Firstly, I'm going to address a main point here. In most cases, that would be correct. One of the main exceptions to this would be whitelists. Generally only people part of that specific whitelist management are able to remove it, even in the most dire of circumstances. Nursie in this case was not part of the team and Alberyk was involved in his capacity as member of ERT. An example would be us banning a Unathi player for trying to justify self-antagonistic action to their species. We'd apply our own administrative action and report it to the person responsible of said whitelist, which is what happened here. This is also a direct cut from command whitelist rules, which I've made both a discord announcement and a post on the forums pertaining to this. That's not the say the rule didn't exist before or wasn't enforced, I simply placed it in a single place and informed people. Regarding Command whitelist removal: Moving on to the whole incident, the part involving the janitorial ERT. Just to clear this up again. The Janitor ERT was dealt with, I even personally informed them if they tried to meme as a member of ERT, I would have their privilege to play the role revoked, the player was a staff member and should know better, so we do apologize for that. Moving on to your jokes, since what I found in the logs conveyed to me a different story. Note the last part. Per the logs, I'd hardly call this some quick banter or joking. From here on in from all the logs I see, you made no active effort to dispel your order, which Edrahir took it as a legitimate one and further went after the ERT, which you'll see below. Fair is fair, he got pushed over, the ERT certainly didn't help, mistake or not. These logs seem familiar? Parts of these come from the first spoiler. This time put into context with other logs. Note that while the logs don't show, Edrahir has been harassing, pushing pushed or grab up to blue don't show. At this point Edrahir tables Superior and a station unit intervenes on the ERT side. There are more logs so I cut out the repeats, put a few for emphasis. First and last logs. Now from here on, it's understandable that they try to take down. Accident or not with the aiming system, and no effort was made to apologize/void/compromise. From here on in, it just became chaos, again, understandable and this J-ERT is large at fault with this as well. I'll post what happened afterwards, but suffice to say, the ERT did get lynched, with the HoS making no effort to actually de-escalate the situation. Continuously dismissive and hostile overall. Now, they didn't actually rush him from this, they stood around a bit. There could've been some effort to remedy this, instead the following occured. Now, we're not saying you were the issue, you were part of, along with others who aren't the subject of this complaint. There's also quite a lot of LRP issues when it comes to Richters speech, if you'd recall an earlier administrative action done to yourself over it as well. As a person that saw this whole ordeal, this is patently false. Security attempted to detain him in a crowded medical. I saw no effort to have the area vacated nor security being issued with proper equipment to take down an ERT member. You rushed the whole ordeal here. The ERT was not actively murdering people, most logs are towards member of security. In violation of your implant, you decided to lie. I fail to see how any of this was done in benefit of the company. Now, this is the part where ERT orders your arrest. Per the testimony of the AI, which you made no effort to speak with and explain what happened. Sean at this time was mostly wearing standard equipment along with a laser rifle. Fast forwarding to the incident where he fought the ERT, which then required them to defend themselves. This is where a member of medical wordlessly tried to inject a member of ERT wordlessly. Then this jumped to OOC, there were a lot of passive aggressive comments of you from LOOC, which I'm understanding of, but you kept up with behavior you've been previously banned/warned for. So my official assessment is that yes you got that warning, but in truth, I'd have applied a stricter punishment due to the plethora of issues I've found. I've already said why the removal of the whitelist was not a double action either. A double action would've been myself escalating the warning to a ban, which I think is more deserved here. A cursory look over your staff entries would show this. I stand by my decision for this whitelist removal.

20403 2017-11-09 12:09:15 exia352 Banned from Detective - Detective jobban on behalf of Flimango. Repeatedly SSDing as a limited role. You were warned in the past. You can appeal this ban on the forums. This is the ban.

Okay, third times the charm. I posted two posts stating this is resolved and gave it ample time, they just didn't post for some reason. The player in question was given a warning to ask for permission in the future when conducting acts of self harm or suicide. Locking and archiving.

