Vlrralkhzazhul Line Under Construction 24.07.2459 Damaged turrets of the Dymtris Line, circa November 2458 After a successful offensive against Republican forces, the three Mrraka'te'almalikii gathered today to discuss the future of Imperial strategy in the war effort. Following a week of planning and discussion, the construction of a new defensive line, named the "Vlrralkhzazhul Line" after the chief architect, has begun. The new plan calls for stronger defenses than the old Dymtris Line possessed with more robust anti-air capabilities. The new decision comes in the wake of the breakout of the Marine Expeditionary Jabrut Almumalik from Republican encirclement along the west coast salient where the elite units pressed farther ahead than the rest of the Imperial Army. It will be the first major fortification project of the New Kingdom since the recently defunct Dymtris Line was constructed in 2450, which protected the New Kingdom for nearly a decade before being destroyed by the major People's Republic offensive last November. The new line is expected to consolidate the Kingdom's modest new holdings before the exhausted soldiers of the opposition can be relieved by distant reserves. A civilian's parade lead by survivors of February's parliament bombing is due to be held in the coming hours in celebration of the Kingdom's first successful offensive operation since its founding in 2449. The King is considering the creation of a national holiday to commemorate the success, but for now has stated his wishes to focus on the task of gathering resources and builders for the new defensive line. His last public address ended with the comforting lines, "The safety of the Kingdom always comes first."

[Denied]ShadowGabe23's Tajara application
Mofo1995 replied to ShadowGabe23's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
This application is very... sparse. There's not very much here which ties Avakir to Adhomai, or even the Tajaran race. The backstory really does nothing to incorporate our lore or to demonstrate knowledge and competency in the lore. If "Adhomai" is replaced with just about any other planet, the backstory would still fit, albeit possibly strangely given that being cold all the time is apparently a major plot point. There's nothing here which makes Salin'oni Avakir identifiable as a Tajaran. I also have issues with the idea that a nomad that just wondered into the wilderness one day could suddenly learn how to become a CSI, but the backstory gives no measurement of passage of time, so I can't really tell if it'd be believable or not. I'm going to deny this application, and recommend if you're still interested in playing the race to draft up a new application. The point of the whitelisting process is to showcase understanding of the lore, so try to fit some of the themes in Tajaran lore into your backstory, or tie your Tajara to events in the species' history. Consider adding what faction they belonged to, if any. Maybe some aspects about the religions on the planet, or the culture. -
Fuuuuuuuuck. I was so excited that you were back again.

