come with us or stay behind it's your choice.' Everyone else started going, so I dragged Valka with me. At that point, I was unaware the mercs had done really anything except slapfighting with Security, as I don't happen to be omniscient. We boarded the shuttle, I assumed the crew would just take their losses, when suddenly I was a brain. This was nothing really better than gank, and Noir has a habit of removing people from the round in such ways, and it isn't fun for anyone but him. It's especially heinous as a Detective. 'suck it up and either observe, play another game or rejoin the round as a new character until the next one' This is an extremely toxic mentality. Sure, losing is a part of the game. Losing is sometimes even fun. But for me atleast, I log on and I want to play a specific character, no matter how many other characters I have as backup. Getting told to 'suck it up' for being ganked by and for factors out of my control is a dick move, especially following it with 'play some1 else lmao'