Feedback: Khaled Al-Bastaki (RIP Raymond Hawkins)
Faris replied to Faris's topic in Character and Concept Feedback
One of the major woes of Captainship is sometimes the difficulty to have interaction with many, mostly due to the vastness of the station and the nature of emergencies that require Hawkins express attention. That's not to say I don't try. In actuality, I've written out a schedule for Raymond, wherein it helps regulate his time during a round. Especially in regards to science, granted I had the means and nothing that required my attention, I'd have given science 15 minutes to prepare themselves to personally showcase their work. Perhaps maybe next time. You can also find Hawkins at odd ends of the station. Some people actually know where he takes his breaks and do seek him out there when he ever says he's taking a break. -
I'm not entirely sure where my post went, can't seem to find it. Anyhow, deeming this complaint resolved. Closing and archiving it in 24 hours.

[Resolved] Character Complaint - Warden Declan Woodward
Faris replied to UnknownMurder's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Closing and archiving per request. -
Considering this resolved in relation to what I said above. Locking and archiving in 24 hours.

As far as I'm aware. Suicides don't get cloned lore wise, not just on the station.
-
Okay, error in communication if you read my unedited post. I meant to say I'm not forcing this to be canon instead of saying I'll force it. I've changed my post as it should be. Apologize for the mistake.
-
Technically, what happened here was canon, so your character should be dead, but we don't force these things on characters unless stated. This is the reason why you're required to ahelp before self harm or suicide, which you didn't in this case, otherwise you'd be told of the conditions of permitting you to do this. So, NOT I'm going to force you to canonize this action, but I will be applying a warning due to the breach in rules. In the future, you're required to ahelp any instances of self harm or suicide for staff approval.

[Resolved] Character Complaint - Warden Declan Woodward
Faris replied to UnknownMurder's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Essentially this. We don't mix both in-character punishments with out-of-character so I'm hesitant to apply anything from my end here. I also think this is a sufficient wake up call regarding their Warden game play. Vile and I do acknowledge that their gameplay, especially since it is extremely excessive doesn't meet the OOC expectations for the job, in the sense of the neglect that occurs often or the fact it is being played as a Security Officer with access as opposed to a proper Warden responsible over the brig and armory. However, I won't stop it here. In the event he keeps on doing this in the future, I advise further incident reports be sent. If he makes a new Warden but still persists with this form of game play, we'll step in. If this happens again to the extreme and IR's aren't eligible we'll also step in. Basically, if this is still an issue in the future, some form of action will be taken. I won't do more since I think the IR one is sufficient for the time being. Keeping this open for another 24 hours in case more information happens. -
Forum Overhaul - What I've done - Suggestions
Faris replied to Faris's topic in General Announcements
I've decided to combine all relevant info regarding command whitelists. https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=9533 -
Considering your behavior after your appeal was denied, I'm going to deny this again. You're only free to appeal this again on 8th of December, alternatively a staff complaint might be faster, or not. Here's an example. After denying your last appeal for not willing to follow the format, you decided to add me so you could PM me, and then proceeded to waste my time by taking the "piss".

Not sure what to tell you other than that we'll keep this in mind in the future. We're not really going to stop goofing around at the end of the round, since a good portion of the community does enjoy it. Are you satisfied with this? -
So, I felt that certain aspects of our forums have been a little lacking or in general outdated. So I'm going to show what changes I've done and you're free to suggest things differently or inform me of something that needs attention, preferably with how I could deal with it. First off, my first change was to cut down on our announcements. I felt we had too many and some were really not relevant anymore. They're still there, just not stickied/global. https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewforum.php?f=107 Secondly, I've updated our "Who to contact" thread, which details with, you guessed it, who to speak to about certain topics, Catnip has done a great job keeping it up to date, so I had little to do. The main thing was that I added it to our "Useful links" section, so you don't need to hunt around for the link, image in the spoiler. Thirdly, one of the more important changes. I've decided to clarify our "Complaints Section", some of the information provided was either inaccurate or out of date. The distinction between the ban appeals and staff complaints weren't very clear when it came to bans, which previously said "Think you've been banned unjustly? Post your appeal here." which isn't how we've operated. This has been fixed now, image in the spoiler. Fourthly, during a bluespace incident, our general forum rules seems to have disappeared or sucked into the veil, who knows. So I've made a basic list that is more or less very similar to what we have on the server, simply edited it to be more fitting and gutted out the irrelevant parts. This is only a first draft and won't be implemented just yet, so you're free to suggest amendments, clarifications or additions. Keep in mind that I'd like it to remain fairly simple, nobody likes to read a rule page that could be confused for a novel. Fifthly, I felt that the for our complaint sections and application sections, that having multiple threads with info all over the place can and has led to confusion, usually for new people, as such I've decided to centralize the source of information. For the time being, I've done work to the complaint section. The whitelist section may receive a similar update but only after I discuss it with the relevant people. The header rules in those pages will also be edited. I'll include the links for ease of access. Lastly, I decided that the best way to deal with salt is to move the complaint section below the private terminal. Now you wash away your salt with our wonderful selection of stories, fan fiction and other bizarre reads. /s Just kidding, we do get some proper complaints and appeals, I just felt that such a sub-forum dedicated to problems shouldn't be higher to content made by our community, so I moved it down.