That would be M'sai, yup. I don't think so. "They may be adverse to weapons of mass destruction or genocidal solutions to problems after blowing their own planet into a permanent nuclear winter." 1.) Only one nuke has been used in combat on Adhomai, ever. The PRA used a nuclear device against the ALA headquarters in Ron'Tul as a desperate measure to drive them out. It worked, but with major diplomatic consequences and many foreign nations slashing or otherwise diminishing support for the Hadii regime. 2.) The planet is cold naturally. It's why everyone has fur. "They are less likely to keep opinions to themselves about what they think of a person on first glance due to their caste upbringing" I don't really know what you mean by this. Tajara have the option the be racist/partisan to each other, sure, but they have no free license to be sassy cats to aliens and authority. "their bond to their clan is deeper than human friendships. " In the context of Tajara, clans are just families. (Though the Tajaran word for Family is "Parivara," this often refers to the religious institution of the suns worship.) So, yeah, bond to family is closer than friendship. "Playing a sec character from one of the peasant descended and having to remain civil to a Njarir’Akhran descended would be agonising to them and could lead to some interesting RP" How do you mean? There is no formal peasantry and nobility anymore unless you were born in the NKA, which has only existed for 10 years. Unless your character was born before 2420, they were very likely born in the People's Republic of Adhomai. There is some historical grievance from the other three races against Njarir, but there is no formal divide between them by law. "started looking through books" It's not that Tajara are banned from reading, or that they are all illiterate. But literature in general is frowned upon by most Tajara. If someone spent a lot of their free time reading books, they would be thought of as really strange by most of their fellow Tajara. Which, again, is fine but I feel as though you missed out on a neat opportunity to make it a larger theme in your character backstory, as it offers some options for early life issues (I.E. being bullied, feeling outcasted, tfw no gf) When his father went on to pick up the books and burn them, I was really hoping that it was out of disdain for books, but burning them for being propaganda of the masters makes me wonder: When was your character born? There were a lot of revolutionary book burnings from 2420 to 2432 during the overthrow of the old Njarir nobility which is why pre 25th century history of Adhomai is hard to come by outside of theological texts, but I'm genuinely curious now. Which war was his father fighting in when he was slain by artillery? The first or second revolution? The debate over which is older, Ma'ta'ke or S'rand'marr is on-going. They both claim to be the oldest. "attending a school near the capital with a Terran teacher who obviously regretted her decision to teach on such a barren waste." I'm going to assume you mean Nal'Tor and not Shastar City or Kaltir. Being that Nal'Tor was the seat of power for the old nobility and their many kingdoms, and went on to become the PRA's capital. Either way, "Barren Waste" is a bad description. Near the equator the climate on Adhomai is four seasonal. Which is to say, you get summers and springs as well as falls and winters, and green grass. Nal'Tor is the farthest from the equator of the three most current capitals of the three factions, but it's still in one of the warmer and more habitable zones of Adhomai with four seasons of climate. To its west are large sweeping plains which form the major breadbasket of the western hemisphere. Also, again, there was no major nuclear war on Adhomai. The Adhomai military................ which? The Republican Army? The Adhomai Liberation Army? The Imperial Adhomian Army? Their naval counterparts? "He decided to take up arms for the common folk but faced discrimination among the low-ranks due to his M'sai heritage." M'sai throughout most of history were "Bro-tier" with the Njarir. Their symbiotic relationship formed the basis by which Njarir were able to assume the positions of nobility and become the ruling class of the planet. M'sai are also, throughout history, depicted as the race of soldiers. This application is incredibly vague. In fact, I've noticed a complete aversion to referencing any concrete historical events, locations, people, or factions. Other than S'rand'marr and Ma'ta'ke. And you seem to either be under serious misunderstandings about the dynamics of the race and its history, or possibly mistook another server's lore for our own. Either way, I feel that you have failed to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of Tajaran lore. The only major historical event you reference in here is a nuclear war that never happened. You're free to apply again in the future, but please give more attention to a study of the wiki before doing so.

After a month of consideration, and the realization that the wiki says and has always said: "X Group usual coloration" I've realized that given the semantics of the situation, there was clearly meant to be leeway when deciding Tajara colors. So long as your Tajara isn't something ridiculous, you can have relative freedom deciding what colors you want your catbeasts to be without having to keep track of RGB variance. IT's for the best anyways, as it was clear very quickly how wildly unpopular the proposed changes were. On a side note, using the pictures Sierra uploaded as well as one of my own, the pictures of the common colorations are now up on the wiki for visual reference. This can serve as either a list of options to choose from or a visual guide for the types of colors which are Tajaran in nature. Also, I can't tell if Sierra accidentally uploaded the same picture twice, or if their RGB values are just really that close, but the Wiki thought that the Wheat picture and the Cream picture were duplicates when I uploaded them. It was amusing, but lore wise, I think it's a nice tie in to how M'sai and Njarir were the power team throughout history.

It's time to bring the apartment server controversy full circle and to make a Mendell City apartments map. Then the newmap name can be the name of the building.

