Is there a reason this took 3 months? Memory of this whole thing is going to be super dodgy.

Ideally for me, medical should have sort of overlap. I feel that MD's should be able to diagnose these traumas. I also believe MD's should also prescribe the medication and the surgeons being able to conduct surgery on the other traumas. I'm not saying they cannot now, more that I'm writing what would be clarified in this guideline. I feel this would not completely cripple medicals capability of handling cloning while at the same time still retain the psych as the leading authority, as they do have access to tools and treatment the rest of staff do not have. There's only a few traumas that can only be cured by psych, and I don't believe anyone of them are too severe. They can still be diagnosed and some form of care/treatment can be given to them. So, let me just outline the draft of this policy. I don't think this would sideline psychiatrist/psychologists, as their measure of treatment/cure is still the best. It just makes it so that their absence isn't so punishing. I'd like some opinions before I move forward with this.

So as it stands. Short term medications is not better than proper long term cures, but it is something. MD/Surgeons can prescribe medications for the traumas. Surgeons can cure traumas that can be permitted via surgery. So per the previous two statement, should they be allowed, this allows cloned people to be able to function well enough? Sure, it's not as optimal as a psych, but would this be enough for them to be back and act at least for the most part sane? Excluding any personal PR shenanigans.

[Denied] IAmCrystalClear's Mod Application
Faris replied to IAmCrystalClear's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
I've noticed that you have the tendency to lash out at people in LOOC. Which doesn't really match with the following answer -
I'm fairly indifferent to these changes, and I've played Security heavily since then. Flashes I've never found to be necessary when it comes to detainment. Generally now I grapple a person, yes perhaps the grabbing code itself isn't the best, but a person avoiding the grapple is generally then dealt with other tools that an Officer has, as that becomes active physical resisting to an arrest. I feel this has the merit of giving more breathing room to people but at the same time further constrain security in their enforcement capability.

[Resolved] Readthisnameplz/Garnascus
Faris replied to Scheveningen's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Hi. Spoke with Doc who helped me handle this as well as Schev personally. Schev wanted me to lock the thread since our talk was satisfactory but I kept it up to outline the verdict and consequences. I'll start by saying both Garn and Read are fine. Read especially conducted their investigation as best they can with the information they provided. There was some other information that came to light during the investigation itself. We will be speaking with the player in question when able to and apply the appropriate punishment accordingly. I'm going to deem this resolved and archive it now. -
[Implemented] Give IAA's Injunction Authority
Faris replied to Azande's topic in Accepted/Implemented Policy
So basically if we implement this, the way I see it is that IAA will be able to write up injunctions during the round itself. They can also fax central with suggestions to increase the injunction to cross multiple days, similar to what they do now when they do their own investigations. Any issues with this? -
Does anyone have the total amount of jobs present in each department? Depending on those numbers, it might be worth while to make maintenance/electrician a special job. Maybe 3 station engineer slots with an engine technician alt title and 3 maint/elec slot. Alternatively we can go 4-2. Yes, this means we'll be adding slots, but this is merely a suggestion.

It used to not gib you. Some beeping to indicate the explosion would be good in my opinion. Supporting.

I'm not so sure you grasp the present rules to warrant further whitelists. -
[Resolved] Readthisnameplz/Garnascus
Faris replied to Scheveningen's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Just a notification that I'll be taking this complaint. The issue involving Garn is resolved now and further context to the poster being made available explained the matter. I am still however going to investigate Readthisnameplz and the Chaplain. -
Considered resolved by the poster. Locking and archiving.