Unban Request Format: Please follow this format if you wish to appeal for an unban Please ensure that you do not include anything in brackets Please note that appeals for bans that are 24 hours or under will most likely be ignored
-
Staff Complaint Format: Please follow this format if you wish to complain about a staff member Please ensure that you do not include anything in brackets Be as detailed as possible. Character/Player Complaint Format: Put the ckey/character name of the complaint or the time of incident in the title. Be as detailed as possible. Logs and screenshots may be used for your complaint. If you are satisfied with the responses of the thread, you are free to ask the report to be closed. BYOND Key: (This is your Byond Login/Ckey) Game ID: (If applicable. Game ID of the round on which the incident took place. If you don't remember the exact one, then the round after or the round before works as well.) Player Byond Key/Character name: (This is the Byond Login/Ckey or the character name of the player you are complaining. If you do not have it, we'll only provide it when the complaint is posted.) Staff involved: (This is if the complaint was ahelped and if it was handled by a staff member) Reason for complaint: (State your reason for your complaint) Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? Images of the act are acceptable, but will only be used if clear evidence is shown within them, proving the accused has done the act in question.) Ban Request Rules: The General Forum Rules and Server Rules apply . Only post if involved. If you are not a moderator or administrator and were not involved in a specific incident that may elicit a ban request, you may not post or reply to a ban request regarding that incident. Do not use ad hominem. No flame wars. No trolling. Self-explanatory. If the infractions described in the ban request have already been dealt with by a staff member, a ban request will not change the outcome of this. If you feel that the outcome was unjust, you are encouraged to post in the Staff Complaints section of the forums. DO NOT MAKE A BAN REQUEST WHILE A ROUND IS STILL GOING. This constitutes as IC in OOC, wait for the round to end. This only applies if the request is related to an ongoing round. Ban requests are ONLY for reporting outright grief that occurred when admins were not online to handle it, or extremely serious cases that are not suited for a player/character complaint. Examples: Phoron griefing for the former. Violation of laws such as distributing illegal content for the latter. Use the provided format.

Just a note. We've started to go hidden more often, even when not on weekends. This is depending on a number of factors but mainly the number players on the server itself. Reason being is that our population boom from the summer never truly subsided.

[Resolved] Situation Complaint - Garnascus
Faris replied to KaiserFeather's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
As far as I'm aware, a honk mech honking stuns a person for 5 second, that being done 3 times makes it 15, adding some period in between, Garn couldn't have had people stunned people for more than 20 seconds in total ((Do correct me if I'm wrong.)). The round delay was approximated to be at around 5 minutes, means that Garn took up a very small portion of it. Staff members are permitted, to goof around a little at round end, so are the players. It's only an issue if people start fighting each other or staff go on a rampage killing/spawning hostile mobs as garn said. This honk mech is one example, but examples in the past is having an ice cream man, BST's duking it out, mass cat spawns and a plethora of other things. The intend it effect of this is a little light hearted fun between everyone, as we understand round delays can be a little frustrating. I really don't see an issue with this. What course of action would you like to be done? Edit: It's come to my attention the stun was more around 10 seconds. While a longer period of time, it's still a minor period. -
[Accepted] Riqpley_Dagasd's Unban Request
Faris replied to Lonely Caravan's topic in Unban Requests Archive
It's been a while and the banning staff member is no longer around. So I'm going to accept it, but, I need to note your behavior based on your recent ban which I'm sure you recall. You've improved from your previous days but you seem to be going down that path again, so I'm going to have this ban removed but if the same things happen while playing a station unit. Expect a ban be applied again. Ban should be lifted now. Locking and archiving. -