MANIFESTO OF THE ADHOMAI LIBERATION ARMY - 2459 WE, the Tajara of planet of Adhomai, reject xeno imperialism and their puppet governments. In keeping with the vision of the late Rhagrrhuzau Hadii, the Adhomai Liberation Army will toil endlessly to carve out a future for Adhomai built by Tajara, for Tajara. With this unified will enclosed in our hearts, we follow the rightful leader Halkiikijr Nated'Hakhan, who is the true succesor to Rhagrrhuzau Hadii's legacy by merit of morality as well as the wishes of the late Hadii. The Tajaran people need a government which will shield them from the exploitation with which the alien races have proven themselves to be inalienably aligned. Ever since first contact with the humans, even the disaterous old order fell by allowing the meddling of outsiders. The seduction of rulers by profit from aliens is a virulent poison which enslaves the Tajaran people and erodes our traditions. Only by protection of our natural resources, manpower, and industry as well as isolation from intragalactic politics can we obtain the natural right of all Tajara to self determination, and the right of every government to sovereingty. Backed by the strong leadership of Halkiikijr Nated'Hakhan and the Adhomai Liberation Army, the true government of Adhomai must be a democratic peoples' republic. Unlike the treacherous People's Republic, all Tajara must be given the right to elect their leaders. Even today, from Shastar City to Ahmoda, the people under the Adhomai Liberation Army are the only on Adhomai to enjoy the true freedom of voting rights and representation in government. It is now time for the various regional governments under the protection of the Adhomai Liberation Army to come together as the Democratic Peoples' Republic of Adhomai. With the Adhomai Liberation Army as its sword and the will of the people as its shield, a new age of Tajaran prosperity is upon us. The prostitution of our people's natural resources by the capitalism of the humans and the old nobility is clear, a free market is not the true future for the Tajaran people. However, the command economy of the People's Republic with all of its interference with daily Tajaran life and inefficiency is also clearly not the way. The Tajara must be free to embark upon their own enterprises so long as it is not detrimental to the good of our people. Likewise, the government must have a strong hand to regulate and nationalize industry whenever a clear benefit to our people is present. With this balance that replaces both the iron-fist of the command economy and the exploitation of our people by capitalism, the Democratic People's Republic of Adhomai will pave the way for an economically prosperous future for Adhomai. Every Tajara must do their part in order to bring about the new age of Tajaran state with all of its greatness. Only by resisting the tyranny of the regime of Njadrasanukii, as well as his alien masters, in every facet of life can we hope to carve our own path out of galatic politics. In the 41 years since we have made contact with humans, it is clear that they understand only violence, and so it is through this language which we must communicate to them. Just as their weapons are supplied to the People's Republic to destroy our homes, kill our people, and enslave our children, all for the sake of dubious profit, we too must strike back into the heart of the enemy. Attack humans wherever you find them, destroy the assets of their corporations, organize and mobilize against their People's Republic puppets, uncover and lynch the agents of the People's Strategic Intelligence Service. Millions of Tajara live in the Republic of Biesel alone, the heart of the imperial corporate puppet masters. Rise up and make a stand for Tajaran sovereignty. Tajaran liberation is at hand. A day when we can all be free and determine our own futures is within grasp. Only when our people reach out and take hold of their rightful future can we all pave the true way for the Tajara. The suns watch over us, and the Adhomai Liberation Army fights for us, but only the will of the people can free us.

Forums are going the way of the buffalo for unofficial posting. Now with an instant chat messaging medium for shitposting, most items are taken to the discord. However, complaints news articles, applications and suggestions are still alive and well at least. Their official capacity makes the noise of discord less than ideal and more suited to the slower moving and better formatted forums.

Whom should've been contacted? Who are these self-proclaimed pillars of the Vaurcae community? While I understand keeping a community in touch about changes, there are 49 Vaurcae whitelists out there. Which of these 49 individuals was he supposed to get ahold of? Those who wrote this google doc? If five Tajara players (out of the 115 whitelistees) got together and handed me a manifesto of every issue they had with my lore, am I really supposed to take them as proper representatives of the entire Tajaran community? It's important to compile and present our criticisms, but I agree with Skull on this one. We can't seriously have demanded that CMF go out of his way to contact a handful of players and request their permission to make the changes he campaigned on. All the changes he was going to make were in his lore dev application thread. The perfect chance to manifest opposition was during the lengthy time in which the lore dev applications were open. He applied for the job and then did exactly what he applied to do when he was accepted for it.