[2 Dismissals] Remove or heavily revise cyborgification as a punishment
Faris replied to Kaed's topic in Rejected Policy
There's no assumption no one will ever do it, there will be people that abuse certain things and they are dealt with. As a Unathi Deputy Lore Developer, you're also responsible of enforcing the standards of your assigned species. You cannot please everyone. There's nothing wrong with trusting people, the people that abuse tend to be the minority of those that do not. Yes, trust can only go so far, but this does not seem to be a thing that is too much to trust? I do not see how this is baffling. When you hand a person a custom item, you trust them not to abuse it. When you grant a person a request that requires administrative assistance, you trust that they do not abuse it. When you grant a person a whitelist, you trust they will not abuse it. Abusing the trust on the previous examples or others yields consequences. Only half correct. They stop future incidents of this nature from the individual. Not to mention staff intervention on reported or noticed cases of extreme escalation. This strikes me as a whitelist quality control issue. If Unathi aren't playing appropriately as they should, it is within your assigned duties to handle them. Whether you're aware of this due to your activity or lack of on our own staff discord, you'd notice a marked increase in whitelist quality enforcement. I've personally made these pings by forwarding players and characters. Yes, I understand this is an example, but my answer would be similar to any whitelist species cited. I'm not sure why you assume this? Considering your debate has largely included members of the lore team as well. As it stands, with the responses here, the dismissal votes from both myself and Syn, I'm moving this to rejected policy. That being said, there may be some minor changes as we discuss this further, but there won't be any serious revisions or removal of punishment per what has been suggested by the poster. Locking and archiving. -
[2 Dismissal] On synthetic policies and regulations
Faris replied to MO_oNyMan's topic in Rejected Policy
Synth lore team is a bit delayed to show their draft. What they are presently planning and what is shown to me is not the same as this suggestion, as it accounts for a number of different factors, which will be clarified upon release. So since this suggestion isn't being implemented per say. I'm voting for dismissal. Locking and archiving due to two dismissals. -
Reporting Personnel: Khaled Al-Bastaki Rank of Reporting Personnel: Head of Security Game ID: Game ID: bUY-daN2 Personnel Involved: (Name, Rank: Offender/Witness/Other (Ckey)) - John Spion, Visitor: Offender - Daniel Carmichael, Officer: Witness - Fabe Dante, Detective: Witness Time of Incident: Real time: 2:30 GMT+4 22/06/2018 Location of Incident: Medical Lobby. Security Department Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property []Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault []Misconduct [X]Other: Corporate Espionage Overview of the Incident: I'll start with a quick summary. John Spion was searched due to the need of code blue during the shift, reason citing was extreme suspicious behavior. Searching them yielded equipment and transcripts indicative of information gather. When pressed, they admitted to gathering information to sell. They were moved to the brig and investigated. The Detective confirmed my professional opinion on the matter and they were charged. Long description. Officer Carmichael notified me of a search on John Spion, permitted by code blue, under the pretense of suspicious activity, since they reportedly were following people around. The search yielded a camera and a recorder device along with a number transcripts, which upon review, cited crew and what they said. I arrived on the scene to assist Carmichael and also reviewed this evidence. When we questioned this individual, their answers were indicative of espionage. I'll quote some to the best of my recollection. Note that this isn't everything they said, only what is important and may not be entirely correct, this was quoted to my best recollection. After this, I came by after some time to the brig to our interrogation wing. The Detective Dante was questioning them and Officer Carmichael was listening in. I joined the officer and heard with crystal clarify the following, which I quote without a doubt as correct "Not really anything yet. Was hoping to find some dirt to sell to rivals." which was shortly followed by "All I found was constant trouble. Thats worth something, I suppose.". I spoke to Detective Dante and he confirmed with me the severity of this, that John Spion is a corporate spy. I had them moved to processing when the Warden assisted with processing and I personally input the summary. The wording could be replaced from hostile to rival, but that was the summary of them being charged with corporate espionage. Nothing further of note occurred until transfer, where we moved them. I attempted to gather the transcript to attach to this report but was unable to locate it and the detective for reasons I still do not know. I was too busy to further attempt locating it as the shuttle was en route. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: My only superior, the Captain was informed of this as well as actions taken, not to mention them listening to us on security frequency. Actions taken: Detainment, questioning, processing, brigging. In this order. Additional Notes: Professional note. Witnesses will only serve to confirm my side of the story, as they also worked with me on this matter. I can cite more minor witnesses on demand but I don't think it is necessary.

As a participant of this round. I'm positively certain that security has let medical through multiple times. CMO even declared your were fine. So I'm not sure how this is perceived torture. The screenshot is fairly out of context to the whole round. With only a Warden and Officer present to handle 3-4 inmates along with responding to outside calls of other antagonists and the events that spawn carp and such. The Detective was around but was mostly busy with investigation. The rest of security was essentially dead. I'm not handling this due to my direct involvement to this round, but this is my perception of how things went.

New Station Directive: 'Regarding Freedom of the Press '
Faris replied to Azande's topic in Completed Projects
I do support some form of directive, similar to the one we have for cargo and science in nature. I'll read through the finer details here along with additional feedback and speak with a few people. -
Agreed. Voting for dismissal.

[Retracted] Ornias' Real Mod App (real)
Faris replied to Ornias's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
There's also indication that you lose interest. We try to keep our staff for the long term, is there any indication you won't just leave a week in? Or just disappear after your trial is concluded? Assuming it's a pass. -

I've already linked you the previous application in our discussions, which was effectively a joke. Why did you do it? How can I be sure you're not wasting our time with this as well? -
