MattAtlas Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 @Goret and I will be taking this complaint. It might take some time because of how big this complaint is. It's a lot of moving parts so bear with us during the investigation.
BoryaTheSlayer Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Quote In fact, everything not allied with the cult + 1 officer cultist I hadn't even known about was now fighting me, singularly. Don't even get me started on how fast @BoryaTheSlayer 's reporter shell sprung into full on combat. That thing about self preservation? Bull. I call bull. I couldn't ahelp amidst the frantic combat. I spent most of the fight either horizontal, with a white screen due to flashes, or attempting to pick up my weapons after Borya ran up to spam disarm. I don't mean to be belligerent here, but things aren't as one-sided as you lot like to make it out to be...at least, up until...right...after that whole fight in the brig...yyyyyyyeeaaaaaaaah. @Itanimulli Define full on combat, please? The most I did is baton an officer with their own baton because they really didn't want to stop chasing me, which was the end of that fight. Also; I never tried to paint the picture so one-sided, and I'm sorry if that's how it looked. I'm not accusing anyone here because I'm still confused as to what the hell even happened there. I did do some ballsy moves that I shouldn't have, yes, but I generally tried to keep myself in line and just drag out some bleeding people because the cultists didn't care about me for the most part during those fights. I didn't spam anything, as well.

For a bit of mild clarification, they do. This is likely compounded if RNG hates you and puts the damage on one of your (4?) prosthetics that I remember from yoinking you out of the brig and choking you to death. Prosthetics and being a cultist make for suffering due to the non-healing, very easily noticed damage.

That damage was from the fact that I'd literally just fought the entire security force. 7 hours ago, BoryaTheSlayer said: @Itanimulli Define full on combat, please? I didn't spam anything, as well. Imo it was over the top. I'm not pursuing a complaint because I...don't usually file complaints about one-off incidents...but you sprung into action the moment I was out of the processing cell. Literally, I took (I still don't remember the officer's name...)'s ID and bust myself out and all of security including your IPC converged. It felt immensely irritating seeing a non-antag non-security member deciding to bob and weave through .45 rubbers, lasers, tazers, and stun-batons like they were trying to collect clips for Aurora's Next Top Robuster. Hell, you even got a grab off on me and threw me into a wall when one of the officer's flashed me, wich was part of the reason the whole spree began. My initial idea was to escape, but it seems chasing down armored swordsmen with bight lights and cattle prods (thank god cult armor has high stun res...) is the way to go about doing business, and your presence after the fight itself broke out was not helpful in the slightest. It felt like secborgs had made a return, but in the form of female shells.
BoryaTheSlayer Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 I, genuinely, don't remember throwing anyone. Except the officers that were bleeding, but that was the end of the fight. This is rather pointless to continue as the logs will show how it happened(and as I said before I do admit I might have went overboard, but to my dumb brain's memory you're overselling this). If you have any more to say on this I'd rather we resolve this over DM's rather than here so as to not make this thread any unnecesarily larger than it is already.

I'm aware you donk, I'm stating that I knew of your prosthetics because of that, and in using the starter paper you do damage to yourself. Should this land on a prosthetic, it won't heal in seconds as it would on an organic part, which incidentally is why you should religiously avoid medical and suit sensors as a stealth cultist with prosthetics unless you keep a welder on-hand.

TY for explaining this

Given the number of 'Some of you do 'x', wink wink' and 'Some of you are well known for 'y'', at least have the conviction to name names and give evidence, otherwise it's just white noise. I'll respond the issues directed at me. Firstly, the miner I apparently ganked. For those who know me, they likely know that I very, very rarely kill people on the server unless there's no other way. This is why I actually turned off my antag selection as it just makes me feel bad ruining their round. In this case, however, I feel totally justified. Someone drew a sword on me and threatened for me to back-off. Fine. At that point it was kind of whatever, though their claim that cult stuff had only been apparently '5-10' minutes ago and they'd already armed up seems somewhat ridiculous to me. Anyway, I back off and leave it. Yet from my perspective they then start following me down the hall with their sword out. They didn't have it put away. Bear in mind that we made it extremely clear that we were gathering in the chapel and this guy was walking towards it. With weapons. After threatening me. I do not at all buy the whole 'Just going to cargo' story, but even if it was true, there was no way I could have known.. So, feeling threatened - after I literally just had been - I approach him, took a sword to the head and promptly stunned him. T As multiple others have mentioned, it was a confusing round and I didn't know how many cult we had. Wanting more converts, I take him with me to the chapel, where I quickly collapse given the internal injuries. I don't know why he was then sacrificed or what happened for the rest of the round, as I was in paincrit. The engineer, however, is a different story. This one I actually feel bad about. Bearing in mind that by this point the AI has made an announcement that sec is evil, someone breaking into the armoury seems off. Whatever. So the guy appears, I stun him to try and get another convert given some of us had just died, but then things got fucky. The person I was with said we should sacrifice him. I disagreed, which - again - should be in any logs. After they kept insisting, I went along with it. I'm new to cult, I don't play it and do my best to avoid it. As such, I assumed they meant the person was to be put into a construct/wraith/whatever, so I let it happen. An explosion later and they were gibbed. Yikes. Not what I'd expected, and ,for this one, I do apologise. People complaining we 'just wanted to summon' are correct. Everyone was having a shit time. Cult, non-cult, whatever; the round sucked. As such, we asked to end it so we could move on and we were given permission. If a mining rig and a longsword while dragging a box full of materials arming up and chasing down... I uh.. dunno what to say. I can understand your thought that I was following you, sure. Had you bothered to try any rp at all you'd have found out I was going to cargo. You can't know for sure. You ganked with no RP. You would have been upset in reverse if I ganked you with my longsword the first time we encountered each other with no rp when you had no runes ready. Valid or not. RP with me. Additionally. You ddin't get a sword to the head until after you activated your stun rune. Only reason I know is bc I started clicking where you were and was surprised it worked after my screen went white. Edited November 10, 2019 by Bear
MattAtlas Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 Our investigation is done. We focused on three key issues in this complaint: OOC attitude, the sacrifice rune spam and the conversions. The rest seems fine - the brig fight, for instance, was fine as it seems like standard escalation to me. The OOC attitude was found to be a nonissue by Goret. It didn't look that heated. The sacrifice rune spam was handled in round. I looked into the conversions, especially Derrick's. Here's what I found: SAY: Alvin Mildred: (Ceti Basic) Mens. SAY: Alvin Mildred: (Ceti Basic) Help me with something? SAY: Derrick Mens: (Ceti Basic) What is it? SAY: Alvin Mildred: (Ceti Basic) I need help carrying something. SAY: Alvin Mildred: (Ceti Basic) Can you come assist. SAY: Derrick Mens: (Ceti Basic) ...carrying what? SAY: Alvin Mildred: (Ceti Basic) I just need to carry something... SAY: Alvin Mildred: (Ceti Basic) Dream sign ''Evil sealing talisman''! After this, Derrick was stunned, cuffed, mouth taped and converted. This is not proper antagonist roleplay. We are not here to win, we're here to roleplay and these actions aren't conducive to roleplay. At this point the cult hadn't gone loud, so there was no proper escalation and there was definitely not enough roleplay given to the victim. A warning will be handed out for this behaviour. In essence, this round was really bad. It happens. Not every round can be great, there will be some bad ones. All we can do is reflect on how to make them better. I am sure we all learned something from this one. This thread will be closed in 24 hours.
Karhast Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 Thank you. This can't have been an easy round to investigate at all, and I appreciate your effort in doing so.
