Resilynn
BYOND Key: ResilynnCharacter name: Fernando GonzalesItem name: Pineapple Wallet Why is your character carrying said item to work? After the death of Nawfal, Fernando took care of the body- dressing him in a suit, finding him nice shoes, and cleaning him up. After the cremation, Fernando realized Nawfal's wallet was left in the harness on his engineering clothes. He kept the wallet on hand, not wanting to just throw away the keepsake and not knowing anyone aside from Al-Shennawi or Prate's Angry Miner Cat to give the wallet to. So he's keeping it on him until he can hand it off to either of them as a keepsake. Item function(s): Works like the typical wallet. Due to size, it has reduced capacity, three instead of the typical ten.Item description: A rather small, cheaply made felt wallet with a zipper near the top. It looks like a pineapple.Item appearance: See this thread: How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? Eventually it'll be handed off to one of the Tajara Nawfal was close with, but since neither comes around often, for now it will serve as a reminder of his lost friend. Additional comments: In the event Menown decides this was not, in fact, canon, I'll readily drop this. If Prate or Alb want to just spawn it in and RP this out for a single round, I'll accept that too, but I think it'd be sweeter and more sentimental to carry around for awhile. Link to comment
Guest Menown
I'm fine with this being done. My heart isn't, but I am. Link to comment

Guest Marlon Phoenix
Why did he loot from the dead? Link to comment
KingOfThePing
One can assume that when Muhawir's clothes were changed to the suit he was cremated in, his pockets were emptied. Link to comment

The only priest on station was blind and could not care for the body properly, so a tajaran emt and Fernando prepared the body best they could, changing him into a suit, the emt even gave him her shoes. The wallet was left in muhawirs jumpsuit and found later, after the cremation, when muhawirs items were being sorted. Unless you want to argue it’s somehow looting the dead for a cmo to prepare a body by putting it into a suit. Link to comment
TishinaStalker
So, actual, honest question. Is Nawfal dead dead or will I be seeing him again in a couple of months? Link to comment
KingOfThePing
He is very much dead, killed by a million volts of electricity during a canon event. Link to comment
TishinaStalker
Right, but that hasn't stopped Menown before -- not that it's a bad thing. This is a question for @Menown to answer. Link to comment

This is a question for @Menown to answer. The presented way of bringing him back had been essentially denied by @Senpai Jackboot, so he apparently isn't coming back, as the only feasible way would be to retcon the cremation which a large portion of people have already canonized. Given the character the item belongs to is gone, I really have no say in what gets done with this. Edited March 2, 2019 by Menown Link to comment
Guest Marlon Phoenix
I didn't deny a revival. I explained that the Odin does not carry back ups of crew in order to avoid the "We will clone them at the Odin" mindset that causes frivolous attitudes towards death. In addition, they would have lost an entire month's of memories and development. I'm willing to make a weird exemption here (since it falls outside the 'frivolous attitude towards death' issue the lack of Odin cloning addresses) but as I said in the DM it is the easiest choice to retcon the death entirely. Or, offered here, retcon the DNC and say you were cloned on the station, and are now emerging from extended medical leave. Edited March 2, 2019 by Marlon Phoenix Link to comment
Guest Menown
Like I said, people have already canonized the cremation. I'm not going to force canon for my own benefit. This is the last I'm commenting on this since it's being derailed. Link to comment

Seriously, menown. Absolutely no one would blame you for bringing him back, I think we’d all trust you to do good things with the character because of it. Link to comment