I ran into a bit of a snag while writing this. As life stories tend to be, there is, naturally, romance in this. I'll put the following spoilers in a spoiler. And that's the update! One particular element which won't be seen until I start uploading the second volume is that the political events and history of the time will be detailed, giving a cohesive history of how the PRA came to be from a series of different and somtimes even hostile rebels groups of every flavor. However, I wouldn't expect anyone to have to sit down and read my story to get that kind of information. A timeline page for the wiki is in the works of the events on Adhomai from 2400 to present. One item I've come to notice is that the combat scenes in this story are lengthy. I mean, *really* lengthy. Where I've left off before updating you fellows is the destruction of Shevarrditsa village in open rebellion. Given the small unit nature of the entire encounter (a platoon vs a village) I did not want to omit many details since every passing moment is important and relevant to our brothers. I found a happier medium when reaching the larger battles in which they've joined revolutionary armies where instead of detailing every last thing, an important or noteworthy day of a larger battle was taken and written about. Afterall, writing about every little piece of their time in the service would be dreadfully dull, so there are multiweek long and even multiyear long time skips between parts. I suppose I was just eager to share my thoughts on development and the trials and tribulations accompanying it. This writing project is something I'm fairly passionate about, even if it is babbies first short story. The joy of writing something longer than a paragraph or two is great, and I want to push my writing skills to their limits to see how far I can take it. I'll see about finishing the polish on the Battle of Shevarrditsa within the next few weeks. EDIT: It's also incredible uncomfortable for me to write about humanoid cats flirting with each other/being in love. There's always a strong initial reaction of complete revulsion. But dammit, I want my story to be good, so onward into the breach.

You're a veteran roleplayer and someone who is extremely integrated into our server's community. Not to mention, an administrator. I bring these up to let you know that your application is under more scrutiny than the average application because I know your capabilities with little uncertainty. Please select an RGB value from the list on the wiki, or provide one if you would like to suggest light brown as a color. I know it's anal, but Bygone is right when he points out that trying to get a standard for colors is currently in flux. Light brown seems perfectly believable, maybe pick a suggestion from this list or come up with your own? http://www.rapidtables.com/web/color/brown-color.htm Either way, if colors are going to start being enforced in the near future, let's get off on the right foot and have you start with one. This is incredibly vague. Additionally, "one for all" and "three factions warring with eachother" thing are highly contradictory. Still vague. But I still appreciate that someone has pointed this out. Their conservative culture and reactionary tendencies often are glossed over by members of the community despite being one of the most major themes in their lore. I'm not sure if its intentional, but I see parallels here when speaking of the mold of the ideal citizen of Adhomai to the Soviet idea in the late 20's and early 30's of the "New Soviet Man," the idea being that humans would one day be machine like in the way that they thought and acted to live in harmony with perfect logic and to work with productivity in mind. At any rate, for those reading, Al'mari is the city located just to the west of Castle Hadii, and is relatively safe being that it was formerly the domain of the Hadii family when they were nobles and currently where most of the family lives aside from in The Steeple. Losing the city would be like the Soviets losing Leningrad as far as morale victories go, except its avoided coming under siege. These details have yet to make it to the wiki along with an explanation of characteristics of the various cities and their cultures, but Nursie did ask about these things for Al'mari from me. Shady human in trench coat says, "Hey, cool cat, want a low paying job where everyone calls you a furball thousands of light years away from home?" NanoTrasen must be catnip for Tajara who are a glutton for conflict In all seriousness though, the idea that she was lured away by a desire for adventure and the temptation of opportunity is believable, especially with all the bull that NanoTrasen recruiters spout. All though Alissa's life has been mostly sheltered, I'm sure that events such as the ALA winter offensive made her feel that nowhere on Adhomai was actually safe afterall. I don't understand what is illegitimate of this passport. Is it partially illegitimate because it was bought with stolen money? The "legit" ness of legal documentation is a binary state, especially when the government is a highly authoritarian bureaucratic mess. Aside from that issue, I like the idea of Alissa stealing her family's money before setting off for what she thinks will be a better life for herself. It gives her an attachment to her homeworld, but at that same time is a barrier between herself and all her friends and family back home. And yet, for all she knows, they could just be looking for her or missing their daughter. It's not like she announced, "I'm stealing your money to go be a fursona with humans lol" The uncertainty about how they feel regarding the situation is a nice even if unintentional touch. "My favorite aspect of playing alien characters is how they interact with human culture." This is a very strong pose. There tend to be two camps among Tajara when it comes to dealing with human culture. Those who see their political and social freedoms and think the governments back home should lighten up a bit, and those who are turned reactionary by the radically different cultures and cling to their tradition to maintain identity. Which is Alissa in? Is she somewhere between them? Or is this something she will come to learn for herself as she enters the human universe? The people have rated you very highly, with even your detractors lending you +1's. Likewise I have read your responses regarding her factional "loyalty." I appreciate the notion that despite effectively leaving the PRA, she was born and raised under it and consistently fed their propaganda throughout her life. SO all though she isn't willing to fight and die for them, at least not at the moment, she buys into their perspective on the conflict and their revisionist history. Once my concerns have been addressed, I will be glad to complete my processing of this application. -

