Sure. Sextended mostly just serves to disappoint, as I have rarely ever seen a sextended round where half the crew did not cryo.

Thanks for being real w/ me Doxx and I appreciate your post. I'm not sure how to convince you that I am earnesly willing to do my best to improve my usual pattern, and if I can't that's okay. Even if not, I apologise for my behavior pushing you out of interacting with the community, and knowing this strengthens my resolve to not be negative all the time (and not fire shots back. I'm working on detaching myself from these things as best I can.) I understand that often moderation isn't a positive experience, but for what it's worth, I never had any issues with this in previous experience taking and handling ahelps.

Thanks for the question, Schev. While I cannot promise that I will never get Totally Hotblooded as a moderator, I will be doing my best to pull out of arguments that I know I will get extremely emotional about, or at the least choose my words carefully as to not make anyone feel like they're wrong for joining in such discussions. I'm aware of my patterns of behavior, and I am actively trying to keep these things from happening and to put my best face on when in the Discord. (comment about mouse mains here)

Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: ParadoxSpace Character Name(s): Any of the following: AI Name(s): None Discord username + tag: ParadoxSpace#6294 Age: 20 Timezone: MST When are you on Aurora?: Pretty much most of the day. Experience How long have you played SS13?: Since somewhere in late 2014. How long have you played on Aurora: Pretty sure I only really got active around two years ago. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: A lot, I have been playing mostly baycode servers for years. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Yes, on Baystation12. However, I steadily lost passion with the setting. Have you read through the criteria thread; https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4198 - and believe that you mark off all the criteria?: I believe I mark off almost all criterea besides courtesy, which I am going to try my best to improve the unmistakable blackness in my heart through this job. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Not from Aurora. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I have been playing Space Station 13 daily for years, and most of my internet friends are people I've met on various servers. It's, for better or for worse, a large part of my life. Why do you play on Aurora?: Aurorastation is a server I have a lot of passion for, the setting is one of the better HRP settings I've ever seen, and I enjoy the interactions I've had ICly. What do moderators do?: Moderators ensure that no person, or group, is intentionally making the game a poor experience for anyone else, and ensuring that the rules are more than just window dressing. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: To help lost players, give even veterans knowledge they might not have, and make sure that everyone is having a good time. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I want to become a moderator to increase my efforts in helping the server be a good place for everyone. There are areas I believe need additional help, mostly in the way of the Discord/forums' level of moderation, and there are areas in myself that I want to improve by taking up a role in helping players out. Also, I want to ban everyone. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I know pretty much everything ingame except certain aspects of chemistry, circuits, and xenoflora. I believe I was really good at interacting with players 'on the level' during my time on Baystation. I am also familiar with Github, which it seems not a lot of moderators are. I am on the Discord near-constantly, which I think makes me pretty connected with the community. Lastly, I have a pretty great knowledge of lore (though it is mostly non-human lore.) How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I am frankly not that great at handling slights to my person, but I am on the road to being better at that. I am always able to detach myself from a hostile ticket, and even back out if needed, though this had never happened in my previous tenure. Anything Else You Want to Add: A final command human, but it is more of a plea. I know not a lot of people in this community like me a whole lot. If you have a huge issue with me, the way I do things, even the way I speak, please don't be afraid to DM me about it. My friends have before, and I have always taken their words into account.

Player Complaint - Zechariah Thaddeus
Snakebittenn replied to Snakebittenn's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
They weren't saying it was an IC issue, they were saying nothing could be done about it (though admitting it was shitty.) It was an issue because the presence of two fully-kitted combat mechs completely neutered any attempt at the crew revolting, and made the round entirely one-sided. -
BYOND Key: ParadoxSpaceGame ID: bZr-cPpDPlayer Byond Key: Who knows.Staff involved: MelodicVoidReason for complaint: Zechariah, the roboticist, pretty much spent the round making turbo-kitted mechs for Security. This was in a mercenary/rev round in which the crew had been going on strike against Security/the mercs for firing everyone that's 'civilian', the presence of a fully-kitted Durand and fully-kitted Gygax making the round pointless for everyone but Security and the mercenaries in question.Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Yes. The moderator told me nothing could be done (which is frankly absurd but okay.)Approximate Date/Time: 3/25/2019, around 2:00 MST.

Maybe an intercom can be added. Not having a channel and a headset is pretty important to keep the officers from just doing their old 'patrol randomly and show up with the entire department to one stabbing.' What skills, exactly, are needed to say 'Ah. Officer? There is a man here with a crowbar inside research. He isn't a scientist. Sic 'em, boy.' Considering Officers can literally be a minimum age of 18, I'm pretty sure the RD/CMO/CE/HoP know what they're doing. Also, strange how nobody is concerned about the HoP being the weakest head right now. Edit: Also, the HoS still has a monopoly on violence. They have the entire armory, and control over who gets arrested. Security isn't about winning, it's about roleplaying. That being said, just coordinate with the rest of the crew? Get guns from Science/Cargo? Fortify the departments you work in? It's not hard.

This would work more as a random event or side antagonist than a full-blown gamemode.

Vampire should automatically turn anyone sucked off into a Vampire
Snakebittenn replied to BurgerBB's topic in Archive
It'd be better if embrace was just a free function of sucking someone until they run out of blood. Or make it cheaper. Thralling atleast should definitely be cheaper. -
Try asking. Anyway, I don't really support this because Medical shouldn't be rewarded (with finding antags) for alt tabbing out and doing other stuff.

Snakebittenn replied to Snakebittenn's topic in Archive
We.. have tho. We've had cyberlimbs. We've had cyber-organs. We've had genetic augmentation in Dominia. We have the entirety of Eridani. What's the holdup? -

The neural lace is a separate organ. -

Doublepost: Insertion would probably be done with surgery, but I guess there could be machines to do it instead. -
While the idea has been brought up here and there, it has never really gained traction or a proper thread. Here is the concept. Current cloning is basically a microwave. You stick the cold body in, wait a few minutes, a fully-formed body comes out. Resleeving is a little different. The cloning pod is somewhat the same. It is able to produce either a generic braindead clone, or, hopefully, a clone that has the appearance of a scan. In character setup there would be a new option, 'has neural lace.' You can toggle this on or off. Without a neural lace, you cannot be cloned unless you are in one of the backup slots in the cloner. The neural lace is a device in your head that saves a backup of your brain. When you die, it can be taken out and put into a braindead clone, or, it can be put into someone that already has a lace and it has a 50% chance to overwrite their lace with your consciousness until it's rrripped out. I suppose Research could be able to print laces. This would make cloning slightly more complex than 'hit 3 buttons and you are winrar' and make it a little more involved. As well as being able, as an antag, to deny people cloning without having to decapitate them.

The species is already in the codebase, though.

You're viewing mechanics as a finite container that if we have too much, it spills over and it's gg. Sure, people can roleplay spacers. People can roleplay needing implants. But it doesn't hurt anyone to include mechanics for it that would differentiate them from humans.
-
You're incorrectly viewing mechanics as a bottle that we fill.