[Denied]Nexyys Alien Application
Mofo1995 replied to Nexyy's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Application denied, then. Or retracted. Or what have you. -
There are a few nuggets of information worth reviewing here. Here is a list of all rounds you played as the character you applied to play as in your previous application (which this is app is a very near copy paste from): Here is a list of all rounds you played as some other Tajaran character that you made in the same night: While there is no limit on the time you have to play as a whitelist accepted character before making a new one, you had effectively one round as the character you applied for, the same character you are reapplying for, before making a new one and playing them for five rounds. It is clear to me that Raiji is not the character you mean to play, and that this Maliq character is the one you intend to play. However, it was as this Mal'iq that I found myself getting pinged and zinged from about five or six different people complaining. And that isn't including this gem I unearthed on my own: It has been a common tactic in the past that people would apply with characters which abide by the lore only to bait and switch to play as what they actually wanted to play once they have their whitelist- usually a fursona. When I see statistics like this combined with the complaints I had received at the time, I'm inclined to assume this is a bait and switch. Onward to the next, here's your playtime following your whitelist strip: Four rounds. You have played four rounds, two the day of your whitelist strip and two a week later. Maybe a couple more if a character slot wasn't saved, but I would have to bug a developer to inform me of this. And lastly, the elephant in the room, the one which I now see in hindsight you PM'd me telling me you would do, your whitelist application is a near copy and paste of your first whitelist application. If you're going to make a whitelist application, a reapplication no less, you should make it for the character you actually intend to play as. Not including the round as a mercenary, as that shouldn't count anymore than a wizard would, you only played a single round as Raiji K'Sarr before playing a bunch of rounds as Mal'iq Sayir. Who is Mal'iq Sayir? What is his affiliation? What is his history? What is his personality? Is his story in line with our Tajaran lore? If someone made a whitelist application as him, would it pass? The point of a whitelist application is to demonstrate for the species handler that you have a working knowledge of the lore and the ability to role-play appropriately. Your whitelist was taken because of numerous complaints about your conduct, your repeated showing of being uninformed about basics of Tajaran lore (such as rolling r's and speaking in the third person, two things which are on the main page of the Tajara wiki, which is supposed to be read in its entirety before even applying!), and your exceptionally low playtime on server. When I'm given a copy and paste of the same application (which was later stripped) armed with the knowledge that your playtime on the server is still extremely low and that by all appearances you intend to play as another character entirely, in what way am I shown that you now have a better understanding of the species lore, or even the server lore? Community feedback would be one way to determine this, but there isn't any which is typically a symptom of limited playtime. Given these circumstances, I'm afraid I'm going to have to deny this application. Feel free to apply again in the future.

A few new developments! Pictures of Tajara with each RGB combination will be added to the wiki tonight so that people have a visual reference to go on when picking. Namely the pictures Sierra posted will be used. Additionally, there haven't been any suggestions for new colors other than Sierra's cross species colors. If people chime in and think they look nice, they'll be canonized. Dont be shy to propose colors which your Tajara already are if theyre out of the 30 point flex range. Another note I wanted to touch up on is enforcement. No one is going to be sitting around coming through to find non-compliance. So long as your Tajara looks believable or you're not disguising as another race, you'll probably get by even if not following the rules. However, if a Tajara looks far enough off for its color to be looked up, they're going to be asked to change it. On the subject of grandfathering: its highly tempting but I feel as though a policy which favors older players' older characters could be viewed negatively. If people are wanting to push for it anyways, nows the time to let it be known. Enforcement of the new rules have not begun yet since theyre still being worked out. Ill give everyone 2 weeks notice for when I want them to begin phasing into proper colors. Edit: Do we actually want to replace orange? Anyone opposed?
